The Minyards’ and Hemmicks’ Names
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone point this out, but it was one of the first things I noticed when I read the books; Andrew, Aaron, and Nicky all have Biblical/Catholic names. It makes sense because Luther and presumably Tilda are Catholic, but their Biblical names also correspond with who they are as characters.
Andrew: In the Bible, he is one of Jesus’ 12 Apostles. He was brother to Simon Peter, who was Jesus’ closest Appstle. The name Andrew itself means “strong” and “warrior,” and in the books Neil narrates how strong he finds Andrew; we can also see him as a warrior when he protects Nicky especially as well as the other Monsters.
Joseph: There are 2 Josephs in the Bible and both fit Andrew’s character. The first is Joseph the father of Jesus on earth. He was seen as the ultimate protector because he protected the Holy Family and followed God’s call to stay with Mary. He protected Jesus from being killed as an infant by taking him and Mary to Egypt shortly after his birth. Obviously, Andrew is very much a protector. He is very protective of all the Monsters and frequently called a “mom friend” in the fandom. The other Joseph, is Joseph son of Jacob (Israel). He was the favorite son of his 12 brothers, and all of the brothers were jealous. Because of this, they leave him in a ditch and sell him as a slave to the Egyptians. As a slave, he works his way up the ranks to become the Pharaoh’s adviser because he can interpret dreams. Eventually during the famine, his brothers and father come to Egypt in hopes of finding food, and Joseph forgives them for selling him off. There is obviously the similarities of complicated brother relationships which is very much Andrew and Aaron, but I say he also relates to this because Joseph reconciles with his brothers, and post canon Andrew and Aaron begin to reconcile and really have a relationship with one another.
Aaron: In the Bible, Aaron is the brother of Moses and a high priest among the Israelites. He helps them along their journey to the Promised Land. One of the most notable things he does is while Moses is on Mt Sinai, he builds a golden calf for the Israelites to worship. When Moses sees this, he gets so angry and upset that he smashes the Ten Commandments and has to climb the mountain to receive them again. I see this as Aaron (Aaron) and Andrew (Moses) and their early relationship. After their deal is made, Aaron doesn’t understand the significance of this and instead goes against what they agreed to (kind of like—> Aaron and Moses were both priests and dedicated to God and Aaron went against that with the idol) and it almost reflects how Aaron beings to go against their deal.
Michael: Michael the Archangel is the warrior and protector of the Church, and he is the one who directly opposes Satan and defeats him. I see it as pretty fitting, because in the end, who is it that kills Drake?
I find the twins names so very fitting because not only do they relate to their characters, every one of them in the Bible had a brother. (If you count the other Archangels as Michael’s “brothers.”)
Unlike the twins, Nicky’s names are not the names of Biblical figures, but instead of Catholic saints.
Nicholas: St. Nicholas was known for his generosity, as he gave his wealth to the poor. And probably what he’s most known for, he gave gifts to the poor at night inside their shoes. (Which brought about the story of Santa Claus). I think this fits Nicky well, as he gave everything he had to the twins. He gave up living a normal teenage life to instead not go to school and instead work 3 jobs to keep him and the twins all afloat. Also more obvious, St. Nicholas is the patron saint of children and known as the protector of them. That very obviously relates to Nicky as he protects and cares for the twins.
Esteban: The English equivalent of Esteban is “Stephan,” and St. Stephan is known as the first martyr. He is actually mentioned in the bible, but doesn’t appear on page. He refused to denounced the Catholic faith, so he was stoned to death. This is similar to Nicky because Nicky again gave up everything for the twins, and he was the first person to really give everything he had for these two.

Summary: Connor convinces Myriam to start her new life with Norris. Set during "The Wedding" Homestead mission between the chase sequence and the wedding scene. Hope you guys enjoy!
Connor would be the first to admit that he knew little to nothing about colonial wedding customs. Aside from a few comprehensive history and culture lessons from his teen years when he first traveled to Achilles, Connor knew nothing about the complexities of colonial weddings. Father Timothy had been kind enough to explain a few key details, such as “giving” Myriam away at the altar (which Connor was more than happy to do for his old friend), but details slipped Connor’s mind from time to time over the next several days of intense planning and preparation.
But there was one thing that Connor was sure they did not include: chasing the bride in question through the snow-covered trees minutes before her wedding.
The day began with as much chaos as one would expect. Before the roosters began to crow, nearly every member of the Homestead bustled about preparing for the joyous celebration. Oliver and Corrine worked hard preparing their finest wines for the occasion while preparing the livestock meat and crops gathered by Warren and Prudence – and of course, little baby Hunter, who cooed excitedly against his mother’s back. Once finished organizing the food, Prudence and Corrine joined the ladies in adorning Myriam in fine, comfortable fabrics suitable for the huntress. Ellen poked needles into the sides to ensure the stitching was up to par, while Diana and Catherine squawked at Connor and Norris for accidentally stepping near the bride’s suite (which Connor did not dare remind the ladies was his home).
In the meantime, Big Dave and Lance worked tirelessly to adorn both the inn and the church with banners and decor fit for the Homestead’s very first wedding. Big Dave lifted the chubby woodworker up to pin the wooden posts on the side of the inn, waving to Terry and Godfrey as the lumberers warned Norris of the horrors of marriage to come.
“You’ll ne’er be right ‘bout anythin’ again, ya hear me, boy?” Godfrey teased as he slapped his palm against Norris’s back.
“Aye, and forget about havin’ the covers to yerself! You’ll be shiverin’ like a leaf!” Terry explained. Norris merely laughed and shook his head.
In the church, Dr. White and Achilles aided Father Timothy in preparing his short sermon, arranging the pews, and finishing the final touches hours before the wedding. Even the Assassin recruits were more than happy to help with the preparations. Stephane set to work in the kitchen alongside Oliver to cater the large meal ahead. Duncan, ever the Catholic, assisted Father Timothy in rehearsing his sermon. Jacob offered his wisdom for marriage while he straightened Norris’s hair, while Dobby stood guard outside Myriam’s dressing room in case of wandering eyes from stray men. Clipper and Jamie helped Mr. Faulkner and the crew of the Aquila find their drunken ways to the church, all while Connor wandered about and assisted where he could.
So, given the day’s chaotic events, it was not surprising to Connor as he announced happily to the pacing Norris that all was in order that Myriam was “missing.” After all, the ladies had only just left her room. How much trouble could the huntress find herself in?
Apparently, thought Connor as he raced through the trees and leapt through the branches, quite a lot.
“Leave me be!” Myriam shouted as she jumped to the next branch, a stray branch slowing her down as it caught on her white dress. It was not enough to stop her, but it was enough for Connor to come within speaking distance.
“Why do you run?!” Connor replied, his voice echoing through the forest with concern lacing his tone. He swung to the next branch, careful not to slip and even more careful to ensure Myriam did not.
“Leave me be!” Myriam exclaimed. She crossed over to the next tree in an attempt to throw Connor off her trail. “I’m no housewife!”
Connor’s brow furrowed. While he could not necessarily speak for the entire Homestead, “housewife” would be one of the last descriptors attributed to Myriam. She was a huntress, and a respectable one at that. Through his confusion, Connor quickly ducked through another tree and sprinted across the large, sturdy branch. “No one thinks you are one!”
Myriam slid down a fallen tree, stumbling into the snow before whirling around to face Connor. “That’s what all of this means!”
A silence passed between the two as flurries of snow cascaded around them. Myriam sighed, grabbing her crown of flowers and tossing it to the ground. She sunk to the snowy ground and hid her face in her knees.
Quietly, Connor knelt beside Myriam. Lifting the flower crown into his hands, he joined her in the blanket of snow. He said nothing, only silently thumbing the daffodils adorning her crown. The two sat for a moment while gazing over the rushing river, watching as it cascaded over weathered rocks. Myriam reached forward and threw one into the water. When it sank to the bottom of the river, she huffed angrily through her nose.
“I don’t want to be some housewife that sits around waiting for her husband to come home,” she explained, tossing her hands into the air in frustration. “That’s not who I am. I’m not
I’m not some lady wanting to be kept pregnant and barefoot!”
“No one thinks you are one,” Connor repeated gently. Myriam shot a glare at the hulking man, Connor shrinking in on himself in response despite his size.
“That’s what this means! This whole wedding! Shoving me into this stuffy dress, preparing me to take vows, giving me away!” She stood, pacing by the riverside. She gave Connor an apologetic look. “No offense. If I want anyone to give me away, it would be you.”
Connor rose and nodded his head. “None taken. But what is it that causes you to believe that you will become a housewife?”
Rubbing the bridge of her nose, Myriam groaned before settling her hands on her hips and staring out into the river. “I
I don’t know!” She tossed her hands in the air again, rustling her hair and pacing back and forth. “I don’t belong inside a house cooking and cleaning and caring for a husband and an entire brood of children. I belong in the open air, in my hunting blinds, with my rifle in my hands!” Her hands formed the gesture of her weapon in question. Then, they fell to her sides. “If I marry Norris
I’ll be leaving behind all of my freedom that I worked so hard to gain.”
Stepping closer, Connor laid a hand on Myriam’s back. “That is not true,” he murmured quietly. “You know that better than I. Norris wants only for you to be happy.”
“Do I?” Myriam asked. Her voice faltered and she turned her nose to the rushing river. “What if, when we get married, all he wants is for me to sit at home and
I don’t know, wash his feet?”
Connor unintentionally wrinkled his nose. At the very least, the gesture provided a quick laugh for the two hunters. The uncomfortable silence returned soon after, broken only by the sounds of quiet chirping and rustling bushes.
“Norris did not fall in love with a housewife,” Connor finally spoke up. He met Myriam’s gaze with his own, gentle eyes. “Why would he expect such?”
“All men do,” Myriam sighed.
“I do not.”
“You are not all men.”
Connor glanced down at the flower crown in his hands, thumbing over the white petals. “Perhaps I am not.”
Myriam pinched her nose again. “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to offend–”
“No, it is alright,” Connor assured her. His brows furrowed in thought while Myriam squinted into the horizon. Then, a candle sparked in his mind. “How much do you know of my people, Myriam?”
“I don’t see the point of your question,” Myriam remarked tersely. When Connor gave a serious expression, she sighed. “But to answer it, not much.”
He moved in front of Myriam. “I think you would like it very much. For my people, it is the women who lead. We may have chiefs and war councils, but these men are voted upon by our women. Clan Mothers lead the village. We trace our ancestry through our mothers. For women, marriage is not just a union of the husband and wife, but of the village to the couple.”
Myriam raised a brow. “Your point?”
Placing the flower crown upon her head, Connor continued. “You are not a housewife, but even if you were, it would not change who you are. You are a skillful leader and hunter. Norris knows this. He marries you because of it, not in spite of it. He admires you for who you are. You need be nothing else. And by marrying Norris, you unite our friends as a whole, too.”
Silently, Myriam adjusted the crown and tucked stray strands of hair behind her ears. “Do you really think so?”
“I know so.” He cracked a rare smile. “Besides, you are a better shot than Norris. If anyone will be the housewife, it will be him.”
Myriam snorted. “The bad part is that I think he would enjoy being a housewife.” Her shoulders shook as she began to laugh. “Could you imagine? Me, coming home with a pipe of tobacco sticking out of my mouth, my rifle on my back, and hares in my hands while Norris cooks and cleans?”
Connor chuckled, then gently led Myriam towards the path leading to the church. “But you cannot imagine such a fate until you are wed.”
“No,” Myriam smiled, “I suppose I can’t.” As they reached the church, Myriam turned to Connor with a mixture of fear and excitement.
“I’m scared.”
Connor nodded. “I know.”
“What do I do?”
“What do you do when you face a cougar?”
“I shoot it. Are you suggesting I shoot Norris?”
“No, but I am suggesting that you face him like you would any animal.” He laid his hands on her shoulders, squeezing gently. “You are a strong, cunning woman, Myriam. He loves you deeply. He would not be marrying you if he had no intention of respecting you.”
Myriam inhaled sharply. “How do I get over it?”
“The fear?”
“No, the weather – what else would there be?”
“You won’t,” chimed a gentle, soft voice. Prudence and Ellen emerged from behind the church. Ellen offered Myriam her bouquet of flowers while Prudence wrapped a white shawl around her shivering shoulders. Prudence patted her cheek. “When I married Warren years ago, I was terrified of our future. But you learn, in marriage, that you are both equally frightened.” She giggled along with Ellen and Myriam.
Ellen took Myriam’s hands in her own. “My marriage was an unhappy one,” she confessed. Connor looked on solemnly, catching Ellen’s somber gaze for a mere second before Ellen mustered a smile. “But I can offer this wisdom: a good husband will cherish his wife for her talents, her wit, her love, her devotion, and her faith. Norris practically worships the ground you walk on. He will make a fine husband.”
Myriam sniffled. “Fuck,” she cursed. “I can’t believe I’m crying like some
some old hag!” Prudence and Ellen laughed, rubbing Myriam’s shoulders before holding her tightly.
“Besides,” Prudence cooed, staring over Myriam’s shoulder into Connor’s watchful gaze, “once we have you and Norris married, we can finally focus our attention on finding Connor a wife.”
Cheeks flushing, Connor brought his fist to his mouth and cleared his throat. “That will not be necessary.”
“Oh, hush, Prudence,” Ellen giggled. “We mustn't scare him from the prospect yet.” She turned back to Myriam, kissing her cheek. “We have to go back inside, but we will support you no matter what.” Prudence nodded in agreement before waving goodbye, giggling alongside Ellen as they hurried into the church.
Myriam rubbed her arms and faced Connor, walking with him up the steps. “You will be there every step of the way?”
“Every step,” Connor assured.
“Okay.”
“How do you feel?”
“Terrified. Like I want to run away again,” Myriam chuckled breathlessly. Connor hummed and looped his arm with hers.
“I will be there regardless. I am sure Norris will be as well.”
Myriam smiled. “Thank you, Connor.”
“You do not need to thank me. You are my friend.”
She stood on her tiptoes, pressing her frigid lips to Connor’s freckled cheek. “No, but I will. Thank you.”
Blushing, Connor cleared his throat and led Myriam to the entrance of the church, where the guests began to rise as they spotted the bridge.
“Prudence and Ellen are right, though. We must find you a bride,” she whispered, doing her best to ignore the endless amount of eyes upon her and Connor.
Connor chuckled, patting her hand. “I can only hope she is not as fast nor agile as you.”
“Ha, ha. Who knew you had such a sense of humor?”
Years later, when Connor would find himself fidgeting in front of his betrothed’s longhouse, Myriam would loop her arm with his, kiss his flustered cheek, and walk him into the longhouse with the same kindness he had shown her before.
Luckily for Connor, his wife did not run into the trees. How fortunate he was indeed.

LOST reading list
a list of books read by characters in lost for you to enjoy (or not). this isn't every book referenced in lost. for all that and more, see the "literary works" page on lostpedia, where im getting my info
no, my criteria for this list is that it's been read by a lost character. i'll tell you who (you'll see sawyers name a lot), and i'll add if it's somebody's fave book. this list will not include things like the bible or the qur'an or historical texts, as that while that can technically be recreational reading (it seems to be for ben), i'd rather not

The Book of Life
From birth my name was written in the blood on my mother both the one I know and the first
In life in the blood of my father, whether his name be red or red.
In inheiritence in the blood of my brothers and sisters
Born of blood and water of pain and cursing
I live by sweat and stumbling, red of earth red of hair sin both chosen and of apathy
I get the lions share, yet it all is yet still ash.
Neither hot nore cold so I spit you out (and pray the Lord not find me luke warm)
Made in His image yet also in hers coniving and prideful
On one hand I feel the bruise of sin, yet on the other of the right hand I stand in awe of the long dead, ..nay, rotten and dry skull of the advisary
Crushed like a melon in summer, like garlic before it is added to the pan, like Stephan looking into heaven
Stephan looked, Jacob was strengthened, David wrote
I long to see what they saw, instead I bless and curse not
Pray for a straight path, to hear "Well done my good and faithful servant"
To know when I aught to eat the meat of the unworthy and when to abstain
There are two books
One with the name of every earthly man written in gold
Yet destined for fire
The other written in blood born of a woman not of man yet a man still
Born of pain and yet He never cursed me
Red as His name, salvation, king, and sacrifice, high priest
Every new name written in blood and water
Pierced for me, yet He still lives
None knew Him, yet He knows us
Every one written in the blood of the Lamb

Note
i saw your post about tb&tg feud with dany and stuff, people dont have to be miserable over how big dany was, she is big Aegon and Rhaenyra is not Dany but the dance story have nothing to do with dany herself she is already big and have her own plot, jurney, and arc
Just like Dany based on King Henry VII Aegon and Rhaenyra based on his Ancesstors Stephan and Matilda, no Rhaenyra's death have nothing to do with the death of the dragons, dragon still exist even after she died such as Rhaena's dragon or whatever people theory about amethyst empress was the remaining Targ just doesnt know how to hatch them, the civil war it self was already been mention in the main book and it was nothing to do with dany she mention Aegon the third not Rhaenyra or Aegon the second
Dany fans should distance themself with hotd if you people consider Ryan show as Canon then Mad Queen Dany also canon since they are in the same universe.
I think people shouldnt watch too much Preston Jacob videos, George is not Baran Bo Odar he multiple times saying he was Gardener he could probably change his mind not every thing is theory just because you people solve R+L=J theory (one of the lamest theory in fantasy story)
People are not wrong if they like F&B characters than the main book one is just the characters they are not real, they are all a bunch characters made up by George rr Martin go outside touch some grass and delete your c ai.
Anon is talking about this post.
no Rhaenyra's death have nothing to do with the death of the dragons, dragon still exist even after she died such as Rhaena's dragon or whatever people theory about amethyst empress was the remaining Targ just doesnt know how to hatch them
Dragon eggs =/= dragons, anon...Dany is (directly, the text SAYS this) to "re-awaken" and "bring back" dragons from their stone eggs through magic...which implies that yes, the dragons were GONE. And after Rhaenyra's death and Rhaena/Morning or Nettles/Sheepsteler, there was NEVER another dragon or dragonrider in sight or sound...ever.
Dany fans should distance themself with hotd if you people consider Ryan show as Canon then Mad Queen Dany also canon since they are in the same universe.
You're going to have to point out to me when I ever said HotD was canon? I certainly have never said anything of the sort. nothing in the show is "canon". Either show. GRRM has said they are different things AND that the books are the "only" "canon":
Tumblr media
What gave you the impression that Dany stans ever thought HotD or GoT were "canon" or that Dany-going-mad was a valid plotline?! not too long ago, there was a whole crashout group chat for dany stans who expressed they hated how HotD included Daenerys at all, not bc they thought the Dance is disconnected to Dany thematically or whatever, but because hotD is trying to use her popularity to validate their trash writing when the writers most likely even believe that Dany was "always" going to go mad.
I think people shouldnt watch too much Preston Jacob videos, George is not Baran Bo Odar he multiple times saying he was Gardener he could probably change his mind not every thing is theory just because you people solve R+L=J theory (one of the lamest theory in fantasy story)
Now, I'm (not) sorry to say this to you, but it's a given that Jon Snow is the bastard child of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Here are some posts as to why/how, esp for how/why Rhaelya was written as a love story and why Ned was so adamant in bringing him into his house despite Catelyn's ire:
ozymalek/iwouldservehim: "On Rhaegar"
queen-morgana91: "Do you think that Lyanna and Rhaegar were seriously in love?"
hamliet: "Is sansa connected to the winter rose?"
la-pheacienne, an anon: arthurian legends
We know Ned brought back Jon from "part unknown" and never revealed who his mother was in Cat's perspective, that he approached the Tower of Joy, that Lyanna died there. It's not a theory, the text (even outside of the main) PLUS GRRM himself gives us so much material to know this if you pay attention. Not everything needs to be spelled out to you, just like it doesn't need to be spelled out to you that Rhaena the BB's dragon, Dreamfyre (you might know Dreamfyre as Helaena's dragon) laid the 3 eggs Dany now has....see how the Targs are connected to and are important for Daenerys' characterization?
GRRM can be a Gardner all he needs, but that doesn't mean he's going to tear down every single set up he's built for himself or even change characterizations that have remained consistent for going on 20 years or so. He'd literally have to start over, the way you think "gardening" means. He's not going to make changes or tweaks so big and story-defining as to destroy the characterizations he's already set up, once more. Just because you don't R=L=J, doesn't mean it isn't true. Not everything revolves around your desires or wants.
I also never have ever watched a single Preston Jacobs video. Pretty much the only videos on ASoIaF analysis video have been GameofThronesHistorian, HallowedHarpy, PhoenixAshes, and lots of memes. Joke videos on tiktok. Phoenix Ashes both on TikTok and Youtube. You have assumed too much.
People are not wrong if they like F&B characters than the main book one is just the characters they are not real, they are all a bunch characters made up by George rr Martin go outside touch some grass and delete your c ai.
Funny, it looks like you are the one who takes a "bunch of characters" too seriously since you seem to go so hard for Dany and try to castigate so passionately against another character(s) having anything to do with her. Like the very idea offends you, and enough to create a multi-paragraph ask expressing such. You don't seem very self-reflective or self aware. Once again, you bring no analysis to the fore, and assume that I and others are expressing these thoughts just bc we want to pretend there's connections between the main series and its accompanying books...as if those accompanying books to any main series have nothing to do with their main book series in any franchise. That's funny.
If they are all "a bunch of character made up by GRRM" then perhaps you yourself need to touch grass for trying to say people engaging in analysis and using critical thinking skills to try to figure out how and what towards GRRM writes is....harmful to understanding the story?! What a self contradiction! You seem to not believe or understand what the literary studies is all about.
It's not a disparagement or reduction of Dany nor her arc to show how she and Rhaenyra both relate to the amethyst/bloodstone/Long night prophecy. I don't know why you think so. You haven't, also, shown evidence to why you think that Rhaenyra and Aegon II have nothing at all to do with or are not "re-representing" and thus referencing the Amethyst Empress/Bloodstone emperor. You're basically saying, "bc I said so". The Amethyst Empress and her younger brother (Aegon was Rhaenyra's); Aegon, like the emperor, usurped his sister out of greed....just as Aegon did; because he and his side did this, it ushered in a war that would have never occurred if they hadn't willfully usurped her because we know that the dragons need woman and girls both present and autonomous or practicing power similar to their male counterparts...have you seen how before the Dance and during Rhaenyra's happier years on Dragonstone, more dragon eggs hatched heathily and numerously? Especially Syrax laying clutches upon clutches of eggs? Even with sheepstealer and Morning, Baela's daughter, Laena,'s egg hatched but took a huge chunk out of her arm, coming out with no wings and defomed, pale.....nothing liek that has ever been recorded! Obviously the Dance had a huge negative effect on the dragons' survival beyond the ones that died in battles or not long after!
Now, after Rhaenyra's denied her chance to rule AND killed in such a violent, misogynist way--like how the Amethyst Empress' demise and the usurpation, the Long night/a cataclysmic event that unbalanced the worlds' magic...dragons need to exist to maintain that familiar balance or at least not to die like what happened to them--wheh now the Targs never have a female ruler (only Aelora and Daena, and they never became active, autonomus queens) or a female member who lived happily, the Targs struggle to do anything with any egg? Every single one who tried had to sorta "fall back" on other sources and types of sorcery, and even then still struggles. Almost all who tried and we know who failed were men.
................................................
All F&B characters exist to conceptualize Dany. They may have their own particular arcs, but those arcs are not completely independent stories, or this would be an anthology of different , separate stories with their own lore. Do you need characters to be the exact same or have the exact same arcs to have said or see any sort of "connection" between them? What a boring, intellectually bankrupt, and flat thing that would be.
The Blackfyre rebellions also have to do with Dany, bc we know Varys is trying to use FAegon/young Griff, a Blackfyre, along with Illyrio Mopatis to rule under their control. The same Mopatis who was in charge of caring for her and Viserys for years...obviously for a purpose that shaped her life.
So does how Aegon I and his sisters, obviously. We know she is very much a conqueror like Aegon, good at strategy like both women, etc.
So does Alysanne and Jaehaerys' policies. So does summerhall.
Why does Rhaenyra have to be the one isolated and totally detached from Dany in terms of asoiaf analysis, themes, and connections being made?
Dany may not be like her ancestors in terms of searching for power for the family or oneself alone; she is also not detached or totally unlike them, bc most Targs have the same "fire", passion, capacity for love that she has. A few Targs even have an altruism that can be compared to hers, even though their own methods or conceptions of how to take care of their people (which included peasants) went to a place of destruction and misinterpretations of they needed to do to reawaken the dragons or a certain narrow-mindedeness from frustrations (Aegon V and Rhaegar, maybe Aegon III and even Alysanne, whith her kids).
Maybe you are young or you love HotD too much. I suggest re-reading the books.

EXIT EDEN Reveal New Single ‘Run!’ Feat. Marko Hietala + Announce New Album “Femmes Fatales”
Tumblr media
Symphonic metal supergroup EXIT EDEN, feat. ClĂ©mentine Delauney (Visions of Atlantis), Anna Brunner (League of Distortion) and Marina La Torraca (Phantom Elite), are back to mesmerize audiences with their second studio album – illustrating strength and female empowerment with the title Femmes Fatales – set for release on January 12, 2024 via Napalm Records. EXIT EDEN’s new masterpiece contains its own original compositions as well as covers of international hits, and refers to the “femme fatale” as a symbol of women taking control of their own narratives with autonomy, intelligence and independence, and bringing pure feminine energy back into the world.
With their debut, Rhapsodies in Black (2017), entering the German album charts at #15 and millions of views on their previous official videos, the trio presents the new single “Run!”, featuring a magical guest appearance by matchless vocalist Marko Hietala (ex-Nightwish). Written by Anna Brunner and Hannes Braun (Kissin’ Dynamite), original track “Run!” showcases another astonishing facet of the album by bringing a folk-ish vibe alongside the outstanding appearance of Hietala, gracing the track with his distinctive voice. The haunting song arrives with a high quality official video, luring the listener into the mesmerizing world of EXIT EDEN.
EXIT EDEN state:                            “We are back and very excited to re-introduce EXIT EDEN, starting with the single ‘Run!’ – our very first original song ever. It features the legendary Marko Hietala (ex-Nightwish), and we couldn’t be more honored! This is only one of the many facets of our new album, ‘Femmes Fatales’, and we can’t wait to share all of them with you.”
youtube
When ClĂ©mentine Delauney, Anna Brunner, Marina La Torraca and Amanda Somerville came together to form EXIT EDEN, topped by the release of their first album, Rhapsodies in Black, in summer 2017, it became immediately clear that this combination would be both powerful and magical! These four outstanding and independent female vocalists proved that symphonic heaviness can go hand in hand with pop music – dressing well-known classics in a yet unheard soundscape, and evoking more than just a covers album!   Now performing as a trio, EXIT EDEN‘s new full-length follows the path of its predecessor, as it contains six cover versions of famous cross-generational super-hits, but this time also shines by offering six original compositions. With one exception (“Dying in my Dreams”, co-written by Marina La Torraca), the remaining five original songs were brought to life by Anna Brunner and Hannes Braun (Kissin’ Dynamite), who is also responsible for recording, production and mixing, whereas the album was mastered by Jacob Hansen (Delain, Amaranthe, Volbeat, Destruction and many more).

Tumblr media
Self-confidently leading straight into the tempting world of EXIT EDEN, opening “Femme Fatale”,  “Buried in the Past” and “Hold Back Your Fear” conjure a mystical atmosphere with strings and orchestral elements, topped by complementary vocals uniting the sonic diversity of the all-femme trio. “Dying In My Dreams” and album closing “Elysium” set the tone as captivating mid-tempo tracks with intense choruses that speak straight to the heart. Moving further along the path where Rhapsodies in Black left off, EXIT EDEN picked the next selection of international super-hits – transforming them into their very own creation, yet still paying reverence to the originals on Femmes Fatales. “It’s a Sin” (Pet Shop Boys), “Separate Ways” (Journey), “DesanchantĂ©e” (MylĂšne Farmer), “Poison” (Alice Cooper), “Alone” (Heart) and “Kayleigh” (Marilion), re-arranged as undoubtably striking rock/symphonic metal compositions, form the common thread between the debut and Femmes Fatales.
With stellar vocals, an exceptional concept and high-quality production, EXIT EDEN have crafted another standout album that absolutely succeeds in expanding the identity of the supergroup even more, and gives fans the chance to experience three of the most beautiful and talented women in metal united as one on Femmes Fatales.
Femmes Fatales tracklisting: 1    Femme Fatale 2    It’s a Sin 3    Run! (feat. Marko Hietala) 4    Separate Ways 5    Buried in the Past 6    DĂ©senchantĂ©e 7    Dying in my Dreams 8    Poison 9    Alone 10  Hold Back Your Fear 11  Kayleigh 12  Elysium

Songs Written by Tom Hiddleston
Oh, yes. The songs of Adonis to his Aphrodite keep us going every day!
Tumblr media
The following songs have been written by earth angel/god Tom Hiddleston. No, he's not Loki, the god/angel of mischief. Instead, he's Adonis, the angel of beauty, truth and love. And I think that's reflected in his songs and their popularity.
SONGS BY TOM HIDDLESTON
Remember! This isn't a complete list! As I learn of more, I'll add them below. Think of them as love letters. Enjoy!
CENTURIES Fall Out Boy
TAKE ME TO CHURCH Hozier
MOMENT'S SILENCE Hozier
ALL OF ME John Legend
CONTROL Halsey
I WILL WAIT Mumford & Sons
NEON Livingston
DAYLIGHT David Kushner
UNTIL I FOUND YOU Stephan Sanchez
TRAMPOLINE Shaed (Kyle did Jauz remix)
LIGHTS Ellie Goulding
EASY TO LOVE Bryce Savage
COME UNDONE Duran Duran
ELECTRIC LOVE Borns
I LIKE THE WAY YOU KISS ME Artemas
SUPERSTAR Broods
I DON'T CARE Ed Sheeran
MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT Elle Duhe
SAY YOU WON'T LET GO James Arthur
MALIBU Miley Cyrus
PILLS N POTION Nicki Minaj
MR. SANDMAN Syml
FIRE MEETS FATE Ruelle
STRAWBERRY WINE Deana Carter
CHAINSMOKING YOUR LOVE Jacob Banks
HARLEYS IN HAWAII Katie Perry
Tumblr media
Tom Hiddleston has four variants left here at the end of Time. Wisconsin Tom played bluegrass on a banjo before I found him this summer. Thomas was jailed in the Sanctum Infinitum, so I don't know how many songs he was able to write from there. (He was allowed to film Crimson Peak since it was one of his timelines before he was jailed. And no, he didn't die. There was no sister. We lived happily ever after!)
That leaves Star Tom. Star Tom is a heavenly angel. He doesn't live down here on earth where 63% of angels live. Instead he is up in the heavens, looking down on us.
Why? Because, as Aphrodite, I couldn't stand it when Adonis (a Tom Hiddleston variant) was killed. So I begged for his resurrection and an immortal life. And the Lord granted my request. Tom was resurrected and became an angel, watching me from heave.
SONGS STAR TOM WROTE
And so, knowing that background, these songs of his will make a lot more sense... I'll add more as I come across them!
YELLOW Coldplay
A THOUSAND YEARS Christina Perri
DIE WITH A SMILE Gaga & Bruno Mars
Note On Duplicate Song Titles: A few of these songs may also be found on the list of another Order member if they both worked on the song together. The hit song We Pray, for example, was a team effort between so many Knights and angels that I didn't even bother listing it.

best acting in got imo were
sophie turner
alfie allen
jacob anderson
iain glenn**
gwendoline christie*
then there’s like “best supporting roles” which i include “mains for multiple seasons but not like A MAIN and not for more than half the show” and “A MAIN for a single season” and imo the best were
harry lloyd
sean bean
mark addy
diana rigg
charles dance
grey worm is not in this category, he’s in the main character category because i think they expanded him so much in the last few seasons he winds up being a stand in for like, every single meereenese, unsullied, astapori, or dothraki character she ever grows close to lmao, and so like jacob anderson was essentially frankensteining a character together & getting you very invested with an incredible, studied performance and he’s in almost EVERY SEASON so!!!
then there’s the “you would have been great at your CANON CHARACTER” performances
alexander siddig
stephan dillane
Ian McElhinney
richard madden
oona chaplin
ciaran hinds
michelle fucking fairley
when i tell you i’ll always be bitter about catelyn. i swear to fuck.
NOW. i know i sound like a contrarian because i’m not listing the people who actually won awards for this show BUT i’m talking consistently great. lena headey was phoning it in and i dont blame her when they put her in that fuck ass wig and gave her the same 3 monologues over and over but while she was doing that, sophie turner was 13-22 putting out an emmy award winning performance every year. i feel the same way about peter. i think lena, peter, and siddig were THEE most talented actors on this show, but when peter & lena phoned it in, they really did phone it in and siddig was basically a cameo, like the equivalent of having detective joseph gordon levitt be named robin and not tim.
*i actually thought of all the actors at the ending, GWENDOLINE CHRISTIE should have been getting more hype but the thing is show brienne is nothing like book brienne and gwendoline is just Too Old To Be Brienne. i think aging robb, dany, jon, & margaery all up to 18-19 in the first season negatively affected their story lines but brienne going from 18 to 32 is a HUUUUGE fucking jump. the character she played was interesting, layered in ways the writers probably didn’t see but gwen certainly did, but she wasn’t really book brienne.
**ian glenn was not playing jorah mormont in the show, ian glenn was playing the romantic archetype that george is criticizing completely straight, but that’s what is in the fucking script, because d&d don’t get jorah at all. he’s doing an amazing job acting a role that fundamentally does not exist in this series ajsjdj show jorah is an oc just like that olly kid that stole ed’s iconic moment.
