Nedzu's analysis of what All Might was looking for was rather surface level. On the other hand, All Might probably gave him zero guidance for what he was looking for in a successor.
Always smiling and making a space where others can laugh isn't all there is to All Might's ideals. All Might was a change to the system as it existed when he was young. He had a vision for something new and implemented it. He had the spirit of self-sacrifice from a young age and attempted to save everyone that he could reach.
Mirio lacks vision. Despite his flighty demeanor, Mirio has grounded realistic goals that fit neatly within the existing system. He did not believe it was possible to save everyone. He had no critique of the status quo. Izuku, without meaning to do so, challenged All Might's views on heroism when they first met. Mirio on the other hand was a safe pick that no one would oppose because he would change nothing.

thinking about kurapika and chrollo and parallels and this circle of horrors where they are the victims AND the tools of their fates.
they both think they are neither or more like they don't care about it at all. they don't see themselves as victims, and they see absolutely no other way to live other than this role they took upon themselves. kurapika had such a strong sense of identity and what he wanted to do with his life and understands himself perfectly at all times. he was a part of his clan, but he was more an individual than anything else. kuroro, on the other hand, never knowing, never thinking what his motives are, deliberately not understanding himself and desperately holding on to the spider. he can't be an individual but with others, he can be the spider.
and for both of them, it all started on vengeance. kurapika abandoned himself in order to become a tool, a weapon, to avenge his clan, and to collect scarlet eyes. he stopped being himself and became his people. kuroro didn't know his family, didn't know where he actually came from, didn't know who he was or what he was supposed to be. so growing up in meteor city, he held on to his people strongly. and in order to avenge and protect his people, he would become a tool, a weapon, he would give himself to them. he started being himself as he became his people.
kuroro could be something for his people. and kurapika could be nothing for his people.
kurapika took on the role of judgement for vengeance. kuroro took on the role of villain for vengeance. kurapika acted his part by diminishing everything he was, and kuroro acted his part by filling up his identity with it.
but one thing stays clear and fixed with them throughout it all. they would do anything for their people. for whomever they consider their people. "he'll put his friends before his mission." a weakness kuroro sees in kurapika so quickly and so easily. but the same thing he considers a strength in himself. "i am not your top priority. it is the spider that must be kept alive." as long as his people are alive, his identity will live on. and as long as kurapika is alive, his people’s identity will live on.
"now you will get to experience the pain of losing your home." kuroro (and the spiders) killing the kurta clan set this parallel in motion for himself as the circle began for kurapika. and (speculatively) kurta clan hurting his people was what set the circle in motion for kuroro, too. now thinking about where they are in the story and how their end could be, it is very clear that they are finally ending up in a place where they mirror each other (as they have from the beginning) and they can recognise it in each other and themselves. kurapika ending up empty after his mission and kuroro ending up empty after losing spiders. both of them purposeless and with no self left outside of it. in a way, this is how the circle ends. "i can hear that he accepted death." they walk with death every day with no fear and full acceptance and after losing the only thing they live for, not even something they hold on to because they don't see a point in being alive outside of the fact that they must keep going for their people, for their purpose, and if not then there's no reason to exist, they are meaningless.
kuroro's vengeance left kurapika all alone, with everyone he knew dead, and feeling hollow at the end. by fate, he ended up all alone, with everyone he knew dead and feeling hollow at the end.
and at that point, they will have to start a new page and build a new self for themselves.

I'm confused as some may see Mike and El potentially having a big happy making out scene as something positive for the byler just because it is parallel (another) with other ships like Stancy. Like, it doesn’t matter that this is another big parallel? Jonathan and Nancy, after Stancy’s biggest scene, became a couple only after a season and a half, and all this time the conflict between Nancy and Steve became stronger. By the way, i’m not trying to somehow erase the evidence of the byler, I’m just confused because this particular parallel simply doesn’t make sense as a positive one simply because the context of the story is different from what Stancy had..
Hi anon! Thanks for the ask. This’ll be a bit long lmao
Honestly I don’t even think that leak is real anyway, so I’m not paying much mind to it when it comes to my own theories. There really isn’t much context, so it’s kind of difficult to extrapolate much based off of it.
Personally, I just can’t really imagine the show putting that sort of scene in there. I think people are drawing those parallels because makeout scenes aren’t really the show’s style, unless it’s to communicate something negative. Sta/ncy is performative and lacks genuineness, Bob dies, and Mike and El’s s3 scene is uncomfortable to watch, is shot to be vaguely voyeuristic, and is undercut with Hopper’s discomfort. So to answer your question, I guess that’s the theme people are picking up on when they say it could be a parallel. However, I agree that people turning it around into something positive for byler are also doing a lot of assumption of context in order to place it among their pre-existing theories, so it’s hard to tell all round.
As I’ve said though, I truly don’t think it’s real. I find it hard to place how it would work in the season on the whole, especially since Mike and El don’t appear to have many scenes together past the first episode, since we know Finn and Millie are on extremely different schedules. They’re playing so coy about it too and just seem to be bouncing ideas off each other, so I don’t think it comes from a genuine source. And of course this comes up right after that love interest “leak” for Will 🙄 (I don’t think rejectedscooper, who said that, is legit either, for the record).
So yeah, it doesn’t surprise me that people are trying to figure out how it would work into their theories, and there definitely is a pattern with how the show portrays these things, but without context there is no way to know, and I’m really not going to trust this leak when Mike and El aren’t spending the majority of the season together, it seems to be at odds with what we know about their storylines moving forward, and the source is dyersfilms of all people and “I saw it with my own eyes.” Be fr

Dysprosium, Mary Soon Lee
dysprosium, AN 66, is a silvery-white rare earth metal. its name is derived from the greek dysprositos, meaning “hard to get at”, owing to the difficulty in separating and isolating this rare earth element. dysprosium is used to measure neutron flux, to fuel reactors, and to activate phosphors. terfenol-d is a magnetorestrictive alloy, meaning that it changes shape when a magnetic field is applied, and is used to manufacture underwater acoustic systems.

You wake up to a terrible storm. It tears your window open, glass shattering and falling to the floor and rain and cold wind rushing into the cottage; outside, thunder strikes, and somewhere in the mountain range, a tree falls to the ground. Even as far from the ocean as you are, you can hear it roaring, or perhaps something roaring in it, and
You wake up to the sun in your eyes. Your window is wide open, and outside a tree sways in the wind. The day is bright and new, deep golden light filling your room and the world and warming your skin. All around the village, doors are creaking as people begin to go about their mornings. A bird is chirping on your windowsill, and the trees are a deep green in the late summer, and
You wake up to a light breeze running over your cheek. It is cold in your room, and your sheets are cool against your skin; the window is cracked open, the spring-green leaves of a tree dancing in the breeze outside. The clouds are dark and heavy, and as you come out of the blur between sleeping and waking, the first few raindrops land on your windowsill. Your neighbour slams their mailbox shut, the clang of metal against metal echoing through the forest.
Perhaps it is all a dream, or perhaps it is all real.
It does not get easier to distinguish between the two.
In the mornings and evenings, when the sun is low and the air cold enough to give you goosebumps, and when the moon and stars are out and you find yourself too deeply lost in the mists of prophecy to sleep, you linger in the stables to bury your head in your horse’s fur and thread your fingers through its mane. Among it all, your horse is tangible and real: one of all too few things, these days, that you know to truly be so. It speaks to you more than ever in those silent hours of the night, quietly letting you know that you exist and that you are here, in body and mind. It is a welcome assurance, for the times have long passed when your visions were different enough from reality that you could tell one from the other on your own: now, the gentle evening wind against your cheek no longer lets you know that the stars you are seeing really are in the same place in space and time as you, and the hot sun on your back during a midday ride no longer tells you with certainty that the birdsong is truly being carried to you through the rustling tree crowns.
Perhaps it all a dream, or perhaps it is all real.
At times, you wonder whether it even truly matters. Real or not, the world is beautiful.
