when you ask a restaurant for spicy food and instead of cooking it in a way that makes the end result hotter they just obliterate all the flavor by dumping heaps of sriracha all over it after the fact

#i will and have literally just thrown the whole dish away and started over somewhere else #if u dump Sriracha all over something to make it spicy I'm never ordering anything spicy from u again #like. are u tasting this..? is this a balance of flavors to you..? 🧍🏾‍♀️ if you must use sriracha can u at least use it towards the end of #the actual cooking process itself so it has time to mix with other flavors and seasoning? i cannot taste anything else!!#u might as well have cooked it plain then dumped this all over it for all I care ૮ – ﻌ–ა where are the sauces the salsas the array of spices #you can make things hot AND flavorful 🤌🏾 you can make something spicy AND nuanced #anyways I'm thinking about this bc i ordered spicy mapo tofu and it is spicier in a way i can't pin down And has a stronger #peppercorn flavor ☝🏾 this is how u handle spicy food perfectly‚ imo. it is my view that you have experience with the different #spices n seasonings and subsequent sauces if you can make that spicy during the actual cooking process #and idk shows more intention and care to the cooking process To Me and the spicy lvl is taken into consideration from the start #i KIND OF fw Sriracha but i think it becomes overpowering very quickly‚ i just want a few light globs of it at a time #an Accent of Sriracha 🤌🏾 a taste that is present and pronounced but doesn't take away from anything else #i take my cooking and spicy food seriously ૮ – ﻌ–ა there are SO many good ways to make ur food hotter. this ain't it #it's 4am and I'm about to go to sleep so these r just late night ramblings of a girl picking at her leftovers like this is it.. peak spicy #a truly well executed dish 🤌🏾 thank you i love you. satisfying..

i made korean tacos for dinner (no recipe just vibes + what i had in the fridge) and they were unbelievably delicious. my god.

#with a lil hazy ipa on the side!!!!!!#i forgot how EASY and GOOD tacos are to just have fun with.#for the curious: i picked up some stir fry beef at the store and while i chopped cilantro/onion/radish/cukes i let it sit in a combo of:#gochujang + fish sauce + rice vinegar (a dash) + garlic + chili powder + cumin + black pepper + salt + lime juice + onion powder #(just a bunch of stuff i had laying around - use what you have or can get)#then after the veggies were chopped and ready to go i tossed all the meat in a wok and cooked it up #THEN after pulling out the meat i threw a couple tortillas in the wok one at a time and sprinkled some cheese on one side to melt and get #a lil crispy...and also mixed some mayo + sriracha into a sauce for drizzling #(i would've used sour cream instead of mayo if i'd had any but mine was bad T-T)#also i'm out if kimchi or i would've put that on top too. god that would've been so good. i'm kinda mad abt it #anyway then i filled the tortillas with the meat + cilantro + onion + cucumber + radish and drizzled on some sauce.#divine. transcendent. revelatory.#i absolutely love how well korean (honestly a lot of different asian) seasonings and flavor profiles pair with mexican foods and flavors.#CULINARY SYNERGY!!!!#i know this is not a new observation but it still brings me joy every time i remember #anyway fair warning i like spicy food so this is spicy. obviously.

hissho sushi has absolutely no right being so fucking expensive for how ass it is

#red rambles #the sushi restaurant near my high school could give me eight pieces of sashimi for ten dollars. why is this one a) barely any fish b) not #very good and c) $16 #like in fairness the reason i went to that specific sushi restaurant so often was because i was broke and it was the only place i could get #a full meal for $5 #and i know their prices are not repressentative of other restaurants and chains #however they are also fucking insanely good and im way too spoiled for spicy tuna anywhere else #because they actually make their own spicy sauce in house instead of just using sriracha mayo like every other store #its so much better its not even funny

i've been searching for chili garlic sauce or sambal related sauce ever since the sriracha disappearance and finally they have it on shelf at a local chinese grocery store and i eat so much of it

when will we as a society be free from the death grip Sriracha has on restaurants when you want your food spicy.

bestie u used all these flavorful spices and sauces and you're overpowering all of them by just drowning it in Sriracha, i can barely taste anything else.
