I haven't drawn my favourite Kirby character in a while, so here is his Highness, Prickle Felt.
I've been in an art funk lately, and nothing feels creatively right. So, I've decided to try out speed painting! I've always wanted to try it, and after a day of teaching myself how to do video editing, here are the fruits of my labour. Please enjoy!
I am interested in making speed paintings or time lapses, even if it is only for myself (I've stopped registering what I do when painting, so it is interesting to see this). If you have any suggestions for other things I can speed paint, I will keep them in mind.
The finished art piece is here:

Happy May the Fourth to my fellow Star Wars fans. Idk if I'll manage a speed paint today like I did last year, but here, have it again. I'm still really pleased with this one since I did it in the time it takes to watch the movie.

Speedpaints attempt #3! A Hittite soldier.
I'm getting the hang of slap chopping. I really like the gritty look it gives off!
Stay tuned for more minis!

Note: metallic Speedpaints do not have the transparency that all the other colors do! Add highlights and shadows manually (which I need to do).

Just curious because it’s on the mind—for those of you who also paint ‘slowly’ or usually have long work times per piece, how do you find your place without fundamentally changing everything about yourself and your work flow?

Speed Paints 2.0 a Review Party II
Dear Readers, I’ve pretty much finished the mini I was working on (I didn’t do any basing yet),and the results are… mixed. Here’s the mini: The Good -The paints go on smoothe and dry fairly quickly, enabling multiple coats to go on easily. -The paints show up well and do what they are supposed to do without reactivation of the paints between coats. -The color range that Army Painter has in…

Just got the new speed paint yesterday. This is the first one I tried.

So a few things about this is that it's a good paint set but I have a few complaints about it. First, I'm not a fan of the silver paint. I'm used to using acrylic metalics. Secondly, I have a bit of a gripe with the bottles that whenever i shake them, they have a bit of spill from the cap when I open it, ending up wasting more than I need. Lastly, the paint names are a bit vague, and I'll have to use throwaway models see how they really look. But aside from that, overall the set is good. I'll need more practice with it.

I just finished up painting these two Egyptian soldiers! The one on the left (orange) was done by hand traditionally, whereas the other one was done using Army Painter Speed Paints.
Which is your favorite? Let me know!
Overall, I liked how the Speed Paints (SP) did. However, didn't get the color gradation quite right when dry brushing the mini before painting it. Next time, I'll be more generous with my grey mid tone!
Practice is Practice. I now know how SP works and am ready to try again with a different mini.
I recorded all my work and will post a video on YouTube in the nearby future. Stay tuned!
