OKay last post about parkour civ I promise, but--

The parkour noobs, they dont get to see the sky. The only world they live and die knowing is one of dirt. They look up at night and they cant see the stars, they cant see anything above them. They dont have anything to reach for.

And, do think theres myths about the upper level ? Passed down from those that knew a world before the new parkour champion took over. Do they tell tales of a sky that is filled with diamonds ? That sparkle and if you reach up real high you can touch them ? Surely no one believes that, theyve never seen anything but dirt, and everybody knows theres no real way up.

I can’t help but wonder if, despite being in his thirties, this is Alan’s first time falling in love.

He has no idea what to do at any point and is generally acting like a love struck teenager with the added pressure that Jeff is just…so much younger than him. So now not only does he not know what to do, he seems well aware of the fact that way he would try going about it, is VERY different from the way people Jeff’s age would.

Better World Ford

After having to live in a lead lined room for 2 years, just to keep Bill from possessing him, Ford took to exploring a lot. Which is why he decided to order a custom “rain-trenchcoat”. He also treats the anomalies in containment better than he would have in the past. Something about living in containment made him understand what you miss from the outside world, including plants and sunlight.

Better World Bill, instead of removing the pain of getting ripped apart, left Stanford in that pain when he threatened to send someone to steal his eyes in 72 hours. The only silver lining about that was that Ford didn’t get to burn the journal pages about it; and Stanley found them soon after arriving and fighting with him.

Better world Ford was eventually cured of that chronic pain that no painkillers could alleviate, but he did have lasting side effects. Sometimes he doesn’t realize how bad an injury is because the pain is so minimal compared to what Bill did. He had to relearn lab safety and to use an oven mitt when you pick up a hot pan, for example. It’s slowly getting better, both because Stan and Mcgucket are there to remind him, and because students need to learn the safe way to do experiments.

Ford was also training himself during the 2 years he lived with the chronic pain. He wanted to be able to walk, run, and fight so when they got the chance, he could help kill Cipher. It wasn’t until after he was cured of the pain with outside help that he realized he had a leg injury. The chronic pain had made him struggle to walk, which was one of the first things that threw Stanley off when he arrived in Gravity Falls. So nobody realized Ford had hurt his leg for real.

When Stanley, Ford, and Fiddleford went to the nightmare realm and killed Bill, Ford took the last piece of Euclidia back with him. Some alien wizards helped Stanford contain the Euclidia atom in a durable orb and build the redwood cane he uses.

He kept the atom as a reminder that Bill’s world and the people living there died. It’s a reminder not to go too far in the name of science, ego, or answers. And that Bill stayed a monster that would have burned the redwood forests of Gravity Falls if he got in.

Makoto truly is The Character Ever. He wears a silly mask, and has a collection of other silly masks. He rode in on a balloon to rescue the main cast. He sometimes bathes fully clothed. He's the main antagonist. He's the CEO of a mega corporation. He kidnaps criminals from around the world and mass produces them into meat buns. He has two completely made up backstories for his mask. He sent the detectives a video of a fake terrorist attack. He rebuilt an entire submarine perfectly. He drives a luxury car with no license. He's 4'11". He caused the nonstop rain in Kanai Ward. One of his likes is raw ham. He's technically a three year old. He's a homunculus clone of the main character, who is considered the world's greatest mind.

To address the obvious theme here: friendship. Yes, they’re also all adorable and Sakura deserves cute things, but primarily they’re a good representation of his canon-typical character growth — as in, you’re going to see these babies evolve at crucial moments during Sakura’s journey, and almost exclusively to show he’s opened his heart to another traveling companion.

And then there’s Absol, my personal favorite misunderstood Pokemon. A so-called harbinger of disaster who’s actually vital to preventing loss of life and resources. It’s my favorite pick for Sakura because it’s just so damn fitting for who he is and how his friends come to see him.

I’m leaving the last spot open for now but I’m leaning towards having him run into Type: Null at some point (don’t ask me how, this is all vibes and no plot at this point). It’s another friendship evolution so it’s especially good for this line-up, plus I appreciate that its in-game relevance lines up with Sakura’s canon themes again.

if Darius ever starts seriously dating post-canon, i imagine that Eber would give the shovel talk, but it is a typical cartoon shovel talk that can be played for laughs: Oh, Eber is just protective even if a little scary.

But then Raine gives the shovel talk too, and they are very polite, but it is understood that they would actually kill if necessary.
