Here's some eeveelution stuff because why not

I've been drawing some evolutions for a while now and decided to share them I hope you like my characters!

[You're going to see that I love incorporating the shiny designs in these characters]

So this is Copper she was originally going to be a little one-off drawing, I was just like "I should draw an Eevee from memory today" and that's how she came to be. She's an energetic kid and wants to be a good battler just like her mom.

[also all of the characters don't have stats or natures or anything like that yet at least if I do come up with something like that I might put it in a separate post. I'd also like to hear your opinions because I'm not very knowledgeable on that stuff]

This is Copper's mom Stella! She's a bit hard on Copper but she means well. She's actually a descendant of the Espeon in red's team. She's stoic and serious the majority of the time.

This is Wave, Copper's dad! He's a more go with the flow type of guy he's extremely chill Copper actually gets most of her traits from him even though she lives with her mom the most. (they're not divorced or anything they just have different trainers) he's kinda like bandit from bluey.

This is Spark. Copper's uncle, Wave's brother. He's the oldest out of the three so that means that he worries and panics the most. He doesn't have any animosity or resentment to his siblings he just grew up with the mentality that he always had to be the "protector, the leader, the one in charge"

This is Ruby. Copper's aunt She's the second oldest and actually decided to be in the show biz, despite what happened to her parents. She was actually the first of the three siblings to get a trainer and it's kinda strained her relationship with her siblings. She rarely talks to them anymore, they still care about each other of course but it was such a weird feeling. Despite the horrible thing that happened to their parents why would she want to pursue that career?

And so that concludes my showcase of my Pokemon OCs! They were really fun to work on and I can't wait to make more stuff for them in the future.

hitoya’s the kind of drunk that does stupid shit when he hits his threshold, like feeling upstaged by jakurai playing piano so he plays drums with tableware lmao but he also has no recollection of getting that faded, like that one time he apparently woke up in a ditch and covered in mud after a night out but deadass didn’t remember how he got there so by all means, he and jakurai are the exact same drunk, it’s just that jakurai has a shit threshold so he gets drunk faster than hitoya but if hitoya were to ever get shitfaced first and jakurai somehow drank something shortly after hitoya hit that point i’m pretty sure whatever city they’re drinking will simply cease to exist due to their combined forces of—

So, when Luz was revived, it was the Titan’s magic that allowed that to happen. But the Titan’s magic left her after she defeated Belos. So, what if that had ended her revival?

Salamander Spark, if I could eat art I’d slurp down the Mona Lisa like so much chicken soup, but I would enjoy your work like I would a box of Lindt Master Chocolatier Collection. These pieces are giving Dark Chocolate & Orange Caramel and Almond & Hazelnut Soft Nougat.

Love Vee bonding with her other two siblings. King’s taking this so seriously, and Hunter’s so excited to help.

(Oh, and sorta related, but I really like the idea of Hunter being decently skilled at making good-looking clothes, but he himself is the biggest fashion disaster in two realms)

We’ve got an heartwarming reunion as well! At long last can the basilisks live without fear of the mad tyrant. My favorite little detail is probably Camila in the background, wiping her tears. She must be so happy for her snake daughter!

I did some drawings for #Vee week 2024 prompts, but I never posted them. I drew both to be accompanied by short fics, but I never got around to finishing that part 😓

So here they are, accompanied by summaries I made. Maybe I can take another crack at these stories? They have some potential, and it would be a shame to waste it.

Day 4: Not a Monster/Grom Night

It's two days until grom night! Vee doesn't have anything to wear!! MASHA PERSONALLY INVITED HER!!! Enlisting the help of Luz's other demonic family members to help with her wardrobe (She could shapeshift a dress for herself, but Masha deserves for her to go all out, don't they?), she learns that there is a lot more in common between her, the young titan, and the teenage grimwalker than she thought.

Day 7: Family/Extinct

A heartwarming family reunion!!! While searching for straggling survivor’s of belos' titanic possession, Luz discovers the hiding place of two new faces. Faces that are incredibly familiar to her Basilisk Sister! Stories are told, tears are shed, and long-lost siblings finally get to embrace.

Part 2

I woke up on the cold streets in the middle of nowhere.. " Where am i.." Holding my head trying to stand up, taking a look around, seeing creatures everywhere. " What the.." I blinked a few times not believing my eyes. I turned my head and saw a shop with mirrors and took a look at my reflection.

shocked to see my own reflection.. White with red marks on my body.. then i turned around and asked a girl "Little girl can you tell me where i am?" The little girl just laughed. " You're new around here?" She took a drink of her milkshake. I just nodded.

" Wel.. Welcome to hell! " She laughed walking away from me " Goodluck newbie" I stood there in shock.

How did I end up here? Wat.. it was that bastard.. looking at my red spots indicating wounds. It's all his fault...I felt my knees get weak as I fell down on them next to the shop.

I don't know How many hours have passed by but out of nowhere a girl walked by me taking an interest in me. "let me guess.. your new?" She said chewing her gum looking at her phone.. she's probably addicted. I nodded.

" You've got good bone structure and a taste in fashion.." She cupped my face looking at it.. " You wanna work for me?" she let go letting me stand up. I took a look at her clothing and thought it must be an influencer or something.

" Whatcha say dear... I need a yes or no." She said firmly and I nodded without saying anything. "Follow me." As she walked away I followed her.

Walking into a building called VoxTech? Following her into the elevator as she presses the highest button and scans the card. "Names Velvette.." She checked her phone again, typing away.

"My name is Y/N." I fidgeted my hands anxiously. The elevator door opens revealing a room filled with Photos of her and 2 other guys.

"VOX VAL! get your asses here" She yelled into her phone. Dramatic much.

Seeing a spark out of a tv turn into a guy with a tv head while the other was nowhere to be found. "VAL NO JOKES!" She yelled as smoke entered the room. Turning into a man with 4 arms.

" This is the girl i was talking about.. take a look at her" she walked off sitting on the couch nearby checking her phone.

" And what do we have here.." taking a look at me while he checks me out breathing smoke into my shoulders feeling his breath giving me shivers, "your a pretty one aren't you.." feeling his breath closer to me M" Doll..." walking to his desk. "And what is your talent?" The TV headed guy asked me. "i.." Speechless as I left a shaky breath shivering.

"No time for chit chat.. I'll figure her talent out, follow me me newbie" velvette said walking to the room, opening the door revealing a whole wardrobe " FIrst let's get you dressed.. Cant have them see you with us wearing normie clothes can we.." She smirked, pushing me in the room. " Pick one.. I'll be outside." I looked at the clothes, feeling fine silky clothes. None of them caught my interest.

Looking in the mirror at the end of the room touching my clothes that I currently have on. Imagining the clothes i used to wear. and suddenly my hands start to glow. and they started to make the clothes i was thinking off. and soon I was holding them.

20 Minutes passed and I heard a knock " R you done yet dear.." I opened the door walking out in baggy jeans with a Crop top with a window revealing my cleavage a bit and a Jacket with fur. White boots to match the white bag.

" You look fabulous dear.. Where did you get these? I don't have these in my small closet.." I finally let go of her phone pointing at my clothes.

" I think i figured out my talent.." showing her my hands. " Welcome to the Vees my dear.."

Back in high school I did philosophy and one of the topics we spent some time on was the "Philosophy of the Self" which focused on the various schools of thought around what the concept of "self" actually was as well as the existence/non-existence of the soul.

We focused primarily on Western philosophers (many of whom opted for some variation of "the self" being in something of a state of permanence and the existence of an unchanging soul) at the time but I remember being particularly with Hume's theory of the self (which is still the theory I most closely subscribe to), also known as the "bundle theory" which can be summarised as follows:

“nothing but a bundle or collection of different perceptions, which succeed each other with an inconceivable rapidity, and are in a perpetual flux and movement […] The mind is a kind of theatre, where several perceptions successively make their appearance; pass, repass, glide away, and mingle in an infinite variety of postures and situations.” [1]

In other words, the self is not in any way permanent or stable (although that is how we often believe/experience it to be) and is instead made up of a "bundle" of beliefs, experiences, and thoughts which are in a state of flux, responding to and influenced by the changes we experience throughout our lives.

Interestingly, while Hume's concept of the self ran/runs counter to most of the (heavily) Plato and Christian-influenced Western theories of self and soul, it is actually somewhat similar to the Buddhist conception of the self, the concept of anatta or “no-self” (although there are also significant differences).

In Buddhism, "every aspect of life is impermanent and all elements of the universe are in a continual process of change and transition, a process that includes each self as well" which is made up of the dynamic interactions of five different elements: "physical form, sensation, conceptualization, dispositions to act, and consciousness." In other words "[t]he self can best be thought of as a flame that is continually passed from candle to candle, retaining a certain continuity but no real personal identity." [2]

So what does all this have to do with Century of Love?

Well it means that Vee can be the reincarnation of Vad without being Vad herself.

In fact, that's the point.

When San asked for Vad to come back to him, he was thinking of the self (and as such the idea of love) as an unchanging constant, as something permanent which can pass through the changes of time (and death) and come out the other side exactly the same. This belief in turn is mirrored in how he himself has remained nearly completely unchanged (as @heretherebedork puts it nicely "stagnant") from when we first encountered him despite having lived for more than a whole century.

But, as the show clearly shows us and Vee tells us, that's not how it works, that's not how it should work. Nothing is permanent. Change is part of life, it's part of existing and even the most comfortingly constant of things will (and needs) to change eventually otherwise they risk becoming stagnant, unhealthy and rotten.

Vee has lived such a different life from Vad in pretty much every way possible it would be impossible for them to be the same or even a similar person. San has lived such different lives from the San we first met, it should have been impossible for him to be the same person.

TLDR: Century of Love explores the Buddhist concept of the "self" and the impermanence of the existence through a BL lakorn and I'm here for it. Nothing is permanent, embrace the ever changing world and your ever changing self.

I've been enjoying reading folks' theories about whether Vee is Vad; @lurkingshan has laid down bets that they are the same person, while @he-is-lightning-in-a-bottle made a great case for why they shouldn't be, @italianpersonwithashippersheart gave an explanation as to who she could be instead (a test), and @happypotato48 made clear he'd be mad if they are. @heretherebedork noted that it's likely Vee is Vad but even if this girl is the reincarnation of Vad, she's still not the same person. @babyangelsky made the point that whether or not they're the same person, what's important is San making the choice; but also it's likely this girl was sent by the villain who is likely not dead yet.

Gonna add my own clown theory to the mix: I think everyone is right (I remain on brand at all times). Vee is Vad because San prayed to a goddess and got his soul tied to theirs and the way the magic has been functioning, we would need another explanation if they weren't. But, at the same time, Vee is not Vad because people are not the same just because of reincarnation; They are no longer the same person. And it was important for San to fall in love with Vee for Vee; even though it was the magic/fate that brought them into one another's paths, San still had to choose to open his heart to him. I also think it's important for him to choose Vee over the memory of Vad. So I think this Vad doppleganger is a kind of test, though possibly from a mortal source (I like Leah's theory above that it was the villain who sent her and I thought the same when I watched the episode; having Anastasia vibes of someone being primed with info to pass as a lost relative lol). I am going to go a little more wild on the dreams to say I think the dreams are just his own imagination and insecurities and uncertainties. He thought he was sure, but then he wasn't. That's why it's important for San to make the decision to love Vee not because he thinks he's Vad, but because he loves him enough to be willing to be with him even if he isn't Vad.

As long as San wrestles with that question, I will honestly be happy no matter whether Vee is Vad or not. Because the point is, it doesn't matter.

the real reason why velvette had to go to the overlord's meeting is that the other two are even more insufferable;

vox gets wayyy too into his presentation (see: climbing onto chairs and sparking), at once mansplaining and assuming advanced knowledge, resulting in getting extremely wound up when the other overlords aren't as impressed as he wants them to be.

valentino comes with a packed lunch and a body cam, with explicit instructions to shut the fuck up. he sits with the automatic powerpoint that vox prepared playing until he gets bored and starts saying whatever to tick the other overlords off. he singlehandedly wins the idgaf war.

funnily enough, the body cam footage is the most useful, but the other vees are deeply aware that someone will actually murder val one day.
