Batlantern hc: Hal doesn't so much keep a secret identity to protect his family from his enemies (because his enemies are mostly in outer space anyway) he does it because he has ZERO interest in becoming famous. He does not want anything to do with that.
And then he falls in love with a billionaire and becomes famous anyway and he hates it so. Fucking. Much. And it's not even for something cool. But he loves Bruce enough to put up with the media circus.
This is basically like every FabulaRasa fic ever (lovingly). Hal is always trying to reckon with fame in those. And I eat it up every single time.

I grew up watching reruns of the 2000s Justice League TV show. But still, I think I will always visualize the founding JLA members as the core eight from the comics. Yes, I said eight. We don't disrespect Snapper Carr here. Superman, Batman (the silver age style batman), Wonder Woman, Barry Allen, Hal Jordan, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Snapper Carr. Based out of Happy Harbour, they are the JLA to me.
When Snapper and J'onn were written out of the JLA comics, I lost it. Those two define the beautiful innocence of the Silver Age Justice League. Shame on Denny O'Neil for ruining Gardner Fox's comic! The JLA is always going to be about those eight core members. The heart and soul of the team. I will stand by that, 100%.
