PLEASE give us more dundy headcanons of his relationships with people or anything really your mind is expansive and beautiful

omg ty. twirls hair. to preface i truly haven't thought about this That Much outside of specific au-dependent scenarios so tgis will probably be very disorganized but i'll do my best

i think he has like. really mild one sided beef with crozier. he respects him a lot and begrudges how much he comes to like him, but for a while, especially while they're still on the ships, he haaaates him. he gets really protective of his friends, and hates the way crozier frustrates james and burdens ned by isolating himself and leaving them to essentially run and lead the ship / expedition without his senior authority.

dundy's got some real fierce blind loyalty to all his friends, but Especially james. he hates crozier on james' behalf because he knows james can't fully hate him himself. he encourages james to yell at crozier and tell him off etc etc etc. he's the "aren't you tired of being nice all the time? don't you just wanna go apeshit?" voice in james' ear. he tells james that crozier isn't worth his time and doesn't deserve his respect etc etc etc. and Then. when they're out of the ships out hauling on the ice and james and crozier are becoming actual friends, dundy starts getting jeaaalous. but like he keeps it to himself because he knows it's a good thing that their captains are getting along even if he doesn't like it. regardless he probably gets really clingy with james and more affectionate and posessive and pathetic. i think he's the most pathetic about james. that's his #1 guy who he'd go to the ends of the earth with, not out of duty but out of love. fully committed to never leaving his side if only he has the power to do so. he tries to shoulder as much of james' burden as he can and support him in any way possible, bc he knows him better than anyone else. mostly

and for ned i think he gets a whole different kind of protective over. dundy is someone i see very much wanting everyone he considers in his group to feel included and seen and cared for (he probably would listen to hodgson yap and yap for hours and be genuinely engaged in the conversation where most others would be completely clocked out), and when ned starts visiting erebus more for command meetings without crozier or coming to steal james' alcohol and whatnot, he just. attatches to him and essentially assimilates him into the erebus family unit. constantly makes sure ned is taking careof himself and getting enough sleep often by seeing to it himself. he'd probably sleep on top of ned if it meant ensuring he rested for any prolonged duration of time, because he's just dramatic and unserious like that. i hate terms like mom friend or mother hen but he is kinda those things. he sees a sad neglected adult man and goes "is anyone gonna emotionally support and adore that?" and doesn't wait for an answer. he gets even More pissed at crozier for making ned deal with everything alone and burdening him with so much responsibility. he's kind of an eternal optimist "we always deserve better than these horrid circumstances" type guy. perfect support for ned's misery. i also think he really pitys ned, and i think he's someone unafraid of pitying people. he doesn't see it as like. condescending or belittling. he sees things in the cold harsh reality that they are and wants everyone to be able to be happier than they are. and i think that is fully epitomized in his relationship with ned

with gore it's a little more difficult because gore has like 8 seconds of screentime in the whole show (which is only slightly less than dundy's 12 seconds, alas). i think gore is incredibly competent and reliable and calm and reassuring and sweet and attentive and caring and dundy just adores him. i mesn i think dundy adores a lot of people he has a heart full of love but yk. they can depend on each other and relax in each other's presence and really trust each other to be Capable and Alert and feel very safe around each other. i think dundy flirts with gore more than anyone else (i don't think he really has to Flirt with james in the typical way it's more unspoken action or dramatic displays or direct love confessions) and gets really theatrical with it. something abt gore being generally quite calm and polite and dundy trying really hard to make him properly laugh. in an unrealistic scenario where gore didn't get merc'd immediately, he'd also rope gore into his ned little defense league and they're all veryvery close. dogpiling for warmth and such. they try and kidnap ned and not let him go back to terror because they can treat him better and keep him safer than anyone over there (smth smth dundy getting selfish and disregarding the greater good in favor of the well being of those he is closest with and prioritizes in his mind). in the realistic situation where gore Does get merc'd i think dundy loses a lot of trust in himself and his own ability because he bounced so much of his confidence off of gore. not to mention every person he loses would Majorlyyyy damage him emotionally. if he ever found out crozier used gore's eulogy on sir john i think he'd flip tf out

like i said earlier i think he very much thinks of himself as having a Group. he's very outgoing and loud and friendly and affectionate within his group and his people but Isn't Suuuper outgoing outside of it? like at a party or social event he'd rather talk to his two friends for three hours than go meet new people, not because he's shy or anything but because he just likes his own people so much, why should he go find someone else? that being said he's very accepting of new people within the Group and will gladly accept new people into his heart, if they deserve it. i think he's got some standards for that though. he thinks very very highly of his people. and Within his group he tries to make sure everybody is included and seen/heard etc. at full command dinners with all the lieutenants he's gonna be asking like irving questions and nudging shoulders and elbows to make sure no one feels left out

also he loves theater. he and james love doing theater together. he's just as much a fan of drama and theater as james is. awwww

I think alot of people are confusing the fans that dislike the new DMC (Netflix) show with gatekeeping (the main franchise) and that’s the complete opposite of what they are trying to do.

It’s just—this adaptation—will surely CONFUSE the new fans that are entering and getting a grasp of what this series IS about.

And nobody wants new fans to be left out in the dark because OBVIOUSLY its not their fault they don’t know the actual lore. It’s netflix’s fault for pushing for an alternative timeline/plot/characters to promote a game series that already has a solid plot and point to make—kill the f*cking demons and save humanity.

“But they didn’t make that big of a change—.” Unfortunately they did, and what you think is minor, is actually pretty f*cking major.

I also know alot of you just wanted some new fresh story on this series but they might as well have just made new characters instead of chewed on all of the original characters just to fit this military au while “retelling” the original story of the series.

Netflix had absolutely no problem making shows that followed the ACTUAL CANON (like One Piece) and see how barely anybody complained? Because they got what they asked for and respected the original—along with the fact that the original creator had a hand in supervising.

I’m just like you, and we want to enjoy the content too. But we can’t enjoy seeing our favorite characters get washed up with writing like this, regardless of it being an alt universe. I doubt any other fandom wants to see this happen on their turfs either.

So in point of this, if you are a new fan, welcome to the fandom and be prepared to be confused by all the older fans here who are b*tching about it like me. Consider buying the games while they’re on a 75% sale right now (only about $8! for each of the games along with some of the games being even cheaper), or try watching most of the clips of cutscenes from the original games on youtube or something, it’s not so bad. They even have mangas and novels. It’s a great game series and it would be a shame for you to miss out on the actual *canon* because all you’re familiar with is the Netflix version right now.

Like it was so genuine. You could see it in Phil’s eyes how excited he was to give Dan the present. And then Dan’s immediate JOY like he wasn’t playing it out for the camera it was a look of “my boyfriend remembered this ridiculous niche thing that i wanted months ago and love it”

Sorry for rambling but I can't just thinking about this and I need people to listen to me I see Wanda smut fics all the time but I can't find post about analyzing and appreciating her character ( I see other fandoms do it with their fav characters I want one with Wanda too) Everything about Wanda's character is making me so freaking sad like i hate that half of her fans only care about her powers and that she's hot... she's more than that..I know it's fiction and it's not that serious but she makes me insane

She has every reason to be angry and be a Villain. because she didn't ask to suffer she didn't ask to be powerful and when she try to do something good and she did, the government put her in the raft everyone acts like she throws the bomb on the building on purpose when it's the only way to save Captain America and everyone around them. People blamed her for her own suffering and blamed her for a tragedy she didn't even cause, She can never come home because the house where all of her happy memories is made doesn't exist. She tried do everything to prove to everyone that she is good and it's not enough. The girl who only wanted people to accept her, the girl who only wanted to be love, the girl who wanted to be good, wasn't good enough

Her and Pietro is trapped under the rubbles of her own house for 2 days, no cause I can't imagine what that must be like? They know their parents are dead. They don't know if they are going to survive. They don't know if someone is going to come rescue them. And when they got rescued. They probably did not have given the chance to grieve their parents. Her parents body are probably unrecognizable and were buried in a mass grave, They are force to grow up too quickly and they have no choice but to accept it.

The reason she ends up so checked out of reality is probably that horrible things keep happening to her, and she has no choice but to go "ok" and move on from that. The moment she first appeared, the way she behave and act it's obvious she have aggression issues and emotional maturity. She used to go to rallies and protests because the government of her country sucks, (shown in aou) and she grew up with her brother, who probably tried to do everything to stop both of them from starving to death. She joined Hydra because she thought she'd be doing something that would help her and her brother, she didn't join them because she agreed with them. ( It's literally implied that hydra is pretending to be shield and is recruiting volunteers)

She did not throw that bomb on that building on purpose; she's trying to save Steve and the people around her. She literally saved a lot of people's lives there, but people keep focusing on her mistake.

Wanda had done so many good things because she was good despite every reason not to. If she is "evil" from the beginning she would have not side with the avengers and just run away after learning Ultron's real plan

She would have not tried so hard to stop the bombs in Lagos if she did not care about other people's life. she save Natasha's and okoye's life, She did everything she could to stop thanos, she did everything the team ordered her to do.

She doesn't want to kill vision because she's afraid of being alone. Westview happened because she couldn't take it anymore. If She is evil she would have not the of people of that town go

Girl, I don't think therapists in the "M*rvel" can help her. You know how people there react to her. If she goes to a therapist, it will probably make her worse. She wants Vision back because he's the only one who understands and truly loves her, and he treats her better than most people there.

No cause Wanda is happy in Edinburg with vision, those are probably the times where she feels real happiness and thanos ruined everything.

If thanos didn't come, Wanda and vision will be have a real marriage and probably have adopted real children.

Wanda only want people to accept her, she only wanted to be treated like a human being, she doesn't care about being powerful. All of the crimes she committed happened because ever since she's a little she suffered, and I don't care if there are other people who suffers than her, people process trauma differently.

the way Wanda is influenced with something dark and evil and all of she ever wanted is to hug her sons again, she did not want to rule the entire universe she didn't want anything all she ever wanted is to be with her family

that she has a will and that she can make her self happy and I love her for trying.b and I do think she makes stupid and horrible decisions, but so do I, and that's okay;

She's been a hero, a victim, and a villain. because the writers and the shitty universe she's in, don't know what to make of her they accidentally created a character with so many potential and they don't know what to do next and they just killed her off because they think she's not as important like the rest, and majority of her fans just cares about her powers, they only care that she can "solo" people hated Wanda's character because of that. People won't look deeper into her character because the people that claimed to love her also weaponized her. She is doomed by the narrative, ruined by her some of her "fans" and we might not see her again because the universe she's in sucks.

i just finished that episode and its so crazy to me. house chalks his pranks up to being selfless the whole time- and it seems like he really means it. he convinces himself that him messing with wilson is going to help him stay away from sam. he talks about how sad wilson was when they first met and how torn apart he was by the divorce. house wants to prevent that from happening again so in his own weird twisted way he tries to get them apart.

but then right at the end wilson and sam are playing poker and they look so happy. house puts the milk back in the door of the fridge. right then he deliberately chooses to stop being selfless so that he can keep wilson out of this relationship. which, yes, is very House Typical™️ but the whole episode he is doing the most to keep his best friend from getting hurt, then sees him happy, and still chooses to put the milk back in the side of the fridge. he loves wilson so much that he could not handle to see him with someone else- getting hurt by someone else. so muchthat he. the milk. the fridge. *dies*

i love the fact that shj is NOT under yoojin's key word effect and he is Just Like That TM. bear with me for a sec. i was having yet another ted talk with dearest achro juuust recently about them, SO THERE ARE SOME HALF COHERENT THOUGHTS READY

i like how shj being the adult and not under the keyword effect gives some. agency in a way. so you know how yoohyun gets all the love despite him being the way he is. for the price of him moulding his entire being around yoojin? or more like HE decides THAT is the price and the only context for the love to be deserved and a fair trade so to speak. when he breaks the mould, he does not lose the privilege of being loved. he was chosen when he was that way to begin with. and anyway, yoojin gives so much leeway to yoohyun even in the frame of his views on good and bad - because love runs deep, and there are many things he'll let slide or let go, as long as yoohyun - and other kids - are happy.

but shj is an adult, not yoojin's kid. might sound obvious but. that gives him agency to fuck up his relationship with yoojin, and he actively chooses not to do it when he moves to the "partner" stage!! (because hyunje very clearly was feeling out the boundaries in the beginning, wasn't he? pushing and pushing and poking the rot until yoojin cracked. and what a surprise that was huh. huh, shj?? he stopped after that. the lines established (by him) and he was not. entirely happy about what he saw, even if incredibly intrigued)

additionally. there is something to say about the playful lines they draw. yoojin has his pride and wants to at least APPEAR strong even when he is struggling. and in places where yoohyun or yerim would fluster him with excessive care and worry, shj gives him enough space to pretend for a bit. even if they both know he's lying. he lies himself too, to save yoojin his pride, doesn't he? the "ah, it's just my whims" attitude? isn't it easier to accept the lavish gifts and such when it's not personal? might just use since he is clearly an eccentric rich s class, right? (that shoots them both in the foot with yoojin feeling insecure, like shj can drop him at any point in time, but that's different story)

plus! plus!! the thrill of biting back at someone so powerful. the excitement of toying with the guy everyone feels threatened by. ^^ (and of course the fun of peeling of perfect appearance and seeing this sung hyunje who doesn't eat bread crusts, likes fishing and being annoying and playing into jokes and is SO good at it he catches on instantly, just give him an opening. a secret persona. makes you feel special, doesn't it?)

while love for yoojin seems natural (oh yoojin. the most guy ever. gah.), sung hyunje too. makes adjustments to win points. like with him treating yerim seriously, him taking in account yoohyun's possessiveness when proposing giving only one of his eyes to blind yoojin (because you know. yoohyun would be unhappy if he didn't get a chance to give his eye to his hyung. and he is his hyung's number one. so shj can't not take it into account - he likes his place number two after all).

ANYWAY. i think yoojin needs an Adult TM who won't necessarily break apart without him. but who would still like to have him around and let yoojin bully him a bit as a treat. and sung hyunje needs someone who can not only tolerate his nasty personality up close, but would ALSO bite back without a fear of retribution. makes life more fun that way. i suppose you can say they both need someone who would entertain their bullying but not leave or get scared or break apart. ^^

Saw someone say something similar not too long ago but can’t find the post but like. I just realized my thesis about spn: the show was always about what happened in Sam and Dean’s childhood. The fact that Dean was treated as less than human by their father — and the fact that Dean grew up literally using his body to protect Sam from harm. Not just from monsters, but from John.

Dean literally had to place himself between them. Sam was not close to John because Dean was. Because Dean was preventing Sam from experiencing the abuse he was never equipped to explain. That’s why Dean has to die — in Faith, at the end of season one and the beginning of Season 2, in Mystery Spot, and the Finale of Season 3. It’s also why Sam can never save him, and why Dean has to go to Hell. Because he’s “already dead” and because he’s already been there — because of the things he was put through by John that Sam didn’t see. He’s used to it.

It’s also why Sam has to go through the same things — why, during the show, we see Sam being used as bait. Sam, forced to leave his normal life behind to start hunting. Even John’s demon deal is about the way he harmed Dean growing up — the burden of having a father who traded places with his son. Of being indebted to a man who, even in death, treats you as a weapon, and asks you to point yourself at the same person he told you to protect. Of being abandoned by one’s father and asked to imitate him.

It’s why the whole five season arc had to end with Sam and Adam going to Hell — everyone else has already willingly gone there in some form or other for the sake of protecting them both. It’s why Bela had to go to Hell for the crime of protecting herself from her father — and why we don’t see her getting dragged away. She’s already experienced it, and we already know what it looks like. That’s why Jo died the way Dean died, why Ellen died the way Mary died and why she wouldn’t let Jo die alone — they all throw themselves into the fire. It’s why Dean tries so hard to protect kids and their moms — and why, even when he saves their lives, he can’t stop the monsters from getting to them. It’s about Sam trying to save Dean from what’s already happened to him — and accepting that it can’t be done.

And really, it’s a story about white male privilege in a christo fascist society, and how no one gets any choice in a system in which the most vulnerable people are devalued and used as human sacrifices to protect the lives of able bodied white men — until even those white men get their turn to have their lives — their short lived experience of the American dream — taken away from them through work or war.

It’s why Dean puts his body in the way, again, by letting Lucifer beat him up — so at least Sam doesn’t have to die alone, the way Dean did when they were kids, and why the sight of the army man crammed into the ashtray gives Sam the power to hold Lucifer back. Because brute strength and anger — the things that Sam thought made someone into a hero — are not the traits that save the day. It’s why Sam has to learn to jump into the cage.

Oh also it’s why Cas being there makes a difference!!!! Gay love piercing through the veil of death etc.
