I think Denny was a r worder, although I haven't read the books in forever so I may be wrong. So if he isn't, then I dislike him for no reason. But if he is then, I think that's a valid reason.

Okay @brightlotusmoon so this was one of my ideas for 2003 Mikey!

Mikey stared at the screen. He should have been worried that Donnie would find him playing with “His Precious!” as he and the others playfully called it but his brain was frozen, sealed in place.

To be fair, he’d begun this quest to help his brother and hopefully prevent him from becoming a walking zombie. He doubted the resident genius would necessarily see it that way though.

Agent Bishop’s files were a PAIN to sort through. Donnie had taken a break finally. But Mikey, as always, stumbled across a seemingly simple solution.

He’d started to search for their names.

Made sense to him. Bishop knew their names. He’d used them. Why not encode it that way? Did all scientists insist on using boring codes? Donnie seemed to think so but…

Apparently not. When Mikey typed in a search for his own name (noting with a smirk that Bishop spelled it incorrectly), it came up with a file:

Project Rebirth. Most samples acquired destroyed. Subject Michaelagelo (see, spelled wrong!) blood sufficient. Damage done during transfer to some genes but repair allowable to produce one specimen, one genetic generation apart.

He also called it first filial generation.

Mikey had studied enough of Donnie’s notes and sci fi to get the gist of such meaning.

Rocking back, stone cold to the core of his shell, he grasped at the concept.

A child. Bishop had made a child from him.

First chapter is Donnie-centric though✨️

A ring flew by, dangerously close to his body. Donnie dodged, immediately looking back with wide eyes- what?! Why was everything floating?! 

Hypno didn't seem to be in control of it, panicking himself and trying to get the stuff down- but instead, dove when he almost got hit by one of his own rings. Was he losing control? But why? Donnie quickly pulled his goggles over his eyes again- confused at the alerts they were giving him. Some strange magic seemed to be surrounding them now- gold, burning, dangerously powerful- but not from Hypno. Something else? Mikey, where is Mikey- "DONNIE LOOK OUT-"

He turned his head.

Just in time for something to hit him directly in the face.

main take aways from Halloween (1978) rewatch:

outside of the fact that everyone who has sex is murdered by the narrative, this is a surprisingly chill portrayal of female sexuality? these teen girls are horny and actively enjoying Getting It On with their boytoys. no pushy boyfriends sneaking in through their bedroom windows--these ladies are taking the initiative to sneak out and GET SOME. one of them gets laid and then immediately orders her boyfriend to get her a beer. (yes she gets Slashered soon afterward, but so does the boyfriend so honestly, gender equality.) yes the Final Girl is the only one not having sex, but she's not bullied for that, nor are her friends slut shamed except possibly by being murdered by the narrative

actually the only character who is shown being morally condemned on-screen is michael myers. specifically FOR his violent overreaction to other people's sex lives. (people he is spying on). metaphorically, the villain is American Puritanism sticking its judgy nose into other people's business.

aka Michael Myers Is A Republican

but actually the real villain is the doctor. guy's a judgemental, shaming, pathologizing asshole. and he's been in charge of michael's care since he was SIX YEARS OLD? kid never had a chance. i'd go on a killing spree too

also the parents. where are the parents? it's halloween night and all the teenage girls are home babysitting their younger siblings? come to think of it, michael's first victim was his own older sister, whom he killed while she was babysitting him. teen girls are really shouldering a labour burden here. maybe parentification is the true villain

side note: mike commits his first murder wearing a clown costume...which is never referenced again? his 'iconic' costume is a generic mask and wig and jumpsuit, when we coulda had a Killer Clown Michael Myers??? travesty

i like how the Final Girl and her friend casually smoke weed in her car. yeah she's an honor student and her friend is the sheriff's daughter. yeah they smoke weed. so what it's 1978

(to reiterate, mike is 21 and should be at the club. im not saying he shouldn't be rampaging, im saying it's sad that he broke out, tasted freedom for the first time in his life, and immediately snuck back into his childhood home to go rampaging. let's have a remake where he goes to a nightclub and has a few beers. maybe some slutty dancing. then rampage)

A small scene I jotted down today between Mikey and Raph that immediately made me think of my friend @brightlotusmoon

“Stay away!”

The voice was so sharp, so toxic that Raph didn’t even recognize it at first. That kind of tone never came out of his little brother.

“Mikey, it’s me.”

“I said stay back!” Mikey scrambled up, pressing himself against the wall. “I dunno what I can do. What I might do.”

“Okay, so how about I just hang out until you figure it out.” Raph kept his voice low, even keel. Not normally something he was good at but he knew all these signs: the clenched fists, the tight voice, the way any little noise made your eye twitch.

He’d just never seen it in his brother.

“Talk to me, Mikey.”

“Talk? About what? About the fact those animals didn’t deserve any of that? That what right did the Foot have to do that? That my head is gonna explode and I need…I need to…to…I dunno!”

“Hit something? Run? Break anything? Drive their skulls into the dirt?”

Tears in his eyes, Miley nodded. “All of it.”

“That’s anger. You’re angry, Mikey.”

“This is what you call your superpower? This is what makes you so strong?”

“I guess, in a way…”

“If this is that, I don’t want it. Make it go away. Make it stop! I don’t like what it’s doing to me! I don’t like the kind of person it’s making me!”

Raph took a breath. “Only you can get rid of it, Mikey.”

“Then help me!” His tears cracked then, streaming down his face and his voice broke, all kinds of fear coming out in soft whimpers. “Please…”
