there's reasons why you hate coming back to your hometown, and one of them is the guy you can't tear your eyes away from now that you've recognized him. you genuinely, truly hope that he gets his order before they finish yours. it's the only thing that can save you from the tightness in your chest. maybe you should have put this order in minho's name.

he looks up from his phone, already smiling a little. "hm? should i go fight him?" he teases you just a little, head resting in his hand. "is he an ex?"

you shake your head, not meeting minho's gaze. he knows. you've told him before about the one run-in you had (something you keep measuring up to people who have faced so, so much worse, just to diminish your own experience further). the way you question if you were leading him on, or if you were just the one person who didn't understand the joke. the girls around you laughed. maybe you missed it, and--

minho's hand squeezes your own. "do you want to go sit in the car? i can grab the order for you instead." he's already pulling off his own baseball cap and fitting it onto your head with the tiniest smile to try and reassure you. but there's no playful lilt to his voice, nothing but genuine concern. he picks up on your mood quickly, even if you don't know if he's realized it yet. but judging by the way he glances up when he hears the scraping of a chair, just to make sure it's not him coming toward you... you think he's got a pretty good idea.

"is that okay?" you ask in a small voice, almost afraid to raise it any further. all it takes is minho's quick nod for you to get up, planting a quick peck against his cheek before you keep your head down and head back outside.

and when he finally returns to you, he just wordlessly offers up his hand for you to intertwine fingers with. the guy is long gone by the time minho comes to you, but the tightness in your chest hasn't gone away quite yet.

"it's okay." minho says quietly. "i won't let him near you now that i know his face." he draws the back of your hand to his lips so that he can press a gentle kiss against your skin. "you're safe now. okay?"

you just squeeze his hand tighter. it's gonna be okay.

i really think people nowadays assume that they’re OWED fan content, and completely forget the PEOPLE behind the content they claim to love.

people don’t leave kudos. they don’t comment unless it’s nasty/critical. they don’t reblog.

and you wonder why you can’t find any content? maybe it’s bc the creators you claimed to love so much stopped sharing their work bc people didn’t seem to appreciate it/treated them like shit

we aren’t some AI spurting out crap. We’re humans putting little pieces of our souls out there for you to share a little joy.

i just wish more people would remember that, and be a lot more appreciative than entitled little shits.

it hit me again yesterday- literally as i was about to fall asleep- how stupidly cute it is that marisha as beau randomly burst out "i could be her beacon [that guides her home]" all awkward and earnest about jester, for then one campaign later, finally, laura as imogen come back to her with "you're my tether, laudna. sometimes i feel like i’m about to float away, but as long as you’re there" and i just think that's beautiful and another reminder of how in so many ways CR continues to be endless love letters from the cast to each other.
