Autumnal stillness

subdues summer's wild desires.

October's blood flows

slowly through the veins of leaves.

Tall oak trees echo

with a time- honoured wisdom.

Song birds compose hymns

to loved ones now departed.

Myriad colours

express a serenity

which even mystics

cannot grasp. The solemn

amd the sublime merge

into one great symphony.
