isabeau's such a fun character to me esp bc imo a lot of what we see of him is like. the kid-friendly side, kinda? he's definitely reeled himself back a bit for bonnie, i feel (not in a bad way just like. in the way an adult should lol) just to make sure they're comfortable and and as happy as can be given the circumstances, and Then when we see him solely with siffrin he's treading pretty lightly and kind of testing the waters with crush stuff and still kinda hesitant (irt to like. emotional intimacy). so i like having fun with imagining him when he's able to like. one, be fully comfortable with himself and the others once everything's in the open, and two, be an adult with other adults, haha. thus the clone comic

thank you! 💙💙💙 Leia/Leah/Lea/whatever is fascinating to me. she is the ultimate unknown. what was she like? how involved (or even aware of any details of the invasion) was she? Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

actually you know what, as long as we're here, I think I WILL go ahead and just make some stuff up about what Silver might've inherited from her instead.

trinity santos being a former gymnast is one of the word of god pieces we've gotten that i'm really attached to, honestly. like i really think it adds so many layers to her storyline with langdon and to the context of her sexual trauma. to have come out of such a predatory, hierarchical, and structurally abusive environment that pressured whistleblowers into silence, where those in charge found every reason to ignore or discredit the reports that were made about so many men in power who were exploiting young girls.

and then to come into this hospital on her first day and hear not only that there was a girl being likely sexually abused but that they couldn't do anything because it was considered hearsay? (it wasn't, actually, and they SHOULD have reported it, which is a big hangup of mine as a mandated reporter - i think the show should have gotten that right but whatever.) and then to have to decide whether she's going to look the other way, as people are telling her to do, about a popular senior male doctor who she suspects of putting patients at risk? dude.

and also. said with love. i think being a gymnast tracks with why she socially engages Like That <3

Recently I saw someone questioning "why would Tsubomi stay in the park during a hurricane just to reject Mob. No sane person would choose that without having feelings", which is an interesting question with three main factors:

Tsubomi didn't know Mob planned to confess. He only said he wanted to tell her something. She stayed out of care for him (justifying it by noting that he sounded very worried in the call) and respect for their promise, which is only emphasized by the fact she decided to reject all those boys individually before. Tsubomi minds other people's feelings!

a lot of people say that the forbidden romance trope doesn’t work with childhood friends!calebmc, as in “there’s nothing stopping them from getting together if they’re just friends” and “caleb’s story makes less sense in english bc they could literally just date”

and i had an epiphany that the best way to understand the forbidden elements of the english trope may be to imagine calebmc from zayne’s perspective. because imagine the friends you grew up with—the ones who were adopted by the same person and lived in the same house—fell in love and dated.

seems forbidden enough to me! i’d probably grimace a bit. maybe throw a tomato or two

like. i think in the english version, maybe even moreso than the other languages, we have to rely on optics/public perception to understand why they can’t just get together. because even if it’s Technically not taboo internally (we’re #JustFriends) it certainly is externally, at least to characters who know their true relationship (unlike caleb’s college friends who just want them to make out already)

i told one of my best friends last summer, i think? and she was just like. “oh, so that’s why you always order so much food”

but when i mentioned feedism explicitly she did bring up some of the demonizing stuff ppl on social media see abt feedism. i brought up my point of view and experience as a feedee and in the last year her point of view has changed a lot? we were talking yesterday and she said something like “tbh being purposefully fat is punk” so i think she gets it
