Notes: So I was going through my files and found this snippet I wrote about Tala. Should have uploaded it on his birthday but it was too late🤡. But then I remembered that it's valentine's Day today and he isn't alone, so I thought why not? Hence the posting. Hope you guys like it ❤️

Summary: Tala and Julia are in their late 20s and are happily married.

Tala had just stepped out from the shower when his phone pinged. Throwing the towel on bed, he reached for the phone and found he had several messages.

The red-head started replying to messages while he waited for his hair to dry so that he could apply gel on it.

Julia entered the room and found Tala typing furiously. She saw the towel lying listlessly on the bed and frowned.

“Tal you are going to catch cold”

“No I will not” Tala replied, without looking up.

“Yeah because you grew up in ice-land” the Spanish woman said, rolling her pretty green eyes.

Grabbing the towel, Julia stood behind Tala “You know Tal, pneumonia doesn’t make an exception” And with that she covered her husband’s head with towel, rubbing the hair with swift movements.

“Jules!” Tala cried out in surprise. He tried to resist to which Julia said sternly;

“This will only take a minute, sit still”

Tala knew well enough that his wife wasn’t going to leave him. Sighing, he kept his mobile on the dresser and waited whilst getting his head massaged vigorously. When Julia was satisfied, did she stop. But once she did, she burst into laughter.

Tala knew something was wrong. Immediately he glanced towards the mirror and his blue eyes widened. His hair got dried alright. But now it was all ruffled up, the vivid strands jutting out in every direction in afro style. But while the said hairstyle was neat and proper, his was far from it. Tala’s hair looked as though it got electrified.

“You look like a fluffy kitten Tal!” Julia said, still giggling hysterically.

Tala scowled, reaching for the hairbrush and gel. He was just unscrewing the pot of gel when he felt a tug on his shirt.

“Please don’t style it” Julia pleaded.

“So you can laugh at me more?” Tala asked, annoyed.

“Well that too, but it’s not like you have to go anywhere”

“Jules I can’t go looking around like a hedgehog”

“I know…….but” Julia paused before uttering softly “You look so cute”

Tala froze. After all this time, he still wasn’t used to compliments despite being together with Julia for 3 years.

Julia stood up, ambling quietly towards the dresser. She gently cradled Tala’s face, running the pads of her thumbs on his cheeks. Tala looked at her, saying nothing.

“So cute” Julia murmured before kissing on his forehead. “So cute” She said, kissing the nose. “So cute” Before finally kissing on lips.

Tala closed his eyes and let himself immersed in a moment, bringing his hands to rest on Julia’s waist.

Julia let go, smiling at Tala with adoration before leaving the room, taking the towel with her to hang it out to dry.

Tala looked at the mirror once more. He then glimpsed at the brush and the gel lying on table.

‘Oh what the hell’ Tala thought as he stood up, pocketing the mobile. Sure he looked funny as a clown. But his wife will adore him.

And that to Tala, was very important.

I was planning to post other headcanons before going for these, BUT I’ve got some for Rockstar!Touya that are pestering my mind these days and your asks come in the right moment, so bear with me please 🤧

The first time Touya knew that he wanted to become a rockstar was in middle school, right at the age of thirteen, his influent CEO of a father was trying to mold him into a carbon copy of himself to rival Yagi Toshinori’s Enterprise. While taking a break from studies, he saw his sister watch on TV a rock concert of “Loudness” and to say Akira Takasaki is his role model is the least. That’s a true legend to him.

After “Loudness” and Akira Takasaki, he discovered “Metallica” and Kirk Hammett which made him go like “HOW??? HAVE??? I??? MISSED??? ALL??? THIS???”, scolding himself for taking so long to fall in love with the electric guitar and its sound. The next week he’s blasting full volume “The Final Countdown” by Europe inside the Todoroki Mansion like the good old stamp rock fanatic he is, getting himself scolded and grounded by Enji who is a fan of traditional Japanese music so yeah…

At one of the Todoroki family gatherings during the weekend, he was scrolling down his phone looking first of all where to take guitar lessons and second for a guitar to buy, but he knew his father would never agree to get him one. That’s when his grandfather, peeking at his grandson’s phone, butted in and asked Touya if he’s interested in music. He wasn’t sure if it was a good thing to answer that question, since he’s the father of his father, but he did and hell has it been the best thing he did!

On his fourteenth birthday, Enji’s father bought Touya his very first electric guitar, a good old Fender Stratocaster CUSTOM MADE for him. It’s snow white like his hair and has a his name engraved on the bottom left side of the guitar, while on the other side there were engraved tiger’s fangs, all in turquoise… The color of his eyes. And this has been by far Touya’s best birthday ever.

After finishing Middle School he choose to attend an Art School, taking the music classes as main classes of course; he may or not have done it to piss off and raise Enji’s blood pressure from how mad he got for choosing something different from Finances and Management. Oh his father was livid and Touya was so proud of himself for that.

He has formed a rock band, of which he’s the guitarist and vocalist, with Tenko Shimura (Bassist&Vocalist) and Shuichi Iguchi (Drummer) called “The Villains”… Are we even surprised about this name? Really? Because I am not. Tenko suggested, Iguchi supported strongly and Touya just went with it because complaining and thinking about another name was “Too much effort”. He likes it a lot but will never admit it.

At the age of nineteen, Touya owns a Fender Stratocaster (Custom Made), an Elite Stratocaster, an ST-83-80 Japan (1983) black, Lone Star Strat, IC350 black, IC50 black, ICHI00 white, Gibson SG Standard mahogany and a Jackson Pro Series DK Modern HT6 MS. He also owns four acoustic guitars for songwriting, like a Martin GPC-X1E, Martin 000-28 Modern Deluxe, Taylor GS Mini-e Rosewood SN LTD and a Taylor AD22e. Did he pay all them with Enji’s credit card? Hell yeah. Did he do it out of spite? Absolutely. Did he care about his father’s blood pressure rising even more? Not even remotely.

His favorite groups are Loudness, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Europe, Scorpions, Slipknot, Three Days Grace, Green Day, Skillet, Linkin Park, The Rasmus, L’Arc-En-Ciel, UVERworld, Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses and Evanescence to list some, because there are many more he adores honestly. He isn’t a picky ear as long as the song gives him chills and inspires him, being someone who’s driven by emotions that’s what makes him likes something he hears.

Atsuhiro is their homeroom teacher, at the Art University they attend, who introduces them to Giran, a friend of his, who has an agency for new talents and after they sent him six of their songs wants to launch their very first album by August to make them debut at the “Rock In Japan Fes.”

Touya, being the emotional driven type of musician, is the one put to write the lyrics for the band’s songs and most of the times are hits, especially because his and Tenko’s voice brings to life the emotions of the lyrics in a way that it reaches the listeners right into the heart and soul.

You will never catch Touya’s fingers empty, there’s always rings decorating them and some rings are even custom made by his cousin Geten, who owns a Jewelry shop that he promotes a lot on his social media. One of his most precious rings is the one that he got made for him, with his birthstone carved in it, when he turned eighteen.

He has three earrings on his right ear: an helix, mid helix, conch and low helix. Four on his left one: two helix, a low helix and one on the lobe, plus three nostril piercings on the right side of his nose.

After “The Villains” debuts and proving his father that he could succeed through music without his help nor his name, Touya owns now a black card that he lets Fuyumi and Shoto use to their heart content.

Last, but not least, be ready to be the muse of Touya’s songs the instant he falls head over heels for you. The moment it happens everything, and I mean everything, to him becomes about you driving Tenko and Iguchi to pure exasperation.

Thanks anon! I do my best to keep this blog positive-vibes only, but since you asked I will answer. Warning: DO NOT read this post if you do not want to see any criticisms about Makoto Nijima from P5 + discussions of police. This is not hate towards the character or her fans. It's just criticism for the writing choices and their implications for her.

Makoto Nijima does NOT want to reform the police. There's a mandela effect in the fandom where everyone seems to think she does, but rewatch her rank 10. Reform isn't mentioned at all. I'm so serious. What she actually says is this:

Within her confidant, the context is the host that was preying on her friend Eiko. Wanting to stop situations like that is good and makes sense 👍 The writers framed her decision to become a cop as a response to the most clean-cut black-and-white situation ever.

But here's the thing though: what happens when the lawless and the victims are the same people? Because in the real world, crime tends to concentrate among the poor and marginalized. The real world is not black and white. And I try to separate my personal experiences with the law from the media/art I engage with, but that doesn't work here because the game at large doesn't portray society as black and white.

There are a number of people in this game that do wrong because they have been hurt or are marginalized or did not receive proper help. A lot of mementos requests are about 'lawless' people and yet many are portrayed as 'due to systemic issues' or a lack of support or developing mental illness. It's also not a coincidence that Akechi is the most marginalized of all the phantom thieves and he was the one who did the most crime. There is deliberate social commentary here. People do not become lawless out of nowhere. They are shaped by their circumstances. And the game itself sympathizes with these people, focusing on changing/ helping them. The game's conclusion is that providing support and rehabilitation is the solution. Rehabilitative justice > Punitive justice.

Police wouldn't achieve that. Police in the game are framed as corrupt and incompetent at their core. Our protagonist is one of their biggest victims to demonstrate how they are weaponized against the weak. Even Sae Nijima at the end of the story has shifted to become a defense attorney rather than attempting to reform it (best character arc btw) because she recognized that the system is broken. And you can't even blame it just on Shido controlling the police because we see that the problems persist beyond him. By the end of the story they remain useless or outright harmful. The police do not help or rehabilitate, they only punish.

So no, this isn't me projecting my personal issues with cops onto the story because within the game's own story, law enforcement is not the solution. If it were a question of reform, we could debate about whether police reform is possible, but again: Makoto doesn't care about reform. It never comes up. According to the writers, she wants to be a cop because she thinks not enough lawless people are being punished. You can argue that her wanting to 'head an organization' means she wants to be in a position of power where she can reform them, but remember that police only enforce the law. They do not make the law. If reform was her goal she would be a politician. (I honestly thought that's what she was set up to be, since she was student council president and all but I digress)

Also a small detail, but notice how she mentions destroying the lawless before she mentions helping victims? It's super minor but I think it's indicative of the cop mentality. There's greater priority on punishing than helping.

I also dislike this conclusion to her arc because it's net zero character growth. You're telling me the character that was rebelling against corrupt adults' orders is now becoming a cop, the biggest bootlicking profession of them all? She started the story being a well-intentioned pushover, and she's ending her story being a well-intentioned pushover. And it doesn't matter whether she as an individual is a good person or not. All cops comply to be active participants in a system that is designed to hurt the weak and prop up the powerful.

TLDR: You do not help victims by punishing the 'lawless'. You help victims by helping victims. Period. Makoto becoming a cop is a contradiction of this and her own character arc. Either the writers did her dirty by not thinking this through or this is meant to be who she really is, and both those possibilities upset me.

I didn’t pick up on Harry seeming to question his gender at all! I noticed the sexuality of course, but his discomfort with femininity seemed to come more from feeling like he doesn’t love up to expectations of masculinity and just general feelings of inadequacy. But I’m also a trans man so wanting to be feminine is rather foreign to me, so maybe I just glossed over it?

Yeah sure! I'm not sure where you've come from so I'm going to link this here as just a bit of my thoughts on Harry and gender/sexuality, but if you came from that post and still aren't sure what I'm getting at, I'll elaborate too :)) I think Harry's issues with masculinity as it relates to class are quite obvious, and DE goes in hard on presenting gender and gender expectations as a conscious performance, with higher expectations on Harry stemming from his poverty. "What is it about poverty that makes all the men *real*?" This can certainly be interpreted as Harry having issues with expressing any kind of femininity, with performing gender expectations to an adequate degree. Struggling to live up to the standard of manliness set for him in the media that he consumes, in the world he occupies, and further the standard that he sets for himself in the aftermath of his failed relationship with dora ("you poor fuck. You poverty-ridden fuck.")

But beyond that, beyond identifying masculinity with feelings of inadequacy, there is (I think) also an undercurrent of longing for femininity or "genderless"ness that lends itself well to a trans/nb HC. The derision he or his skills express towards femininity at certain points feels almost defensive, rejection to keep it at arm's length despite his fascination with it, while the performative hypermasculinity feels like a shield. His fascination with "genderless" haircuts and his skills immediately shutting it down. It feels almost like another facet of his repression, perhaps, a residual from pre-annesia Harry having these same thoughts and having to shut them down for survivals sake. He does accuse other characters of "cross dressing" a few times, mimicking his preoccupation with finding other people's sexualities too- Noid and Gary, for example. The entirety of the Noid conversation would give him something interesting to chew on: "You know what I think? I think *man*, *woman*, and *child* are arbitrary divisions which serve to bind humanity to serfdom." And of course "some lady-clothes to piss off the sex-system."

The entirety of the leopard print leotard scene, the echo of "I don't want to be this kind of animal anymore" in "yes. This is the type of animal I want to be" the moment he's dressed in the bodysuit. The "summer" warmth found in expressing his femininity, in dressing himself in something softer, and on the other side the paralysing fear that he doesn't deserve to express it, that he'll be ridiculed if he presents the way he actually wants to. The emphasis that once this door opens, it can't be closed. Once the egg cracks, it can't be glued back together and ignored. "Again: once the leopard comes on, it's never *ever* coming off." Once Harry experiences a taste of his desired gender presentation, he will not be able to repress it again. I think the fear that undercuts every single thought on the topic is very familiar to the closeted or unaware trans experience (or at least it is to me, an nb person), fear of admitting what you want, fear of being ridiculed and laughed at. But at the same time, the confidence, the warmth "like stepping into a summer lake," the satisfaction that comes with gender experimentation, the freedom...

Of course, Harry doesn't have the language to describe what he's (potentially) feeling. He barely knows that gay people exist. But I think it's plausible that this pattern of thoughts, given time to stew away from the "male-dominated workplace" of the RCM and more time in the homo-sexual underground, more time learning to be kinder to himself and to the world, unlearning some of the bigotry that has worn a groove into him as a cop, shedding some of the misery ("turn from the ruin. Turn and go forward..."), could lead to Harry discovering and identifying with nb and/or transfem labels. To "explode the gender binary" as he says.

It’s too bad that I can’t eat my sorrows away nor do anything to to keep it 100% at bay. It doesn’t matter if I eat my sorrows away now, it will come back later. It doesn’t matter what I do.
