Need asoiaf fans to be disabused from the notion that anyone “deserves” the Iron Throne. Not a single person deserves it, doesn’t matter how good they are. And I’d take it a step further and say that no one deserves to be king or queen or lord. We shouldn’t be equating kingship/queenship with a happy ending. This series does so much to criticize this awful system so it’s particularly jarring that people will go “I want my fave to get their happy ending and sit on the iron throne”. That’s…kind of antithetical to what the series has shown us so far I think.

#asoiaf #valyrianscrolls #people if there’s one thing you ought to take away from reading this series #it’s fEuDaLiSm bAd #that’s like super consistent across the entire system #it sounds reductive but like grrm has spent a lot of time showing us just how rotten this all is #the iron throne is pretty much a physical representation of this rotten system #and I also see people being like ~I want my fave to be the hero because that’s what they deserve and that’s a happy ending~#as if grrm isn’t taking his sweet time deconstructing what it means and costs to be a hero #spoiler alert: it costs a lot!!!#being a hero isn’t going to be a walk in the park guys #my hot take is that part of the reason why people don’t like bran as king of the 7k is because they had thought the IT going to their #fav was the happy ending #so that’s why we get a lot of ~what’s bran’s tax policy~#not to say that everyone asking that is asking it in bad faith #but so many people in this fandom think that certain roles are owed to their faves #gonna prepare a truck load of popcorn for when ADoS comes out because oooo the drama #btw this is not directed toward a particular fandom - because like half of the people who read this books think like that

My partner finally finished BG3 but has no idea that his ending was actually bad cause he was a pro-Vlaakith githyanki who rode off with Lae'zel but got NO EPILOGUE where Withers points out y'all died im 😭😭😭

they have no idea what happened with Gale or anyone else (who was still alive) after flying away 🙃🙃🙃

It's not about trying to get people to read it #It was just really ouchie to see the same concept I wrote 2 years ago get triple the notes in ONE MONTH.#and double the notes of my solo series masterlist in general in one month vs 2 years of my stories sitting there rotting #Then I see people saying they need more solo Eddie and I'm just here like my dudes I begged for requests. BEGGED. But bc I wasn't #/have never been a popular writer people don't want it from ME. It's like omg we want THIS but not like that. Not from you.#Can't help but let it get you down when nothing has changed in 2 years. It's not like I worked my way up and have the interaction now #that every other blog I used to commiserate with back in the day is getting currently. Fandom isn't a competition but it's not fair either #and I really struggle with that a lot of the time #Also yes I will concede I should be happy with the notes on the solo series because they are the highest of all the work on my page but #they're still nothing compared to what some people have just hours after posting a new story.#I saw someone complaining the other day that there are less new stories in the fandom than ever 1. That's simply not true. 2. Even if it wa #can you blame writers for giving up when readers are checking the same popular blogs over again or reading the same 5 tropes the same #2 pairings over and over. The same series? Over and over. Ignoring everything else and then complaining that their faves don't post enough?#That the popular writer with the incredible series (that rightfully deserves interaction) hasn't posted a new dad!eddie or rockstar!eddie #drabble in ages meanwhile there are writes out there pouring their souls into dad!eddie and no one reads it. There is so much rockstar Eddi #smut out there that it could sustain a brand new reader for an entire year before they needed a new fic #Idk man. I'm just feeling so defeated. I write for fun now. But there was a point in time where I desperately tried to build a platform by #offering requests and writing a lot of things I would not otherwise write to try and gain traction on my page and every time I see another #food fucking fic get hundreds of notes I get so sad that I wrote that stupid Melon fic because I had people in my life that told me #they would be excited to read it and for what? One of them still talks to me. The others moved on so fast. Most didn't even reblog it.#Some of them have since written their own food fucking fics that got triple the notes of my OG. Again. No shade to them. I don't own the #concept. It's just disheartening and fucking sad above all else. How hard I tried to get people to LIKE me and my stories. 😂#Just sad hours in general tonight my guys. Once a devout paladin of the Morning Lord, then of Mother Night after his death, corrupt rebirth, and subsequent fall from grace as he pursued power no matter the cost in the pursuit of vengeance against Strahd... the aasimar blackguard Solar now learns what it is to be true to his own heart as the newest disciple of Askalaphos, a fallen demigod son of Ares and former slave to the Abyss slowly regaining his own spark of divinity and sense of purpose as he seeks an escape from the mists of Ravenloft. None of this would have been possible, however, had their mutual annoyance friend Rixa not been dead-set on saving the both of them from themselves, despite their belief that this was a hopeless cause... or if they had not joined forces to save her in return when she was captured by her nemesis. A long and dangerous road still lies between them and victory over Strahd, the Dark Powers, and the corruption that stains their very souls, but walk it they shall... after all, nothing worth fighting for is ever easy.

#what is on my mind. well im specifically thinking about jahan just did the new bss song dance and it's reminding me #how jahan and arthur did the maestro dance with dino and afterwards jahan talked about how mortifying it was to ask dino to do it #then like two weeks later the maestro mushow behind was released and the behind of tkds challenge was featured in it. and #some of the svt members were talking about how happy it made them. outside of tkds range #and when someone pointed out to jahan how they made it into the behind he lost his shit #and i am also thinking about my dann jahan unit pola. and sometimes i don't realize how much detail is in a polaroid #and how lucky i am to have a signed pola of my bias line in one of my top fave stage fits. like how did the universe align like #that for me. that's crazy #and well im thinking about how much i like them. i think when i first got into kpop i didn't understand how people decided who was an ult #or a semi ult. or whatever. and the time just moved so fast and my feelings fluctuate so much how do you know but now i just knowwwwww #when i look at them and when their songs come on shuffle and when i gif them and when i look at my album shelf and i see the hok albums #line up and my photocards and how they're the biggest portion of my binder and how i felt seeing them in concert both times #and im also thinking of the concert im thinking about the shitty ada route for the venue. how the ramp was a solid 45° angle and i managed #to go up but i was so nervous to go down cuz i certainly couldn't walk my rollator down and i didn't wanna fall #and i had to be nearly carried down cuz i was so unstable and it was so embarassing and then i heard dann singing and it was just a really #grounding moment. his voice is so comforting to listen to on my phone and it was so invigorating to hear on stage but to hear it #softly up close. because he always sings back stage and the ada route was backstage and they were behind me to go back to #the green room and I didn't know and. it was such a surprise but it was so nice. so nice #so calming. and how i was so embarassed my rollator was taking up space when i was talking to ivan and when i readjusted it it got #stuck on a crack in the floor because of the angle and i apologized but he immediately told me it was okay and helped me get it unstuck cuz #i was shaky on nerves and adrenaline. and they're just sooooo. wow #ughhhhhh and hwons smile when i did polas with him first tour. and how he held everyone's hands despite the staff saying not #to touch the artist he always grabbed your hands first if you let him and i did cuz i didn't know what to do and he was just so excited #to be there and getting to talk to him while we waited for the pola to print. dude he's so tall like i knew he was tall going in but nothing #prepares you for How damn tall he is till you're right there next to him and god #they r the best. genuinely. :•( i love them so bad #speaking.txt

other ppl: i dyed my yarn beautiful colors with natural dyes!!!!

me, generally a BIG proponent of working with all natural materials: god thats SO cool. wish i could do that! unforchies all my favorite colors are ridiculously bright neon eye sores

#KNITTING UPDATE: needles acquired >:) going ok so far but ill just have to keep working on this swatch and decide on needle size #also. i.just. do NOT like the color of this wool. so ive just been like. wallowing bc i dont want to wear an off-white sweater :/#like ive decided on this one pattern with like a mid-tier visual interest level yanno? thats how the yarn thickness worked out #but THEN earlier tonight i was like waaiaiiittt a second!!!!!!!!!!!
