i do think he has a little bit of a corruption situation too but not in the same way as oliver at all also he genuinely feels bad about it

like oh no something embarrassing is happening with chrissy that eddie doesn’t care about but she does!! she has a nasty ingrown hair on her groin, or a big juicy pimple on her chin that makes it hard to do any kissing! her heels are dry, cracked and flaky! how will she cope, she’s not supposed to have that! that’s not sexy and eddie always says she’s so sexy, so he’s a liar!

this would be especially harrowing because Chrissy was raised to believe that she only had value if she was perfect.

those tiny inconsistencies with her appearance were simple enough to hide with Jason because Jason never actually noticed when something bothered her. when she turned so that his lips caught her cheek instead of her lips because of the huge, concealed pimple on her chin, or when she wore baggy clothes because she was bloated; Jason didn't care enough to actually see those things.

but Eddie sees everything.

especially once they start living together, it's like his eyes are somehow able to pick up whenever she's experiencing the slightest inconvenience or discomfort. when she spends just a little too long in the bathroom, or when she rolls over and tries to convince him she's just too tired to fool around.

he probably pokes and prods her about it until she finally confesses that she doesn't want him to know how ugly she is. because she's taken off her makeup and the zit is visible, or her stomach isn't totally flat like she thinks it should be, or whatever.

and it takes Eddie everything he has not to start laughing because, "Chrissy. Sweetness. All that stuff just makes your body a body. Like a human body, not a plastic Barbie body. I don't think you're beautiful because you're perfect all the fuckin' time. I think you're beautiful because you're human, and because you're, y'know, kinda perfect. Especially on the rare occasion I'm reminded that you are, in fact, human, and not an alien wearing a gorgeous skin suit."

it would probably take her a long time to start believing that herself.

(Eddie also 100% offers to try and help with popping the zits or getting those pesky ingrown hairs with tweezers and Chrissy would be grossed out at first but then, jeez, having an extra set of hands for those things might be... convenient?)
