I had a Skype call with my best friend who lives far away since it was his birthday. So when this existential dread came over me, while saying a friendly goodbye to my best friend, one of my platonic soul mates, I got depressed. For a fraction of second. The next moment was me realising, the loneliness I felt, he felt it too. His own loneliness. The loneliness of his apartment, of his bed, of his walls. He was so far away and still we were close. So close but we would never really feel that isolation the other one was struggling with.
