#Skyward Sword Silent Realms

So that @skyward-floored post about Silent Realms changes was going around again and my brain wanted an excuse to draw some fun horror, because I, too, think the Skyward Sword Silent Realms were the fucking best.

So here's some of the bits: spirit degeneration from trying and failing over and over, "waking webs" that entangle you...

...and a sky Guardian.

To add on but also diverge from the Wars w/ Cia trauma. Thinking about if Wars gets triggered, how that might get worse because it’ll make Sky think about Ghirahim. Or vice versa.

Idk much about Hyrule Warriors and what Cia exactly did to Wars, haven’t played it yet. But I’m always rotating Sky in my brain, and how he probably felt about how Ghirahim acted around him, and had to shove aside to finish his quest.

I haven't played hyrule warriors myself but my sister has consistently been playing non-stop the wii u version and now the switch version lol so she's my hyrule warriors source, but basically and without too much spoilers, cia is obsessed with warriors to the point the war starts because of her infatuation with him

The fandom gets uh pretty dark with that info sometimes

But AAAH YES I absolutely forgot ghirahim's creepy behavior towards sky, I guess I blocked it 🫠 sky's disgusted face when ghirahim does the tongue thing in his personal space in game oough fun times (not)

That's actually kinda interesting like sky + wars bonding over that kind of trauma and helping each other when triggered, cause I can absolutely see sky also not vibing with someone suddenly appearing behind him ala ghirahim even if it's one of the chain

Song: Din's Silent Realm

When someone says 'Guardians', most may think of the ones from Breath of the Wild, which is understandable. But I wonder how many think of the Silent Realm Guardians because LORD HAVE MERCY! These things made me scared of the silent realms as a kid, specifically Din's with how my brother and I found out the hard way that the one that floats and carries scythes can go through walls. Pretty music for sure, but the guardians will teach you what anxiety is in this Skyward Sword for sure

Not me discovering Skyward Link being able to run up a Moblin’s shield, onto their head, and then land behind them to do the stabby stab. While on a bridge. In Lanayru. Like fifty feet off the ground.

Skyward Link really ran so Wild Link could climb, huh. What a sleepy boi king. 👑

Also that second Silent Realm was awful. I was doing so well, until I got the last tear, and then I ran out of stamina running for my life FIVE FEET FROM THE EXIT. I was so mad. But then second try I went for the hardest/farthest one early instead of last, because that’s what screwed me up first time.

Also, I went to check on Groosey, as I do after completing big quests, and he was in the middle of building the railroad track!!! Man, I love these details.

Ok ok but like being a Christian playing Skyward Sword is honestly kind of hilarious.

Praying to “save your progress”

Spiritual growth via being attacked by terrifying metallic guardians that will shatter your soul

Praying for world peace by essentially saying “please murder this bad guy” and the response is essentially to SQUISH HIM WITH A GIANT ROCK

I seriously forgot to post the colouring of the map section didnt i?

Anyways i did the silent realm section and this part took me 40 mins despite it being the smallest bit

Its cuz it needs very specific colours and i only have the very basic colours so it took forever of piling up pencil to get the colour i needed

Will probably fix the lil tears on the flower

For half of the time, my wifi cut out so the video i was watching stopped and i was colouring in silence for 25 mins and i hated it

But im excited for the next section of colouring, the gate of time

Okay, admittedly it has been a while since I played the game, but did Skyward Sword ever elaborate on how Ghirahim knew Zelda was Hylia's mortal form?

I get that the likely answer is his mystical demon lord/sword spirit abilities.

Another possibility (mostly headcanon than actual canon) could be that he originally was supposed to act as a counterpart to Fi, a dual blade meant to be used by Hylia, so he can sense the goddess's presence.

... But it would be infinitely funnier if he knocked Zelda off her loftwing specifically because he saw her participate in the Wing Ceremony as the actress for Hylia and went "YEAH THAT'S HER." without any actual tangible cues for her divinity.

That would mean, in any other universe where the girl who played Hylia was different, he would have been wrong.

Just imagine. It could have been Orielle. She specifically made it known that she wanted to participate in the ceremony as Hylia. Or Karane, she was in the Knight Academy and could have done it for sake of tradition. Or Peatrice. Because... it's Peatrice, come on.
