Love, Like Winter
Raised in Siberia, Nikolas Kamarov was secretly a descendant of the powerful alien Kheburim. Unlike other Kheran children born on Earth, Nikolas wasn't a hybrid, but a full-blood Kheran, abandoned after the relationship soured between his parents--Zannah and Yohn--partially over the massive caste differences that the native Kherans never fully overcame before Yohn's death and rebirth as a bio-android under his terran name, John Colt.
Eventually snapped up by S.T.O.R.M., Nikolas's "Winter" codename came as a part of an odd quirk of his energy absorption abilities: despite being able to handle raw power in excess of stellar bodies, he instinctively inverted any energy he absorbed (hot to cold, light to dark, etc). Coupled with his background and cold but professional demeanor, Nikolas thrived under STORM's Bendix regime as an agent and then leader of Stormwatch's Prime team up until the organization's dissolution.
Eventually, Stormwatch was reformed, supposedly under the aegis of the DEO, but secretly under control of President Amanda Waller--formerly of Team 7--who quickly installed Winter as her new Weatherman, partially due to his record of loyal service to Skywatch, and partially to prevent yet another Majestic-class superhuman from operating Earthside as she continued consolidating power...

What do you think of dragons?
"I had few different experiences with them and their descendants. The first dragon I ever knew of, Rathgruul, was a tyrant. Hormun, the Myroga, gave us a chance to survive his ferocity by getting his own greed turned against him. A small dragon with monkey-like appearance killed Hoyt. He also got to face another one while he traveled alone, which killed several crew members of the ship he was on. The drakes underwater are so aggressive..."
"I wish I could say something better, but the truth is I distrust them. After all of this that happened, could you blame me?"

📍 Kongofukuji (金剛福寺) – The 38th Temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage
At the very edge of Japan’s Shikoku Island, where the Ashizuri Peninsula meets the vast Pacific Ocean, stands Kongofukuji (金剛福寺) – the 38th temple of the legendary Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. This sacred site has welcomed pilgrims, monks, and even samurai clans like the Minamoto, Chosokabe, and Yamanouchi for centuries. 🌊🏯✨
🏯 A Temple at the End of the World
If you look at a map, the Ashizuri Peninsula juts out from Shikoku’s southwest corner, marking the island’s southernmost point. Reaching Kongofukuji is an experience in itself—it's an 85 km (53 miles) trek from the previous temple, Iwamotoji (岩本寺), making it the longest stretch between two temples in the entire pilgrimage. For those walking, it takes an average of 30 hours to reach.
📍 Google Maps Location: https://www.google.com/maps/dir//32.7259884,133.0185885
⛩️ The Temple Grounds
Kongofukuji is unlike any other temple on the pilgrimage. With stunning architecture, a serene pond, and massive colorful stones, the temple blends into the rugged beauty of Ashizuri Cape. The buildings, some resembling driftwood in their deep, weathered colors, carry the scent of ocean spray and burning incense. 🕯️🌲
📸 Featured Shots:
🔹 Traditional Wooden Gate & Temple Buildings – Each structure at Kongofukuji has a distinct rustic yet elegant aesthetic. 🔹 Rock Gardens & Sacred Grounds – Pilgrims walk among towering stones, symbolizing spiritual strength and endurance. 🔹 The Great Pond Reflection – The pond mirrors the temple’s beauty, creating a peaceful atmosphere. 🔹 Pilgrim in White – A modern-day henro (pilgrim) on their sacred journey. 🔹 The Towering White Pagoda – A striking contrast against the deep green of Ashizuri’s wild forests.
🏆 A Temple Founded by Kukai (Kobo Daishi)
In 822 AD, Emperor Saga ordered Kukai (空海)—the founder of Shingon Buddhism and the Shikoku Pilgrimage itself—to establish Kongofukuji. The deity of worship here is the thousand-handed Senju Kannon Bosatsu (千手観音菩薩), a symbol of compassion and mercy.
✨ Why Visit Kongofukuji?
✅ Spiritual Pilgrimage – One of the most important stops on the Shikoku Henro route. ✅ Stunning Scenery – Ocean views, pine-covered hills, and unique temple structures. ✅ Deep History – A temple that has stood the test of time, serving aristocrats, samurai, and monks alike. ✅ Hidden Gem – Unlike tourist-heavy Kyoto, Kongofukuji offers tranquility and an authentic cultural experience.

Embark on a celestial odyssey with SpaceTime Series 27 Episode 57, where we unravel the rapid evolution of spiral galaxies. Our cosmic journey begins over 10 billion years ago, as new observations from the Webb Space Telescope reveal the early formation of star bars. These stellar structures, pivotal in the maturation of galaxies, were once thought to emerge in a chaotic young universe. Yet, they now appear to have developed far sooner, indicating a surprisingly orderly galactic evolution. The episode takes an unexpected turn as we delve into the moon's dramatic geological past. Discover how our lunar companion turned itself inside out, reshaping its surface with titanium-rich lava flows. The tale unfolds through a blend of computer simulations and spacecraft observations, shedding light on the moon's enigmatic lopsided geology. As we return to Earth, we witness the changing of the guard aboard China's Tiangong space station. The Shenzhou 17 crew's safe return after six months in orbit paves the way for the Shenzhou 18 team to continue exploring the frontiers of science in microgravity, including the intriguing endeavor of raising fish in the void. Concluding our cosmic survey, we gaze upon the night sky's wonders in the May edition of Skywatch. Marvel at the constellation Scorpius, the radiant Antares, and the Eta Aquarids meteor shower—a celestial spectacle born from the remnants of Halley's Comet.
