37. GUY.EXE — Superfruit

Okay so this song started as a joke, because I wasn’t originally going to have Skizz be an android; I thought it would be really funny if this Normal Guy was just always surrounded by his robot besties and the Perpetual Odd Guy Out. But, the more I listened to this song, the more I realized how much funnier it would be if the narrative/this song was basically “Doc, Impulse, Tango, Etho, and Mumbo all set out to create the ~perfect android~ together but are ridiculously silly and gay about it, and also the perfect android ends up being Skizz, and also also the design elements suggested by our fellow hermits here are uh. Not indicative of anything at all. Nope!” And the concept was just way too fun not to run with :]

Again with this one, you really won’t get the vibes here unless you know or listen to the song— the second shot is actually a redraw from the music video, so kudos if you got that reference LMAO I was SO hoping someone would request this number, so thank you joi >:D Incredible opportunity for me to draw these guys with ridiculous poses and expressions alongside finally getting to share Skizz’s spectacular origin story <3

I think its incredibly underappriciated how c!impulse is literally (in my head) a demon and c!skizz is an angel. Like come on. They're literally polar opposites, born to be enemies yet somehow made an unlikely friendship.

sorry, the thing that's really getting me is that bdubs didn't want to do it. despite the fact that 9/10, when confronted with the facts of the matter with him killing impulse, he chooses to deflect or gloss over it or whatever he can to not fully acknowledge the weight of it all and the weight of impulse's grudge against him (take the "what have i ever done to hurt sweet impulse" in liml). despite the fact that bdubs continuously refused to acknowledge that festering underside of their relationship, he knew that they were even. he knew that he killed impulse twice and that impulse killed him twice in liml and he knew that they were even. and now they're not. yes, impulse asked for it, yes, he doesn't care about it, but they were even, and now they're not.

Another random thought because we're failing to sleep once more (disorders...): Dwarf-Demon hybrid Impulse my beloved.

Demons are kinda magical beings that aren't grounded in realism, but do have certain things that kinda are (which I will not talk about because... reasons...). Dwarfs on the other hand are just a type of human that live deep underground, like the difference between homo sapien and neanderthal but they're small and live in caves.

This all results in short-ish demon-ish human-ish lad that absolutely can not see in daylight at all. He probably has specialized contacts/sunglasses but like he's pretty much nocturnal, which is already pretty normal for certain demon species.

Funny observations (to me) that I noticed regarding the Life Series

Skizz is a naturally kind, trusting person who has faith in people, but doesn't ever let anyone treat him as a doormat or a pushover. Tango on the other hand is not a very trusting person who can easily pick out suspicious people, and is constantly on edge about who to trust, yet somehow is more likely to be a doormat or pushover than Skizz is???

Lizzie is the least whimsical woman (or rather, feminine presenting person) on this server. You may think that goes to Cleo for their sorta realist mindset and fear mongering status, or like Pearl because of her incredibly depressing lore, or Gem because she can be insane sometimes, but no it's Lizzie. All of them love cute things, but I think the other three fawn over cute things in endearing things while Lizzie expresses her love very blunt and dry. In the best way possible, she is like the server's cranky old woman to me. Does anyone see my vision or do I sound insane.

People do not talk about or write enough about Jimmy's habit of talking real big and threatening things and sizing himself up to only immediately shoot himself down and run off terrified when challenged by something a bit too threatening or a bit too much for him to handle. It is one of my favorite character defining mannerisms of Jimmy because it's so funny to me. I love wholesome, golden retriever man, but he is also this and I don't see it nearly enough

In Secret Life, when Gem was giving Etho flack for not attacking Cleo during the boogeypocalypse, Bdubs immediately jumps in to defend him by saying "Well, I can't help but notice Scott's not dead yet either, Gem!" Like. Just a moment ago you were scolding him too. He cannot let Etho be in a negative situation for even one second....please get a grip girl he ain't devoted to you rn......you don't have to all that for him...

Etho gets called washed up the most in Limited Life and yet that is the season where he placed the highest and I think that is hilarious

yEAH I saw people drawing Angel Skizz fanart and I thought it would be funny if it wasn't the big wings that he usually has but instead replaced with a wing-shaped torn patches on his jacket hahaha It still works so I'm not complaining

That, but with any robot/cyborg etc. hermits.

Depending on how linked they are to the technology, it could be that a limb has to be shut down temporarily, or that their entire system (i.e. their brain functions) have to be rebooted.

This can be done as fluff or angst!

Tango is up too late working on his redstone contraptions? Well his good buddy Skizz is there to sneak behind him and hold down his power button to force him to take a nap already, jeez!

Iskall's eye has been bugging him, shorting out and all. He needs some help resetting it, so he gets a friend to hold it down and catch him when his brain reboots as well.

Etho has a panic attack during a repair session with Doc. He's gonna fry his systems if he can't calm down... Doc has no choice but to hold down his power button and reset him so he doesn't hurt himself further...

So many possibilities!

The first rule of computer troubleshooting, turning it off and back on again, applies to Hermits too. Having vision problems? Stuck in a spiral of bad thoughts? Just reboot!
