One thing I appreciate star wars for always showing consistently is that 95% of all Jedi can't help but be good.
Like this isn't a matter of just being a good person or being trained to be a good person. They literally cannot help but be compassionate and caring. Even when they are doing wrong things, like in acolyte, it is still out of good intentions. It was a huge misunderstanding of course, but they just want everything to be good, which is an unrealistic goal and sometimes that results in bad things because of point of views.
But I can appreciate the fact that not a single fucking Jedi in the entirety of star wars wasn't good when presented with the opportunity. (Pong krell does not count and he can suck my dick) They simply couldn't help it, as the grand inquisitor says in Kenobi. The smart thing would be to not be involved, but even when they are being ACTIVELY HUNTED, They cannot stop themselves from butting in and helping others. Obi wan tried , but ended up helping, Cal tried to hide, ended up exposing himself to save someone, Ezra and Kanan, Ahsoka, Quinlan voss, and these are just the main people , who knows how many other survivors tried to help and ended up sacrificing themselves just so like 3-4 innocents could live. They didn't do anything on a grand scale, but those little acts of kindness probably helped hope from dying out completely.
The Jedi are the literal embodiment of hope and goodness and I fucking love that. Despite everything, and all the defamation palpatine did, the people still considered Jedi good.
Like you know shit is bad when even the criminals are like "the empire is had for business, the Jedi were better"
And i appreciate it. The galaxy is a harsh place, and so is the real world. So it's wonderful seeing a faction that is just good. Sure they made mistakes with Anakin and some other times but like that's upto the people imo, not them as a whole. Where there is pong krell, there is also mace windu, there is also obi wan and Yoda .
And I appreciate them for showing this consistently. Do they make mistakes, yes everyone does. But they were completely finessed by palpatine into losing their way and they STILL managed to do their best.
I am a proud Jedi sympathiser and will probably be executed for that in the empire.

INTRODUCING: Quinlan Vos, Professional Bestie
two IGMHC vignettes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I— had a friend,” Ben says. “Growing up. At least for a little while.” - Obi-Wan, chapter 2, IGMHC
HUMAN SACRIFICES ARE ONLY PASSÉ WITH THE WRONG ATTITUDE
Fox ignores him. “Cody, I’m this close to a murderous rampage.”
Vos brightens. “Cody! The one who’s fucking a Si—“
“That’s Marshal Commander Cody,” Cody says icily and even Fox needs to suppress a shiver. “Who the fuck are you.”
“How do you even know ,” Fox starts and recoils from the wink Vos throws him.
“Shadow, remember? It’s my job to know more than is strictly healthy for me.” Vos nods his chin to the comm. “ Marshal Commander Cody, tell Obes his childhood bestie would like a hello sometime.”
“You know him?” Fox whispers harshly - yells, but whose narrative is this, thanks - while Cody mutters an incredulous “ Obes ?”.

TRUTH-INCINERATOR CAUGHT MAKING FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS, MORE AT 11
The past worn like a mask because of how Obi-Wan was is useful to how he now is. And, if the faint rumors are true, spoken so hushed within the confines of the council chambers only, the relicts have turned into goals again. To make what once was true again.
Quin’s head spins from the spirals Obi-Wan has contorted himself into.
“Is that so,” Obi-Wan comments quietly, watching him back. “My heart warms from your efforts. A cup wouldn’t go amiss either.”
Quin inclines his head. “Sorry, we’re not at the best buds level where I trust you with anything that can be used as a weapon.” The preparations for this meeting had been endless and frustrating. No weapons on either their persons so Obi-Wan couldn’t use Quin’s lightsaber against him. A Force suppression collar around Obi-Wan’s neck which doesn’t seem to bother him at all. Thick gloves on Quin, no sliver of skin bare for taking advantage of his psychometry. Master Windu had thoroughly gone over Quin’s shields with him. The Council had left nothing unprepared.
“You don’t fidget as much as when we were younger,” he says. He gotta start somewhere, silence has never been his forte, and suddenly it’s vitally important to understand the line that had been drawn somewhere and cut his best friend out of Quin’s life. “You used to always do something with your hands.” Obi-Wan had needed the stimulation. To concentrate, to expense restlessness, to focus away from anything and everything overwhelming.
Yellow eyes continue to look at him. There’s pity in them now. “It’s been beaten out of me.”
Quin grins, quick, regretful and unsurprised. He can imagine, colorfully, and his heart breaks a little more. “Your words have always known where to cut deepest and quickest.”
“Thank you.”

A drabble that wouldn't shut up until I wrote it:
“It’s a Kiffar thing.” Quinlan’s voice is soft as he traces the branching scars on Fox’s skin. “We’re naturally attuned to electricity. Useful, with all the lightning storms.”
Fox shudders as fingertips drag across a particularly sensitive patch of skin. He wants to turn himself inside out and feel that electricity in his bones, but there’s no way to say it that doesn’t make him sound insane, so he stays quiet. “Why does it bother you so much?”
“Because it was proof to those who thought I was tainted by what Tinte did – proof I was doomed to be Dark.”

it’s very good that lichemburg figures are not permenant in the real world, I’m sure many people who have had them are relieved about that; but it’s a near universal truth in fan fiction universes that they are, actually very permenant.
it’s just one of those fandom rules of cool.

Random argument while shopping for Asajj’s wedding dress (she and Quinlan are getting married): Asajj: You don't think I can fight because of my gender!  Dooku: I don't think you can fight because you're in a wedding dress. For what it's worth, I don't think Grievous can fight in that dress either.  Grievous: Perhaps not. But I would make a radiant bride.

Is the visual novel project still on or is it abandoned? Ty
clone wars: dating sim vn project is still going! :3
it's separated into seven arcs we're calling 'seasons', and we've got a playable version of the intro scenes. the first draft of season one is almost complete. the art is coming along nicely. it's charming, hand painted stuff over original cg frames, and a couple of full cg renders. we've got some sprites to work with too, with different expressions and sometimes outfits. there's about 7-8 people you can romance, and a few hook ups as well.
there's no 'gift' system either, players will really have to click with their fave in conversation (and choose to side with the right faction) to win hearts. there is a polyship option, and custom pronouns too. it's an audacious project, so we're taking our time and keeping things low stress for all our contributors.
we're still looking for more writers/editors, splash screen artists, and ESPECIALLY sprite artists, as well as a musical composer to make the sound track (otherwise we're going to have to hunt down some royalty free stuff) if anyone wants in, shoot me a dm. everyone else: sorry you'll have to wait for beta to play. 🤣

A game of giving Obi-Wan flowers
This is me having fun writing micro fics giving lots of flowers to Obi-Wan and playing around with flower language.
(disclosure: I have no/little idea what I'm doing, so don't judge me too harshly if I make mistakes)
1.
Anakin looked around the vast and luscious room, his eyes wide with wonder as the sound of trickling and rushing water permeated everything. Astonishment and awe was evident in his gaze as it sought Obi-Wan's.
“It's okay, dear one,” Obi-Wan assured, the endearment escaping him unexpectedly, “go on, explore, I'll wait for you here.” He pointed towards a clearing where a small pond formed the center.
After a last hesitant glance and an assuring nod, Anakin set off, his entire existence glowing with eager curiosity.
Chuckling to himself, Obi-Wan sat down, crossing his legs. He closed his eyes expecting that it would be quite some time before his Padawan returned to him, and he intended to use the time to meditate and collect his thoughts, Force knew he needed it. He allowed the peace and everlasting sound of water to wash over him as he slowed the rhythm of his breathing. Opening himself to the Force, he was mindful of the still tenuous thread that bound him to Anakin, not that the boy was difficult to sense, his presence like a beacon even here.
Obi-Wan released a deep breath, sinking effortlessly into the flow of the Force.
Some time later, he returned to the present, sensing Anakin's close proximity.
He blinked his eyes open, a smile spreading across his lips when he saw Anakin holding a large flower towards him, the blue-purple color of the hydrangea stunning.
“I asked if it was okay,” were the first words out of his slightly blushing Padawan's mouth. “I didn't know if it was okay to pick the flowers, but Master Thana said it was okay.”
Obi-Wan smiled and nodded.
“Thank you. I appreciate this.”
Obi-Wan gazed at the flower still smiling. Anakin couldn't know it but he had unknowingly continued the somewhat unusual tradition of Obi-Wan receiving flowers from his closest friends. It was something that had started as a joke when he was a youngling and his fellow younglings had discovered his interest in flowers. Over the years, others had participated in what had evolved into a sort of game where he had to guess who sent him the flowers based on their different meanings or other hints.
Anakin sent him a bright smile, and Obi-Wan felt the new bond between them expand. The former slave possessed an unexpectedly generous nature Obi-Wan hoped he would be able to maintain.
“Come, Padawan, let us meditate together.”
He motioned for Anakin to join him in the lush grass, pleased when he obediently followed his instructions, sensing that it probably wouldn't always be this easy.

On the Jedi and Death
Another adaptation of a Reddit piece I submitted not too long ago found here.
When I wrote of the relationship between the transcendentalists and the force, I had in mind of the relationship between death and the force. And how indeed the Jedi view on death might be contrasted with that of the Sith. being perhaps one of the greatest signs of that selfishness that George a Lucas was attempting to warn us of.
Much of what I have I say has oft been repeated before, and I doubt much revelation will come from this short essay. Certainly I think there has come a great deal of misconceptions come about when some people speak of the Jedi and their views on attachment, as relates to them.
There are still, even with the added discourse towards the prequel era Jedi and their views on attachment, whom believe that the Jedi have little emotions towards others. A stark contrast when one compares the words of Mace Windu, Adi Gallia, Plo Koon to Aayla Secura with regards to the of Master Tyvooka as found in Star Wars: Republic 37
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This may all at a glance seem to go against what Grandmaster Yoda said in perhaps the most famous quote in all of Star Wars with regards to as found in Revenge of the Sith,
"Death is a natural part of life, Rejoice for those around us who transform into the Force. Mourn them, do not. Miss them, do not. Attachment leads to jealousy, the shadow of greed, that is.
Indeed many a great deal of misconceptions with regards to the Jedi, and their alleged callousness towards others occur with this quote. First one must note that Yoda never shown any signs of thinking mourning another is wrong. Indeed in the novel, Yoda: Dark Rendezvous Yoda not only allowed Whie and Scout to mourn their masters, he mourned alongside them.
“Yoda told stories, and ate, and cried, and laughed: and the Padawans saw that life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.”
Yet even if one we’re to not know this, I would urge one to consider the context of the quote, wherein Anakin precedes this quote by saying to Yoda that he will not let his visions come true. Hence Yoda calling attachment the shadow of greed. One might interpret this instead as Yoda reaffirming to Anakin that the Jedi accept, that is not something to fear. One might interpret his words to be about Anakin already mourning and dreading the loss of this person close to him. He is trying to hold onto someone, and as we know nothing is forever. David talks Star Wars goes rather in depth with that point of view here.
The sense of loss of something has always haunted Anakin as seen in the Revenge of the Sith Novel where a flashback takes us back to Anakin and Obi-Wan observing a dying star.
"It is the way of the universe, which is another manner of saying that it is the will of the Force," Obi-Wan had told him. "Everything dies. In time, even stars burn out. This is why Jedi form no attachments: all things pass. To hold on to something- or someone-beyond its time is to set your selfish desires against the Force. That is a path of misery, Anakin; the Jedi do not walk it."
That is the kind of fear that lives inside Anakin Skywalker: the dragon of that dead star. It is an ancient, cold dead voice within his heart that whispers all things die...
Once more it is shown that to the Jedi  death is natural and not something to shy away from, as Obi-Wan says it is the path of misery. Anakin’s fear of is evident and it leaves him vulnerable to his downfall, his fear of and inability to love without attachment means Sidious is able to manipulate him.
Death should be expected and felt, as explained by Quinlan Vos to Aayla:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And fear of death is how we can contrast the Jedi view of against that of the Sith. No matter how powerful any Sith might have been, there is always this lingering fear of death in all of them. From the most powerful of Sith Lords such as Valkorion, Plagueis, and Sidious each of them sought an escape from death, whether it be through the use of clones, proxies, or a manipulation of midichlorians.
Indeed Star Wars is not exempt from many Sith who escaped would be, look no further than Darth Maul who stated to escape death he tapped into his hatred, or Darth Sion, a being so determined to avoid that his very body was decomposing. Maul’s own survival and quest for revenge ultimately left him mad. We can see that neither of these existences are what one might call peaceful.
Indeed the Sith quest for ultimate life has on brief occasions resulted in some Sith managing to linger on after, some Sith even staying as ghosts, yet these existences are anything but peaceful.
The irony of course is that no matter how much Sith crave eternal life, only the Jedi truly can achieve this goal as seen in a conversation between Qui-Gon and Yoda:
"The ultimate goal of the Sith, yet they can never achieve it; it comes only through the release of self, not the exaltation of self. It comes through compassion, not greed. Love is the answer to the darkness.”
Love being key to a Jedi, as George Lucas has never once stated Jedi cannot love as seen in an excerpt here about love.
“They can still love people. But they can’t possess them. They can’t own them. They can’t demand that they do things. They have to be able to accept […] their mortality, that they are going to die. And not worry about it. That the loved ones they have, everything they love is going to die and they can’t do anything about it. I mean they can protect them as you would ordinarily protect, you know, ‘Get out of the way of that car.’ Somebody charges you with a gun, you knock the gun out, but there is an inevitability to life which is and you have to accept that.”
Returning to Anakin it’s here we see a difference on how he cannot live knowing that others around him will die. That’s how a Jedi lives they see as not something to fear, but as a part of life that will eventually claim them all, hence Yoda’s words in Return of the Jedi:
“Strong am I with the Force, but not that strong. Twilight is upon me, and soon, night must fall. That is the way of things. The way of the Force”
Once more I don’t expect this post to contain much revelatory information, but I do think it’s important to have these sort of quotes and examples here for people to be able to read them and have at their disposal. The Jedi view of mortality is quite a peaceful one, and in my personal life I’ve always found it to be a sort of comfort, knowing it will come and willing to accept it is not always something we see in media. And in the end that seems to be consistent with Lucas’ desire for us to see the Jedi as unselfish.

Last line challenge! @ithillia and @cacodaemonia tagged me and I'm finally getting around to it lol. Also, uno reverse on the both of you <3
This one's for a SithyWan Week treat ;3
The Dark was almost suffocating. If Quinlan wasn’t so familiar with it from his life as a Shadow, he would have frozen like a deer in headlights. As it was, every instinct in him was screaming at him to turn around and get the hells off this Force-forsaken moon. Unfortunately, he had a job to do, and that job was not to turn tail and run back home to his nice, comfy bed where nothing bad ever happened.
We love Quin <3

Assuming there will be a Tales of the Jedi Season 2, there are two Jedi who I believe are perfect for this limited format of storytelling:
Master Qui-Gon Jinn & Master Quinlan Voss.
Not only do they have interesting stories, but I think that they have stories that will fit into the canon nicely and can be built on in the future (Quinlan with the PATH and Qui-Gon who presumably is training Obi-Wan the ways of a force ghost).
For a potential Tales of the Empire season I would go with Rae Sloane & Commander Cody.
With Sloane we get the rise and fall of the empire and the setup for the First Order. Starting with her rise through the ranks and ultimately ending with her being granted the keys to the kingdom as she sets up the Firsts Order.
With Cody, we get to see the life of a Clone who fell in line and served the Empire. We also get to see Cody's life after he deserts from the Empire after becoming disenchanted with a life of service. I would eat some TOTE Cody episodes up!
Plus these two would meld so well together because as Cody symbolizes the end of the clone's service to the Sith we can also see the beginnings of the rise of Stormtroopers.
They also need to give us a full fledged Tales of The Sith in which they start with the man himself: Darth Sideous.
Obviously there is a lot to work with here. There is so much backstory and missing holes that need to be filled in his story that I wouldn't even want to focus on anyone else. Maybe they should do half of the episodes about Sheev and the other half about Sideous. I need some answers.
Then of course if they follow to the logical conclusion they are required to make a Tales of the First Order.
Here is where we go in tandem and tell the stories of Armitage Hux and Kylo Ren.
Hux is a fascinating case of nepotism that climbs the ranks, but is ultimately impeded by Kylo Ren who is who he is. Seeing Kylo destroy the Jedi Temple and rise to Supreme Leader would be great to see. We could then even watch the beginning of both of their redemption arcs.

🔥Flash fiction / 3k (part of the ongoing sithywan collection)🔥
~snippet~
Obi-Wan asks, “May I?” gesturing to Maul's newest piercing.
Yellow eyes regard him, then close permissively.
He sets a knuckle under that sharp chin, turning the angle of the man's face into the right light to better see the addition.
“Lovely,” he murmurs softly, gently stroking it with a thumb.
Maul's red lower lip comes unmoored from the black stained upper one. The bright rubies that tip the barbell glimmer attractively, one centered on his lower lip, the other beneath.
That sparkle is... dreadfully inviting.
