Honestly, Anon, right call. It’s like the show is testing the audience’s tolerance for a protagonist who keeps pulling the same nonsense with worse and worse results.

There are so many other kids’ shows that have similar content to Miraculous that manage not to shit the bed this badly, mostly because this is like, unprecedented levels of shitting the bed, no Gainax Ending in the history of the studio was as crappy as this show’s post-retool finales and specials.

I have a growing list of recommendations of better stuff to watch that tackle similar topics and themes to Miraculous

Kim Possible: girl power action shows whose creators are not insecure about how awesome their protagonist is

Shugo Chara: a magical girl show that has a very similar setup and arc to Miraculous, we even have a mistreated cat boy love interest who actually gets to take part in the finale

W.I.T.C.H. a magical girl show with a fun team. The girls have actual problems they need to deal with in their civilian lives and they have to deal with dual identity problems

Totally Spies: an action cartoon with girl leads where Astruc once again gaslights the audience about what goes on in the show, but this time it’s about harmless stuff like trying to convince you the one-off villains are recurring threats who have totally showed up before and you should know who they are instead of trying to tell you abuse apologia is what all the cool girlbosses do

Teen Titans: a superhero team show for those who thought the S2 finale was peak Miraculous, Robin even has an arc about being an overly controlling team leader and about not being clear about his feelings and how those are bad things

The Owl House: an isekai fantasy cartoon that deconstructs the power fantasy aspects of the current genre, with cool world-building, likable characters and much better handled storylines for parental abuse and artificial humans than in Miraculous

Ultimate Spider-Man: superhero cartoon with very similar vibes to Miraculous S1-3, and it has a proper redemption arc into a hero with Flash. It also has the honor of being one of the few (if not the only) Spider-Man shows with a satisfying conclusion

Static Shock: Is just a finger-licking good kid superhero show. It also does a Chloé-like character better than Miraculous

Frankly, you could probably just google "super hero cartoon" or "magical girl show" and the random results are very, very, very likely to be a better show than Miraculous.

Kingdom Hearts x Shugo Chara Mash Up!

Following on from the Amuto inspired princess carry Aquaroth pic from a while back, I had this random idea to doodle Aqua and some others basing the poses off Shugo Chara screenshots.

I decided to just put the gifs alongside still frames bc I can't animate. So, you can just imagine it with me~

This anime was a big part of my childhood and a guilty pleasure of mine, I suppose - it has all the shoujo vibes that I enjoyed as a kid. (and still do now with certain things ( •̀ ω •́ )✧ )

This is not meant to be a KH/FF themed Shugo Chara AU (*￣;(￣ *)

As in, I'm not making an entire universe where the KH/FF characters replace the Shugo Chara ones and they have their own story or something. I just liked the cinematography of the first opening and wanted to do something with it.

That being said, I do see connections with Aqua and Amu; that whole thing of what you're expected to be and who you really want to be. Aqua, of course, always drowning in her own wishes to be "the good, responsible one".

But...yeah! This was fun. >w< Some of my art I'm just like ._. but oh well.

I apologise if it made no sense, hahaha

I'm definitely going to be doing some more Amuto scenes from this anime with Aquaroth in a similar style so if you're keen on that, stay tuned >w>

This internet anime series follows Angela King and her friends as they defend their universe from the evil CyberDevils, all while learning about friendship, teamwork, and solving the many mysteries surrounding their galaxy. Taking inspiration from many early 2000’s magical girl anime’s including Tokyo Mew Mew, Shugo Chara, and Cardcaptor Sakura, Starlight Angels seeks to emulate this era of the internet through its Y2K aesthetic and hand-drawn animation.

More greatest hits from the Neoworld Timeloop AU, this time starting Himiko. For Himiko, part of me just wanted to reference different styles of magical girls. So these outfits have elements from Ojamajo Doremi, Sugar Rune, Shugo Chara, and Tokyo Mewmew.

Season 11 was the Ace Attourney homage, and the vibe is pure unadulterated cringe. Her and Kokichi bickered a lot this season, with them 'ironically' spending time together to debate over kids shows. She's the vicitm of the fifth trial, having triggered a trap set in chapter two by Kokichi. He ends up not being the killer, but the guilt she got caught because of him throws off the final trial.

Season 15 Himiko spends most of this season quietly working on her trilogy, with many gags revolving around how she never sleeps. After she finishes it, she has nothing to channel her anxiety into and the stress of the killing game gets to her. Able to sleep peacefully after, she barely remembers what happened, and is abel to bluff through most of the trial before getting pinned by a lack of alabi. It takes the group a while to realize the murder weapon was a pencil she was still wearing in her hair during the trail. Her trial has her sacraficed to a robotic dragon.

Season 52 Himiko's the mastermind, leaning heavily on the idea the killing game is one giant LARP session with an emphasis on 'live'. Card suit and card games were heavily utalized as a theme, and Himiko's end dress is inspired by the Queen of Hearts. Right before the vote, she preforms a basic card trick, pulling opposite colored 'matching' cards. Her patter, revolves around balance, opposites. The vote is cast and the group realises too late, the two survivors left behind will take the roles of Mastermind and Ultamite Survivor for the next game. Himiko's bombastic 'final show' execution ends with her declaring that she will take the last bow. Some of her 'tricks' were left behind after the reset for S53, including trap doors and secret exits.

LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: i absolutely struggle with novella. i will admit it. i hate writing fluff to fill in the space just so that it appears im also writing novella, but it doesn't mean i won't reply. you gotta give me.... 5-7 months to get back to you oops oops!! so i prefer like 3-5 paragraphs since that's way more manageable for me.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: mornings... when night hits, aka when everyone is active, is when i'd rather be gaming or watching something. the day is done! i must cocoon... but mornings is when i'll dish things out way faster and i don't use queue anymore. when im done writing, im gonna post it!

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: airin and xavier will always be little pieces of me. can't change that since airin was my first oc when i was around 5 years old, and xavier came around in my early middle school years. so in ways, yes! As you can see, it’s not a lot. I really wanna watch Ojamajo Doremi, but I can’t really find an efficient way to watch it in order, especially on the websites I use.

If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Cardcaptor Sakura. It’s so cute, and I love the vibe! Even though there are definitely a lot of things wrong with it…

I also tried watching Shugo Chara, but I couldn’t get past the age gap… Things like that stop me from watching or continuing lots of animes. I only continued Yes! Precure 5 because I wanted to watch all of Precure, and because Nozomi and Coco’s relationship wasn’t really a main focus of the show.

Sorry, I got a bit off topic there. Anyway, I’ve only seen a few other magical girl series. I have quite a few on my watchlist though. But it really takes a while to get to them…
