Anyone! What if the main circle played a game of Never-have-i-ever and Dabi or someone says "Never have I ever killed someone" would Midoriya take the time to really think abt it and (wrongfully) assume he did and take a drink (of apple juice ofc....or a nasty mix of condiments)? OMG ITD BE HILARIOUS IF HAWKS WAS THERE JUST LIKE o.O
“Never have I ever…” Hawks marked a pause, letting some suspense settle in the bar. “… not paid my taxes.”
A groan echoed through the bar as Dabi, whose face was on the large table they were all sitting around, reached for his glass. His shoulders shook a little. He might have been sobbing or trying to kill Hawks with his mind. In any case, he still drank his shot with the grim determination of a man who had accepted that his liver would not see the sun rise tomorrow. Kurogiri also drank, with far more dignity.
All for One, who had been drinking non stop since the game had started and who should be dead if it wasn’t for the dozen of anti-poison quirks running around to eliminate the alcohol from his bloodstream, left his glass alone.
They had to change the rules for him and him alone. If he reached a certain amount of glasses, he
“Really?” Todoroki asked, his hand on Izuku’s shoulder. They were both drinking cold grape juice instead of alcohol but apparently, too much sugar turned Izuku’s lieutenant sleepy. “I would have thought you had never given them a yen.”
“I don’t mess with the IRS,” All for One informed him.
“Good to know,” the HPSC spy who probably thought he was really smooth to ask all those questions said. However, since he was holding the table in order to remain upright in his chair, Izuku doubted he would remember much in the morning.
It was Todoroki’s turn. He perfectly refilled everyone’s glass, giving vodka to the adults and grape juice to Izuku.
“Never have I ever killed someone.”
All for One, Hawks, Kurogiri and Dabi all took their shots and Dabi possibly passed out right here and there. Izuku reached out to him and moved his head so he wouldn’t accidentally smother himself.
As he did, Todoroki touched Izuku’s glass, lifting it from the bottom and bringing it to Izuku’s lips.
“The yakuza,” his best friend reminded him.
“The yakuza?” Izuku repeated, puzzled.
“The one with Eri.”
Ah yes, the trash toucan Izuku had saved Eri from.
“I didn’t kill…”
Izuku stopped talking for a little while. Now, this was a little embarrassing but every time he remembered the day he had become a villain, the joy of getting One for All, of finally having his own quirk, overwhelmed everything else. Even Eri, despite being perfect and someone Izuku adored, wasn’t close to the most important thing that had happened that day.
It was why until now, he hadn’t thought of the yakuza who had tried to kill him and that he had left in an alley after using One for All 100% on him.
“Oh shit,” Izuku remembered. “I guessed I did.”
He emptied his glass in one gulp because he didn't cheat during game nights.
“WHAT?” Dabi screamed.
Hawks shrieked, a sound that was both incredibly loud but that also belonged to the throat of a giant bird.
And yet, All for One managed to get louder than the both of them.
“I MISSED YOUR FIRST MURDER???”

Andy I just had a thought.. Shouto kabedon.. i’m very sane about this

You tried to ignore it when you first heard Mineta say it.
"Trust me, the babes love it," he'd lisped to his doubtful audience—Kaminari, a befuddled-looking Kirishima, and Shouto, whose face was so impassive you'd actually been under the impression he wasn't listening.
The former members of UA's graduating class of 2X74 were stuffed into Kaminari's new apartment for a party. It was mostly the heroics department, but you'd spotted a few of your fellow general course graduates as you'd passed through the kitchen to grab a drink. You'd come out into the living room to see Mina and Jirou—as well as pretend like you weren't ogling your long-time crush Shouto—but you found you were immediately regretting leaving the safety of that kitchen.
"And you've... done it?" Kirishima asked, eyebrows scrunched.
Mineta made a show of inspecting his fingernails like it was nothing to him—which you seriously doubted. "Trust me, women like assertiveness. This move is plastered all over their romance manga."
You took another sip from your drink. You wanted to pretend like you weren't hearing this, but Mina and Jirou were making it hard, Jirou stone-faced next to you and Mina unsuccessfully trying to filter her gleeful laughter into her own drink.
"Do you think women even know it's a kabedon, if he does it?" she asked, leaning in to whisper.
Jirou looked doubtful.
"He's like, waist height," you whispered back, sighing. "I don't even know if his arm would reach the wall either...?"
"I think it probably looks like he's just trying to hold himself up," Mina said, her grin unholy.
"I pity the woman he's attempted it on," Jirou said drily.
"—you're sure?" Kaminari was saying when you turned back to the boys' conversation, also looking doubtful.
"One hundred percent success rate," Mineta insisted, eyebrows wiggling.
Despite yourself, your eyes slid over to Shouto, like they almost always did, wandering over that handsomely thoughtful expression. It was the thing you liked the most about him—how his angelically beautiful visage was at stark odds with how awkward and kind of strange he was; how he looked like an ice prince but was one of the warmest, kindest people you'd ever spoken to.
You'd been paired for a couple assignments back in school, hung out on the periphery of his Class A friend groups, and had ended up teaching him a fair few things about how to cook and do laundry when he'd asked. He'd even rescued you during one of the many attacks that made up your time at UA together—which was really when your crush hit you full-force.
He'd been so gentle with you, carrying you out of harm's way when your injured leg had crumpled beneath you, and the careful way he'd handled you had been so at variance with the raw, roiling power he'd wielded on the battlefield—the tidal waves of ice that swept up the villains, the towering wall of fire that mercilessly choked off any of their escape points.
You thought Shouto was one of the most gentle, well-mannered men on earth.
He would probably never kabedon someone. He would never need to—people fell all over themselves for him.
"The babes fall right into your arms," Mineta said, raising his voice to encompass the knot of girls stuffed together on the loveseat. "Isn't that right, ladies?"
"I'm going to get another drink, the image of Mineta trying to kabedon me needs to be wiped from my brain," you told the girls, flinging yourself over Mina's legs in your haste to escape.
The kitchen was a welcome reprieve, and you dug around in Kaminari's fridge for another can, letting the cool air wash over you. You studiously ignored that all Kaminari seemed to have in his fridge was a pile of moldering grapes and some mayo.
Can acquired, you briefly considered not going back out into the living room and abandoning Mina and Jirou to their fate. But the pull of Shouto was too strong, and with a sigh you resigned yourself to more of Mineta's lechery.
In the hallway, however, you stumbled into the man himself, coming towards you from the opposite direction. You were struck momentarily dumb by the way the breadth of his shoulders seemed to take up almost the entire span of the hall, the way his fading summer tan looked against the light-blue of his button up. He was so handsome even when he was just walking, it was so deeply unfair.
"Hi Shouto," you said, raising your can in a salute, hoping your voice sounded normal. "Careful in Kaminari's fridge, he's culturing something on his grapes."
Shouto blinked down at you, those beautiful mismatched eyes growing a little wider. "Y/N," he greeted you, though there was a note of something strange in his voice, like there was something weird about you that he hadn't expected.
You wondered if you'd spilled something on yourself like a child, and decided to detour to the bathroom on your way back. How embarrassing.
You gave him a rueful grin, stuffing yourself against the wall so you wouldn't accidentally bump a strong shoulder as you passed, swearing vengeance on your drink if it had betrayed you in this moment—
Except, suddenly there was a hand against the wall in front of you, blocking your passage down the hall. You startled, whipping back around to stare at Shouto, only to find him looming way closer than you had anticipated.
Your back bumped the wall as he crowded you in, his other arm coming up to press against the wall on your other side, caging you inside his reach.
Your mind was so overwhelmed with the sight of him this close—that straight, blade-thin nose, that full, pouty mouth—the light touch of some expensive cologne at his collarpoints—that it took you a second to catch up with what was going on.
Your mouth dropped open when you registered that Todoroki Shouto had just—kabedoned you?—was actively kabedonning you? what the literal fuck—in the middle of Kaminari's hallway.
"Shouto? What—?" you managed, your voice strangled. The air felt like it was resisting you, refusing to be drawn into your lungs.
Shouto's voice was low and intimate as he answered, sending a mortifyingly visible shiver right down your spine. "Is it working?"
You gaped at him, eyes flickering over his serious expression. "Is—what—?"
Shouto shifted even closer, so that his face was a scant two inches from yours. You were suddenly, horrifyingly aware of how close his mouth was, how tall and strong and warm he was over you.
"Do you plan to fall into my arms?" Shouto asked. "Mineta said women liked it."
It was a fight for your life to make the connection over the static in your brain, the lack of oxygen in the air. Mineta had said women would fall for you if you kabedonned them... Shouto was.... kabedonning you.... computation pending...
"You... want it to work?" you asked, words clipped. You felt like any stray movement and your mouth would brush his, and you didn't know if he wanted—it was too strange to think that he might—
"Yes," Shouto replied, his handsome face serious. Those heterochromatic eyes searched over you, trailing over your features like a warm touch. "I want it to. Am I... not doing it correctly?"
Your face heated, and an entire conservatory of butterflies took flight in your stomach. You could not believe what was going on right now.
"No you're—you're doing it right."
Shouto's face was even closer, then, his mouth a whisper away from yours. "Then you have fallen for me," he said, sounding like both a question and a conclusion. He looked like he didn't know what to do next.
You had to suppress a laugh, charmed and mystified and nervous all at once. He was so reliably strange—of course he had taken Mineta's assertions at face value. And he was so straightforward, of course he had implemented the advice straight away. He was so silly, you liked him so, so much.
"I... have," you said, a helpless smile creeping over your lips. "Although it was a while before the kabedon, to be honest."
Shouto blinked, and you could just barely see his mouth grow a little slack in surprise. "Oh," he said, a hint of a shy smile touching his mouth. "Good."
"Yeah. Good," you said, your own grin going wider.
Shouto's eyes dipped down to your mouth, and his eyelashes fluttered. A thrill of anticipation went down your spine, your knees suddenly liquefying, as Shouto leaned back in, and your own eyes fluttered closed.
The press of his mouth was hot and soft—perfect, like you'd always fantasized it would be. He shifted closer, so that he pressed against you, and you had to tilt your head back to accommodate how tall he was, reveling in the strength and the heat of him over you. One of his hands left the wall to thread into your hair as he kissed you, cradling the back of your head like you were something precious, and your stomach swooped in response.
He kissed you boneless, absolutely stupid against the wall of Kaminari's hallway, and it was all your could do to wrap your arms around him and kiss him back. You didn't know how long it was that the two of you stood there, wrapped up in one other. All you knew was you never wanted Shouto's mouth to leave yours again, never wanted to leave the circle of his embrace.
So of course an appreciative whistle broke the two of you apart. You tore your mouth away from Shouto's only to find Mineta standing at the end of the hall, grinning like a wolf. A tiny, lecherous little wolf.
"Nice one, Tododoki," he said, like you weren't even there.
You bristled, stiffening in Shouto's arms as you glanced back at him quickly to measure his response. But the dazed look on Shouto's face pulled you up short, and he looked at Mineta like he wasn't really seeing him.
"You were right," was what he eventually managed. "The kabedon is very effective. Now if you will excuse us, I need to do it again."
A shocked laugh escaped you as Shouto's hand seized yours, and then you were being pulled around the corner into Kaminari's bathroom. Shouto walked you back against the door, an arm coming up just like before, pinning you against the door.
Another pleased laugh was muffled in Shouto's mouth as he took yours again, cupping your face to his. The lock clicked shut behind you.

hi, rosie! I hope your weekend has been going well! I caught sight of your game night and wanted to send in my own game request. d'you think you could think up something for Shouto? no pressure, you've got free rein & total refusal. have a good week, dear!
Tumblr media
"I think we should consider a child."
You slowly set down your wine glass. "As in... Having one?"
Shouto nods curtly, the one you've seen him use during business propositions. He rarely acts so stiff and official with you, only ever when talking about serious topics and only when he's nervous to talk about them.
"Okay," you say, approaching the topic in the way that will make him feel more at ease. "Let's consider all the factors. We're more than financially able."
"Yes, and we have more than enough to begin setting aside a large savings account for our child's future," he confirms, shoulders already beginning to lose their stiff, rigid shape.
"There's plenty of room in our house, we wouldn't have to make any big changes there."
"Yes, but perhaps it would be beneficial to move my home office to the smaller room downstairs so that the nursery is close by," he says.
You smile. "That's a very good idea."
"We've already traveled together a lot and I feel that we have had plenty of time to ourselves that we would not regret having a child before living our own lives."
"I agree," you say. "We also love each other very much."
His face softens, a smile sprouting and gentle joy blooming in his eyes. "Yes, we do."
"If we had a child we would be able to provide them with a safe, loving support system where they could be whoever they like, no expectations other than to be a good person."
Shouto nods. "Then we are in agreement. Shall we begin tonight?"
You laugh, raising your wine glass to cheers him. "I'd love nothing more."

IM NOTHING LIKE YALL!!
Hinata Shouyo X Reader
<Asking her out.>
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By STARI✵
Summary: Hinata Shouyo will prove that he CAN ask his crush out because he's no coward!! Right??
Warning/notes: nothinggg this is fluffy:>>
God. Oh God.
Shouyo actually panicked internally, wondering how the hell he got himself into a situation like this one.
His limbs shook uncomfortably, and his face flushed with all the shades of a soft pink hue.
He couldn't believe he mustered up the courage to actually get his crush, y/n alone with him all by his own means.
Nonetheless, he had to take his opportunity and make the most of it.
Talking to you wasn't as difficult as it used to be ever since you offered and tutored him for English without him even asking.
There was no need for him to, honestly. He was struggling, and it was quite honestly evident in the way he stared at that one test in horror after reading the first question.
You always thought the redhead who sat next to you was a cutie.
He had caught you outside that day after school and asked you to toss some volleyballs for him out in the green, grassy fields of Karasuno high. The tips of his ears redened, and he struggled to hold proper eye contact. How in the world could you possibly say no to that goober?
In all reality, this was all part of shouyo's plan.
It was no coincidence that Hinata Shouyo somehow ended up at the same place as you at the same time.
After being clowned by his teammates for weeks prior, thanks to tsukishima letting it slip that he knew about Shouyos's little crush, he had to defend himself somehow!
Maybe swearing that he wasn't scared of you and that he could ask you out tomorrow wasn't the best choice.
The entire day, shouyo spent it regretting every single choice he had made up until that point and calculating exactly how he could go about asking you out on a non study, non volleyball-related hangout.
"Want another one, shouyo?" You wondered, tossing the volleyball swiftly between both of your palms in front of you with a calm, patient smile.
Shouyo had gotten you to toss up balls for him to receive, which was proving to be quite a challenge. Not only was Shouyo already incompetent when it came to receiving a ball, but now he had to do it in front of the person who made him most nervous.
The pressure was VERY much on.
"Y-yes, please!" He didn't even think about how he stuttered, your voice calling him by his first name rang far too loudly in his mind for any other proper thoughts to be formed.
You hold the ball in your hands still again and grin as you swing your arms up and launch the ball into the air for Shouyo to receive a perfect toss.
He does just that in a split moment of focus, which makes you hop up from your spot and give a cheer,
"Wow! That one was so much better!" You grin and jog over to the ball, which landed a few feet away from you both.
Shouyo took the opportunity to wipe the intense amount of sweat from his brow and take a deep breath to calm himself all in a quiet, swift motion of his arm.
He needed to chill.
"Hey, shouyo?" Y/n spoke, catching him off guard.
"Y-yeah?" He spoke, leaving his receiver stance and standing up straight to face you as you settled in front of him again.
"It's getting pretty late." You state, staring at the screen of your phone which reflected a bright blue hue of light on your smoothe, pretty skin.
"Oh! Do you need to go..? I can walk you to the gate." Shouto offered praying for this to be his chance finally.
He had been observing the pretty girl who smiled at him every morning before taking her seat next to him since the beginning of that school year. It came as a complete utter shock when she offered to tutor him. He had reluctantly accepted your offer, knowing he wouldn't be able to focus very well when you scooted so close to him.
But when he discovered how bright and beautiful the crinkle of your eyes was when you cheered him on after getting a single question correct, he had no choice but to do anything he could to see it again.
"You'll really do that?"
"It's the least I can do! I made you stay here later than you usually do..so it's only right that I do something like that!" The redhead smiled at you. It made your heart swell and swoon.
"Okay then! Thank you so much!"
The boy nodded, and soon, the two of you were inches away from each other as you walked in the direction of the main gate.
It was silent, and to be completely honest, shouyo was far from calm.
His brain rattled and ran around in circles violently, his heart pounding and begging for him to just say something, anything.
Just make a move already!!
Y/n was no different. She wanted this to be a nice calm walk with her crush, but she couldn't stand being so close to him without saying anything. Her favorite thing about him was his cheery voice, after all.
Everything that came from his lips was a beautiful melody that filled your days with sweet laughter and fun, along with an air of melancholy longing when he was off somewhere else.
"So..shouyo?" She spoke, her voice shooting a warmth through his blood and every inch of him up to the tips of his ears and nose, pulling him from his panicked thoughts.
"What's up?" The boy wondered, looking over at her, patiently waiting to hear her next words.
"You know..the other day, I missed out on my club activities, because.. I wanted to watch you practice."
Shouyo was taken aback. You wanted to watch him practice? You missed out on your favorite part of the day because you wanted to see him?
"Ah! I'm sorry I didn't notice you were there." The boy apologizes, still shocked by the information.
"That's okay, shouyo, you were so concentrated and cool!" Shouyos's face flushes further, he was sure his face would melt of if you gave him another compliment.
"Cool?" He repeats, mostly to himself.
"Mhm! So cool!"
Those words coming from your lips were all the validation he could ever need. Someone as gorgeous, cool, and amazing as you really thought HE was cool?? Could you say anything more fascinating?
This was his shot, shouyo could compliment you back and ask you out now! He had to take this opportunity, or it might never appear again.
How should he say this? What part of you should he compliment? God! You're just too perfect.
"Y/n-"
"Shouyo-"
The two of you stare at each other, checks burning.
"Oh uh-"
"Oops.. you can go first."
"No. No, please, you go first." Shouto waited patiently for you to tell him to go first again, then he would surely shoot his shot! If he could only find the words and where to begin.
Instead, y/n nods nervously, and her steps come to a hault, which shouyo copies.
Oh no..
Did he lose his chance?
"I was wondering.."
She began, Shouyo hung to her every word, watching her, making her squirm slightly and look away from him out of embarrassment. His gaze was intense, making her words squeak out unintentionally quietly.
"Would you umm..well, if you happen to be free anytime soon..would you want to hang out with me..? Like - outside of school?"
Shouyo had to double check in with himself-
Oh. my. god.
Is this real?
Did she actually just say that...
"It's okay if you don't want to.. I understand." Those words and the horrified look on her face snapped him out of it, and he scanned his entire brain for a response that could possibly express how badly he did, infact want, to hangout with her sometime outside of school.
GOD, HE WANTED TO SO BAD!!
"YEA!" He blurted enthusiastically, and maybe too enthusiastically.
"I-i mean! Well, I would love to!"
Her expression slowly softened into a relieved, fair, practically divine smile that plastered itself gorgeously on her face.
"Shouyo, I'm so glad! Then..it's a date! Right?"
.
.
.
BONUS!
On his way home, shouyo replayed your special moment in his head over and over again.
He was extatic! Who wouldn't be?
However, he was the slightest bit bummed that you took his opportunity as your own. He was a little ashamed he couldn't do it himself.
As shouyo took a moment of silence to mourn his plan, he felt his phone buzzing in his pocket. He quickly fetched it out and stared at the screen.

Flowers fall salubriously over the skies of Venora, the sun’s warmth spreading over the fingertips of anyone sauntering outside to perform their duties for that day…or to any of the many children that decided to skip around their village knee-level of the citizens with flowers in their hair, engaging in anything that excited their blooming curiosity. Venora is one of- if not the most flourishing of countries, being outstandingly large, and having one of the most capable and efficient militia. It is a strong belief here that everyone has their purpose in life, and everyone has their own “talent” or gift given to them to serve that purpose. Many people are aware of their gifts from an early age, some without, and have hairs turning silver and still letting life lead them in whichever direction the wind blows. All in all, it’s a safe country to live your hopes and dreams in.
Besides, you learned the punishment for breaking some of the laws can be quite severe, and said punishments are severe enough to strike terror into the citizens who consider tampering with them.
Tumblr media
“Really?? We get to visit the palace??” A little child squealed into their mother’s lap, that child just so happened to be you. Playing princesses with your friends was entertaining, yes, but it couldn’t compare with the real thing. It played over and over inside your feeble brain, the diamond chandeliers, the gold-plated statues, the doors, the throne room. Just the thought would make any insouciant child like yourself shake with anticipation.
“You mustn't make a scene when we get there, dear. As much as I understand your excitement, the palace can’t be mistaken to you as a place of fun and games, it’s quite serious. Your father is attending a meeting, so you and I get to stay for a while to attend the holiday. If you’re lucky, you might be able to attend the ball with me.” Your mother almost immediately regrets the last few sentences of her speech, now having to deal with a squealing 5-year-old who cannot control their emotions any longer. After a long sigh, she scooped you off her lap, walking over to the bedroom to place you into bed. There were paintings with stars and sparkles adorning the ceiling above your bed, and you convinced your mother to help hang stars from the faded paint spots. The dim lighting in a shade of dark blue truly did make the stars sparkle, including the ones hanging in your room and the stars that dance together in the sky. It made you wonder if they had the same paintings on the palace walls, maybe even more. With a kiss to your forehead, she tucked you in your bed and tried to step away, but failed due to you reaching out your tiny hand to grab onto her yellow sundress. “Do you think I can be a princess? Like the ones in the big palace?” “I'm sure you can, and I bet you’ll be the prettiest princess ever. However… I'm afraid princesses get beauty sleep, and at this rate, you’ll turn into a gremlin with baggy eyes!” She smiled when your body immediately went lax, and you flopped onto your bed sheets and snored as if you’d been sleeping for over a hundred years. With that, she left your room.
Tumblr media
Your father was in a state of alamort, putting in as much effort as his soul allowed him to move your family higher status and reputation, but to no avail. His majesty had barely spared a glance at him, and he hoped that this ceremony would be an opportunity to bring his family higher. Your family was by no means struggling with money or bringing food on the table, more so struggling to maintain the reputation that's been withheld in your bloodline for generations.
Nobility was a hard bargain. Your surname was well known in the village you lived in, but it didn’t advance any farther than that. The family’s worth compared to that as a bystander you’d see in royal events, just slightly over a commoner, nothing to ever be placed near the grand royalty of the Todoroki bloodline.
The annual Crescent Moon ceremony was taking place in just a small amount of time, a celebration to symbolize family, fertility, empowerment, and to appreciate life’s lavish graces. It most certainly wasn’t the most important of events, but the meaning behind it gave reason to be very…lavish, and thriftless. A perfect event for a child to witness, as it romanticizes royal life to the utmost degree.
So, in the restless dreams of a 5-year-old girl, you’d be sitting on a throne adorned with diamonds, and a version of yourself that you would assume is an older you. A crown so shiny that if angled towards the sun, would blind anyone looking in your direction. It sits atop your perfectly placed strands of hair, not a single one out of place. Maybe if you thought hard enough, you’d be able to visualize a chromatic ring wrapped around your 4th finger, followed by the lips of a handsome prince pressed against the front of your hand.. is there a prince at the castle? Even a little girl can be bashful sometimes, maybe he’d be like the books, with a prodigious sword attached to his hip and weighty boots that slammed against marble floors, signaling his arrival earlier than his presence could. So.. speaking like a 5-year-old girl, this place is gonna be super duper awesome!!!
Tumblr media
This… however..was not very awesome. It'd been almost.. 5 hours now? The sun is still high in the sky, burning down at the wooden carriage you rode in. It was hot, and your mother said that if you whined one more time about the heat, she’d make sure you’d get none of the palace desserts when they got to the capital of Venora, also known as Solaris. It was the diamond of the country, and where the tremendously large castle stays solemn. It’s where the royal family of Venora has resided for years. There are neighboring castles, much smaller, reserved for the high nobles, and your mother promised you’d get to see them when the carriage reached Solaris. Some were located on the way to the main castle, but some were buried deep in the wispy green forests, lakes, and hills that were outspread in Solaris, practically smothering the land. The only exception being the main village, which is said to be the largest city in the country. Your mother said that it’s not the best or most habitable place to live in. Tourists, and merchants, all of them practically suffocate the city, leaving little to no room for long-time inhabitants. If you want to live close to the castle, it’s best if you build your own place.
“Are we there-”
“Don’t even start, missy.” Your mother quipped before you could finish your childish statement.
“But-”
“You know, princesses are very calm and patient people. They ride in royal carriages all the time, simply waving at passersby. How could you be a princess if you can’t even make it to the castle without whining, dear?” Comparing you to a princess is the only way she knew would always get you to behave, it always worked well, proven by the silence the rest of the trip.
However, the mind of a little girl never stayed quiet, and as you peered out of the lights that the wood would allow, you could see your father’s carriage right in front of your own. It seemed that he was a quiet man, always thinking, but never speaking. Unless it was towards your mother about mundane things, he was always in his study, thinking. You couldn’t fathom what he could be up to, what could be so interesting or demanding that a simple nobleman as your father would be locked up inside the silence of his stone-walled office.
Sometimes at home, you’d see fathers - laughing and playing with their children, but that was never the case with yours. In fact, he never really spoke to your mother either. In contrast, your mother was as warm as a white fur blanket, like the ones she said were common in the palace, but rare and expensive to find in your own village. She always spoke with you, seeing as you had no other siblings. Speaking of which, you asked her about that idea once, having siblings. Quickly your mother hushed you of the idea, saying that it wouldn’t be happening anytime soon, almost looking hurt at what you said, so you never mentioned it again.
Having many children was a miracle at this age, why was she so against it-
The sound of faded cheers and chatter dragged you out of the deep reflection of your thoughts. Are we there yet-?
You slammed a hand over your mouth when you realized you had said that last part out loud, slowly turning your gaze over to your mother, who narrowed her eyes at you. Yet the look on her face quickly softened as she sighed, and announced; “Yes, we are here!” Even she couldn’t contain her excitement, yet she quickly had to compose herself and grab you, as you were just about to leap out of the carriage. “We are in Solaris, not near the castle yet. I can’t let you go out into the village, it’s filled with people for the ceremony and you’d surely be trampled. If you want to view the commotion, simply watch through the carriage.” She simply grinned at you as you whined, and pressed your face to the carriage glass.
Tumblr media
The sun was still in the sky, but much lower. You had made it to your temporary estate, and you were astounded at the sheer size of the exterior. It was nearly thrice as big as your regular estate, with gardens on each side with their own unique plants, your favorite being the dazzling lilies on the left side, and the charming gladiolus on the right. There was even a butler waiting for you, and you scampered up to him with a smile, which he gladly returned to you. Your mother was, discreetly, also amazed at the size, simply internalizing her emotions, with nothing but soft upturned lips and a slight sparkle in her eyes. Your father, though, had the exact opposite emotions. He looked rather displeased, evident with the slight scowl on his face, what could he be so upset about? You decided to tug on his suit pants, directing his scowl at you, but he loosened his angry face at the sight of your frown.
“Why are you sad, pa? This place is so big!” He lost his scowl completely, opting to look at you with a neutral face instead to not upset you anymore, and walking towards the front door of the estate, lamenting to himself instead “It could have been bigger.”
The inside was just as impressive, ancient paintings with gold plated frames, silverware decorated in intricate patterns and designs carved into the metal. The thing that caught your eye the most, was the stunning piano in the foyer of the estate. You had half the mind to climb the piano stool, and mash your little fingers against the keys, you were almost successful too, if it weren’t for your mother holding the collar of your dress. …
Much to your mother’s delight, the length of the trip ended up giving her a tuckered-out 5 year old. This was good anyway, the ceremony was tomorrow evening, and they wouldn’t be leaving the estate for another 3 weeks, anyway. This part seemed to be the only thing that pleased your father, maybe it was because this gave him more time to talk with The King himself.
Your mother had a very difficult pregnancy regarding your birth. Infact, the birth itself was a blur in her memory. From what the midwives had told her, the bleeding was what almost caused her death. Luckily, her having held onto the strings of consciousness for just a few moments longer was what caused her to recover just enough for the healer to arrive intime. Due to the heavy bleeding, it was highly encouraged, almost demanded of her, that she never conceive again.
This had angered your father to no end. He had at least one child, but it wasn’t a male..an “heir” to his legacy. No matter how many times you had promised him to carry on his legacy, he wouldn’t listen. His anger got so severe, he had almost forced himself onto your mother- completely disregarding her safety, all for the chance of an heir. From what little bit of morals he had left, he stopped.
This was the reason why he was quite desperate in his attempts to raise his family’s status and reputation, but in this day and age, a daughter and a title can only get you so far. He watched as his once peers outgrew him in their own rankings, no longer speaking to him and throwing away their companionships as if it had only been brought together by a scroll, waxed stamp, and word from the king.
Deep down inside, he wanted to be able to disregard people like that- and throw them away. He’d never admit it, though.
Tumblr media
The sun hadn’t even risen yet, but the whirlwind of activity never slept on a day such as this one. Your estate was over a mile away from the bustling city, and yet the cheers could be heard as loudly as the chirping birds outside the windowsill. Your mother must have heard it too, as she appeared in front of your doorway.
“I'm glad that trip wore you out enough to have you sleep in early, I'm afraid that was all the amount of soundful sleep you're going to get until the cheers die down in a few days.” She smiled at your little pout, walking over to you and gently pushing your fists away from your eyes as you rubbed them.
“Nonetheless, I bet you’ll be glad to hear that we get to enter the palace early, so it’s best you get yourself ready now, that is if you want to be princess material.”
“…Do I get to pick out my dress?”
“Of course you do.”
Tumblr media
The sun was now peeking above the horizon, almost as if it was hiding from the beautiful chaos to come. The fear collides with the sky in an ethereal array of colors, the exact same array of colors as your dress. A shimmering light yellow, something lighter and purer than golden honey, but just as divine. It’s adorned with coral-like pink colored designs, and the prettiest golden shoes to go along with it. A dress, truly, fit for a princess.
The maid finished the final touches of the curls in your hair, so defined that they bounced on your head whenever you jumped in delight, much to the maid’s displeasure.
The sun had finally crept from its hiding place, now sitting lowly in the sky. It’s still well before noon, and you were stepping outside the estate with your mother’s hand holding your own. She wore a dress similar to your own, but fully yellow. Your father stood in front of you both. He was..suspiciously quiet, to say the very least. It was one thing to be in your own head, but his eyes seemed dark, like he was thinking about one thing only.
However, he snapped out of it when he realized the carriage wasn’t coming as soon as he expected it to.
People with high reputations get invited to the castle far far earlier than commoners get the chance to even get close to it. The earlier you get in depends on your status, and clearly your father thought he’d be escorted by now, and his pride would not allow him to go back inside to wait. Even the butler was starting to get concerned, it had now been over an hour waiting outside. Your mother had tried to persuade him 30 minutes ago, but was met with a rather harsh lecture, and didn’t dare to press further. He wouldn’t allow you two to go back inside either.
Finally, after about an hour and thirty minutes, the carriage arrived at your estate. Luckily the sun still wasn’t high enough in the sky, and the air still had a slight chill to it, so you didn’t overheat too much, it was just a little bit too warm for your liking.
The carriage was beyond anything you’d ever seen. It was laced with gold and diamonds beyond comparison to anything you’d ever seen. It was lavish, and the seats were laced with cold silk, much to your delight.
Tumblr media
There were no words to describe the castle, none at all. Well, if you could explain it in one way… large. It took nearly 30 minutes to just get out of the carriage, due to the huge lineup at the side entrance. That was another thing your father hated, that he wasn’t “noble” enough to use the grand front entrance. You couldn’t even register his anger though, as you stepped out of the carriage the only thing you could think about was the sheer size and elegance at the massive structure standing proudly before you eyes. You clutched onto your mother tightly, as it felt as though you’d get lost if you so much as moved an inch from her body.
This was the moment you separated from your father, as though he had other plans, and stuck to your mother, heading towards the ladies’ hall, a portion of the castle where all the noblewoman and their ladies-in-waiting sat together for tea, from what you heard. It was strange though, why didn’t your mother have her own lady in waiting?
When inside the hall, you followed you mother to the room where the commotion was coming from, and were surprised by the sheer elegance of the woman inside. Did they go to galas all day? The ballgowns and tiaras they wore told you so, there was no way they could sit in such attire all day without dying.
You were almost intimidated by them as the silence built up and your mother walked in with you in her grasp. However, a breath of relief washed over you as some of the women smiled at you and your mother with a courtly wave, and a small portion just simply decided to ignore your existence, and go back to whatever conversation they were having moments prior.
Your mother seemed even more relieved as you did, surely feeling the anxiety building up about her own place in the room. She was older, but still had the girlish tendencies of wanting to fit in.
One of the noblewoman was very welcoming, opting to stand up from her loveseat and make her way over to your mother with a warm smile and curtsey. She even smiled down at you, which made your heart leap at the thought of being greeted by a princess.
“I see you’ve come right on time, and you’ve brought us a gift, too.” notioning at you, “she’ll fit in well with all of our children, the little girls out in the garden. It’s safe here, if she wants to play with them.”
Your mother curtseyed back, “I’m sure she’d like that, do you want to go [Y/N]?”
“Mhm!” The lady in front of your mother giggled at you, and notioned her head towards the entrance of the side garden. Your mother nodded at you, giving you permission to go, and so you skipped off.
The garden was filled with children playing and flowers of all colors blooming from every direction. Some children opted to go a little too high on the large garden swing, others chased butterflies, which is what you did. You got along well with a blond-haired blue-eyed girl, her hair tied up in pigtails and wearing a bright blue dress with gold accessories on it. She had some freckles on her face too, as she proclaimed to be “the professional of catching butterflies”. She taught you how to do it as well, and ushered you to catch the white and red colored butterfly, what an interesting color.
So you followed it, as it fluttered away into the forest-like part of the garden, with trees for what felt like miles. There were no children here, except for you and the childish butterfly slipping from your grasp at every chance.
Well, you thought you were the only child, until you heard crying from a distance.
A boy, about 8-9 years old, was sitting under an oak tree with tears in his eyes.
You hated it when people cried, you always ended up crying with them, but you’d try to keep your composure for the sake of this boy.
A light tap on his knee had him flinching, looking up at the person who had just dared to disturb him and his privacy. Almost regretting it, as he didn’t want to scare the intruder with the horrid scar on his face, but to his surprise, you didn’t flinch or widen your eyes at all. He was even more surprised at the person who was in front of him-
It was just a child.
“…What do you want?”
“Why are you crying?”
He didn’t answer your question.
“Is it because you're lonely?” “..No.”
“Are you nervous about the ceremony? I know it’s pretty scary, but can’t you believe how big this place is? As long as you have your parents by your side, you won't get lost! What’s your name?”
You didn’t know who he was, he was sure of that now. Giving away his last time would reveal who he was. He’d never had an outsider talk to him like a normal person before, and he wouldn’t admit it, but he enjoyed it. He enjoyed the informality, in contrast to the formality that he was forced to drown in all his life, up until now.
“..Shouto. This place is big..but I am used to it.”
“Oh! Do you come here often?? Oh- and my name is [Y/N]!! Unlike you- I am TERRIFIED! I feel like I might get lost here! Like I might get sucked up into a painting or something!”
“..You can’t get stuck in paintings.”
“Of course not silly! I’m just joking!”
“Oh.”
“Uhm.. is it because of your injury? Does it hurt?” you pointed at the scar on his eye. Clearly this wasn’t the best thing to have said, as the boy looks like he’s going to cry again.
“No.. it doesn’t hurt..well..not in that way I don’t think.” His voice is wobbly.
“Oh no! I’m so sorry Shouto. I hope it doesn’t hurt at all. When you grow up, though, I’m sure people will respect you alot with that super duper awesome scar!
“…What?”
“Well..your scar, it looks cool!”
“It..does?” He looked at you like you had grown a second head. He’d never been told that his scar looked cool before. When the incident happened a few years ago, the only thing he was ever met with was horrid looks and fear.
“Of course it does! It’s like you battled one of those big dragons and came back to tell the story! Or- or you're an amazing knight who battled an entire army!”
“A dragon..an army.” He wasn’t frowning anymore, and maybe it was just your imagination, but you swore you saw his lips turn upwards just slightly, thinking about the idea.
“Yeah! Even better if you saved a princess along the way!” That striked an idea to your head, and you began to climb up the tree he was curled under a few moments prior. Only making it to the middle of the tree, you started to faux cry.
“Heeeelp me Shouto!!" The dragon is going to eeeeatt me!!! I’ll become dinner to a hungry dragon!!!”
He looked at you, “There’s no dragon?”
“You have to pretend, silly.”
“Oh, okay.”
He tried his best to climb up the tree, and to your surprise, he did it alot better than you did. He grabbed your hip and pulled you out of the tree, placing you back on your feet.
“You saved me! You are a true heeeero, knight Shouto! The king will surely reward you for your greatness!” with that, you attempted to flash him your best princess smile, you’ve been practicing.
He giggled at you, which nearly surprised himself. It’d been years since he genuinely smiled, let alone laughed at anything.
His laughter was cut short though, with the sound of someone calling your name, in a rather panicked fashion.
“Oh… I have to go..or my mama will be soo mad at me, Shouto.”
“That’s… okay.” He frowned. “You're going to the event, right..?”
“Mhm!” You beamed up at him.
“..What’s your family's name?”
“Uhm.. my last name?”
“Yes.”
“Ohh! It’s [L/N].”
“I see. [F/N],[L/N] is it?” He thought to himself for a moment, then looked at you.
“Yep! That is mee!” You smiled once, again this time he smiled back.”
“[Y/N]!!!” The voice that was calling you got louder this time, startling you both.
With a final wave and a “Goodbye Shouto!! I’ll see you at the ball!” you ran back in the direction you came from, or, where the voice came from? You hoped you were running in the right direction.
“..Goodbye..[Y/N].”
Now he was left by himself again.
Shouto had his own fears and insecurities, all bundled up inside his broken heart and he didn’t have the strength to piece them back together alone. The people alongside him didn’t do much to help, not even his own prestigious family, the ones who were always supposed to be incharge and handle the country with diamond crowns on their heads.
He knew that the same neglectful family would come looking for him soon after they found out he wasn’t isolated in his room like they had thought he had been doing.
And he didn’t think that the one who would even try to piece his heart back together would be a girl 4 years younger than him. That she would make him happy.
Shouto Todoroki was happy with you, and you alone. Even if it was just for a moment, he remembered it well, and he would for the rest of his life.

Touya Drabble
Sometimes I can't help but wonder how things would be for Dabi if he had stayed Touya. If his father had been to Sekoto Peak. If the course of life had gone on.
Touya would still grow to resent and hate his father as both a parental figure and a hero. It would never reach the level of pure hatred he has for Endeavour as Dabi, but the feeling of being thrown aside in Shouto's favour, of being nothing more than a failed designer baby, that, would always remain. He’s always had trouble controlling his emotions, because no one ever showed him how to. How long until he would run away from that house and all it represents? Fifteen, sixteen years old? Touya would still see his siblings and his mother, sometimes, but never his father. Never again. He would make him regret losing interest in him like a worthless toy. He'd become the greatest goddamn hero in Japan just to spite his father, and crush his pathetic dreams of being number one.
As a hero, Touya would be a lone wolf, refusing to work for an agency or any group that would try to use and publicize his title as Endeavor's son. He would fully shed away the last name “Todoroki”, because being part of that family's legacy had never brought him anything other than pain. Some would call him a vigilante more than a hero, but he has never really been one to care about labels, either way. If he would go by an alias, I'd like to think it would be something like Phoenix, a symbolic rebirth from the ashes of a past he's left behind (and a perfectly melodramatic name for his theatrical ass).
Touya would still have scars; although his body would never burn to the extent of Sekoto Peak, he would get heavy marks and scars from overusing his quirk, mostly around his arms and chest. At first, he hides them when he's out, not wanting to prove his parents were right about him slowly killing himself. It would be a cold day in hell before he admitted his father was right about anything. Then, tattoos and piercings start making their way into his life, and it becomes less and less about hiding the scars, and more and more about making them a part of his body. Dark swirls of ink would become indistinguishable from charred and marred skin, and he would show them of proudly. His skin would be a reminder of his determination, his drive to keep going despite being told he was weak. Nothing could bring the fire in him down.
It would take him time to forgive the rest of his family for not standing by him when he ran away. Natsuo and Fuyumi are the easiest, because Natsuo shares part of his anger towards their father, and he grows a begrudging respect for how Fuyumi tries to hold everything (and everyone) together. It takes him until he's eighteen to start accepting maybe his mother was a victim, too. Maybe her complacency with their broken household had less to do with cowardice, and more with wanting to protect her children. He'll bring her flowers at the hospital, from time to time, but he never apologizes for the words he might have yelled at her before. Apologies were never really his thing.
It takes Touya the longest to forgive Shouto. Deep down, he's known for a long time it isn't the youngest's fault. But it's hard not to feel anger at how easily he follows their father's plans, how stoic and seemingly devoid of any real identity he is. A puppet. It's only when Shouto joins UA that Touya starts seeing the fire of passion burn in his brother's eyes. Real emotions, trapped underneath the icy surface of the perfect child who had so efficiently replaced him. A bratty teen who bottled up his feelings until he exploded, finally letting others see how he felt all those years. His brother.
In many ways, Touya wouldn't have been very different from Dabi. He would still be angry, and hurt, and desperately in need for his father to notice him, one way or the other. But in many other ways, he would have been so different. He would have been a hero on his own terms. He would have been able to grow as a teenager rather than be trusted into adulthood with no landmarks or experience. He would not forget, but he would forgive.
But Touya died a long time ago, and these are just thoughts I get at night.

The thing about Endeavor is that he could be redeemed if they had the space for it, if they wrote the story differently.
I would be more convinced of an Endeavor if he hadn't continued his toxic abusive behavior for like a decade after his 'wife' had a breakdown due to abuse and his son burnt himself alive. That's the moral event horizon. At that point you know what you are doing is causing genuine damage to the people around you. However, that does not make Endeavor change.
What makes Endeavor change? His goal, the thing he ruined the lives of his family for, becomes impossible. He never chose his family over surpassing All Might and now he can't. So being better to his family becomes his goal because what he once abandoned is now all he has left.
This story does not actually have the space to redeem a man as self-absorbed as Endeavor (and he still is deeply self-absorbed even in his 'redemption')
If they had shrunk the timeline a bit, he would be more redeemable. If Dabi was still a teen and the burning had only been a couple years ago and Shouto was a child prodigy and hence younger than the rest of the class making it so he had been doing his bullshit way less long. And, most importantly, not continued so long after his attitude resulted in the 'death' of one son. Make Endeavor show signs of regret, signs that he became less bad (but still not good) after the loss of Touya and Rei. Give a hint he cares about anything other than himself and doesn't just suddenly care about his family because he doesn't have anything else. And also, they didn't judge lack of forgiveness for a literal abuser negatively in the story or have Deku tell other people how they (should) feel about being abused. (Straight up saying that shit about Endeavor to Dabi.)
They could have had Endeavor suggest that Shouto (in this alternate younger timeline) try other things, enjoy kid stuff, connect with him through primarily non-hero stuff and show that he doesn't always prioritize hero stuff over family.
Agree with you anon. A large part of the endeavor problem is the fact that he only deigns to 'change' once he gets what he wanted, becoming number one. He was content to abuse his family for over a decade, hell, nearly TWO decades, and yet he never once realized he was wrong? I think most if not all people can redeem themselves, but Endeavor was NOT it. Could he become a better person? Absolutely. But does it ring hollow that he only starts changing once he's gotten what HE wanted and already broken and abused his family for near 20 years? Also yes.
I don't have much to add, because you managed to word it better than I could, but I agree with the fact that up to his 'redemption arc' we had NO inkling whatsoever that he ever would. Zero regret, zero sympathy with Shoto, nothing. His sudden change felt very jarring.
And oh my god, Midoriya of all people saying shit to Dabi about the guy's own father was...certainly something. 'He's my teacher!' Yeah you've known him for like a few weeks and he's your friend's abusive dad...

how did you wanted the todoroki family plot to end ?
(Incoming large rant about the Todofam plot but mostly Touya's ending and the complete and utter bullshit I think it is.)
Not like this, that's for sure.
There are some aspects that I enjoy. I still believe the todofam plot is the best in the series, and the development of these characters and topics are amazing, but I have a lot of complaints about how it was all handled-- especially in the way of Touya's character.
Touya got such an unfair ending. All the League did, but Touya's is cruel in a way that the others isn't. Sure, it's terrible Shigaraki and Toga died, but the way Touya ends up is this twisted, tragic thing that people seem to think is framed as "Good" but it's not.
Y'see, either Touya's going to die or he was gonna actually be saved. Being confined to a medical tube on life support and only able to talk with anybody for a couple minutes a day while he slowly dies is not saving him. Then the fact that it's framed as a good thing by the fandom because "At least he's not dead" and he's apologetic towards Shouto and now in even more emotional distress is also really... eh. I'll get to that in a bit.
What I don't get is if they were gonna kill off Touya; they should've killed him off during the war like the other two out of the trio. It was quick, (mostly) painless, and they both died at least receiving some empathy and understanding by their hero counterparts. Touya dying then would have been more satisfying than this. Having him die at the end of the fight would've been awful too, but it wouldn't have been much different than him slowly dying now-- by the end of the battle, He got his family's attention (such a small wish,) he got an apology from Enji and from Rei, and learned to see Shouto as a hurt child like he is (that one panel towards the end where Shouto finally stops Dabi from exploding and Touya sees him charging in but imagines him looking as he did as a child.) Touya also got the chance to express himself and express his anger then, too. If they want to kill him off, just doing it then would have made more sense and seemed less cruel and horrible than having his family and medical staff literally force him to stay alive, in some medical contraption, with most of his skin/body gone and completely destroyed, covered in metal and wires and God knows what else and only being able to have human interaction for a few minutes a day (Those few minutes now heavily implied to be being spent with his abuser.)
What has this given us that's different from the war arc? Endeavor apologizing-- We already got that. The family trying to reach out to him-- Already got that. Touya seeing Shouto in a different light-- Already got that too. There's been nothing new brought to the table besides "i'll visit every day and talk to you while you slowly die." and that's... that's not a good thing. that's not saving him. if anything this is all really, really fucking cruel, especially if we assume he dies, because all this was already accomplished and if anything now it's being shoehorned in to further drive the point home (like Enji's stuff being basically the same recycled thing he has been saying), or the situation with Shouto where it's great Touya sees Shouto for more than Enji's masterpiece (he already did by the end of the battle) and feels bad about hurting him (Touya's felt bad about hurting his Mom and siblings since he was a kid), but why make him even more remorseful and suffer even further? touya's the only one of the villains who's even shown remorse, especially out of the main trio, and his entire backstory he spends internalizing his abuse and trauma up until he snaps. Why are we making him feel even worse and be left alone to cry in regret when him being remorseful for Shouto has already been accomplished? Assuming he's actually dying, why make the last few days/weeks/months of his life be this miserable existence when he could've just died back at the war with the other villains?
Assuming he's not going to die, and somehow recovers enough to actually get a bit of time where he's not bound to that medical tube thing, why do it like this either? He's already destroyed himself horribly, and yes he did before and survived but people forget the reason he likely survived the fire when he was a kid was because AFO and Ujiko experimented on him, put him in a medically included coma for three years and did God knows what to him, and even then his body was never the same. He's in horrible condition, so if they were gonna actually save him and let him recover, why not save him before he literally burned himself to bones and tendons? Even by the end of the Shouto vs Dabi fight he was in rough shape and had burned large parts of his skin on his face and body off, but he could've still recovered. By the time he's halfway through fighting Endeavor he's really done a lot of damage to himself because he's so upset, but that could have been prevented if they (narratively) wanted him to live and recover. He could have been saved somewhere between there and not been left in such horrible condition and basically being told he's gonna die anyway, just slower now, and more painful, and in a super dehumanizing way.
it all feels like the narrative is cruelly punishing him worse for some reason, in these awful ironic ways: You want to die? Well, we're gonna force you to live as long as possible. Don't worry, you'll die sometime but you're gonna suffer first. You don't get the easy way out. You want your family's attention? Alright, but it's only gonna be for a few minutes a day because your heart isn't gonna be able to handle it. You want to emotionally heal and connect with your family? Well, that's too bad because you're dying so you won't have the time to ever actually heal, but you can feel bad about it, and be gawked at like a "tourist attraction."
It feels unbelieveably cruel if you stop looking at it with super high (ngl unrealistic) expectations. People claiming this is fine because he's still alive and "Who cares if the doctors say he's gonna die, they're probably wrong." If we take this all literally, Touya is barely alive and unable to actually live, and he's slowly dying and likely doesn't have long. Maybe it's enough time to reconnect with the family some, but he'll never actually know them or be a part of their family unless he somehow makes a full recovery, which they're saying isn't possible. He doesn't have enough time to emotionally heal from all the trauma he's been through, he has years and years of trauma from so many different situations, he doesn't have the time to work through it especially when the conditions they're keeping him in are kinda inhumane. Assuming he's going to die, he's probably not going to physically recover either- so the rest of his short life is going to be either feeling nothing because his body is so badly damaged, or he's in extreme agony because his body underwent extreme trauma and is basically in a constant state of shock. If he's going to die anyway, keeping him alive in this state is unlikely going to actually do anything for him.
And again, I'd love to be hopeful and assume he's gonna somehow live and prove them wrong again-- but it's implied the only reason he lived as long as he did before was spite, hatred, and his inability to let go. All of that spite and hatred is burning out of him now. Even if he does survive somehow, sure it gives him more time to actually recover and heal, assuming they won't just throw him in Tartarus (they probably will), then it just makes the whole condition he's in now seem unnecessarily cruel and unneeded. I really don't think he's actually going to survive and make a full recovery though. I think if that was the case that would have been stated instead of "He's slowly heading towards death." it'll likely be left open ended and we won't know when or if Touya dies, and that's almost worse by the way.
So, to sum up: If he was gonna die anyway, I'd rather he'd die in the war like Shigaraki and Toga did. Killing him off in this slow, painful, miserable way is a million times crueller. If he's going to live/planned to live, I'd rather he's not framed as the route of all the family problems and have all his trauma minimized. I'd prefer there was some kind of set up if he is going to live to imply he'd actually recover and have his victimhood acknowledged, his trauma worked through, and maybe be able to have some connection with his family even if it's from behind bars. ANY implication of this would've been nice, and no, imo "Whats your favorite food?" "Soba" "Oh me too" is NOT comfirmation of this. Tell us he's not slowly dying, tell us how crazy it is that he survived all that and that he seems to be somehow pulling through, tell us that there's a discharge plan like Tartarus or some kind of psych hospital for villains. If they're planning for him to live, give us some sort of actual set up because atm his ending is NOT hopeful, it's framed like this sick, unfair punishment by giving him everything he asked for in the wrong ways THEN killing him off.

Katsuki was fuckin' worried sick when Shouto hadn't returned any of his calls or texts. He hadn't even been left on read. He'd returned back to Endeavor's Agency after his patrol shift, but Shouto was nowhere to be found.
Then, he received a text from an anonymous number. He impulsively went to delete it but paused when he saw that a photo attachment was sent along with the text. He felt his guts twist into knots as he went to open the message.
Tumblr media
Nothing could prepare him for what he saw. The photo showed Shouto slumped over and tied to a chair. There were Quirk suppressant cuffs over his boyfriend's wrists. Along with this was a message that read: "If you want him to live, come alone with 500,000,000 Yen." Alongside this was coordinates to their location.
Katsuki's face paled white as a ghost, and his eyes went wide.
Though, as panicked as he suddenly felt, nothing could overpower the unbridled rage that quickly rose within his chest.
"Who do these fuckers think they are?!" he growled.
His legs were already moving for the front doors. "Burnin'!" he yelled over to the side-kick. "Tell Endeavor his son got kidnapped! I'm gonna go kill these dumbass fucks!"
"Hahh?!" The side-kick gawked at him. "If that's true, you can't just barge in there by yourself! It's too dangerous!"
"Don't care who you send to cover me, but I'm not waiting around here for his permission to go after Shouto!" Katsuki snapped back with a scowl. He hurriedly sent Burnin' and Endeavor a copy of the coordinates. "I just sent over the location of these assholes!"
Tumblr media
A sudden feral grin spread across his face as he continued rushing for the door. "I'M GONNA MAKE THESE FUCKERS REGRET EVER KNOWING MY NAME!"

Dunno if youve answered this already but did you think something of dabi saying sorry to shouto at the end even if no one heard it?
Hi!
I have mixed feelings about that page. I think it was the seed of a better Todofam epilogue, and I wish it was expanded on more, instead of it being tacked on at the end like an afterthought.
What I find good about it is that it's a peek at Touya's emotions. It's the only part of that godawful chapter where we are finally shown how he really feels about his family, past the usual aggression and scorn he uses as a shield. Dabi opening up about his feelings enough to cry again real tears, not blood ones, for the first time in ten years, was a big moment. Because for the first time he's letting himself feel things again, and he's letting himself see Shouto as his own person and not just an abstract recipient of his rage, enough so to genuinely regret the things he told him. This was huge for him! Exploring this side of him was supposed to be the point of letting him survive the war and making him reconcile with the family. That was what foreshadowed with Shouto's resolve to eat noodles with him, anyhow. It's clear to me that Horikoshi originally intended for the brothers to eventually reach a place of mutual understanding, and sharing a meal was supposed to show that growth because meal sharing with his friends is how Shouto formed his first bonds and healed from trauma, and getting included in a family activity, being seeked out as an integral part of it, is how Touya could've healed from his own trauma as well.
So yeah, the tear and the apology were good! They were the start of a process, you know?
What sucks about the execution tho is two things imo:
1. Shouto isn't around to hear it
The point of an apology is to have the recipient hear it. You can't apologize in your head and achieve the same result as having confronted your victim. Not only did Shouto deserve that apology, but it was important for Touya's arc as well. Shouto leaving before Touya could say it to his face achieves nothing, narratively, except making the whole scene feel pointless. It shows his regret, sure, but it doesn't work as the first step towards reconciliation because it takes away communication and reciprocity. All it does is frame Shouto as the bigger person for getting to demonstrate his willingness to bridge the gap with Touya through his actions, while stripping Touya of the chance to properly do the same (in the only capacity he physically can atp, through talking). It's plain callous, it's what I mean. There was no need to make it tragic. Let Touya express his grief and his remorse without using it as yet another way to punish him. Let his family be around to see the change. Let them acknowledge that he feels sorry. Don't make them all leave before he can get a chance to, especially not after dedicating a whole chapter to them sticking around even as Enji went on and on about a self-absorbed apology of his own. Do you see the double standard there?
2. It's rushed and ineffective, and it's never followed up on.
I mentioned this in previous replies, but this chapter should've had much more of a focus on emotions than it did. But Horikoshi chose to write it as antiseptically as possible, sanitizing any ugliness or complexity the fam should've felt and flattening everything into a resolution that feels wildly out of character for all the characters involved.
Touya showed genuine remorse, and he apologized to Shouto, even if Shouto didn't hear it. What does this mean for their relationship? Do they make up afterwards? Does Touya get to say it again, with Shouto present? How does Shouto feel about it?
None of these questions was answered, and there were zero mentions of Touya after the timeskip. This made that scene feel tacked on and inconsequential, at least to me. When Enji started showing remorse, we got over 10 volumes exploring what that meant to him, but all Touya gets is two pages, without even the grace of Shouto hearing it. To me that feels like that scene was only there as an afterthought, only present so that fans wouldn't complain, but it had no overall impact on the narrative. And that soured it for me. Because there was so much potential. But Horikoshi didn't want to believe in it, and scribbled over it right after drawing it

what if you give us like insite on your oc and katsuki's relationship? (this is totally not because I wanna have our ocs meet over a cup of coffee and talk about their versions of the feral blondie) I think your oc is very silly. Also, is there any other ocs you have that exist in the mha universe or other animes?
much love - Kovu
hey moot !! so this is SOOOOO long overdue i have a lot of long overdue stuff in my inbox super sorries :((( but id LUVVVV to tell you more about my oc and katsuki while im at ittt :DD tysm for asking !!! thank you btw ! i think your ocs are very silly too !
katsuki n ryoko's relationship !!
katsuki n ryoko met in childhood when they both were just kids (OF COURSSEE) keep in mind this is very cheesy but i am nothing if not a sappy cheesy lovesick moron ! so no regrets for me >:3
ryoko came to school like in the middle of the year, and the moment she got introduced it was love at first sight lol😭 YESS YESS BOOO TOMATOES TOMATOES I DONT CAAARRREEE !! i love love love wins over all 😌💗 so basically he wants to talk to her immediately, but also even back then he was emotionally constipated and had no idea how to introduce himself normally. ryoko never met any other kids her age formally before then, so she was always sitting alone and reading and katsuki would randomly come up, comment on the book shees reading, get embarrassed, and then leave 😭
"...whatcha reading ?" ryoko gets nervous to talk to new people, so she shows him the book title. and after he looks at it for a good ten seconds he mumbles out a "that one sucks" and runs away, leaving her a little shocked😭
she got kinda used to him doing this every day, and slowly but surely he starts staying a bit longer and the longer they talk the more boasty baby katsuki shows up and then he's back to his loud behaviour. he gets her to introduce herself to his friendgroup, w izuku in it. (hes a wee bit jealous that she actually ends up liking izuku a lot)
katsuki is the first person that came to talk to her, so he's very close to her heart, and he's her favourite !! fun fact ! the rpp series is pretty much based on their relationship !! anyways they start dating somewhere towards the end of their second year in middle school, cus katsuki acts more subtle in his bullying of izuku when shes around cus he knows she will get mad and not talk to him,, and two izuku is her best friend too (much to his chagrin cus HES her numba one bff tf😑) and they've been together ever since !!
2. do i have any other oc's in the verse !
i do !! and they (mostly) all have s/o's bc i am a very hopeless romantic 😭 !!
first i have himari 'mari' hamasaki ! shes dating shouto, and no worries their relationship has a bit more depth than katsuryo 😭😭 !! but theyre cuties and i love them ! her mom was a pro hero called voltri who passed away when she was 7 and her father is a famous hero gear inventor ! their relationship isn't the best unfortunately.. mari has a mecha related quirk !!
next up !! kyosuke nishiyama !! he's himaris older cousin ! and by older i mean by like..two days lol, but he loves holding that over her head cus hes a little shit like that😭 they love to act like they hate each other, but theyre very close, so they just call themselves (and his other siblings) brother and sister, and not to mention they look a lot alike, so ppl don't rlly question it much ! he has a chain related quirk like kurapika ! his dad is a business man/ househusband and his mom is also an inventor :3 ah, and he has a boyfriend (who is my friends oc !!)
keisuke and kensuke nishiyama are kyosukes older brothers !! kensuke is 22 and in college to be an inventor, and keisuke is 19 studying criminal psychology :D ! keisuke has a girlfriend also not girlfriend called furaha i say gng bc he's built awkward asf and had no idea she was in love with him and he with her, but they'd make out and kiss n act like a couple contstantly until he realized he liked her 😭 !! furaha is a congolese exchange student from canada !! lil funfacts for them kensuke is a stoner (lol) keisuke is a speedrunner, and furaha can do her own hair !! (im jealous)
amara 'gogo' kanyinda and omari 'king' kanyinda are both siblings ! omari is the leader of an underground crime syndicate and amara is an assassin in that syndicate ! (much to omaris displeasure) omari n amara were both in an abusive household and since omari is older, he escaped first and told amara he'd come back to get her when he got his shit together, and he did !!! they act like they hate each other too, but omari would rlly do anything for his sister and he's a major softie ! they're both congolese ! omari's nickname king comes from the fact he's the boss of the syndicate and because of his attitude, because his personality is kinda shitty LOOL😭😭 also he has a dog named guts !! (yes hes a manga nerd)
i don't have a quirk for him yet unfortunately 🤧 tho im thinkin of a super strength one ! amara's quirk is called ball n' chain ! she has the ability to control and manipulate a ball and chain made of energy, it extends from a central point, typically the hands but she prefers to use her legs ! she can manipulate it telepathically, can control the length and thickness of it and can imbue the chain with energy so she can cut through objects or give an extra impact ! gogo is the nickname she got from her friends bc her quirk is similar to gogo yubari's ball n chain from kill bill ! and she liked it sm she ran with it :3 amara has a boyfriend (who is my friends oc) !! they're very in love and i love them more than my entire life.
these are all my main ocs i talk about the most !! i tried not to ramble tooo much !! 😭😭 my bad if i did
much luvv xxx tysm for reading if you did !!

Okay so: Izuku as Inquisitor.
We keep everything from the last post. Izuku is actually the child of Solas and fake Mythal, the gods are actually not the Evanuris who pretend to be, Solas worshiped as Fen’Harel is a god now as unlike the fakes he is the only one. Izuku and his friends leave their world because society has just kept going and nothing changed.
But this time they get to Thedas before the explosion, and Izuku makes it his mission to bug his father about not going through with it. He ignores it, and argues back. It ends up coming to be Izuku runs to try and stop the Temple from blowing up but can't.
No instead he's now the Herald of Andraste and like… Izuku has ALREADY pulled together a country and fought in a war. Sure he came to Thedas knowing he might need to kill his birth father, but for the LOVE of THE GODS, are you joking?
His friends laugh at him and he is Problem Child Forever.
Now he's got to run this stupid organization.
He hates it so much.
Izuku does his best though. He tries to be a fair person while also shoving his father’s face into the changes of the world.
I do think he'd be slower to confess the truth of him being from another world here. He would eventually do so because he has to. (he would not continue to lie to those who have bled for him).
Solas instantly runs with the narrative he was trying to find his son since he went missing, and Izuku just is angry he's not doing anything but he won't rat out his dad. Not unless he has to.
I think there would be a lot of confusion and a lot of eye opening but everyone accepts it. They even accept Nezu who is thrilled he gets to walk around like normal without the cloak. They figure out someway to make it acceptable to others (AKA Cole messes with their minds to make them accept it).
Izuku would just be the kindest Herald/Inquisitor to those in need while also RIPPING apart Orlais and Ferelden and everything he can.
“This is BULLSHIT,” he says at the Winter Ball before he goes off and blackmails Celene and Gaspard while handing over everything he has to Briala so she can rule through them.
“I fucking HATE this,” he grumbles when he's dealing with Nobles. Ugh.
(Aizawa hates dealing with Fereldens and their dogs)
I'm also gonna talk about the others to:
Yaomomo is a fucking Goddess who helps Josie. I also am saying she ends up with Dagna and when Sera joins in (encouraged by Ochako) chaos reigns. When the secrets are out, Dagna and Harrit basically beg for all the help. Sadly she can't make the more fantastical elements but steel? Wood? She can. Silks to.
(she takes over the entire winter ball cause those are ugly as hell uniforms)
Aizawa works as an advisor and helps spread rumours when he can. He'll slip out and lurk in corners being a ‘drunk’ while picking up info. Also he's trans and upon learning Krem is goes: same.
They then proceed to spread rumours Solas and Aizawa are Eri’s parents for the hilarity.
But yeah Aizawa is his grumpy self.
Midnight I am 100% pairing with Blackwall and she susses out the truth early. Convinces him to confess but work to rebuild. He regrets what he's done it's obvious. And frankly, look at the Templars and their abuses. Yes what he did is horrific but he does better training people to fight back and defending the weak. She and Blackwall now run a minor training boot camp for the ambush fighters.
Nezu is Nezu and happily plots with Leliana who delights in her new friend. Perhaps he is the one to help her back into the light to.
Hitoshi works with Josie as an assistant and she finds he is just as good as her at reading people. I already mentioned how she gets him losing her voice differently then the others. Hitoshi isn't just his Quirk and his ability to speak and manipulate are things she gets. It's very adorable.
Tenya and Shouto work as inner circle folks and help Izuku. They also run around as his messengers and as intimidation because Izuku is still damn short and knows it's cause he's an elf.
Ochako? Ochako is inner circle and causing CHAOS as much as she can. Her quirk is so good with bombs and weapons and getting into position on a roof. She is the ‘DEATH FROM ABOVE’ Queen. Sera loves her so much.
Eri of course is being cute but she's also being portrayed as Izuku’s sister which gets attention. Luckily she has Cole around who will stab. She also works with the doctors and when her secret comes out uses her powers. Carefully, oh so carefully with Cole right by her side. Just in case.
I think romances would stay the same. Bull/Aizawa, Tenya/Shouto, Izuku/Dorian, Ochako/Sera and all that to. It's just like… as Inquisitor Izuku is more involved and more willing to dig down roots. He doesn't get a choice. It's not just murder your dad and fuck off. No it's serious. He has to build firm bonds with these people.
Here he sits down and listens to Vivienne more, tries to understand Cassandra’s faith. He sits with Cullen and they work through the bullshit he has internalized (I run with an AU Cullen in my head because otherwise I could not get through the game and my head version actually admits his faults). He talks with Sera and learns of Pride Cookies. He sits with Bull who fears madness (but will never regret saving his men). He holds Blackwall’s hands and say he is a good man. He stands by Dorian, facing down a monster who hid behind kindness. He helps Cole learn who he is. He sits with Varric as he tells stories and tells his own, eventually being hugged by a man who thought he'd lose his friend. (Izuku wouldn't let it happen. No, not when Iida can run faster then anyone else, can cause a distraction so that they all get free. No never. Hawke and Alistair live, both of them)
Izuku is himself and shines so brightly. And the others want to shine to. Vivienne still believes in the circles but now thinks of a school system like the ones from their world. Cassandra believes but also knows that the ashes of corruption can linger so it is best to be careful. Cullen begins making amends more and more (a letter sent to a mage who makes her partner read it, the Antivan elf carefully speaking the apology from within, the mages harmed in Kirkwall, Templars so scared of him dropping to their knees in shock). Sera who learns to bake. Bull who figures out he is not a monster. Dorian, who does not speak well of slavery but speaks against it, plotting to tear down Tevinter with his bare hands. Cole who stays both human and spirit and is all the better. Varric who laughs and smiles like he once had.
And what of Izuku’s friends?
Tenya and Shouto who lost everything (Tensei choking on his own blood after refusing to give up valuable intel. Fuyumi blowing herself up with Dabi to beat him. Natsuo dying trying to protect Rei who died to. Endeavour still around with NOTHING changing) being happy again. Laughing and getting married with everyone they love there.
Ochako who lost an arm and refused to back down, who lost Tsu and mourns her so badly. Who nearly was killed because her naivety over Toga’s manipulation almost cost her life.
Hitoshi who lost his voice and only got pity, no help. Now he's regained it in a way, working with his wife who loves him dearly to be able to be the diplomat he was born to be. (and who makes it stylish to learn sign language)
Momo who is burned and hurt. Whose girlfriend left because they could not keep up, she's to much. Who was taught to keep her head down. She's creating things again. Laughing and smiling. Is kissing someone oh so sweet who has the same mind.
Midnight who lost her sex appeal and caused people to toss her aside. Acting like she's not human anymore. She's now happy with a man who ADORES her and all she is. She's smiling again.
Nezu who has tried over and over again to change the world. He now has in his paws the chance to help and make a difference. Who joins the Chantry when Leliana is Divine and helps shake things up. He's happy.
Aizawa who lost his husband and mourned so deeply. Who felt useless and broken. He has a purpose. He's working to help others, has a man who helps with aches and pains, who loves and accepts him.
Eri who was a lab rat and who had to learn to smile. Her smiles are bigger and wider here, her laugh echoing in her joy.
Izuku did this. He brought about change and happiness. He feels good.
He still hates Orlais.

God Soulmate AUs are top tier. Anything Deku centric really gets me, prime angst material with all the quirkless/inadequacy feelings. And especially paired with Shinso, Todoroki or Monoma. All the different Soulmate AUs are so fun as well, I mean the pain sharing always works great with Tododeku. But imagine a shared quirks one with Monoma and Izuku, and izuku just presents the quirk Monoma is copying at the time? Honestly I could just scream about soulmate AUs forever, there's so many interesting things you can do with it.
Asjsjjddh both of these are great like
For the pain sharing Tododeku Shouto has never been a stranger to pain, both his and his soulmate’s. One of his biggest regrets is that their bond had already started to form when his face was burned so they definitely felt it as well, and he can’t really imagine a pain worse than that even when he feels the echoes of burns and concussive force that makes his skin and joints ache. The worst pain he can imagine, that is, until he stumbles out into the living room scaring the shit out of both of his siblings clawing at his throat and wheezing through the fire in his chest as lungs that aren’t his struggle to breathe around something that will not give even an inch of space for them to do so. Both Natsuo and Fuyumi hold him as he lets out raspy little screams and chokes as his body tells him he’s not getting air but it’s not him that’s struggling, and they’re both barely more than kids themselves, just barely in their twenties and watching their brother frown on dry land while he begs someone to help, help his soul mate who is also no stranger to pain and has to feel so fucking alone because there’s nothing he can do. Then it stops. Then Shouto rolls over to gag and sob as he can finally breathe through the pain and both of them decide to hell with their father and whatever he will say as they take Shouto to the nearest police station and insist that there was another victim than the one in the news because Shouto was in pain a whole hour plus before Bakugou was attacked meanwhile Shouto is staring at the live feed with wide eyes as Izuku throws themself at the slime villain for a boy that has an explosion quirk and he can feel the ache and tug of his own nails as they claw against the slime and he knows.
But shared quirks monodeku omg like at first no one realizes that Izuku doesn’t have a quirk because they are clearly showing everything from a minor electric quirk to a firework quirk to whatever else and it’s not until a physical after they tripped and broke their foot where they finally see the pinky toe joint and realize that they are just stealing their soulmate’s quirk and then the the bullying begins in truth. And Izuku isn’t upset at that as much as they hate the idea that their soulmate has to feel so fucking alone because they have nothing to give them when they share all these amazing skills. Then the Entrance Exams happen years later and at the and there are two prospective students left shattered and so fucking scared because it shouldn’t be that strong should it? And neither of them notice it until the Sports Festival when Monoma copy’s Bakugou’s explosions during the cavalry battle and Izuku uses it to blast him away. Monoma would be stunned because he had been so scared that he would never know who had his quirk or what his soulmates quirk even was because of how many he copied but then the battle ends and the two of them meet in the middle of the field surrounded in green lightning and laughing because despite everything they found each other. Shouta and Kan are punching the air rn because of course their respective problem children would be fucking soulmates

Into the Green Gateway
Into the Green Gateway

Summary: Among the 2,107,962 that were naturally born with a warp quirk, Izuku was considered the most powerful. A freak mutation that does not trace back to his ancestors, and a power lusted by the thief of quirks.
With a past that's covered in bloodshed, and a future that cannot be determined by Foresight, Izuku continues to strive to be stronger in the name of the ones he lost.
Or: an excuse to make Izuku kinda OP and giving him lots of trauma along the way.

On a spring day in April, Deku follows a simple sequence of actions.
Deku leaves school, gritting his teeth with tears in his eyes.
Deku claws Katsuki out of fire and grit and grease and slime.
Deku walks away, Katsuki screaming at his back. I don’t need your help! You’re Useless! This means Nothing to me!
And Then...
On a spring morning in April, Katsuki arrives at Aldera Junior High early to perform classroom duties, and stops in front of the bloodied corpse of Midoriya Izuku. - Unable to deal with the unbearable guilt of causing his childhood friend's death, Bakugou Katsuki finds a way to see him again.
Meanwhile, Aizawa Shouta deals with an unbearably high mortality rate with his students, even if he takes the right steps to try to stop them.
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead by iizukuus
“IcyHot?” “I need—need help, I can’t, can’t—” Shouto breathes, tears staining his cheeks as he stumbles over to Bakugou, his muscles are weak, heavy—they aren’t working. His legs give out and— ”Easy, easy,” Bakugou stumbles back and keeps Shouto up with his steady arms, holds on to his waist tight. “I don't know what to do,” he hiccups, pressing his face into Bakugou’s shoulder as he sobs and tugs at his shirt, “what’s happening to me?”
Shouto gets hit with a quirk that prevents him from sleeping and reality as he knows it, crumbles before him.

love's worth running to by ghostybreads
“Shizun,” he purred, darkly calm despite the anger oozing out of his mock-respectful smile. Luo Binghe's grip on Xiu Ya's blade tightened, and he realised with belated horror that his blood was running down the sword and dripping by Shen Qingqiu's feet. His sword had to be held at an upwards angle now, to reach the place where he pierced him back then.
Shen Qingqiu felt sick. There was something wrong in this dream.
“I ask you again. Do you regret it, Shizun?”
//
Shen Qingqiu can't answer whether he regrets betraying him. Luo Binghe wants his Shizun to understand how he suffered, and drags Shen Qingqiu into his dreamscape of the Endless Abyss that night.
The only problem: Shen Qingqiu isn't waking up.
What Dreams May Come by The Feels Whale (miscellea)
(explicit)
In the time between sacrificing himself to stop his estranged disciple’s qi deviation and waking up in his back-up body, Shen Yuan -formerly Shen Qingqiu- experiences a long series of dreams that make him confront quite a few things about himself that he’d been stubbornly ignoring.
Good thing they’re just dreams, right? Otherwise he’d never be able to look Luo Binghe in the eye ever again.
-
Binghe froze under his hands as Shen Yuan brought him into the most gentle hug he could manage. “Still crying?” He asked, only just keeping the unsteadiness out of his voice. He was naked and this was a sex dream and Binghe was crying all over his dick.
He didn’t need his kinks spelled out for him quite this explicitly, thanks.

Caught in the coffin, Xie Lian's desperation reaches a level that splinters his cursed shackles a little.
