“Okay, Y/n. Just chill.” You said to yourself in the bathroom mirror. You’d just arrived at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to cover your very first professional basketball game and ask questions at the post-game interview. The game you were covering would be the Indiana Fever against the New York Liberty team. You were trying to hype yourself up for the game, but you were extremely nervous. The Fever had been getting serious media attention ever since Caitlin Clark had recently been drafted to the team, so you knew many people would be tuning in.

You stare at yourself and repeat the mantra you’ve been telling yourself since this morning. “You are brave. You are smart. You are super cool and you are totally ready for this!”

“Ready for what?” You jump in shock and turn around to see Caitlin Clark right behind you. The Caitlin Clark. You stare at her for a second not quite processing how Caitlin Clark is currently standing behind right behind you and asking YOU the INTERVIEWER a question. “Sorry um what did you say?”

Caitlin shrugs, turning on the bathroom faucet and rinsing her hands in the sink. “What’s got you so nervous?” She looked you up and down and smiled, “hey, that’s the reporter lanyard. Are you one of the interviewers?” You nodded shyly and giggled.

“Can you tell it��s my first day?” Caitlin laughed at you and shone her head. “Nope, definitely not. You look totally professional.” You couldn’t tell if she was being sarcastic or serious but you hoped it was the latter.

Caitlin’s words were kind, but you knew they were just that. She didn’t know you, she didn’t know your performance capabilities. There was no real way for her to tell you you’d be any good. You looked at ground and rocked back and forth on your feet slightly. Caitlin noticed this and frowned. Perhaps she could do something to cheer you up? She knew what it was like to be nervous at a new job, as her first WNBA game had just been a week prior.

“Do you wanna maybe, I don’t know, practice interviewing me?” You looked up at her quizzically. “You know,” she continued, “so you aren’t as nervous when it comes to the real thing!” Your cheeks flushed. Not only was she a great player, she also had a great personality.

“We could try that!” Caitlin nodded and signaled for you to start. “Wait. I can’t I don’t have a microphone.” Caitlin rolled her eyes at you and passed her half drank water bottle to you. “Perfect. Okay. Caitlin Clark. What do you think made you want to go pro in basketball? You’ve been amazing ever since you were younger, but what made you want to do this as a career?”

You held the water bottle ‘mic’ in front of Caitlin as she prepared an answer. She took a beat to think about her answer and smiled to herself. “I mean I think I just want kids to have someone to look up to, y’know? I just want them to know that, like, if they have dreams they should pursue them because it might end up paying off.” You nodded your head in response.

“That’s amazing. It’s good to know that besides having a remarkable talent you have such a good heart as well!” Now it was Caitlin’s turn to blush. Her cheeks turned rosy and she lowered her eyes to her shoes.

Caitlin cleared her throat. “Well, y’know, maybe since you asked me a question I can ask you one too.” You looked back at her quizzically.

“Aren’t I the reporter? What question could you possibly have for me?”

Caitlin stood up and walked closer to you, her eyes staring at you seriously. “Can I get your number?” You paused. Was the Caitlin Clark asking you out?

“How do you know I swing that way, Clark?”

“I guess that’s my second question for you. Do you swing my way?” You rolled your eyes at her and made a grabbing gesture with your hand and pointed at her phone in her pocket. She took it out and went to add a new contact and passed it to you. You typed your number in and before you knew it Caitlin had to leave to go warm up. You wished her luck and off she went.

The game was close, but the Fever ended up losing. You could tell by Caitlin’s face she looked disappointed. Her frown seemed to fade away when you walked up to the Fever team to do a post game interview. You went along the line of women, asking each one significant questions correlating to their stats and achievements in the game, and what they thought would come next. You sighed a breath of relief when it was finally over. The interviews went seamlessly, but that didn’t mean you weren’t going to still find something to worry about. You walked out to your car and started your car up to drive home, alone with yourself and your thoughts. That was until you got a ping on your phone.

i met with a good friend yesterday and it was really nice but something is bothering me and i wish it didnt.

so she has started to call herself a „queer feminist“. she kept talking about „queer“ this and „queer“ that and at some point talked about reading a „queer“ book. thats when i interjected and said what does queer mean? this tells me nothing. is it about a trans male experience, about a lesbian woman, this doesnt mean anything (turned out to be about a bisexual woman which is why she related which she probably wouldnt have if it was about a different type of „queer“ person). so i go on saying thats why i find the term useless. she says she finds it a useful umbrella term and i say umbrella for what? she says „what if for example a woman dates a nonbinary person?“ im like well it depends if the person is male or female since sexuality is still based on sex. what do i as a bisexual woman have in common with a straight man who thinks he‘s a woman? i dont see us as part of the same group. and while she wasnt able to explain the usefulness of the term she said she would keep using it. out of principle i guess.

and it frustrates me because she like many other women is an intelligent and reflected woman whose opinion matters to me but she seems to mindlessly parrot whats popular right now which makes me take her opinion on feminism a lot less serious. how are you a feminist but you think one can identify in and out of womanhood? who are womens rights for then? people who identify as women or people who are women? at the end of the day, if you think women can stop being women under certain conditions, i just dont know how you are helping the liberation of women.

i just cant take people seriously who earnestly use nothing terms like „queer“ and „nonbinary“ and who think me an extremist for not pretending the person we both know is a woman is a „nonbinary person“. it doesnt seem like she has thought about why its predominantly women identifying as nonbinary, and what background these people have (we live in a very liberal city and shes doing her masters in a program and at a university that is breathing queer theory). its like a virus, smart women suddenly regurgitating and internalising all this seemingly without ever considering the implications and consequences. and it creates a distance between women like my friend and i who definitely share a value system but i refuse to pretend and just accept.

she doesnt even know theres many lesbian, gay, bisexual and even trans people who dont consider themselves „queer“. „queer“ is its own community and NOT an umbrella term for same sex attracted or gender dysphoric people (who are already not a coherent group). depending who you ask, asexuals and intersex people are also included. which basically makes „queer“ another term for „different“ (which is its original meaning completely lost here because we are in germany and only use queer in this context).

and since we had debates in the past i already know where it will go when we talk about it. she considers me to be extreme anyways so we will start with her wanting to reject my opinion. it will end with her saying „i cant argue with that (my arguments) but i still disagree“ because its so scary to start questioning all that while youre in these super „queer“ environments.

Sure! And thank you for throwing me this bone because WOOF

(btw it's totally fine for people to like Woman of Tomorrow, and I can even see why! This is just my experience with it that I wish was talked about more)

Quick context: Woman of Tomorrow is about a space farmgirl named Ruthye who seeks revenge on Krem, a guy who killed her dad. Supergirl guides her on this journey so they can learn lessons about grief and revenge.

The biggest flaw of the comic is the narrative prose. Ruthye's dialogue is a rambly, over-indulgent, stylized mix of an attempt at medieval Shakespearian speak, but then in the last few issues the writer remembers she's a farmgirl so he decides she should suddenly say "ain't" more often and speak in double negatives to sound a bit more Southern. I can enjoy wordy comics! But Ruthye's dialogue and narration is blatantly excessive purple prose. So many scenes would hit harder with a less-is-more approach while still being stylized and characteristic. Sometimes the narrations pairs nicely with the art to create layered irony, but most of the time it feels like it's disregarding the comics medium altogether.

The other thing about Ruthye's narration is that it holds the story back. I get that the narration is Ruthye writing from the future, but the way it's done gives us a very passive relationship with the events of the story. We don't get to be with the characters in the action heavy moments because we're reading caption boxes of Future Ruthye rambling about poetry recounting The Battle of Capes. I'm not experiencing grief or dread with the characters, I'm being told about it. All of Ruthye's narrative rants boil down to "Supergirl is really badass, sad and kind. I promise this is deep." and "here's how my farm girl experience is relevant to this". Ruthye also speaks in glowing admiration, idealization and worship of Supergirl; it makes it really hard to get to know Kara in a humanizing way. I'm sure the purple prose hits differently for others, but I personally think the story would have more room to breathe without it.

You know how people like saying "Superman is boring because everything is too easy for him, he's too powerful" yeah that's Woman of Tomorrow. The conflict Kara faces are not challenges to her character, they're inconveniences. The resolutions to each story don't feel clever or earned. Kara just knows where to find the murdered purple aliens, Kara just happens to have a silver age-reference magical horse that can outrun the suffering-ball Krem throws at her, Kara just toughs out 10 hours in the green sun. Why be a smart storyteller when you can just give your heroine the upper hand every single time? There could've been a great bonding moment where Ruthye uses her famer-smarts to build shade for Kara, she could've crafted a salve to protect Kara's skin. But I guess having her guard Kara from dinosaurs is ok. Kara helps of course, even though she's dying because she's so cool, badass, sad, kind, etc.

Kara's internal conflict is that she was hoping that taking Ruthye on this journey would teach the farmgirl a lesson about revenge, but has Kara herself learned to move on? She's still thinking about Krypton after all. The problem with how this is presented is that it's not a flaw that we get to see evolve with the story. We see Kara act mopey, get an origin story flashback and then Kara tells us this- in hopes it'll recontextualize everything you've read before. By the time we make it to the end, the characters act like they've learned so much and I'm just standing here wishing I got to see all this growth they're talking about.

At the heart of it, I feel like Woman of Tomorrow represents the side of Super-fandom that wants to see the Kryptonians deified by the narrative. They hate seeing Kara do silly girly rom-com teenager things, she needs to be SERIOUS and EDGY and SAD and ALONE but like a god would be and not how a young woman would be that way. How else will boys take her seriously? Don't forget to remind the reader that she's STRONGER than her boy scout wholesome cousin! There's potential in a short revenge story about young girls finding hope in seeing a role-model woman survive loss, but not like this.

"You don't think I could've solved all those problems? C'mon I'm Supergirl." I sure love seeing female characters be badass girl-god legends who don't get to be humanized by being unflatteringly flawed people. Anyway the better Supergirl grief+revenge story is "Supergirl: Being Super". I don't think it's perfect because it misses the crucial difference between Kal and Kara among other things- but as a story about a teenage heroine learning how grief shapes her and those around her, it's way better.

Woman of Tomorrow's art is stellar though lmao would get a copy just as an artbook to reference.

In her Harper's Bazaar article, she writes `I don’t want to share too much of what’s private and personal to me. I try my hardest to be authentic; I’m always as truthful as I can be when I’m interviewed but, at the same time, do I want to let the world inside my home? No, I absolutely don’t.' I think she's done a good job at that striking balance so far, she feeds us very interesting nuggets of information about herself, yet nothing specific enough to know about her personal life.

I agree! Nicola seems to be very knowledgeable about love and how she wants to be loved. I would be shocked if she has never been in a long-term relationship.

I do not know if she is in a relationship or single (and to be honest I don't really care). Not having people know about her relationship status is a narrative that Nicola wants, which is very respectable. She wants to stay private about her romantic life, we probably will never know who she is dating.

She will unfortunately be linked to any friend she hangs out with. I believe Nicola understands that this will happen considering her status as a celebrity.

Knowing that Nicola doesn't live in the same country as her family, her friends are super important to her. She cherishes them and wants to be surrounded by them and it is unfortunate that she will be linked romantically with anybody she hangs out with.

Everybody should read the Harper's Bazaar article and also watch the Harper's Bazaar -Life Lessons Interview (especially the friendship, love, confidence and advice parts).

Side note for the people that are worried that Nicola is pulling back in regards to her social media (this could be true), but in the confidence section Nicola states that when she is filming she doesn't go out, she is very well behaved. (she doesn't have time for social's, she's a working girl at the moment)

Starting from the first floor - up:

Roman: A tad serious, he doesn’t have the friendliest expression most of the time, but he’s a good man, very polite, and loves and treasures his wife Lois.

Lois: Big Mom Vibes, she’s super sweet, loving and caring. She loves baking cookies for the people she cares about. She also loves to pampering Roman.

Albertsky: Also serious, but not as “friendly” as Roman. Speaks in a rather harsher tone, for which he can come off as rude sometimes. Mostly keeps to himself, but loosens up a bit during neighbors parties or so.

Robertsky: A bit entitled, looks down on people a lot, claiming that he’s smarter, or better looking, or more successful or so. Likes to buy expensive clothes or watches to show off, but all of this is because deep inside he’s very insecure. He has a crush on Nacha, and resents Francis because he is sure him and Nacha had something (he’s one of the few neighbors that actually connects Anastacha to Francis, he believes he’s her father).

Selenne and Elenois: I’ll confess I haven’t given them too much though, don’t know yet if they’ll have different personalities or the same. But I kinda imagine them being like those twin sisters that split one sentence between the two of them, or say the same thing at the same time. They’re very smart and intuitive, but they’re mostly observers. Don’t gossip a lot. They pinpointed that Izaack was gay even before he met Francis.

Arnold: Very friendly, super chill and smiley. Big Dad Vibes. Loves to listen to people and gives amazing advices. Also very encouraging. You’ll see, I have a little comic planned with him.

Gloria: More serious but very sweet, very lady-like and exceedingly smart. Likes to treat herself and her husband to some luxuries from time to time, but doesn’t over spend.

Margarette: Life of the party, MASSIVE sweetheart, friends with EVERYONE, no enemies, loves to make people smile, always sees the positive side of things, walking ray of sunshine ☀️

Nacha: She’s friendly overall, like, she gets along pretty well with the other neighbors. But she can be… how to say it… She likes things to be done her way, (for which she collides with Anastacha a bit, as she’s starting her rebel years), and she has that “I always get what I want” mentality. Gets along well with Mia as she’s Tacha’s teacher, and has sort of a mother-daughter relationship with Margarette. Margarette was the first one she told she was pregnant.

Anastacha: Mini female Francis basically 😂😂 Very serious, not very friendly, a bit of a loner, does whatever she wants, BUT she is nice towards the people who don’t think of her as a brat and are nice to her. Reason why she likes Francis so much, Francis treats her with the utmost respect, and validates her thoughts, opinions and emotions. She also really likes Margarette, Izaack, Lois, Steven and Mia (even though she doesn’t show it much because she’s her teacher)

Mclooy: Loony old man 🤣 Jk, he’s not loony, but he will always be telling you about the CRAZY amazing adventures he used to go to when he was younger, though no one ever knows if his stories are true or not. Very smiley, extremely friendly, a bit of a jokester, coughs like an old dog. He gets along really well with Margarette.

Steven: Takes after his old man in the way that he is also a bit of a jokester. He’s pump and a bit of a dude bro 🤙🏻. He loves working out and being active. Also is super friendly when in relaxed situations, but can go ABSOLUTE serious mode during rough times. He plays guitar and loves to sing. Has been friends with Afton for a really long time and secretly has romantic feelings for him. (The other neighbor that believes Tacha is Francis’ daughter).

Rafttellyn: Gossip Queen. She knows everyone’s dirty laundry because her husband Alf tells her who’s got legal problems and why. Gossips with Margarette and Lois, her BFFs. Has a special bond with Lois because in my AU (and I guess it’s also my headcanon haha) Roman is her brother. Ccccccaaaaaannnn be a bit snooty sometimes.

Alf: A Queen needs her King huh? 🤣 He’s a little more discreet than Raft, but he will whisper something about you if he knows you’ve got dirt. But in general he’s nicer and jolly.

Hmm, Mr. Mysterious, huh? He's always so calm and collected, he’s hiding something, I just know it! But that makes him interesting. I'm curious of what's on his mind all the time. He sounds like a trustworthy person. But that was a lie! Rantaro is also really chill to talk to! :D

Kaede Akamatsu:

I think Kaede is too optimistic for her own good! I mean, over-the-top optimistic. It's a bit annoying... But she can be pretty cool sometimes too, she has some serious talent with that piano! She's a really good leader, but obviously not as good as I am. When she has an idea she is very pushy and I think that's boring.

Ryoma Hoshi:

i knew i said i would take a little break, but ive been mentally declining a lot and drawing my silly guys is my way of coping. I never actually properly drew Wendy from 2301, so im filling in the blanks.

I'd like to think of her as a person who never actually... grows up. She just kinda gets taller and more sad over time. Wendy was always very vulnerable but cheerful, and House kinda groomed her into a serious and politically aware person, still unbelievably vulnerable but a viable subject nonetheless. I always had this problem with writing her relationship with another canon character, no one realistically would give a fuck about her and her opinions. Sure, maybe Arcade will pity Wendy because she's "stupid" from a neurotypical point of view, but other than that, she doesn't have any weight in any political conversation that's going on in the Mojave. So I made her really fucking stubborn. Annoyingly so. Wendy just... gets the job done. She's resourceful, efficient and very easy to manipulate. A perfect fit for a House's courier, I think. She doesn't question his orders, she does not care for consequences as long as she has House as her cover (a trait she inherited from her step-father) and she's sometimes sociopathic and numb to voices of empathy. Not in a "edgelord murder killer girl" way but more like. She doesn't see people who hurt her as humans. A coping mechanism that would probably be the end of her, sometime in the future. I mean, she did confront Benny and got really physical. There was no way she could've win a fight against a grown ass man, and Benny did beat the shit out of her, but in the end he was the one with a cracked open skull. I just like to think that her pure madness and helplessness was enough to fuel her mind and overpower something she had no chance against in the first place. SPEAKING OF CHANCE. That's why I think she would totally get along with Chance, the Khan from the comic. I don't really put a thought about how he would've survived or joined her, but they're pretty much soulmates. They have very different backgrounds, personalities, literally anything, but Chance recognises her rage. Her inability to do what's right and the constant fight against unfightable (?) circumstances she's facing every day. I'd like to think he's autistic too. As a treat.

So yeah, she's super uncertain about anything in her life, and that makes her a very useful tool in the hands of a right man. Mr. House mastefully manipulated her personality in a conventional way, taught her the secret and mysterious knowledge of "masking" and sat her down for a few years to teach her ways of the capital and created this really sad but smart and charismatic politician with no real political voice whatsoever. She's also very cute and sweet looking so yeah. He made himself a Tandi. 😭😭 Also he scanned her brains, which would totally not be a big plot point for the future.

Almost perfect, but Sharky is here too, for some reason. He's the biggest pain in the House's ass since Benny. He has a certain emotional intellect, not easy to bribe or manipulate in mental or physical way, he really fucking cares for his sister, and is very aware of the things The Big Guy does to her. See, Sharky wasn't raised by his sister, she was a child herself at that time, and his mother didn't play much role either, too busy bickering with Aletus and then later too busy drinking and fucking in Gomorrah. Sharky was raised by the Strip and the rules of Wasteland. He might not be the smartest guy alive, but emotionally he's mature beyond belief. He's very observant, empathetic and cunning person. Even tho he was mute most of his childhood because of child neglect and untreated autism, he has incredible social skills and a Yes-man in his basement he found while renovating the Tops. He has a plan. Not a good one, but a plan nonetheless.

I have so much OC material I'm ought to write a fanfic. Or a comic, idk. In my dreams, sure, but it's still refreshing to talk about my ocs and draw them, and recieving feedback and praise for my storytelling skills 😭😭😭 it means a lot. Thank you all for reading this far!!!

Harley was pacing the room, still dressed in her uniform from Super Babes.

"He knows the secret location of my hidey-hole," Harley continued to talk to herself. "He'd blab to Batman for sure. Could've just killed him, dumbass!"

She stood with her back to him.

"Nah, I'm not a criminal anymore," Harley said, softer this time. "Plus, he's kind of too cute to kill."

Nightwing tried to ignore the way those last words made his face flush and tried to pull himself from his restraints. Whatever tape Harley used, it was fucking unbreakable.

“Anyway, maybe I should help out,” Harley continued. “Sounds like Ivy could be in some serious trouble—”

The wooden bedpost groaned against Nightwing’s pulls. Harley heard it and glanced over her shoulder.

“Don’t bother yellin’ for help,” she said. “This dump is condemned. Nobody in the whole building but us, Nightwig.”

Nightwing stopped struggling and glared at her.

“Wing,” he said.

“Heh?”

“It’s Night-Wing.”

“Really?” Harley raised an eyebrow. “Heh, guess I was thinking of that goofy mullet you used to have. Yeesh, that was like a whole decade of bad hair days.”

“Sticks and stones, lady,” Nightwing quipped. “I’ve taken trash talk from bigger criminals than you.”

“Criminals?!” Harley snapped. “If you haven’t noticed, I went straight. I’m a freakin’ waitress already.”

“Oh golly, that’s right,” Nightwing said, his words dripping with sarcasm. “I stand corrected.”

Harley fumed and stomped over to her desk. She grabbed a tall stack of papers and brought them over to Nightwing.

“Check this out, smart guy,” she said. “My pile of rejection letters. Evidently, the Mayo Clinic’s got some dumb policy of not hiring former costumed supervillains.” She sifted through the stack on her arms. “Just like every other hospital in the world.”

Nightwing opened his mouth to retort but then closed it. She had a point.

“There are…other jobs…” was all he could muster.

“Oh, sure,” Harley said. “I got a ton of offers.” She fished one document from the pile and read from it. “We’ve got a very special role for you in Bad Girls After Dark.” She found another one. “And you gotta love this one. ‘A tasteful pictorial to be shot in Thailand for legal reasons.”

Nightwing listened and, he had to admit, he felt for her. Harley used to be one of the most brilliant psychiatrists in Gotham, but then threw it all away to follow some asshole who saw her as a pawn more than a person. Now, she had to serve beers to more assholes just to pay rent.

God, he actually felt sorry for Harley Freaking Quinn.

“You say I’m a criminal,” Harley said. “They saw I’m a hoo-re.” She threw the stack down, papers flying across the floor. “Well, I’m sick of other people telling me what I am.”

A cold, heavy silence filled the room. Nightwing felt something he didn’t expect to ever feel for Harley Quinn: He wanted to comfort her. Tell her it would be fine, even though she’d tell him he was full of shit.

"Whateva," Harley said. She flicked her eyes over to him and smirked. "Gotta say, you gave me a heck of a workout."

Nighting tried to fight the red threatening to fill his face.

"Got me all sweat-stinky," she said. Harley sniffed her armpit. "Phew! Definitely could use a shower."

Then, she unzipped the front of her dress and stepped out. Nightwing stomach bolted. He knew Harley wasn't shy about that stuff, but it still threw him off guard.

Nightwing always knew Harley was attractive. Most female villains in Gotham were. But Harley in particular caught his eyes. He had the thought more than once that if he met Harley in some other circumstances, if she was some civilian girl he met at a bar, he would have let her take him home for some fun.

Now, he had a schoolboy crush on the girl that knocked his head in.

Meanwhile, Harley started talking to herself again. She stripped down to a white bra and panties and sauntered to the closet.

"I think better when I don't reek," she said. "Still gotta figure out what to do about Nightwig over there."

Harley began sifting through her closet. Nightwing was did-eyed and he felt a hot bulge form in his suit. No, this was insane. Harley was a criminal. A criminal who knocked him out and tied him off. This was not the time for his body to be playing tricks on him.

"I said I'm not interested."

"I know, but listen." He sucked in and released a breath. "What if I could...incentivize you?"

"I'll admit, I don't know if I can help your..." He glanced around the crumbling room. "...situation. But Ivy is your friend, and that should be enough for us to put aside our differences just this once. And if you need a little something more to sweeten the pot..." He bit his lip. "Maybe there's something I can offer you...right now."

Harley was smart. It took only a second for her to connect the dots. Her mouth made an "O" shape and she raised an eyebrow.

"Really?" she said. Her eyes trailed down his body. "You're offering me a ride for my help?"

"If that's what it takes," Nightwing said.

Harley twisted her red lips in consideration. She dropped the dress she was holding on the back of a chair and sauntered over. She clasped a hand on top of his knee, and smoothed her hand down his thigh.

Nightwing visibly shivered. His cheeks were burning hot and his boner wasn't much better. Harley's long nail sent a tease of pain through the fabric of his suit.

Her hands spider-crawled down his inner thighs and clasped his junk. Nightwing hissed, from pain or pleasure he couldn't tell.

I think that Maru fits Yaz well

It took me a minute to decide but when I went back to read the wiki I realized that they are very similar

Both are very ambitious and want to be the best in their fields

And both love to learn and are naturally curious

Both are very focused on their jobs and in Maru’s case she’s very focused on her work in science

Maru doesn’t really have friends or relationships thanks to (Demetrius) her focusing on her work and Yaz is the same, never bringing friends home or anything because she’s focused on growing and becoming head of the police force.

I also think Maru would be very in love with traveling with the doctor and the doctor themself

Maru already likes robotics and science in general, traveling throughout time and space would be perfect for her

She would fall in love with the doctor and want to travel forever

I also think that due to her having feelings she would grow in confidence and in protectiveness

Not just because they both were raised only by their moms

I think that Penny has the Rose quality about her when it comes to romance. Like I could easily see her being the love interest for the Doctor, and being the one they get torn from in the end.

And not to be a hater but I can totally see myself getting annoyed at her the more the romance grows

Because Ten and Rose started to become annoying when the romance became sort of the focus (yes I am a nine and rose enjoyer)

Like them Penny and her doctor would get so “obsessed” for each other that they start to not see the importance and impact of what they’re doing.

Like yes traveling through space and time is a silly goofy thing but at the same time you’re messing with peoples lives. Like even if you’re saving them, you’re still messing with them and it needs to be taken seriously instead of thought of as dates and “fun”

But on the cuter side I can see her being the type of person to slowly and quietly make her way into someone’s heart and make them remember that life is worth living.

Kiri Modern AU

Alright our girl Kiri!

Everyone gets confused when she says she's Neteyam's sister because she looks nothing like him or the other Sully kids. It makes her a bit sad tbh though she tries to pretend it doesn't get to her. Meanwhile, Neteyam's proudly calling her his twin even though that's not actually possible and she's actually a few months younger than him. But it gets people to shut up a bit.

Spider is her best friend, obviously, and they hang out in any free time they have in common. He's literally her favorite person. But it takes her some time to realize the feelings she has for him hidden under those years of friendship. She only really starts to realize when she becomes friends with Tsireya and some other girls in high school who kind of force her to think about it either by one of the girls being into Spider and it making her uncomfortable (cause she jelly) or someone straight up is like so you like Spider right? And she denies it but then she can't stop thinking about it and she's like SHIT. Panic ensues. 

Probably makes her own jewelry, has like a whole set up in her room with beads and pressed flowers and stuff. Most of what she wears is handmade. 

She wears Grace's necklace (obviously) and crochets her own clothes. The only things she doesn't make herself are some sweatpants that are way too big for her that she stole from her dad or like some basic things like tshirts and tank tops that she embellished herself. 

Kiri's bedroom is a fairy girl's DREAM! She's got plants literally everywhere, hanging from her ceiling, by her windows, on shelves. Her room is bursting with greenery and it's always flourishing. The plants are her babies. She's got crystals and candles hanging everywhere, some giant mushroom plushies (courtesy of Spider), and because I think she would, her bed is a mattress on the floor covered in comfy blankets and plant-themed pillows. Girl's probably got a mini-fridge in her room so she doesn't have to venture into her chaotic household when she's studying or busy, but it's also there for Spider (she leaves food in it for him because she's always worried the McCoskers don't feed him and they don't really). 

Kiri's pretty organized except for her yarn collection which is just an overflowing basket of different weighted and colored yarns. 

She cuts her own hair and likes the kind of choppy, wild look. She thinks her mother would be proud. 

She has all of Grace's published and unpublished work on a shelf or nook dedicated to her with what few pictures of her there are (so newspaper or magazine clippings, some Jake took of her with her trying to block the camera, etc). 

Kiri and Lo'ak still bicker all the time but her and Neteyam are really close, like actual twins though he still treats her like she's his baby sister. 

She wears bucket hats she embroiders her own designs on. 

She has a friendship bracelet on her wrist that Spider made her years ago that she refuses to take off. He made an adjustable tie for her so her growing doesn't become an issue. 

She's pretty smart too but also works hard. She likes getting good grades, it makes her feel accomplished. Her favorite subject is biology but she really wants to go into botany like her mom or just ecological studies in general. 

Spider is constantly secretly in her room cause he can scale the side of the house like a monkey and come in through her window. They watch movies together or sometimes he'll make jewelry with her for fun. She likes to fool around with his hair a lot and experiments with hairstyles. It's honestly their uninterrupted cuddle time and they also have some serious emotional talks as well. She's gotten pretty good at hiding him over the years, especially when he accidentally falls asleep and Neytiri comes to wake her up in the morning. 

She's probably super into environmental activism and is president of a school club dedicated to that. She doesn't do many sports aside from archery, which is a must for all the Sully kids anyway. I think she probably plays soccer with her brothers leisurely. And hide-and-seek tag with Tuk.

The type to be friends with her teachers because she can learn a lot from them obviously. She's let into the teacher's lounge because of that to just sit and chat tbh. Another reason she's not super popular with kids her age though. 

Starts watching Tsireya's swim practice when they become friends because she's a good friend like that. Can't stand Aonung though. 

Lowkey pretends she doesn't know Lo'ak at school cause he's kind of a class clown. Likes to make fun of how he drools whenever Tsireya is nearby though. Thinks Tsireya could do better but is secretly rooting for him.

#8: After Act 3, what does their life look like? What are they talking about at the reunion party?

(This might come as a surprise but I haven’t actually played the epilogue yet 😭)

I’d like to think Tesni would go on a pilgrimage of sorts trying to reconnect with nature and her mentor’s Druidic teachings. After her personal quest, she becomes the chosen of Selûne, I think she’d try and reconnect with her Godess as well, after so many years apart. She also works with the council? Whoever’s in charge of Baldur’s Gate, after the whole mess with The Absolute, to help reconstruction efforts throughout the city.

And when that’s said and done she settles down, gets married to Astarion, and they live comfortably off of the significant amount of gold they found throughout their adventures. She researches cures for Astarion’s vampirism too (and for Karlach cuz I’m delusional and I refuse to accept that she dies or goes back to Avernus forever), I mean who better than a Druid to fix and otherwise permanent affliction lol 😌💅✨ Tesni and Astarion also have a daughter named Moon who is a sorcerer being trained in magic by Gale. 😜

// TRIGGER WARNING: I’m gonna talk a little bit about self-harm so if you struggle with self-harm I just want to warn you now before you read!! It’s not too serious but I want to make sure everyone stays comfortable!! //

Tesni has a variety of scars, a lot of them stem from her background as a Druid. Scars from animals, from when she was a kid running around in the woods, and one time she got shot in the shoulder by a magic arrow (I’m not gonna name names but we can all guess who missed mid battle 😒🦇) She also has panther spots, because I thought it would be cool, but also because her main wildshape animal is a panther.

Her other scars come from periods in her life where she felt hopeless or otherwise in bad straights. A little tidbit into her lore, when Tesni was young she had quite a few of her close family and friends pass away (in unfortunate ways). She’s always blamed herself for not being smart enough, brave enough, or strong enough to stop the circumstances leading up to their deaths (a part of why Tesni had a difficult relationship with her patron, Selûne. Tesni partly blames the gods, mainly Selûne, for not stepping in. Tesni’s mother was also a Selûnite, and when she died, Tesni’s inner conflict as well as her conflict with the Gods spiraled downwards from there).

Tesni spent a lot of her adolescence on the streets scrounging for food and money, many of those nights, she went cold or hungry. Eventually she became numb to her own comfort, and took jobs no one else would, leading into her being kidnapped by Mindflayers at the beginning of Bg3. That’s why Tesni wears sleeves on her arms, to hide her scars. Partly because she doesn’t want people to pity her, partly because she still feels their sting, and hiding them helps her move past those memories.

Eventually Tesni comes to the realization that beyond her numbness, she cares and feels deeply for the world and the people that live in it. After Act 1, she decides to start her healing journey, she becomes more honest with her companions and in turn they help her heal from her tumultuous past. Over time as Tesni heals, she mends her relationship with Selûne and eventually becomes her chosen.

A Qirri rundown for your morning. New to the channel blog? This is me infodumping about my favorite little albino rat. This is just part one since it's mostly a nutshell version of her childhood leading up to what is, effectively, the start of the personal story for her.

The most important fact to remember is: Qirri was not supposed to happen.

By that I mean, her mother Tixzi was not supposed to have anymore kids. Then, seven years after their then youngest daughter Rissia, she found herself pregnant again... and after much consideration, they decided to keep her.

Tixzi spent most of her pregnancy with Qirri extremely ill and bedridden, and Qirri was born far too early. Coming into the world with underdeveloped lungs and a weak immune system, their family doctor Dlina was very clear with Pazz and Tixzi about what their youngest child's chances were... and those chances weren't good.

But as would prove true through her life into adulthood, Qirri was a surprisingly stubborn child.

Though she got sick often and rarely got to interact with other progeny or even leave the house, she developed a rebellious streak early on, trying to sneak out at every opportunity.

She wanted to see the world that for so long had been denied her.

(An aside here because it's one of my funniest Qirri facts, even if she's hugely embarrassed by it: when she was six, her father was tapped for a potential council position. Pazz wasn't super stoked about it, but his work with the ALERT Krewe - formed when Qirri was two or three years old - had gotten him a lot of recognition. Anyway, Pazz brought his whole family: Tixzi, their oldest girls the twins Izza and Pyrria, the middle girl Rissia, and little Qirri.

While introducing the family around, Councilor Phlunt made a comment about her being "rather small" for six and tried to pat her head. As Qirri had been taught to not let strangers touch her without their permission, she did the first thing she could think of and bit Phlunt's hand, hard. The fuss that kicked up surrounding the incident prompted Pazz to reject being nominated, and after getting the family home, Qirri hid in her room for hours and cried because she thought it was her fault. Realistically now she knows it's not, and she hates Phlunt, but it was awful in the moment.)

Back on track, it was early on that her family realized Qirri was brilliant. Incredibly smart for her age, to the point that it prompted them to home school her with a progeny instructor (both to prevent exposure to other kids and to help her along her track) and then to enter her into college very early.

A prodigy in every sense, she excelled in school, despite how much time she often had to miss due to her health. Spending time in and out of Rata Sum's medical ward, she often came with piles of datapads and books so she could keep up with her coursework.

It was early in her time at college that she received her first mentorship as well: the golemancer genius Zojja herself.

Zojja was a good mentor for the stubborn, headstrong Qirri. She helped funnel her frustrations into her work, and helped her nurture the tiny spark of magic she possessed into something she could infuse into her invention- unlike everyone else in her family, Qirri's spark was for engineering, and her elementalist abilities were otherwise almost nonexistent. With Zojja's help, she learned to attune to water to increase the amount of healing her gizmos and turrets could do... something that would come in handy when starting to develop her own medical aids later.

Not long after Qirri turned fifteen, though, she had a serious episode that left her family fearful for not just her health but for her life. Tixzi petitioned to have Qirri take a year off from her schooling, despite Qirri's protests, and those wishes were granted.

Frustrated and effectively under house arrest, Qirri fumed for months... until a fortuitous letter from her favorite sister Rissia and a convenient bribe to a gate technician gave her an opportunity that would change the course of her life forever.
