Idk if youāve got any ideas or backstory for Alastorās sisters, but I love the designs for them and have kind of taken some ideas about them and ran with it, mostly about the eldest, Adeline, though:
ā¢ Adelice was definitely a protector of the whole bunch. Alastor helped protect the younger sisters and worried a lot about his older sister, but Adelice would make a target out of herself to make sure the younger kids faced as little of their fatherās bad days as possible.
ā¢ Leonore and Bertilda (the younger two) still experience a lot of the family drama, but itās a little less than what their older siblings do since they try to keep them out of the fire, so while the older two seem to mature way too quickly, the younger two stay kids for a bit longer. This, however does piss off their father, who takes every moment to ridicule them on their inability to act like their older siblings when their older siblings arenāt able to keep them out of the fire.
ā¢ Adelice also gives off Tiana from Princess and the Frog vibes. Sheās got a Dream and sheās gonna work hard every day to make it happen.
ā¢ Alastor Worriesā¢ļø and thinks sheās pushing herself too much, taking on the brunt of their fatherās anger, taking on so many jobs, and trying to get as much of an education as she can for as cheap as she can get it. So he becomes her Distraction, constantly dragging her off to parties and out drinking and listening to music. Anything to get her to chill tf out.
ā¢ Heās also a hypocrite though, considering he takes on a ton of āside jobsā by the time heās 15 before he starts working in radio to try to help out their maman. He somehow manages to get all the fun jobs though. Sheās out here working in restaurants and factories and heās playing piano at the speakeasy and working at a nearby gator farm during the summers. And even the jobs that shouldnāt be fun, he manages to turn into a blast, like apprenticing at the butchers or working the graveyard shift at the cemetery. He thinks heās so damn funny, while his bosses low-key wanna strangle him. This somehow makes him more likable as a radio host.
ā¢ Eventually, Adelice manages to find herself a nice, rich, Creole man who she and Alastor run through the wringer trying to test just how wholesome of a man he is before sheāll accept his hand in marriage. This man is confused, but he is dead set on winning her heart. He offers her the money to achieve her dream, he offers her the happy and stress-free life that New Orleans wonāt afford her, he offers a life where sheās free and not trapped by anybody, himself included, and most importantly, he offers to take her whole family away from their father and the impoverished life that keeps them with him.
ā¢ Their maman canāt fathom a life without her husband, but she can see why theyād want to leave.
ā¢ Alastor doesnāt want to lose his sisters, but he knows someone has to watch out for their maman and heās far to attached to New Orleans to leave it now.
ā¢ Before all his sisters leave, Adelice jokingly says sheās gonna name a son after him and he politely declines the offer.
ā¢ They move to Alabama or something and he never sees them again, but Adelicļæ¼e has a bunch of happy children that she loves who know all about him :)
ā¢ Bertilda also gets married, but Bertilda and her husband find themselves unable to have kids so they adopt a cute little red-headed girl and her green-eyed little brother.
ā¢ Leonore dates a lot of people before she finds the perfect gal for her and they move in together as āfriends.ā Their maman was a bit progressive in some ways and taught them not to judge, where most others would do when Adelice and Bertilda donāt make a big deal out of it when they find out about it.
ā¢ All three of them keep an eye on the news regarding New Orleans and whatever can be said about their famous radio host brother from far away.
ā¢ The only times the lot of them return to New Orleans is when they hear about Alastorās death and their mamanās death.
I've talked briefly about them in this ask :3 And I really enjoyed reading your version of their story. It seems more wholesome compared to what I have in mind for them (like Adelice definitely won in this one) XD

What if nezuko and tanjiro were raised by Obanai and Mitsuri?
Whoa, I have never considered this. Let's assume an altered timeline, so, say, itty-bitty Tanjiro hid with almost-walking Nezuko in a closet when a demon killed their parents. Mitsuri and Obanai, who like one another and have sort of figured that out by they are awkward about where to take it from there (since Mitsuri doesn't want to make the first move but can't figure out why Obanai won't), arrive on the scene, and Kaburamaru finds the hiding children.
Mitsuri is instantly attached and wants very badly to make it up to these orphaned children whom she failed. Obanai is trying to tell her why that idea is irresponsible, but Kaburamaru has already become fiercely attached to the terrified children who find comfort in the cuddly snake. It's not as if Obanai can't relate to that, so he gives in, on the caveat that they will take care of them only until they can hand them off to someone more qualified.
They're first thought is Shinobu, but she already has her hands full. They ask the Kakushi, but the Kakushi insist that this is out of their skill set. They think of asking Ubuyashiki but don't want to bother him by setting a precedent. No luck at Wisteria Houses they come across, who are already doing all they can. Wishing to find someone with experience to adopt them, Obanai makes a desperate visit to Shinjuro, who yells at him to take responsibility and get what was coming to him by so idealistically becoming a swordsman. He announces to Mitsuri (who is already very attached) that they'll see their responsibility through.
Since the Kamado children stay at the Kanroji estate most of the time, this is what gets Obanai to finally meet her family, which pressures them more into considering the state of their relationship, especially they Obanai spends time with the children out of a sense of responsibility and Mitsuri, once the decision to keep them was made, wants to spend as much free time with them as possible. Being in a coparent relationship also forces them to confront Obanai's issues.
Both toddlers take to Mitsuri readily, and they like Obanai too, but they both (especially Tanjiro, who can talk better) are sensitive to him being sad. Obanai is nice and tries to be child-appropriate but answers very plainly and honestly when Tanjiro asks why he's sad, thinking that this is out of respect for a child's intellect. Poor Tanjiro wants to help but is often confused. Obanai is a little annoyed how buddy-buddy Tanjiro and Kaburamaru are but he allows it. As Tanjiro grows up and the snake gets older, Kaburamaru spends less and less time in battle with Obanai. Tanjiro is a dutiful son whom Obanai figures pucked up a lot of traits from being raised by Mitsuri, but he reminds Tanjiro to always be grateful to his original family who loved and protected him too. This makes him supportive (albeit concerned for his safety) when Tanjiro says he wants to fight demons too. Tanjiro eventually picks up Snake Breathing, though Obanai points out that he's not totally suited for it. (If it weren't for how annoying he finds Giyuu, he would suggest Tanjiro try Water Breathing.)
Mitsuri is less supportive because she worries about Tanjiro's safety. He is her wonderful son whom she loves very much, after all. But if he's sure he can accept the risks, she allows him to try.
Nezuko has grown up babied by her unckes and aunts and does not know the responsibility of being an older sister. She always wants to be just like her mom (but Obanai sternly put a stop her dressing up like mom, which made little Nezuko cry because she didn't understand why he was angry). She wears fancy kimono and makes sweets and wears long braids and goes to school, and is a dutiful and sweet daughter as she grows up. Despite having riches, this does seem to go to her head, and she still practices humilty and thrift, which really endears her to Obanai. He originally was a bit more standoffish from Nezuko, but Nezuko feels secure in his care for her even if it's nothing like the open, loving, huggy relationship she has with her adoptive mother. When Tanjiro picks up the sword, she insists on learning too, but Tanjiro and Mitsuri don't want this. Obanai lets her give it a shot, but she's too fiery for Snake Breath, and not physically capable of Love Breath, despite how much she has always done her best to imitate mom.
So Nezuko finally does something a spoiled brat would do and she runs away to ask Uncle Kyojuro for Flame Breath training. This causes a brief argument between Hashira but it is soon settled, and Tanjiro sort of wishes he had thought of that before getting so deep into making Snake Breath work for him. Tanjiro & Kaburamaru and Nezuko eventually go through the Final Selection together and begin a sibling journey to avenge their birth parents, with their adoptive parents giving them their blessing and watching over them from afar.
And then, having seem that through, Obanai is finally ready to get married.

I'm not very fond of Epic AUs where Odysseus adopts Astyanax.
It's fine for a one-off joke or comic and ofc this is just my opinion but... if Astyanax lives (like in Racine's play), he should always stay with Andromache. His actual mother, yk. Not with one of the men who sacked Troy. Zeus' prophecy is bound to happen and Odysseus knew keeping the infant around was a bad idea.
If Astyanax dies, I want to see him in Elysium with his father, finally in a peaceful place and having all of eternity to catch up. Then Andromache joins them (sending her to Asphodel would be too cruel) and they finally reunite.
Would anyone picture Neoptolemus adopting Astyanax ? The son of Achilles, who dragged Hector's body in a chariot. No ? So Achilles' associate doing the same would be weird.
And Odysseus ? I want him CRAVING for a son, waiting for so long until he can express his paternal affection (and always cursing Palamedes even after his revenge š).
Him meeting Telemachus all grown up should be his first real shot at fatherhood. It'd be underwhelming if he already had a little boy with him. If Telemachus has a little brother, Penelope should be the mother. Or they adopt another baby together afterwards. No Astyanax and ESPECIALLY NO TELEGONUS !
So yeah, imo Astyanax and Odysseus don't belong with each other. Any thought ?
Headsup: This is just an opinion. My opinion does not matter. If you like this AU, PLEASE don't let that stop you from creating! Just because it's not for me, doesn't mean it's not for you or for someone else :D
I absolutely agree and you absolutely put into words WHY.
There's the term "woobifying" and in some cases...I think that's what people just often do with Epic/The Odyssey. (especially from Epic) I'm saying as someone who is a very soft and fluffy person. I love soft and sweet fics and ideas. I love stuff that makes me smile. But I almost feel as though with certain soft things, you're taking away what makes characters who they are. which DOESN'T make me smile lol
like I think there's more fun in simply a "no-war AU" than the "Astyanax lives AU" xD like, that way, Odysseus is with his family, gets to be a dad, Astyanax gets to live (let's not think too hard about how "no war may have meant no Astayanax")
As that way, they still get to be in character as well.
Penelope and Odysseus for example, are scallywags lol. They scheme and swindle. They giggle and kick their feet when they get extra cattle. They hold grudges. They can be snooty and prideful. They're as full of love as they are full of hate. Odysseus, during the Sack of Troy, in both the Odyssey AND Epic, will do whatever it takes to get home. Like yes, in Epic, Jay has it where Odysseus has to "become ruthless" but I can understand what he's doing with the narrative. Odyssey Odysseus? Um...Iphigenia is proof that Odysseus is already ruthless.
Btw, why is Astyanax the only one Odysseus would want to save with these AUs? What about Iphigenia? Is it because of Epic?
Yes, I DO think Odysseus (and Penelope for that matter) have a lot of parental instinct. I plan to write Odysseus carving lil wooden toys for random kids just as something to do. He does tricks. (ngl, while it seems they weren't around in the Mycenaean era, Yo-yos were a thing in ancient Greece. I just KNOW Odysseus would be the type to do so many tricks. (also string and woodš„¹)) He has a soft spot for Greater Ajax's boy. My goober was friends with Menelaus and Agamemnon even before he met Penelope (he saw two exiled guys take back their kingdom and thought "hm??? vulnerable state??? They're very rich?? hehe >:3" but then became fond of them. The reason why he went to Sparta was to help Menelaus with Helen but fell in love himself.) and he's carved lil toys for Agamemnon's kids
He's carved lil Iphigenia toys. She likes Dolphins. He still helps sabotage the letter in some myths and even hypes up the crowd.
Even if it IS just based on Epic, "The Horse and The Infant" and "Just a Man" are HUGE turning points for Odysseus. Or even just a show of character. Like yes, "Odysseus is learning ruthlessness" but he already is ruthless. He literally says "I would trade the world to see my son and wife". AND HE STILL DOES THE DEED! HE WAS RUTHLESS SINCE THE BEGINNING! The Second song in the Musical and it already tells you about Odysseus and what he is willing to do. Is he sad and haunted? Yeah. Still did it.
And I really love that as that's Odyssey Odysseus as well! Odysseus isn't an unfeeling violent villain. He's just a man.
Also...What happens in the Odyssey is no fucking place for a child. ;~; The cyclops, the Goddesses, the monsters? Why should a lil boy be anywhere near that? How did he survive while drifting to Ogygia? Does Poseidon try to keep them together? As no one would be in the state to take care of each other together for that many days.
And in general, in the Odyssey, to me, it's such a huge thing that he literally lost EVERYONE. THAT HE IS ALL ALONE. All of the people who were with him are now dead, and there was nothing he could do. It was already fated.
It's horrible but there's something so poetic in him being the "Sole Survivor", especially after all the hell he went through.
Also yeah, I DO really hate the thought of Telemachus knowing "You took care of this baby when I needed you?". Like my OdyPen have a daughter after he returns as the whole "only one son" and that's already really hard for Telemachus to watch Odysseus be a father for her, regardless of how often and how adamantly Odysseus reassures him that Odysseus desperately wished to do the same with him.

Ghosts of Our Pasts
DP x DC crossover
Damian Wayne and Danny Fenton siblings AU
Parts 1 & 2 Part 3.
Part 4
He looked more like Bruce than Damian did, which felt right for the brother that had died leaving the assassins.
Danyal's stance was not a League of Assassin's stance. It could be that he was trying not to look openly hostile, but if Dick was honest, it reminded him most of Wonder Woman. Danyal stood like he might throw himself into the air with no expectation of gravity pushing him back down. Interesting, but de-escalation first.
"Richard Grayson," Dick introduced himself with a wave, "But you can call me Dick."
Danyal's lips did the little twitch that everyone's lips did when he told them his nickname. Daynal didn't relax yet though.
"Hi, Dick, I'm Danny."
"I'm Tim, but we established that... and you know Damian..."
The silence stretched.
"Well, if that's all you guys wanted..." Danny took a few steps backwards deeper into the alley, never letting any of them out of view.
"I should have gone with you." Damian said. It was an apology; though someone who didn't know him might not realize. "...I did not understand, not until I came here..."
Danny closed his eyes, looking away for the first time, clearly internalizing something in Damian's words. With every second, he seemed to realize that no attack was coming, and none was going to come.
"Maybe we should go back to the coffee shop?" Tim suggested, good. A neutral, public place would ease at least some of the tension.
Danny grimaced, a hand coming to rub the back of his neck. "Yeah, I sorta... I need to head back there..."
"Okay, cool," Dick said, as if the tension still didn't require tools to cut.
The walk back was an awkward mess of everyone trying to stay in Dannyās eyeline despite the crowd and him pretending he wasn't nervous when he couldn't see them. Dick had already decided that if Danny ran again, he was going to make sure they let him run. Chasing would only make him trust them less, and Danny wasn't a criminal (probably).
He gave them all an unreadable look as they re-entered the coffee shop. Dick wasn't sure what to make of it until an older bald man declared, "Mr. Fenton!"
"Sorry, Mr. Lancer..." Danny said, every bit a sheepish high-schooler. He sat down at the table he'd been at before the chase as the older man began a lecture about safety in big cities and staying with the group. Well... that complicated things.
The barista called Tim's drink.
---
"Are you good, man?" Tucker asked as soon as Lancer's attention went back to focusing on the group as a whole and not just their table.
"I think so, Tuck, but, uh... this... I donāt know, I don't think the just chilling plan is gonna work..."
"Is this related to Gotham? I thought she gave you permission?"
"She didn't just give me permission, Sam, she welcomed me... I know why now... its just complicated..."
"So... is that why the Wayne's were chasing you?" It was said like a joke.
Sam's eyes widened when he answered. "Yeah,"
Tucker stuttered out a confused mix of excited syllables, "Does that mean we get to meetā"
"Their just people, Tucker." Sam reminded, "Spoiled rich kids who at least manage to cause a scene at every other gala, so they get to rank slightly higher than all the other rich kids, because at least their not boring."
"Sam!" Tuckers exclamation caught Lancer's attention. The teacher called on them to restate what he had said. Sam guessed correctly, Tucker and Danny did not, and so the lecture started over.
Danny patiently waited for the lecture to end before whispering, "You guys know how I'm adopted..."
"Yeah..."
"So..." Danny gestured to the group of siblings that appeared to be arguing over... napkins? What were they doing?
"Wait, you know the Wayne's? Why didn't you ever say something?" Tucker exclaimed.
"Uh... well, the League of Assassins stuff..."
"Uh huh,"
"Actually, thats a bad way to explain it... my biological father is Batman."
"The Batman?!" For all of her 'people are just people' talk, Sam was too excited.
"Yes, and I can't fully explain all this without getting into identity stuff."
"Danny, Danny, Danny, first of all fair, but second, how far off is Wes?"
Danny tried very hard to not react to that. Which apparently was the same as saying yes, so he shushed them before they could start.
"I don't know how he connects to the League. This is more secret than mine, okay?"
They sobered, argued that phantom was equally important, but Danny didn't budge. So they excepted it as a weird obsession thing and agreed.
"Wait so, how did you not end up a Wayne kid?"
"The assassins have access to ectoplasm and I traded some for my parents to hide me."
"I hate that that tracks."
"To be fair, I didn't understand how actually messed up it was until later."
"Wait, so is Batman apart of..."
"I don't know, I thought he was. But the fact that I'm not stabbed right now is a good sign."
"You say that like you were planning on letting yourself get stabbed..."
Danny sighed, "It would be easier to fake my death... or like, actually die for a few days, than to resist and have them realize I'd require ending."
"Great." Sam said with forced cheer. "How are we modifying the vacation plans?"

A Treatise on Pop Celesbians/bis šāØ
(by someone who only listens to music from the 15th-16th century)
I'm super happy that tiktok is making it possible for small artists to breakthrough and blow up BUT when it comes down to chappell, sabrina simply slays more and is the better artist. She genuinely loves being a pop princess, has so much fun on stage, and started serious singing lessons back at Disney ages ago. her work is more cohesive and better produced, her stylist is doing really well with establishing her silhouettes, her vocals are stronger, and she also naturally has the adorable Disney girl look that the industry eats up which propelled her career so fast
chappell is purposely drag "ugly" which is very fun and will def get her some Halloween costumes this year, her fun little songs are so catchy and cute, but the production and style and her skill level needs a lot more work. Beyonce wasn't good at first either, remember when she was just solanges off key pretty little sister? I love that she's a successful rags to superstar story and she is really bringing the community together rn, it feels good. but, she doesn't know how to be famous. It's making her extremely depressed and miserable. She sings improperly for a soprano and it's going to ruin her vocals. quickly. she HATES having a fandom. she was reeeally lucky the pandemic algorithm picked her up right before the great tiktok boom but that doesn't have longevity. also I know she's freshly out but I can't be obsessed with a new lesbian who totally disregards lesbian culture. it's just so blah to see another drag queen appended onto male culture. I just want to see Dykey Dykes who are super proud to be one of us, cultural-historically and all, not a sad hag adopted by gay boys.
Billie adores her craft and has the strongest vocal signature out of anyone on the charts by far, she's an incredible artist and is the most mature performer. She is so protective of other famous women in general even though she started out as a baby in so many precarious positions herself. I know shes going to keep making good catchy music about loving pussy. I hope she puts some effort into learning production because obviously her brother doesn't want to do her sex songs LOL
Muna Absolutely EATS at vocals, punchy beats, they have such a strong sound and the butchfemmebutch thing is so, so powerful & sexy & real. They are thee perfect band imo. but the stylist is so inconsistent with branding that I couldn't recognize them as the same band I learned about from my gay friend in 2020. they're constantly serving cunt. but only the good taste lesbians are there to eat it.
Zolita has released some absolute bangers but her vocals haven't kept up with her high production standards and the rebranding from vampire to nun to barbie to cheerleader isn't helping her establish a solid pop artist identity! she should've stayed in the indie zone, dark and whispery and gothic was her thing. But I love that she's never shyed away from aggressive out and proud lesbian aesthetics and marketing, I still have her lesbian sex stickers on my laptop!
peach prc sacrificed getting 1m+ views early on in her career to be an out lesbian. she's a good singer, but she's stuck singing about her ex boyfriend because that's what got her the #1 single. I love her adorable fairy femme4butch aesthetic even if her music isn't good
As for JoJo I don't know WHAT she's doing with the whole troll cringebait thing but it's funny and shes rich enough to take care of generations... It's very responsible that she's keeping the new annoying dyke brand away from her little girl brand at target, she's growing into a good woman which is rare to see.
King princess CAN be a good pop artist but she's too inconsistent. she has a billion dollars and doesn't need her career anyways she's just having a good time.
I still think Hayley kiyoko could've been the queen of dyke pop if she would've dropped acting and modelling but she really is such a triple threat in talent and has the right looks that there's no way she shouldn't come out really successful but she is a woc so there's a whole different standard and many darker elements at play when considering the racism to killing her career.
I don't know why st Vincent moved into doing pop for 5 seconds. but Los ageless is my jam. Annie has been disappointing for a long time!

Heathers Part 2: Warrior Heather
Read Part 1 here
Option 1: Current Heather with a More Detailed Backstory
Before we discuss major alternatives, letās go back to my question: Who was Heatherās mentor? I think it makes sense for them to be someone she met after her village was attacked, or who at least survived the attack. The combat skills and weapons/armour knowledge she exhibits in RTTE arenāt present in RoB, so they should be things this person taught her after the attack. Maybe in response to the trauma and danger she faced, she sought out a mentor who could teach her how to fend for herself and get revengeāor perhaps, this mentor found her and wanted to impart their knowledge to help her. And to explain why this mentor is no longer part of her life in RTTE, Iāve come up with 3 options.
1. Heather and her mentor mutually decided it was time to part ways once Heather was ready for her quest. This mentor was unable to join her due to some sort of illness or injury.
2. Her mentor taught her survival skills but didnāt do so in the hopes that she would enact vengeance and instead tried to dissuade her from going down that path. Their disagreement about revenge caused them to have a falling out, and Heather left the relative safety of living with/near them. The loss of the only stable/loving relationship she had since her adoptive parents died only worsened her abandonment issues.
3. Her mentor recently passed away, which prompted her to set out on her own. Again, really exacerbating that grief and anxiety.
If these changes to her backstory were made, I would be much happier with her new character direction in RTTE.
That being said, I have to say Iām still not a fan of the appearance of her design in general. I donāt like the brown and silvery blue colour combo. I would prefer something more desaturated so they donāt clash. Generally speaking, HTTYD characters designs are a great example of how to pair colours that donāt usually go together; by making their clothes earthy and desaturated, any clashing colours arenāt as glaringāplus, it makes the clothes look more lived in, which fits the vibe of the world these characters are in. The warmth and richness of the brown in Heatherās new outfit isnāt pairing well with the cold armour IMO. I want to see clothes that look well-made, but heavily worn. Sheās not used to getting new clothes on a regular basis, so sheās going to make what she does have last.
I also think instead of forming what looks like a very hazardous skirt, the scales sheās wearing should be used as armour over her abdomen...you know...where all those very important organs are? I donāt get the leather vest thing for her when scale armour is an option. I think this is an example of another issue I have Heatherās design and how she functions in the show: sheās a warrior with a large, bulky weapon and a huge, armoured dragon..but she also has rogue/stealth elements (This is where the leather vest, hood, and occasional face covering comes in). Itās possible that Iām thinking too narrowly, but I think we should pick a laneāif not for believability, then at the very least to make her design more visually clear.
If weāre staying in the armoured warrior lane, then letās ditch the vest and hood and go with armour over the abdomen, maybe with some chain mail too. Underneath, she can wear a tunic, anywhere from hip to knee length. The colour scheme of her tunic, leggings, and boots could range from dark/desaturated blues, greys, and black. These would work nicely with the colour of her armour. Maybe there could be some brown for variety, but in less rich hues than whatās in her design has now. I also think she should have a helmet (Iām thinking no horns though...and maybe it partially covers her face, so she can have a dramatic reveal when she takes it off) and coil her ponytail into a bun when sheās fighting. Finally, if sheās a warrior, she should have a bulkier, more muscular physique.
Here are some ideas for what I think her design could look like:
Imagine the armour over the womanās chest and shoulders in the first image is made from Windshearās scales instead.

Into the Unknown
If you're happy and you know it
(The sequel story that I will never do)
~~~~~
After a lot of debating over the ethics of leaving baby!Damian as a baby vs aging him up (and a rogue suggestion that they yank an alternate-universe Damian over right before he dies so they can all have their way), they decide to let him grow up naturally. In the end, baby!Damian is still a child and in the process of aging him up magically Damian would reexperience all of his traumas in basically a split second, which is just a lot of mental strain to put someone through. Beyond that, even after aging him up they still wouldnāt get the original Damian back, as the base person is so fundamentally different.
So, Damian basically gets to have a happy childhood with his parents and new extended family! Yay him!
I mean, sure, Damian has never truly known a world outside of the one he had been in, and his aunt and uncles are acting weird around him for reasons he canāt really comprehend, and his dreams are getting increasingly concerning and confusing, and his parents seem more quiet than usual even though theyāre around more to hang out with himā¦
Did he do something wrong?
Meanwhile, Adrien comes from France to check on her and also chuck the Miraculous Box back at her in revenge. Marinette explains that she no longer wishes to do superheroing, but would be happy to help support him from the sidelines. Adrien is surprised, because she had been so interested like a year ago, but before he can be like āoh, good for youā, Gotham experiences its Giant Rogue Attack Of The Week and Adrien looks at the bats like Damn bitch you live like this? Gotham vigilante crew has now been adopted by a French demigod, congrats to them.
But, since Adrien is staying in Gotham, he and Marinette have to navigate this new dynamic between themselves where Adrien actually takes charge while Marinette is more of a healer character, staying out of sight during battles and only really cropping up at the end of fights to help victims and make sure her favorite Kitty doesnāt die. She has the condition that she will not enter a fight at all, as she refuses to leave Damian without a parent, and she will keep to it. So, Adrien is a little bit more careful, not wanting to risk it.
In that same vein, this old universe is still a cesspool of villains that didnāt exist in the original one. Joker, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze. And, as a Wayne, and a young one at that, Damian keeps getting targeted.
Until villains start dropping off the map. Under mysterious circumstances. And none of the bats can bring themselves to look into it. Because itās much harder to brush off all of the deaths they have been indirectly causing by letting Rogues live when you know the person who has almost died personally. Even more so when that person that almost died is your little brother that closely resembles the little brother that you just found out ādiedā. When the person that almost died is the little brother that named that stuffed turtle you bought him Turtle because heās too young to be good at naming things (and will never get better, because they had seen what he had named Alfred the Cat, and maybe the reminder just makes it more difficult).
In the meantime, Tim goes back to work as CEO and starts training to be a vigilante again. People at his job who hardly respected him before because of his age and the nepotism surrounding his hiring now donāt respect him at all after his sudden 6-month break. But that's just his day job, his cover. He's rich. He could quit at any time with very little repercussions.
When it comes to his vigilantism, if he works hard, he could get back into it in a few months, but he keeps watching his family members walk back home with bruises and cuts and more and he had forgotten just how bad it had gotten. Or, maybe he hadnāt forgotten, maybe he had just never realized, and his time as a civilian has altered his perspective.
But he has always been one to commit, and he canāt bring himself to sit by idly without helping, and it isnāt quite so dangerous when most of the major players have been forcibly removed from the equation, so he does it.
Until he comes back, bleeding all over the floor, yelling for Marinette, and Damian sees him. The kid stares at him with horrified, wide eyes. And it would be one thing if Damian didnāt understand, if it was something he would later realize was a close call, but Damian rushes forward to press his hands against the wound.
He realizes he canāt bring himself to do this to the kid.
But he canāt sit idly by while his family risks their lives, either.
So, he becomes a mechanic in this world, too.
And, with both Tim and Marinette off the streets, and Damian more or less safe, and a little bit of time where they get used to their 'new' livesā¦
Tim proposes. Properly.
They have a wedding. Damian is the little ring bearer. Adrien is a bridesmaid. After all of this time, after all that struggling, they finally get their happy ending.
THIS IS VERY BELATED but I want you to know I saw your tags and LAUGHED, so I wanted to pick from one of them (or, more, blend two): How did your characters experience as an orphan shape their perception of Garlemald? Might this have changed if their parents lived? Might this have changed if they were adopted/received a different family?
I'm not playing Gentian any more but I spent SO LONG working on his lore that I can still answer the questions! Yay!
(Also I'm very glad I made you laugh!)
(EDIT: I spent twenty minutes gushing to one of my besties about how much fun I had making this post, and then explaining to him about Gentian, and now I'm back to playing the lad who is going to fix Garlemald come hell or high water! Thank you! XD)
For the first 12-odd years of his life, or at least the bits he remembers, Gentian's world was the orphanage, the block of old homes and slowly collapsing businesses around it, and the people who lived there. Nobody was rich, nobody was strong, but everyone banded together and helped out. The little old ladies in the bakery three doors down always made sure that someone had a cake for their birthday even if it was teeny. The family down the road would hand down clothes as their own army of kids grew up. The kids in the orphanage would run packages around the neighbourhood for the veteran who lost his legs in the Werlyt Campaign and he'd tell them stories of the friends he'd made and loved and lost and sometimes men from his unit would come around and the whole neighbourhood would come together to help them return to civilian life. It was hard but everyone pulled together, and I think it shaped his love of Garlemald in a way that can never be shaken. He's seen the worst of his country, yes, but he's also seen the best.
If his parents had lived he would probably have grown up in Ala Mhigo, loyal to the Empire and completely inured from the dark side of the country. His parents came to the country because his mother was part of the second army of builders, managers and administrators who followed the Garlean victory (she could use paperwork to make almost anything happen, and the messy state of the country genuinely did need people like her), and of course they couldn't leave him behind! It was an accident of bad timing and rebels who didn't care overmuch about civilian casualties that killed them; if she'd left work five minutes later or earlier they'd have lived. I think he'd have still felt loyal to the Empire, and probably still contributed to their magitek in time, but he wouldn't have had the same intense love for the civilian population he has in canon.
It would've been so, so easy for someone terrible to adopt him. The noble families of Garlemald are often twisting knots of infighting and jockeying for power, and we've seen how many innocent sons Valens van Varro took in and tried to corrupt. We've seen how the grandson and great-grandson of the Most Beloved Emperor Solus zos Galvus were raised! He was genuinely lucky it was the Dravis family that got wind of him first, given that they were honest and generally kind. If word of his magitek skills never got out, though, he would've stayed at the orphanage until 18, then been sent to the army to earn his citizenship. I don't think he'd have been happy in that life, and I also don't think he'd survive for very long.
due to bellās high IQ and getting a major head start in school, she never had friends her own age, or it was difficult for her to make friends. since her peers were much older than her, they often saw her as just a kid and wouldnāt bother to approach her.
though, those that did would often use her for help with a project or assignment or studying on a quiz, test, or exam because she was so smart.
bell and leo have been close since practically at birth. while bellās family wasnāt exactly rich like leoās, their mothers knew each other through college and stayed close. so it was only natural that their children would know one another.
however, since it was difficult for bell to make friends her own age, the only person she really had was leo. at first leo didnāt like how clingy bell was, but they eventually became close and inseparable.
when bell first met her now ex-husband, he was constantly jealous of her relationship with leo. and even after they married heād nag her to not spend so much time with him or be overly affectionate with him, which she shot down right away. even if he was her husband at the time, leo was like family to her and she wouldnāt have any of his petty jealous nagging and heād just have to put up with it because leo wasnāt going anywhere.
well or so she thought. when leo left to travel it was hard on bell because she was going through all of the stuff with her infertility and the rockiness of her crumbling marriage.
she still did exchange letters with leo while he was traveling and she was happy that her best friend was finding his passion in life.
when she took a year off to figure out where her life was going after she divorced, she ended up going to the village where leo was teaching and stayed with him for a few months. seeing how passionate he was about teaching made her realize she needed to get back to doing what she loved too.
once leo came back and told her he wanted to go back to school and become a teacher, she was 100% there to help and support him through it all.
after bell settles into teaching at the college level, she realizes just how much she loves it. sheās only ever taught younger children, and when she tried high school level she didnāt like it so much. but once she started teaching early childhood education, it really started to feel like everything was falling into place for her.
bell absolutely adores all of her students ! she is the type of professor to get close with her students, it helps that they are relatively around her age range. but she loves connecting with her students. not only helping them with classes, but with just life in general.
sheās 100% the type of professor you can email, call or text about anything and she will always answer you and help you out anyway that she can.
bell is very difficult to ship with, at least romantically. after her divorce and finding out she canāt have children, itās extremely difficult for her to be open about relationships and getting close with people. not to say it isnāt possible, but it will just take a lot of time for her to connect with someone enough to even want to feel like sheās ready to be in a relationship with someone, especially if she has to broach to topic about children since sheās still very sensitive about it.
in her thirties and forties, i can see coming to terms with never being able to have children of her own, and possibly adopting or wanting to adopt a child or two. and maybe even helping volunteer at elementary schools to help with children because she does really miss being around younger children. and while she doesnāt think sheāll ever be able to teach at that age level again, sheāll still want to be around younger children from time to time.
#ćā§ * ā§: ā§ ā thereās always a glimmer in those who have been through the dark ā± āsarai panyarachunā#ćā§ * ā§: ā§ ā the mind is a river you cannot solve ā± āheadcanonsā#i love my best girl#and her friendship with leo is everything okay i love them <33
Chapter 41 of Good Investment is now up on my Patreon!
Good Investment is available at the $5/month tier. People who pledge $5 a month have access to not only Good Investment but The Sponsors series (ongoing), Pretty Things (complete), May the Blood Run Pure (complete), and Kept Man (complete), along with the $1/month tier books, the Reflections trilogy (ongoing) and The Halfwife (ongoing).
Adri Schvaneveldt has always felt split between two worlds. In one world, they are the adopted child of a large and conservative Mormon family. In another, she is the CEO of a burgeoning fashion empire that pushes boundaries. But in order to be the latter, Adri first has to find the funding. After gaining a hefty following as a social media influencer/model, Adri has the potential customersā if they can get a reliable production model pounded out. And that means a bit of groveling at the feet of investors, most of who have never even heard the term ānon-binaryā.
But Adri lucks out with Gideon Snow, whose youth and open mind bring much needed funds to make Adriās dream of diverse, accessible fashion a reality. Of course, lifting a newborn company to its feet is no small task, and late nights drive Adri to occasional stays at Gideonās nearby house, where their relationship begins stretching beyond business. Adri knows they canāt put an entire business venture at risk for the turbulent whims of their heart. But reason doesnāt always win out.
Excerpt:
āIām not sure what we do about all of this,ā Nandi said. āDo we just ride it out and hope Sofia learns to get a life? Calling the cops is out. So now what?ā
āDonāt you have a restraining order?ā Gideon asked Adri.
āYeah, but enforcing it requires talking to the cops, which I donāt want to do.ā
āWhatās the point in having it then?ā
āBecause at the time I was desperate and I thought it would show Sofia I meant business. She did leave me alone for a few years after that.ā
āI donāt want you to do anything you donāt want to, but I think in this instance, getting the cops involved might scare her off your trail for a while. I meanā¦ she staked out my house, Adri. Thatās pretty fucking deranged. I can handle most of the talking with the cops, since itās my house. She did this to both of us.ā
āHe is a rich white man,ā Nandi told Adri, then leaned back to let the waiter plunk her drink down in front of her. āCops might actually listen to him.ā
Adri looked between Adri and Gideon, unsure. Gideon didnāt want to pressure her into anything, but at the same time he wanted this Sofia bitch away from both of them. If she got a visit from the police, it might cool her off for a while, if nothing else.
āI canāt prove the photo online was one she took, or the DM. Itās only instinct from years of dealing with her.ā
āThe DM came from someone named Got You with Love and her damn initials. Sheās not subtle.ā
Adri took a drink to avoid a response. It may take a few more days of online abuse before Adri really caved on this, and Gideon was willing to wait, though the longer they waited, the more the police would question why they hadnāt done anything earlier. They tended to wave away any harassment unless they were literal death threats, and even then.
āThereās still the option of sending Jay out to beat her ass,ā Nandi muttered as she sipped her drink.
79. A Little Princess, by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Owned: No, library Page count: 261 My summary: Sara Crewe has everything a girl could want. Riches, a loving father, a fine education...but Sara herself is a strange child. This doesnāt hurt her much, until her father dies and takes his fortune with him, leaving young Sara destitute. But through it all, she is determined to remain a princess. My rating: 3/5 My commentary:
This is a book I remember reading quite a bit when I was a kid. In retrospect, it's really not hard to see why it appealed to me. A strange little girl who manages to stay strong despite being forced into hardship by her circumstances...that's the sort of story that's like catnip to me. I saw a copy on the shelves at work the other day, so I decided to come back to it and see how I felt about it as an adult - if it holds up, if it works, or if the fact that it was written over a century ago really doesn't help its case. On the whole, I found it to be the same story I really enjoyed growing up...but I could identify some areas I was less comfortable with now that I'm older.
The first thing I want to mention here is our main character, Sara. She intrigues me. That kind of curious little girl, while obviously a real personality that kids can have, wasn't really seen as the norm at the time. These days, I'd wonder if little Sara would be classed as autistic - she's blunt, speaks her mind, and is prone to fantasy. While the writing sometimes falls into the Good People Like Her, Bad People Hate Her sort of trap, Sara herself is shown to have flaws. She can be rude, bad tempered, and spiteful when she wants to be. Though her circumstances do mitigate them, she's still not perfect, and would be considered less so in the Edwardian period this book was written in. Sara is mentioned as having black hair, green eyes, and skin darker than her counterparts at the school - her mother is dead, and I don't think the implication was meant to be that she's mixed race, but it's an interesting possibility. But all of this is in contrast to the perfect Edwardian child, a blonde, blue-eyed, ringleted, pale little girl. Sara is curious and outspoken, clever but not a braggart, able to endure suffering but still showing human weaknesses. She's a nice little character and I'm very fond of her.
So that's the positives. The negatives? Well, it's the Edwardian of it all. Sara was born in India and her saintly father is one of the colonising military Englishmen who went over there to do some colonialism. And also profit from diamond mines, I guess. Sara is used to being waited on hand and foot by Indian servants, and immediately after she is seen by Ram Daas, her neighbour's Indian servant, he wants to help her and gets her a lot of new furniture and food. (Admittedly, this is part of the charm Sara has that the non-antagonistic adults respond to regardless of ethnicity, but it does bear mentioning that there's a kind of loaded subtext here.) Becky, the scullery maid Sara befriends, is sort of treated by the narrative like being a maid is her only real option - her happy ending is that Sara's her employer now, while Sara herself regains untold riches. Sara treats her friend Ermengarde, who finds school difficult, as though she's stupid; it's a very patronising and pitying relationship. Sara seems destined to be rich, as her virtue and grace shines out even when in rags. It all points back to the values of the early 1900s being kind of askew with my values here in 2023, and it's no wonder that some adaptations have changed some elements of this - like Becky becoming Sara's adopted sister rather than her servant. I think that overall it didn't spoil my personal enjoyment of the book, but that might at least in part be due to the fact that I have fond memories of it. If someone read this first as an adult and really hated it for any of these reasons, I'd get it, you know?
Next, out into the wilds, as a group of girls escape the only home they've known.
(this ask contains mentions of domestic violence)Ā
Heyyy i'm still here churning out wilbur blurbsĀ (wilblurbs?) until their quantity exceeds their quality, like a true capitalist.Ā
So weāre going back to my boy SIren.Ā
With how the Hero/Villain society is structured, I think that several West-End rich people would probably take in children who show potential. Not ātake inā as āadoptā-- not all of these kids are orphans, although plenty areā but ātake inā as in sponsoring them, paying for their education and taking it upon themselves that they become a successful hero.Ā
Nasty process.Ā
Anyway, I bring you the reader, straight from the alleyways and juvenile detention centers of East End Lāmanburg, whoās been training to be a hero ever since they were āsponsoredā.Ā
I wanted to base the sponsor after Pearl from the Inheritance Gamesā I havenāt read the series, but a friend told me about it. Basically, Mrs. Coriander (or whatever you want to call her) is from a long lineage of prestigious families, yada yada, and has been widowed for 20 years. Back in her day, she used to be a talented pianist, not exactly famous but well-renowned in some circles. Her husband, utter bastard that he was, came home drunk one night to hear her play the piano, and he ended up crippling her hands. Later, heād mysteriously die of unfortunate circumstances. Too much medicine in his coffee. Could happen to anyone, said Mrs. Corianderās lawyers. And with after a couple hours of publicity, two days of court hearings, and a couple thousand dollars passed under the table to each of the jurors, Mrs. Coriander was found innocent. To this day, she remains a bitter, sharp-tongued and sometimes downright nasty lady.Ā
Despite owing their entire education and most of their livelihood to this woman, the reader had barely seen her until 3 years into their partnership. Maybe one of the grandkids/employees in the Coriander mafia family died and left a lot of loose ends, and Mrs. Coriander needed someone to fill the spotā and because there was no time to look for another hire, they just brought in the reader temporarily.Ā
The reader gets closer to the old womanā but never warm or familiar. A sort of respect/understanding is created between them, but it's far from āfound family.ā
Maybe the reader plays piano, and learns to play Mrs. Corianderās songs so she can hear them again? (even if the lady is never pleased with how the reader plays them. Sheās a picky ladyā but sheās internally grateful, i promise).Ā
So thatās the time period when Siren meets the reader, a bit bored and not really invested in their hero career that was chosen for them instead of by them.Ā
They still fight him though.
Maybe the reader has the ability to create illusions? Which can be extremely advantageous in a fightā unless the opponent learns to deal with them. After all, their illusions donāt have sound. So while an illusion of a building collapsing would certainly catch someone off guard, theyād quickly realize something is off when the catastrophe is completely silent.Ā
Maybe Siren starts treating the reader a bit more like a vigilante than a villain? They still fight when they see each other, but they have some sort of hesitant respect. You know, the good old āsilently/solemnly nods at you from across the battlefieldā or something.Ā
The reader wonāt stay as a hero though, obviously. Once Mrs. Corianderās old age starts getting to her, she calls the reader to her deathbed and requests that no matter what, they keep the House of Coriander alive and functioningā even at the cost of breaking the law (i say that Mrs. Coriander doesnāt really like her kids/grandkids and shows favoritism towards the reader).Ā
Mrs. Coriander dies, reader pays their respects, and then proceeds to take over the entire family business. And if the other family members/employees are against an outsider and a ā *gag*ā poor person /j taking over their business?Ā Ā
Maybe they disappear. Or are inexplicably fired and blackmailed.Ā
Maybe siren and the syndicate is helping
Maybe he doesnāt dislike how the reader looks in their shiny new mafia suit and feels compelled to help out.Ā
Maybeā---
im LATE TO THIS so sorry (also apologies for any mistypes/bad english i was off drinking so im not 100% sober atm)
but okay holy shit the concept of like "sponsoring" heros is fucking genius and i can imagine it having such a sinister connotation where like, it is a lot of these kid's biggest FEARS because they want to be heros, but they are terrified children like they dont know if they're ready for it
like let me flesh this out more accurately with like social dynaimcs and shit okay?
im bringing hunger games into this because i. fucking love the hungergames but okay so from the tribute pools, a few are people who are a bit better off and who have been training in facilities for the explicit purpose of winning the games (careers), there are some people who are completely terrified of the games and would not volunteer for anything: it's a death sentence for them; but then you have people who are terrified but will volunteer, because they have some reason to (this also brings me a terrible idea for worldbuilding that is dark but i could very much see happening but i digress)
so imagine these kids are the same: some of the more lower-middle class kids actually take classes to hopefully be sponsored by rich people and become heros. you have people who, even if they have overpowered powers, they would NEVER go near a rich person in the fear of getting their power discovered and being found out (it feels more like a death wish than becoming a hero) and then you have people who dont care either way, are still afraid, but they have a bigger motivation to push them to agree: which is where i imagine reader would lie
so reader i imagine is pretty neutral on the whole hero/villain thing. they kinda dont villainize the villains or see the heros heroically. their battles have never concerned them.
but maybe their only family member gets injuried because of some rubble during a hero/villain fight
and said family member is now in the hospital, likely a coma, and reader now has no way to actually pay any of these bills (do NOT tell me to go into the complexities of hero-au insurance companies)
so this random rich person heard abt their powers and wants to sponsor them? fuck it lets take it
(plus i feel like this have a healthy tie in with the mafia concept: she pays for the family member's hospital bills, keeping the reader involved and unable to really leave the family business)
but yeah they get close, reader is basically now the mafia's hero-for-hire (as if they haven't bought out the majority of them anyway) (do not ask me to go into the socio-political climate of hero-aus)
but here's the thing, bc the mafia is more who the reader works for, the reader doesnt really fight villains unless theyre trying to fuck with their stuff - hence the vigilante angle that siren has on reader. but because they're a crime family, the syndicate actually doesnt come after them often. no they usually work together.
reader was never allowed to go to the meetings before she passed away, since the whole "needs to keep the hero identity a secret" thing, but i imagine that civilian reader and wilbur knew each other. wilbur came into one of the businesses that the mafia runs, mostly to run a watchful eye and make sure they're upholding part of their deal, but civilian reader is there sitting in the corner, surrounded by a stack of shady papers, and hey. he's curious
not sure how they would eventually have the identity to civilian discussion but still
after ms. coriander dies, right, the syndicate shows up, and now this hero is standing at the head of the table, clearly corrupt, and theyre like. oh fuck yes.
it just makes their relations better. having an in to the hero committee while having a crime organization that can help cover their trails? yes please
plus... a syndicate member dating the leader of the biggest mafia family in the city? a power fucking couple. not to mention, the businesses could merge, making a full gotham-esque take over
My story ideas:
(Queer fucked up feelings of love kind of stories)
(Ranked my ficked up-ness)
Partners In Crime:
Entire book premise is being fucked up. Character A an B are so fucked up and in love it ruins everything around them and themselves. They are not good people, they hide behind good things to make their actions seem sweeter. They also have a daughter. Yea she's adopted. They adopted her before turning to the life of crime. Or after and the kid ran away and found them. Idk. Character A and B are notorious criminals and hide behind punk and anarchist ideology to pretend to actually be doing good things. We later learn this was all through the daughters perspective. It opens and ends with her. The farther into the book the more clear how bad of people A and B are. However there is a spot that seems out of place. Everything is nice. Like the eye if a storm, or the top of a Rollercoaster. They're still doing crime, it's what they do. But they're a family. Then everything goes to shit and Character B leaves claiming their gonna ruin them if they stay, nd tha they're being driven mad. It's just Character A and C now, A and B, despitemaking eachother worse, are even worse apart, like oh my god. Later A goes to see B, B "realizes" A was driving them mad, it wasn't a desperation to be alone, it was to be away from them. Blah Blah Blah. A kills B. B's dies in A's arms, last words being "Goodbye my love, I'm glad to say I'll never see you again" (A's dying words are "I can't wait to see you again my love) where book 1 ends and book 2 starts kinda blurs. Idk what happens to A after this. Thinking the get arrested finally. Character C witnessed the whole thing. The news portray Character C as a tragedy, and kidnapped. But C was their daughter, and even though they weren't good people, they were her parents. Not good parents. Their love, to anyone, is intoxicating. But there was love. She gets readopted by a rich family. They only see her as a charity case. She later cuts them off and goes back to the punk scene. She starts a band. Book 2 is following her life after the events of Book 1 and all about her being fucked up and trying not to be fucked up, and juggling eith the favt that A and B, despite being the best parents she hd, arent good people, or even good parents. Which fucks up all her relationships. Her band is just barely holding together.
Take My Heart:
Group of people stranded in the middle of now where. They run out of food sources and have to resort to cannibalism. Character A says no fucking way and if they do, don't tell her where they got it, make up a lie or something. Character B and C are siblings. One day Character A is drawn for it. Character B refuses and starts pleading. Saying I know all of you have someone you would trade anything for here. Someone that if one person survives you want it to be them. Character C says they do. They want their sister to live. It's Character B above anyone else. Character B apologizes. Character C thinks it's for how Character B would choose Character A over them always. Character C apologizes too, for what happened to Character A. Character B says no, I'm sorry because you won't get your wish. Character B asks to go say goodbye first. They give to Character A tending to the fire, and tell them everything they've ever wanted to. They both know what's happening but Character A doesn't want to acknowledge that and keeps saying well both get out of here. Character B makes one request "Character A gets my heart". Character C goes to Character A during this moment. Later maybe it's only Character A and C left, maybe Character C sacrifices themself because "the only person I've ever cared about, only cared about you making it out". Or maybe both A and C make it out, idk.
Trapped in Paradise:
Both gay and fucked up, however mostly unrelated. The gay people are mostly healthy. As healthy as you can get living in a dystopian. It follows 3 main characters. Characters A and C are royalty. Character A ran away. Character A and B are in a secret town. One idea I had many years ago that idk if I'm gonna keep is there being 2 different sides of the town, one posed as where the good is and one as where the bad is. But yk that was said by the "good" side, of course there gonna say they're good. If this stays Character B is from the side told as bad. But it's just like punk. Oh yea this town is incredibly dystopian. Anyways yay A and B love story. Character C is from character A's childhood. Character A ran away as a kid and got trapped in the woods with something chasing her. That something ends up being the antagonist of Book 2 and 3 (it's a trilogy) or maybe just 3 idk. Anyways the town saves her by taking down their magical barrier for a second to drag her inside before closing it. The first book (or first 2) are them taking down the dystopian government. Back to Character C, A was the closest person to them before A ran away. C never stopped looking for A. Yay C eventually finds her! (The first time) they become friends again :) After they take down the dystopian government, they meet the thing that chased her earlier. The thing is a shape-shifter, true form being a shadowy thing. The thing (gonna call E- for Evil guy) is obsessed with winning. Thy cannot lose. But they have. Once. When A escaped them. But now, they're free again. E can win. Blah blah blah idk what's happening in this time period. The ending however. A found the only way to save everyone. A goes out alone to fight E. E traps A, so E won. (Not really, E is too focused on A to harm anyone else, so A lost yes, but E didn't win either) anyways A is trapped for entirety cursed to never die but continuously go though torture. C never stopped looking for A after A disappeared (went off on her own). C never found them. B broke down. They were gone just as A was. Except B got the release of death that A never got.
Mark Of The Gods:
Fantasy book based off of a fictional mythology I created. The gods were staring to loose their power and begin to fade away. So logically they chose to latch onto people. A mark of a God would appear on someone's upper arm somewhere around 16 years old, and they would be gifted with some kinds of powers. Government wants to control that, school for said kids to train, blah blah blah dystopian and queer kids and stuff.(honestly probably the oldest but least thought out) for the mythology itself, there are 3 main planes, order chaos and neutral. The only gods in neutral are either outlasted from order or born there. There are 2 main gods, Chaos and Order. Woah. None of the gods are named yet. The Chaos plane has many different kind of gods, even ones that don't necessarily fit the Chaos theme. The gods born from Chaos but are overly mostly choose to leave but are never kicked out. If there are any gods from Order that dint fit the are forced to go to either neutral or Chaos depending on the God. No gender just god. God is gender neutral. Some of the characters of this story are named (surprisingly not the main characters) oh yea it's probably gonna be a love story between the God of Chaos and orders anchors (what the people who the gods latch onto) maybe the kids become God at the end idk
Gay Pirates:
Only kinda fucked up. 2 girls taken in by Pirates at a young age after abandon after everyone fled when Pirates showed up at a town. Years later is when the story takes place, they want to go to the land only to realize shit we don't like it here. And probably other stuff kinda forgot this existed until recently. This is based off of memory.
Medusa:
this is going off of Medusas actual myth, which is just "she's just like that". So she was born a gorgon. It's a story about grief and forgiveness. Medusa meets a blind women (Character A). There's flashbacks to another lover she had in the past and later it's revealed she got turned to stone (by one of her sisters, accidentally) its also revealed that Medusa was looking for a way to undo the stone when she ran into Character A. Character A has a whole story too. Forgot what it was but it's there.
Radio Activism:
this one's chill. It's just a silly book. There's Character A, they have a radio station and people send in stories or suggestions and they make it into a song on the fly. One day Character B calls in and suggests a song. Character B is part of a (punk) band, and really likes Character A's music. Character B asks if Character A wants to play with their band. They do, and then they start hanging out more. Character C is a member of the band. Character A knows them somehow. And reunites with them when they see them at the band (Rocky start tho). Basically poly love story between Character A B and C.
#maybe i ahould give these people names#eh#fuck it we ball#yea if you couldnt tell some of em dont have names#some if em arent fully decided yet#some of em hve been there for years#so#yippie#qr#writers on tumblr#corvid writes#writeblr#writing#author#these are going to change a lot#these were created years ago#some havent been revisited since#i think it would be really funny to build up a reputation as an author for unhappy endings#then release Radio Activism#and then continue on#the medusa story i still dont know weather or not if its going to be a happy or unhappy ending#cause i could have perseus show up#and then medusa dies#and the other character is lost again#but idk
Soooo this is Samson šš
Half Sun Elf
35 years old
He/him
Lawful/Neutral Good
Grew up in a small village called Elmwood which Iām headcanoning as fantasy Ireland so Iām justified in giving Sam and his dad Irish accents lmao
Heās a doctor (or at least wants to be but too poor for med school), learned everything he knows about practical medicine from his mom (sun elf) and learned how to care for patients by taking care of his chronically ill dad (human)
His dad died when he was 7 and his mom took her own life when he was 11, he was supposed to go live with his aunt and uncle in Calimport but they sucked so he stowed away on a ship when he was 12, became a part of the crew, and then left when he was 15 and they docked in Waterdeep
He was homeless in Waterdeep for a while until my other tav Odette (duergar monk she/her) took him in and basically adopted him as her little brother. Years later when Sam is 30 he finds Wren (my human sorcerer tav they/them) beat up in an alley and takes them to the flat for treatment. They also have no place to call their own so, with a lot of pleading and puppy eyes from Sam, Odette agrees to let them stay
5 years later they all get snatched up by the Nautiloid
Hereās just a bit better description of his appearance since character creator only does so much
Heās a 6ā4ā beanpole, tall and lanky as hell
He has decent upper body strength from working on a ship and in a bakery most of his life but a pretty slim lower body
Absolutely covered in freckles
Has curly hair that he likes keeping trimmed short in the back cuz of hair on neck sensory issues
His right eye (your left) is a rich brown color while the left eye (your right) is a gold hazel color (you can kinda see if you zoom in on some of the pics)
He always wears glasses my guys blind as a bat
He has a scar on the lower left side of his abdomen and back from where he got ran through with a rapier in a pirate attack while he was sailing
And hereās just some more fun facts
He canonically romances Gale and is monogamous but Iām planning to make OOC stuff of him myself so go crazy go stupid aaahhh
The only thing I wonāt do OOC for him is hetero stuff cuz if I had to label his sexuality it would be demisexual homoromantic and Iād feel weird having him be with someone who isnāt a man or masculine nonbinary
Heās a Verse / Switch but usually prefers topping
Heās circumcised (I made his parents both retired clerics just to justify it lmao)
Will enthusiastically demonstrate all the knots and rigging skills he acquired from his sailing days if his partner is up for it *wink wink*
Gives the best aftercare (he is a doctor after all)
He cares a lot about others, usually more than himself, which makes it hard for him to see when heās being taken advantage of
Can be very perceptive in other situations though (knew Nettie was up to something when she grabbed a plant he recognized as dangerous, didnāt drink Jaheiraās drink cuz he could smell the herbs)
Heās ambidextrous and can sometimes lock in on a task and be found illustrating a surgical exposure with one hand while writing a description with the other
He doesnāt drink alcohol (doesnāt like the taste or how it makes him feel plus has bad memories associated with it) but he does smoke a tobacco pipe when heās stressed
Apologies if this got long Iāve been obsessed with this OC of mine since before I even got the game lol he means so much to me ā¤ļø
I am planning on writing a Gale x Rolan x Samson fic soon thatās gonna be post Lorroakan defeat and include some hurt/comfort, sappy confessions, and then Rolan getting sandwiched between Gale and Samson as he receives the most tender love and care that probably makes him cryā¦ if youād be interested in reading something like that I can tag you when itās done š
It might take a little why for me to get around to it cuz my chronic illness is still acting up and Iām still recovering from being in the hospital and having to go back to work so apologies on that š«¶
Also love Rackal what a beefcake
I wanna draw some spice because I got a good long weekend ahead and need some silly things to draw between bigger projects. I also really wanna practice more spicy stuffs.
Some quick facts about my Tav for your consideration:
Rackal Orro:
-52 years old
- Captured on the Nautiloid alongside his twin sister.
-Half Drow (human mom, drow father. Mom was a Barbarian, dad a former cleric turned simple shopkeep. All the height/muscle comes from Mom.)
- former fighter turned paladin (Oath of Devotion). Smashes his Oath while saving the tieflings, specifically one grumpy one in particular (honestly, good riddance; it was getting in the way of getting shit done)
- Former Flaming Fist turned mercenary/adventurer prior to events of BG3; been out of the Fists for 5 years
- Burn scars from failed Fist mission 10 years ago, wherein he lost his longterm lover
- Romantic life has been meh since; a couple of relationships, none lasting more than a couple months. Ends up in slow burn with Rolan and falls HARD.
- Chaotic Good
- Service Dom/Top
Persona: Comes off a bit stoic/too serious at the start of the adventure/until the Grove party (though, to be fair, heās just trying to keep his sister alive and is constantly assessing an increasingly disastrous situation, realizing fairly quickly that there is more going on than the tadpoles. Also, it doesnāt help that his dead lover is haunting his dreams telling him to eat even more tadpoles.). After a breakdown, mellows out, but still maintains a pretty serious attitude. Rather impulsive, especially in situations he perceives as a threat. Loyal, wary, does not forgive easily. Scratch is one of the few things keeping him sane.
- Volo Lobotomy Status: signed right the fuck up after downing a quarter bottle of whiskey. It was perfect timing; the moment Volo suggested it, Rackal had experienced:
Surprise vampire in camp; now his sister is a bloodbag.
Laeāzel trying to kill him.
Shadowheart and Laeāzel trying to kill each other.
Laeāzel fucking his sister, which he couldāve ignored if it DIDNāT WAKE UP THE CAMP
Dead lover jumpscare
All within 48 hours.
He was genuinely thinking ā FUCK IT TAKE ME OUT.ā
Party like it's [Sim Year Undetermined]
I counted at least 5 New Year mentions, but there was that gap from January to April, so there might be a few more. Feels weird that these guys have only had 5 New Years but whatever.
There are numerous New Year's party posts on here, but I like throwing them, and my Sims like parties, so I'll keep doing it.
So here is the actual New Year's Eve party, and also when Trigger could (mournfully) introduce himself to his family. For some reason he aged up with the moodlet of mourning Moira, even though she died when he was very much a baby, which is annoying. I didn't know Moira made such an impact on him despite literally never seeing him.
Before the party began, the day was already chock full of small things, such as Buck beginning to teach Trigger to talk (dude just grew up but go off I guess), and comforting him on a loss that he did not know.
I honestly like when the party first starts and I see the Sims begin to pour in.
The mood was jovial, and everyone seemed to have a good time (except maybe Rich, as his arms were clipping through his torso when he was sitting down)
To make up for his clipping issues, he tried flirting with Laurie, but she absolutely was not having it. Every time I have a party where Rich and Laurie are invited, Rich tries to flirt with Laurie, and every single time without fail, Laurie immediately shuts him down, and usually berates him for even having the notion that he could do so.
When it came to the final countdown, it was a little glitchy, so I don't have any celebratory pictures, which is so unfortunate. I caught Ali hugging Trigger, and I am endlessly sad that I didn't get it in time to take a picture. It was so cute. Ali is already a fantastic aunt for Trigger.
Throughout the whole party, Trigger was not having a great time. Between him being tired, mourning Moira, and having stranger danger, he wanted nothing more than to just go to bed. Buck read him a bedtime story at like, 3 in the morning, an hour before Buck and Mary Lu went to bed themselves.
Like, you see the light from the windows? Despite the party being finished around 1-2am, some Sims stayed to chat for hours, while Mary Lu and Buck cleaned up the house.
Ali, sweetie, just because it's Sunday tomorrow doesn't mean you can stay up this late. (I suppose it's kinda but not really fine, as her mom and sister are also still there)
The next morning (or afternoon, really), Ashlee Landgraab called Mary Lu to tell her that someone in the household (probably Ashlee, I can't see Malcolm having anything to do with children) adopted a toddler, and so Mary Lu went over briefly to meet him.
His name is something like Adolfo, and he has the fussy trait. Nice to meet you, little dude. You will grow up in the lap of luxury, but also with Malcolm Landgraab. Sorry. Maybe by the time Adolfo is fully grown, Malcolm will be dead. One can hope.
#I'll be going over to Flat and Flo next#I just wanted to wait until Trigger was a toddler before doing so#I still need to figure out when to move Flo and Flat into the Sims 3 Broke lot but for now they need to save money#They'll almost certainly get a couple roommates since they'll only be using one trailer for now#Ruby's trailer won't be hers for a *while*#the sims 4#ts4#simblr#the sims 4 gameplay#the sims 4 screenshots#sims 4#the sims 4 legacy#ts4 gameplay#the brokes#images have alt text
