Genesis had a crush on Sephiroth which was obvious to everyone but Sephiroth. For years Genesis would try to make it clear to Sephiroth that he liked him and wanted them to be more then just friends, other then just flat out tell him that, which of course all these attempts just flew over Sephiroth’s head. Years later during one of Sephiroth’s returns from the lifestream, not only does Genesis find out that Sephiroth is alive but he also finds out about his infatuation with Cloud. Safe to say that Genesis is just a tad bit jealous of Cloud, because what does that blond twink have that he doesn’t?!

If Genesis really wants to catch Sephiroth's attention, he should start trying to seduce (or murder, same thing in Sephiroth's eyes) Cloud. Then Sephiroth will be all over Genesis.

Maybe not in the way that Genesis is hoping but...murder really is the truest form of love when it comes to Sephiroth.
