Random soft Sephesis headcanons because they deserve good things

Looking at each other in a crowded room when they think no one’s watching

Genesis writing crappy love poems and leaving them around on little sticky notes for Seph to find

sephiroth blushes. EVERY TIME he finds them because they’re just so romantic (he can really tell gen puts effort into them because of crossed out/erased words and the fact that genesis chooses to do this, to show how much he loves him, makes sephiroth happy beyond words). They’re cheesy but he loves them and keeps them all in a special box

Sephiroth draping over Genesis and falling asleep because he needs to revert to his Natural State (weighted blanket)

Sephiroth has a hard time expressing his love so he does it through little things…keeping Genesis’ favorite shampoo/conditioner in his bathroom for when he stays over, having banora apples in the house because “they’re a good source of nutrition,” putting up a sword holder thing for rapier, etc

genesis is more physical in his affections and Sephiroth, being the touch starved bean he is Loves It.

in relation to the last bit, Genesis loves playing with Sephiroth’s hair

they get married in the apple orchard in banora; it’s a very small ceremony, with only about thirty or so people

they settle down on a small farmstead in the grasslands region (I know that Shinra would never let them retire but shhhhhh all of this is wishful thinking anyway) and have a lot of animals. Rescued cats, maybe a few white rats, chickens, and more!

a lil tiny bit of a sephgen thing i was so close to abandoning but i got inspiration from another genesis enjoyer today so i'm working on it again

“You’re bored,” Genesis said, closing his book. 

Sephiroth shook his head. “I’m not.”

“Why are you staring into space, like that?”

“Just thinking about life. What do you want to be when you grow up?”

“I’m going to be a hero. So are you. That’s what we’re doing here. That’s the whole point.”

“I meant, apart from that. Isn’t there anything else you want for yourself?”

“What else is there?”

“I don’t know,” Sephiroth shrugged. “A family. A normal life.”

“Sephi, we’re special. We’re not like other people, with their dull little humdrum existences, never doing anything important or changing anything. We’re the ones who get to do that. We’re the ones whose names will be remembered by history. So, who the hell wants that boring, domestic crap, with neighbors and dinner parties, and…lawn maintenance.”

“I’ve always wanted those things. I don’t think it sounds boring, at all.”

“You’re romanticizing it because you never had a normal life. Trust me, it’s nothing to aspire to. It’s nothing but stifling drudgery.”

“You don’t even want a family?”

“We’re sterile.”

“There’s adoption.”

“Tch. I don’t plan to have time for children. There’d be no point in me adopting some brats for nannies to take care of, while I’m out saving the world.”

“Oh,” Sephiroth said, crestfallen.

“And you’ll be out saving the world right along with me,” Genesis smiled, leaning over to bump their shoulders together. “You won’t have time for those things, either, so it’s best to forget about it. Who needs families when we’ve got each other.”

Sephiroth looked up, and suddenly it seemed that their faces were very close together. 

“Gen,” he murmured.

“Mn,” Genesis said, as he leaned even closer, tilting his head slightly and letting his eyes flutter shut.

Sephiroth could feel his warm breath on his lips. He swallowed hard. “What are you…what are you doing?”

Genesis’ eyes snapped open. He went stock still for a breath, then he pulled away hastily, golden-ivory cheeks blushing like ripe apples, as he scrambled to his feet. “W—what are you doing! Why are you always pestering me when I’m reading, anyway! Leave me alone!”

“Wait, Gen, don’t—Gen, come back!” Sephiroth called after him, as he ran away toward the dormitory. Then he cradled his head in his hands and sighed. “Damn it.”

I've been having a rough week so I decided to do a bit of a Throwback Thursday and repost most of my favorite Sephesis pieces. I have a lot more, because I've had brainworms about these two basically since CC first came out, but they're all too old or too sketchy for me to be comfortable sharing in public.
