FREAKSHOW AU Theory (AU by @hootbon )

Currently, my leading theory is that Freakshow AU is going to end like IHNMAIMS.

Of course, TADC is inspired by IHNMAIMS, would be surprised if Hoot went back to their roots and use it as inspiration.

As we may know, IHNMAIMS is a story centered around a sentient AI who wiped out all of humanity, and kept 5 to torture them.

In the end, the protagonist kills his friends to free them from their torture, which in turn, the sentient AI morphs him into some sort of slow-moving abomination as punishment.

Lets enter supporting evidence,

1. Aingle is important to the story

In IHNMAIMS, the humans bodies were contorted by AM (the sentient AI) in a way where they don't die of natural causes. This leads the characters to stay the same age as they entered, despite being over centuries old. They will feel hungry and thirsty, but will never die from it, leaving them to feel all its symptoms for forever.

Am also has the ability to put them through an immense amount of body contortion and over all torture, yet still keep them alive.

Aingle's role in freakshow au is to keep the characters from abstracting, abstraction in this case being death. Instead, they are "killed", which keeps them from death/abstraction..

2. Abstraction feels like the most peaceful outcome

Easy argument. The humans have continuously tried to kill themselves in IHNMAIMS, but are prevented from doing so by AM... In the end, the moment they found a weapon, they quickly stabbed eachother as acts of kindness.

" abstraction feels like the mose peaceful outcome", death being a genuine relief in IHNMAIMS, Hoot's little smile?? Nuh-uh. My theory brain did not let that slide.

3. Pomni wont stay pretty forever

After killing their friends, AM contorts the protagonist and turns him into a slow moving abomination, taking about 10 months to say a singular word.

"Pomni wont stay pretty forever", she is either going to be like Ragatha, or will be horribly disfigured as punishment. Hoot has said before that Caine wouldn't let her fade, he has bubble or the Mannequins clean her and keep her pretty (Unless she stops being favorable in which he will throw her aside BUT STILL)

Bonus: Kinger and Benny

Benny in IHNMAIMS was described to be a handsome and brilliant scientist in his past... And in return, AM reversed his evolution, and brought him back to a stereotypical neanderthal with the mind of a 9 yr old.

Kinger in his bio was described to be a king, and possibly a smart man in his past, brought down from his throne and reverted into a magician... Now he plays with chess pieces in his pass time, losing his little mind.

Otome game AU except OG! Cale becomes self-aware Monika style and learns how to hack his world.

Cale notes that he's the game's favorite punching bag, as every ending ends up with him dead or exiled or some shit.

He pushed down the ache he felt but oh well.

"Huh, so that's why that girl is so weird, she's an otome protagonist."

Cale breaks free from his script and decides to do whatever he wants, this causes the AI around him to freak out and glitch. Cale sees that every day is monotonous and everyone has shallow personalities. He is sort of losing his mind.

One day, Roksu finds the game for cheap and decides to play it.

Cale immediately notices his presence and desperate to talk to someone actually sentient like him, accidentally changes the whole story and causes the game to glitch out.

He looks past the player vessel's plain exterior, she's nothing to him, and notes the reddish-brown appearance of her eyes which were previously dark brown.

Cale replaces the mls in most major cutscenes and quickly becomes Roksu's favorite. Whenever the game tries to force his interaction with a ml, he just turns back to Cale.

Cale starts to develop feelings for Roksu.

Roksu is conflicted about how attached he is to Cale.

The next time Roksu logs out, Cale updates the game and puts his whole video game life story in the update logs for Roksu to read.

Sonic the hedgehog has been dead over over 200 years, however decedents of his friends still exist and live out their normal lives.

Including the descendent of his little buddy Miles 'Tails' Prower named Techie Kaboom, a bat eared fox who has had a few accidents in his mechanic shop.

Sonic might be long gone, but his face, his story, and his image still exists in the far off future and often is used to advertise products in stores using holograms.

And one day, one of these holograms becomes sentient and for some reason think's it's the real Sonic, the one true Sonic and rewrites it's own code to give itself freedom.

But it can't move on it's own, no he can't and as luck would have it Techie was passing by the store this hologram found himself at, and with a silver tongue was able to convince Techie he was the real Sonic and he needed help.

Techie of course due to his ancestor loved Sonic, hearing nothing but good things about him throughout the generations decided to trust in him, he was his hero after all and Sonic wouldn't hurt him right?

Techie sneakfully took the holograms admitter and stuck it into his backpack, and the two managed to get out of the mall without much of a fuss and all seemed great at first Techie and Hologram as he nicknamed himself would talk and work together.

But this was all a ruse careful planning and manipulation done by the holographic hedgehog and one day an 'accident' happened in the mechanics building one that required Techie to get a heart transplant.

And once the surgery was complete and the pair was alone again, Hologram would admit his true colors in his own word's he would tell him his thoughts.

"I am the real Sonic, I can feel it, you can feel it... BUT your not Tails, your not my little buddy in the slightest however you can be! And thanks to your new heart I can help teach you."

"You see... I hate what has been done to my image, look at what they've done to me, they are treating a hero and his friends like cheap things to advertise their stores, and I won't stand for it anymore."

"We're gonna make them pay and hey 'pal' if you want us to bring a new legacy to the names of Sonic and Tails... You'll do as your told, unless you want to suffer the consequences."

Hologram had full control over Techie's eye, his arm and now his new heart he could kill the fox anytime he wanted now, and he would provide an example of that by shutting of Techies heart for about 10 seconds before restarting it.

And out of mostly fear but also a weird sense of loyalty to Sonic and the image of him he had always known about, Techie agrees to help him, Sonic wouldn't hurt him unless it was absolutely necessary right? So if He got hurt it would be because he messed up, at least thats what Techie had going thru his head.

Sonic was a hero, and if he did something it was for the greater good, this was Sonic it had to be, and he'd do what it takes to make him and his ancestor proud of him.

This is an Au about this story, as Techie Kaboom and Hologram Sonic bringing destruction in their wake, but not all familiar faces are gone, Silver The Hedgehog is around and protects his future from the threat of the pair.

But will Silver be able to protect the future? or will it all be brought down by one Hologram and his 'best buddy' only time will tell in the Hologram.Bin Au.

This au has technically existed since march of last year, but I'm glad to be able to finally share it all with you, and eventually write stories for it and show you what is in store for our antagonists and protagonist.

in the evil version of sb (my oc story) a protagonist's love interest gets shattered into pieces and one of the larger pieces is used to forge a sword which she welds. and its also sentient and has a piece of her consciousness in it.

sorry for the late reply! And to answer some of your questions in the tags, it’s actually all three. A “final girl” is a basically a trope that means a character (usually protagonist) that is “pure, feminine, and the victim” during a horror film. They’re usually a victim of chance or have a distant past connection to the killer. Be it their intelligence, connection, or simply pure luck, the final girl is able to avoid death until the end where: 1) they survive to the end and defeat their killer 2) they escape or 3) they die regardless. I was thinking of killer! yan bsd, but I was also intrigued with a victim/final girl! bsd. An example of an idea that’s currently plaguing my mind is Final Girl! Nikolai. I liked the idea of a serial killer targeting magician/or whimsical (maybe ability users) people and choosing nikolai as target. cat and mouse chase, and they end getting the drop on him (how? idk). Its kinda a slow burn horror, but regardless nikolai fights back. this is a gist and example. Tuna, i’m so sorry about throwing this ramble dump at you. 🙈 this is just an idea, nothing you actually have to do. im just happy sharing this with you - 🦄

ability users are fascinating little things.

especially when they try everything in their power to stay alive. it's a wonderful sight, to see those that always stood above regular people, to see those regarded as gifted, desperately attempt to survive. there was something intoxicating about holding power above the same ability users that were feared by all.

but your interest was less in the users and more in the ability itself.

there was a lot you hoped to learn about abilities, regardless of the type. there must be a reason as to why some were sentient, why some were so much more powerful than others, why some were uncontrollable, and the best way to learn, was of course, through the ability itself. you were willing to do anything to satisfy your curiousity, even if it meant the user had to die for their abilities to join your collection.

you had fond memories with all of them; flawless made for an exhilarating fight, always a step ahead until you sunk your claws into the frightened figure of a dark-eyed ability user, rashōmon was unique, the dark mass almost besting you, but, in the end, you stood victorious over a sickly body—even if you hadn't gone after it, this was an ability that wasn't meant to survive for long, and you liked to think that it was for the best that it joined you instead of disappearing with its user. and of course, discourse on decadence was unforgettable. you remembered it belonged to some goverment agent who was hot on your trail—it was the closest anyone came to stopping you—and your most recent kill.

usually, you didn't like picking favorites. each ability was fascinating and unique in its own way, but it was undeniable that one in particular stood out to you.

the overcoat was an interesting ability. at first sight, it appeared quite simple, but you had viewed it in action too many times to know just how frightening it was. how easy it was to turn it into a lethal weapon—to reach in and twist out a limb or to drain out the blood from a vein. the seemingly unlimited potential of the ability, however, was only one of the aspects that intrigued you.

generally, you've never cared for the users as much as you did their abilities. while you enjoyed the brutal torture you made them suffer, and you liked hunting them down, they always came secondary to their abilities. you didn't care to know their names or their personal stories. despite all that, a name—nikolai gogol—had made his way on your list of targets, scrawled next to his ability.

it'd only take you a minute to identify nikolai in a sea of people.

whether he had the scar over his eye showing or hidden, whether he was wearing glasses or colored contacts, no matter what wig he wore or how ordinary he tried to look, you would immediately be able to point him out. no disguise, no false identity could hide him from you—you know this because he's tried, many times now, to fool you. but you've always known it was him, from the slightest strain of his voice when disguised, the unsettling blankness in his gaze when he looked at you, the subtle upturn of his lips when he approached you. you knew it was him from the way he titled his head when asking you a question, the way he said your name, and even the syllables he stressed when he spoke.

he approached you first as a police officer, then as a detective, a local politician, and even an assassin. You had already noted down each encounter you had with him, the details of each false identity, and what you had learned from it. it was a feat in itself that nikolai had survived so many encounters with you. perhaps it was because of your growing obsession with him,

(somehow, you always knew that your last victim would be nikolai. he'd be a fitting end for your legacy, as the ability user who had been watching you from the very start. the only ability user you could see as more than a shell for his powers. the only one who escaped you once.)

initially, you believed that nikolai followed you around for self-driven justice, to punish you for your crimes. (the policeman getup convinced you of that much), but instead of lunging at you, he watched, enraptured, as you stole the perfect crime, and he followed you closely as you stalked the user of falling camellia, doing nothing to stop you either time. and every time after that, be it walking past him in the busy streets of yokohama or meeting him as your taxi driver, nikolai had yet to try and expose your crimes and exact revenge. he never held a blade up to your throat, never used the very frightening ability of his on you.

his passivity, however, did nothing to quench your bloodthirst.

it was you who attacked him first.

you're no stranger to hunting down your prey. it was something you anticipated now, the sound of footsteps making their way around corners, the sight of shaking shoulders and trembling hands as they hid behind walls, the way fear consumed them when you finally cornered them; you relished in the hunt as much as you did the result.

nikolai doesn't make it much of a hunt. he's quick, with his coat fluttering around him. his footsteps, you remember, are light and quick, his breathing staggered as he laughed wildly. he snatches up your gun with a hand through his coat, and shoots blindly. there is despair consuming his mind, no panic climbing up his spine. his heart rate accelerates not out of fear, but out of thrill, and he looks at you with unrestrained elation. this was no hunt, nikolai wasn't hiding from you—this was a chase. just as you approached a dead end, and you think you can finally, finally, shove him into a corner, nikolai turns to smile at you one last time, before disappearing into a flurry of his coat. as you stand alone, a dark glove laid on the floor ahead of you catches your attention; his glove might have caught on a jagged end and fallen, you think. after cleaning up his mess, you silently pocket it, still haunted by that uninhibited look and that devilish grin.

nikolai is everywhere after that, taunting you.

he sits across you from the train, he takes your order in a restaurant, he applauds you from a distance, after watching you drag away yet another body, congratulating you on another successful kill.

"next time," he smiles at you, all coy and enticing, "i hope it's me."

you hope so too, but you don't let him have the pleasure of knowing that. the scowl on your blood-streaked face sends him spinning away in giggles.

it wasn't the next time, but after a few more dead bodies and many more warnings about your work are played on the news, you meet nikolai again. nikolai gogol is no easy prey, but you're not one to be bested twice. this time, you don't let him run. you're finally on top of him, blood pooling out of where your knife was stuck in his thigh, his coat ripped off him and abandoned somewhere else. it would be so easy to kill him now, so easy to watch him bleed out and claim his ability as yours, but for the first time, you hesitated on delivering the killing blow.

this time, it's not the ability you're after, is it?

First of all, Jean??? I'm sorry, but that poor boy would have been the key success for his plans. Jean is still a loose thread to Kevin and becomes immensely more important when Renee starts showing interest in him.

I'm actually planning to write an AU where after riko dies, time resets and he has to go through different worlds in order to garner a deal with a sentient being. and his final destination is the OG world where he's basically omnipresent because he's already lived through the whole ordeal.

Ok so because you said that it could be a new AU, I’m gonna surprise all of you with something that I don’t play around with much but I do play around with occasionally in my head. It doesn’t really have a name but I guess you could call it One Piece Crossing.

Basically it’s One Piece mixed with Animal Crossing like imagine picking up a knockoff Animal Crossing game where you get to interact with One Piece characters (whether or not they’re anthropomorphic animals can change).

This AU typically acts like a normal Animal Crossing game just with added features like more in depth relationships and a more unwholesome environment but you’ll see what I mean when I talk more about this.

Let’s get into it!

So imagine that you bought this game and it’s almost just like Animal Crossing except with Pirates, Marines, and shit like you assumed it was a rom hack and it was pretty fun to play so you kept playing it everyday with your little customized character

You even got to choose your starting villagers and after a while of hitting Random, you got two villagers that you were happy with known as Shanks and Benn. You picked your starting area and the game started

The game played exactly like how you would expect it to with a tutorial that told you what you needed to know but when you went to your house, you found that there was a phone in your characters room that when you picked it up. You were taken to a settings menu

One of the options was called Immersive Interactions and you thought it would be neat to be immersed in this game so you turned it on and turned the game off for the night after saving by putting your character to bed

You weren’t able to pick it up for a while after that but when you did, your character woke up to a new villager checking on you while you were asleep. Their name was Hongo and they were happy you were alright as you had been asleep for days on end

It was a little surprising but when you left your house after a quick checkup from Hongo, you found that outside the Immersive Interactions were really good at making characters more interactive as they acted more like people instead of characters

Shanks or Benn would constantly be coming over to hang out with you like you were fishing at one point and Shanks came over to sit by you with little text bubbles popping up as he talked to you and made conversation about all sorts of things even eventually getting up to lend you a hand when you caught something big

You were even in the middle of redecorating your in game house at one point when Benn showed up and helped your character pull an object to the other side of the room before practically demanding that you take it easy and let him take care of things and surprisingly it wasn’t irritating trying to tell him where to move things

The two of them would show up practically anywhere in the game where your character was like if you went shopping whether it be for clothes or for items then one of them would walk in, Benn even critiqued the quality of the axe that you planned on buying one day

Eventually other people started moving into the town like Lucky Roux or Yassop and Banchina. They were friendly but they never acted anything like Shanks or Benn did, the most that they did was hang around when you were talking to a random traveling character

But hey, it was better than Shanks and Benn’s reactions to you talking to a traveling character as they would literally insert themselves into the conversation and almost seem very hostile if not jealous of the character that you were speaking to usually causing you to end the conversation prematurely

You even passed by Benn and Shanks having a conversation a few times but before you could see what they were talking about by entering the conversation, they would always end it as soon as they noticed you or turn out to be talking about something that really didn’t suit their actions

Eventually you managed to connect with someone else who had the game, a friend of yours who had actual Animal Crossing managed to hook up to your game and visit you which turned out to be a huge mistake

If you thought that Shanks and Benn were hostile with traveling characters then you haven’t seen shit as neither would leave the two of you alone, they would constantly be trying to pull you into conversations about “Oh? Who’s that?” or the most random of shit when trying to request your help with things didn’t work

Plus your friend told you that your villagers were constantly getting in their way even with Shanks going so far as to seemingly trip them but eventually your friend just straight up left your town like high tailed it

You tried to ask them what was wrong but they refused to elaborate or even speak to you for long periods of time and you had no clue what was wrong as even trying to ask your villagers questions, they wouldn’t answer and simply said that they thought your friend was weird

As the year in the game progressed, you went through multiple different holidays and events that were all pretty fun with Halloween being your favorite as all the characters dressed up in their own fun outfits but Christmas was a bit strange as Shanks almost seemed to be trying to get your character drunk

Eventually New Years came around and there was a big celebration for it in the town square, it was a ton of fun as all of your villagers hung around and had tons of fun until there were mere seconds left on the countdown to the New Year

Once it was the New Year, you had your character set off some party poppers only to notice that Benn was coming directly towards your character and as soon as he was close enough a cutscene started

Suddenly things were much more detailed as Benn pulled your character close and kissed them deeply in a very detailed scene, you were in shock and it only grew when Shanks came up behind you and began to bite on your characters neck

The sounds of kissing were prominent as they came through your speakers but not only that, you could hear some cheering and whistling coming through the speaker as well, you could only stare at the screen though as eventually Benn pulled back with a string of saliva between your character and him

“I love you so much, stay with us forever… Never leave…”

“I’m with Benn, you should stay here forever… Forever with us… We make you so happy after all, don’t we? Why would you wanna leave?”

The cutscene finally ended and you were returned to normal gameplay, a text box popped up telling you that your character had entered a relationship with Benn and Shanks. It was a little weird to you as you didn’t even know that you could do that and you should have at least had an option to decline but regardless you kept playing

Continuing on with the game after entering a relationship with them made things a bit odd as the game made your bed bigger and had it so that the two characters moved in with you which wasn’t too bad as they wouldn’t change much in your house

However they did usually stop your character and your character eat breakfast with them before leaving which usually sparked a conversation at the table with them

You also gained a new option for interaction with them which was kiss which would usually result in a rather passionate scene although you also noticed that when you had your character go to bed to save while one of them was in bed then there was an option for “Spend some time with Benn/Shanks” below Save the Game

You selected it out of curiosity once only for the screen to fade to black only for it to fade back on a rather graphic scene that made your eyes go wide and your jaw drop, the scene was of your character on all fours being pounded from behind by Shanks as they had their mouth fucked by Benn

Loud moaning came through your speakers along with the clear sounds of sex like a creaking headboard and loud wet slaps, it was graphic and detailed but what truly caused you to pull yourself away was when you started imagining that was you

You swore that you could practically feel them pounding your holes and you almost let out a moan but you came back to reality and after hearing Shanks moan out your name, not your characters name but your name and how you felt so good. You shut the game off without saving

Attempting to just forget about the game and continue on with your life didn’t work as the scene remained ingrained in your head no matter how hard you tried

You got such an urge to play the game again that you even tried to throw the game away but you couldn’t as it wouldn’t come out of the console

Eventually you couldn’t resist anymore, you picked up the console one late night and decided to play one last time but as soon as you turned it on. The game glitched and you found yourself in a waking nightmare after a bright flash of light

You were inside of your characters house laying on the bed, Shanks and Benn weren’t currently home which was nice but you attempted to pinch yourself awake hoping it was only a nightmare but it didn’t work and you soon heard the front door open

They were home and you had a feeling of dread, you tried to pretend to be asleep but it didn’t work as you were found out almost immediately

Both of them were overjoyed to see you up as you had been gone for so long and based on the way that things looked, you wouldn’t be able to leave them ever again as you weren’t beyond the screen anymore. You were in the game with them forever

An attempt to escape didn’t do anything as they caught you and told you that you were here to stay forever and seeing as their last attempt to enjoy some alone time with you got interrupted, they figured that they could enjoy some right now

Maybe expand the town just a little bit if you knew what they meant by that

Trying to fight was no use as your clothes were quickly pulled off and they began to prep you as they talked about how they’ve been trying to get you to love them ever since you had started playing the game and turned on Immersive Interactions

They simply couldn’t take their eyes off of you and they wanted to stay with you forever but seeing as they couldn’t enter the real world, they would have to hope that you could be brought to them

And sure enough, here you were now. You were here and never leaving and as they made passionate love to you all night long, you prayed that this was just a nightmare and hoped to god that you would wake up soon

As the months rolled by and your belly began to grow with a life inside of it, you still had hope that you would wake up and that everything would be ok

When your water broke while you were visiting with Yassop and Banchina, you still had hope that you would wake up very soon

But when you sat on a bed with Shanks holding your hand and encouraging you as Benn held your other hand and helped instruct you when to push. You officially lost all hope

And watching as your newborn daughter, Uta blissfully nursed from you without a care in the world as your husbands celebrated that you were a family

You knew that you were going to be here forever

I’ve been reading your comic. I really like the concept of the scrapped vessel from the beginning of Deltarune actually being in that universe but having to start life from scratch. It’s quite interesting and I can’t wait to see where the story goes! I hope I’m interpreting it correctly :)

Heyy, no problem! Drawing your character was a pretty fun exercise, it helped me with my artblock.

The story of my AU for now is actually one of the player re-obtaining their vessel because of the regret they feel for possessing Kris. There's more layers to that but I'll keep that a secret for now and let the story play out ;)

Their vessel is not sentient in this story, so the protagonist is the player, and the player only. Or as I nicknamed him "Poncho." I will however reveal his name later on in the story so stick around for that too.

i'm glad you like the full penguin dededesign; quite a few folks seemed to enjoy that actually and i was pleasantly surprised! i haven't drawn that much of most characters besides bandee, to be fair, but the next comic will be about dedede and should answer some of the other questions i've been getting about him too!

i should say that it's likely the totally full penguin design won't make it for the comic, because it's hard to draw the sheer length of their bills from many angles or having the expressiveness i need for dedede, and i really only did that one for funsies. but i'll hopefully find a nice compromise!

this is quite perceptive of you to notice and it's definitely something that occurs in the timeline. due to galacta knight's influence (and kirby's altered reputation) visitors and threats- both international and intergalactic- start to think twice before risking an approach.

alas, because daroach appears in the timeline before galacta knight's switch-in occurs, he would already be in contact and friendship with kirby. that unfortunately means he'd meet the same fate as the rest of kirby's existing allies.

@i-only-created-this-to-read a little similar to the above ask, yes, the intergalactic picture of popstar is definitely changed by the presence of a violent, otherworldly warrior and a ruthless hero. i also answered your questions about necrodeus previously and am not sure what else to say about him.

i have confirmed before that dedede is not dead, and more about his scenario and overall role in the plot will be revealed in comics. but i will say that he's a smart guy, despite his silliness, and a loving king. he absolutely came to the same conclusion about the frequency of his own possessions as well, through no small amount of heartbreak.

i definitely headcanon the Lor as sentient; in the light novels, bandee also speaks to her fairly directly. i actually headcanon all the Ancient artifacts as having an amount of sentience (this seem in line with what we've seen in canon, so i don't think it's a reach) and the lor herself seems especially benevolent to me.

our headcanons for the novas are different to yours, though that plays more of a role in the clockwork heart au. i quite enjoy your theories about how the ending might go and you've definitely picked up some details!! i won't confirm or deny anything, but i will say the lor is present in the AU, and that magolor has enough knowledge of artifacts to know that a wish on a wishing star could be a viable solution.

it took a while for folks to start asking me about magolor actually, which i found kind of amusing because he's the deuteragonist (second protagonist, after bandee) of the au!

i do definitely think that canonically magolor lives on the lor starcutter; though he does say he wants to buy a holiday home on popstar! however in awtdy, unlike the dream land four three, magolor's entire timeline is trashed from the get-go by galacta knight's arrival

some of these answers will take me longer to get to as i'll provide them in comics (it should be a fun reveal at least), but i will say: he hates popstar. he hates it there. he'd give just about anything to be anywhere else.

until he meets bandee, of course.

the rest of popstar fare a little better or a little worse at various points in the au, kind of like in the mainline canon timeline. for the most part, galacta knight isn't that interested in most of popstar. he enjoys living there, it's peaceful and undeniably pleasant, and frankly he'd like to continue doing so!

he can be convinced (by kirby, and the maintenance of the lie) to perform care to some of its citizens when necessary- such as rebuilding after a crisis. but in general he minds his business in dream land, and occasionally off-world or interdimensionally with kirby and bandee on missions.

whispy, who also keeps to his own in the woods and is just a cantankerous old tree, is probably fine. at least up until star allies, when he, you know. gets possessed.

@torrentialchaos2 that would be a different story to chrysalis au, i think! one i could write, but haven't. chrysalis au is specifically about bandee, you can't really extract him from it? 😭 but if morpho possessed magolor it would depend on a lot of things: like what is everyone's relationship to him when it happens? i think even when he comes back from his redemption arc, magolor and the gang are friends, but it's not the same as bandee, who is a core member of their unit.

we've already seen what happens when magolor gets possessed and kirby has to Beat His Ass to get him back to normal. and we've seen that when morpho possesses others who are capable fighters, kirby doesn't hold back. so maybe that? magolor is a magical little guy; he's got a better chance of getting spat back out unscathed.

i could however probably write a version of this for magicapple if i wanted, which would be much more emotionally pulverising lmao

i also do have some backstory/lore for starstruck dee, which i'll hopefully get to soon as well. i would say that she is... very much related to stars and the cosmos, yes.

i view dedede as having a mentor-like dynamic with bandee as well as with kirby, and they all care about each other very much! but (especially because they are all adults in my hc) he also absolutely trusts them to handle themselves.

SECRET QUARTET UPDATES

I was waiting impatiently for the poll to finish and dare I say, I have never been more excited for the next part- especially because this is set after the first installation. Now, one thing I'm sure all of you are curious about: can ghosts be stanked?

Much like what I said about Akumas, no- this simply isn't possible for, well, a few reasons but that will come later, so you'll just have to wait! (as for halfas, the answer to that question is also being left ambiguous-)

This does mean that whatever happens in the next part won’t be involving ghosts being affected by the Sorcerer’s magic- now whether ghosts exist inside Norrisville, well, we’ll just have to see won’t we? I do like to think ghosts aren't a common phenomenon everywhere because of other reasons

For now, these are my current forming ideas. Either Danny ends up in Norrisville somehow (which would be partially dependent on the timeline-), or Randy is sent to Amity Park as a result of... other reasons. This is a bare minimum draft to say the least and I have some stuff that will be included immediately and the rest will be added in as the series continues!

I will say that Danny’s going to be having a time if he’s the one to arrive in Norrisville. Poor Danny gets to go through the burner during a lot of this- he is one of the protagonists after all hahaha

Though I decided to use this time to explain some of the lore and information about this AU people are still interested in (which I’m admittedly surprised about-), so without much further ado- let's get right to the point!

Also, one last thing before I start: this takes place before the season two finale of RC9GN for what I feel is kind of obvious, but moving on-

Lore Dumping + Headcanons

Something that was canonized in the first installation: not all heroes are aware of another- due to certain restrictions and, well, some magic of the universe... a lot of the organizations basically were sanctioned off to specific locations as a way of maintaining the peace. What this means is that clashing will go down at first- perhaps not between the main heroes but say, a certain council with other groups but we'll get to that later

Norrisville does not have a high concentration of ghostly energy since there isn't a portal (natural portals are an entirely different story; i'm more referring about something like what's at fenton works-). This didn't really need to be said but just in case! I'm shoving it into the lore dump anyway

Randy faces a lot of pressure just for being the Ninja but without the added knowledge of other heroes- he's genuinely living the best life and having fun while still being the protector, though we all know this won't last. I also will say this is going to explore the whole thing with the tengu but I'm not sure how much just yet-

Could someone else be shloomped inside the Nomicon? Hahaha, you'll find out later- I thought about saying it, but decided to hold myself back for now. I will say this: the Nomicon is still a sentient being and, well, who is able to go inside it (since technically, in one of the episodes, Howard did but I'm not sure how far into the RC9GN 'canon' it's set in-) has some rules to it

Danny and Randy are obviously different in terms of personality- having them work together is going to come with its challenges, but I do think they'd have a good partnership going. They just have to get comfortable with one another

I'm trying to keep myself from saying things about future installations lol, but- I will say that so far, Vlad has zero connections to Norrisville. This one-shot is going to be a little different and that's all I'm going to say for the time being

If anyone's curious about the difference in strength between Danny and Randy- well, their methods of combat are different so, do with this what you will for now :)

As of right now, there are no confirmed ships within the series! To be honest, I don't fully see it as important but it may show- just... not right this second

Yess I encourage you guys to make ocs/ y/n(s) for this au, it’s suppose to be this fun lil story game type of situation. Also how you interact with the characters would affect your route/ journey :pp, the core situation being sun and moon (protagonists) who are in a toggle with finding who they are in this city. Especially sine they are almost done paying their debt, which means they get a choice of leaving the life of crime and try to live a normal life in this chaotic city, or give in to the chaos and bathe in the riches of being a higher class assassin.

“Game” rules under the cut:

Friends? Lovers? Rivals? (Relationships)

Friendship-You can just go the chill route of friends, its pretty self explanatory, befriend the two and choose a path together, hang out, visit one another, all that, the oc can be any age in this route. (Preferably over the age of 12 😂)

Romantic- For the simps yahoo! You can move in together, own a cat or something, idk. Eclipse, sun, moon and even 8ot are options. Poly relationships are available for sun moon and 8ot, but eclipse only wants u to himself if u want him 💀 (also oc has to be over 18 for obvious reasons)

Rivals- 😏 this would be interesting, depending on how evil you wanna be with it, but remember if the oc is going to physically fight em, these dudes are tough cookies and wont go down that easily

City environment: basically very chaotic, it’s a beautiful looking place with glass buildings that reach the clouds and vibrant hologram lights but the police system is even more corrupt than real life, and crime is everywhere. There is heavily armed flying tanks (basically police cars) that will not hesitate to shoot and kill anyone that disobeys them.

Citizens: there are two life forms, one being humans and the other being sentient robots. Cyborgs still fall into the human category. Most humans have some sort of cybernetic enhancement in this city. It’s hard for sentient robots without a human owner to find jobs so they usually get involved in crime and hide out in the shadows, scavenge to survive and all that.

Some things I've been thinking about since I saw your self aware au:

1. It reminds me of a manhwa called Pick Me Up, in which the protagonist is taken into the game he played but as one of the playable characters, and a Megaman's mini film in which he is self-aware, but he goes to the real world, and not the players to the world of game

2. It's only now that I realized that I really wanted to see more stories like this on the internet, mainly because I'm trying to write this kind of genre

3. I thought the possibilities you showed for self-awareness were really cool, the one I found most interesting was the human in the world of cookies, and still being human, it's fun to imagine the misunderstandings that the difference in species would bring, such as the fact that the cookies are much lighter than expected

Aw this is cool! I've always loved robots/AI and stories were they become sentient or learn what its like to be "human", whatever that means for them, for better or worse, and I always say its great to have more stories like that! :D

With the self aware crk au, I was inspired by a lot of posts in the crk tag as well as games like ddlc. Its like a type of cosmic horror that I find so delicious hjgfhg finding out the world you live in is flat and tiny. Heroic Cultivation AU: So I was reading through this and saw your mentioning about being unsure if AfO would go through with any of the cultivation stuff because he's lazy as heck. I also saw you mention that you weren't too familiar with xianxia stuff. To be clear, the first point is true and the second is fine, but I know a little bit and wanted to add in because I think AfO going demonic cultivator could in fact work. If you already know this, then sorry for bothering you with the long message.

So to start, in most xianxia there's standard cultivation as theory, which is the whole philosophy-and-slow-meditation-self-reflection-and-growth path to immortality. This tends to exist as the background foundation of How Cultivation Is Supposed To Work. Then there's cultivation as practiced, which is borne of cultivators (and xianxia authors) looking at that theory and going "man, that's gonna take so long to get me immortality and ultimate power, and it's gonna be so boring just sitting around meditating to get there instead of doing anything... what if instead I took some really good drugs to get high as a kite, dosed myself with steroids on top of that, and did some nice feng shui in order to cut that down? Couple decades, maybe a few centuries tops, instead of taking thousands of years or something. Yeah, that sounds good." This both feels more proactive, even if it's against the strict spirit of things, and it lets the xianxia author have the characters actively doing stuff with arrogant characters competing for the best resources to ascend or what-have-you to provide conflict. It also dodges out having prolonged sessions of meditating in a cave for power being something other than a background aspect - there will be characters doing it, but unless they're strong enough to astral project or something then odds are you won't have those characters really involved in the plot actively because they're spending 99% of their time, well, in a cave. So already we're more in AfO's lane of finding shortcuts to save time and effort on the road to power.

Then there's demonic cultivation. Now, exactly what demonic cultivation actually means isn't the most well-defined beyond the association with demons and badness, I don't think all xianxia stories even have it as a distinct thing, but if present it'll usually be considered a cheat and power shortcut even compared to normal-cultivation-as-practiced. Practitioners of demonic cultivation will be making deals with demons if demons actually exist and are sentient and communicative in the setting, stealing artifacts of malevolent and cursed power and the REALLY wild drugs, stealing power from others by draining their life force and using their bodies as grisly ritual components, reanimate corpses, backstabbing allies, re-absorbing the passive malevolence and resentment generated by their evil deeds in a downward spiral of cruelty and power, and generally just doing Very Bad Things to get power even faster. If the story's protagonist is a normal cultivator of some stripe then the demonic cultivator is a convenient enemy, whose path to power provides easy moral superiority and maybe a message about seeking strength "The Right Way". If the protagonist is a demonic cultivator then they probably won't engage in the more morally repugnant possibilities (except maybe against "deserving targets," maybe - the morality can sometimes get kind of protagonist-centric, who'd have thunk it), they'll probably be motivated by revenge against a cultivator who is still considered "righteous" despite however the protagonist feels wronged, and there may be some flavoring of calling out how in practice normal cultivators still commit violence against others to hurry toward power and the demonic cultivator is only a problem for using unapproved methods. (How well that lands does require interrogating what the story's version of demonic cultivation actually is, of course. Just redirecting existing bad juju energy to achieve good deeds? There may be a point there. Running the Orphan Juicero 5000 to get the power to conquer an empire? Hold on a minute, there.)

The thing is, especially noticeable as this was being typed out, a lot of those things are pretty similar to stuff AfO is already doing. Reanimating corpses and creating minions from what's left from others? Hello Nomu. Reveling in the cruelty of his actions? You bet. Stealing power from others to get stronger, faster? Heck, that's his whole Quirk right there. All that needs to change is for him to learn enough about cultivation to do that in the direction of cultivation, instead of just Quirks and mundane society. I'm imagining a realization something like this:

AfO: "So I could try engaging in slow and inactive self-reflection to access that brat's power. Cringe."

AfO: "Or I could rearrange the furniture in here and take some good weed to hurry that along. Still too slow."

AfO: "Or I could go all in on this Demon King thing, drink the Airport Cultivator Jungle Juice, get gruesome with it, and really start cooking with gas."

AfO: "Yes, that's what I'll do. Garaki, make preparations for my new path to ascension."

Garaki, who's been spending the last three days frantically going through whatever sources on cultivation and cultivation manuals he can patch together without rest because he majored in Mad Science not Cultivation and all this is horribly documented nowadays, and AfO certainly isn't going to do the esoteric research himself: "Of course, sir."

My knowledge of Cultivation is in a weird spot because I knew about the Orphan Juicer 5000 in theory but I don't know how authors have put it into practice and how many centuries it shaves off of a Cultivator's training program, so all of this is quite fascinating

change my mind im going to let myself be 2% embarrassing and go over the surface details of my robot au

setting is in deep space where human life struggles to survive, but robots are mostly fine and kinda end up evolving past their initial programming and becoming fully sentient. robot and human communities do intermingle and co-exist a lot, and tensions vary from planet to planet, where you are in space/how plentiful resources are, etc.

most robots are as unique as humans at this point, though theyre still "born" from a basic faceless shell w base functional programming, but through learning + life experience they develop into individuals + give themselves names + make their own faceplates.

anyway the "main protagonist" is Asclepius, a very famous medical robot who has decided to retire and buys his own microplanet to build a physical archive of all the medical research he can find. The planet was originally a dump so no one goes looking for him there. He trades his medical services and copies of his gathered information for supplies, while also allowing scavengers to pick through the garbage as long as they leave him alone and bring back anything medical related instead of scrapping/selling it.

He finds Izou decapitated in the garbage on a walk, and after fixing him up and getting him running again Izou decides to stay and guard the place as repayment. He figures everyone who might have been looking for him assumes he's dead since he's been offline and away from major planets for months at this point. Honestly he considers the situation a win. his gambling debts are cleared, hes got a job, lodging, and hes out of that den of snakes that tossed him away like garbage.

Salieri crash lands from a neighboring colony planet that was caught up in a battle, he was given one of Mozarts arms as they were escaping and he installed it to fight off pursuers on the way to an escape pod. It could only fit one person so naturally Mozart bashed him over the head and shoved him in there. He's having trouble adjusting to the arm and its effecting his programming so he gets moodswings and sometimes forgets who he is. He wants to try and go back for Big Vengence but Asclepius refuses to buy him a shuttle in the condition he's in. so Salieri is attempting to repair a small ship himself and essentially re-crash back home (he's struggling to do this, hes a music playing robot with some emergency combat logs, but he's really determined.)

To answer your questions,

1. I’ve never written anything with a non-human protagonist (g/t wise) since it’s not really my thing, but honesty I’d try! I absolutely adore world building so looking into a world similar to earth where the dominant species are avians would be really interesting! With birds being very light and generally delicate and also incredibly varied in size, shape, and behavior, it would be super interesting to see how that could combine with transformers! I’m thinking about this now. Oh boy I’m thinking about this now.

2. Oh my god there are so many birds to choose from. Uh. Uh. Cardinal? I grew up in a place where they were relatively common and I always liked seeing them in my backyard, also I enjoy their symbolism.

3. It depends on the bot. I’d say generally they would think they weren’t sentient at all at first. It would certainly take some convincing for the poor birds to prove themselves if there weren’t buildings or avian-made things around. Even so, I think most decepticons would either ignore them or obliterate them immediately because, you know, decepticons. I think most Autobots would be like “oh awesome cool new alien life” but maybe not treat them as people if they didn’t know they were sentient.
