sebchal agenda anon here… seb does laugh a little at charles’s (mostly silent) expressions at first for the lower levels but then as he cranks it up slowly he notices how charles tries to. shrink in on himself and hide his face. he looks a little more alert at that until eventually charles just. looks up at him from his lashes. and he’s teary eyed. seb’s finger just hovers and hesitates a little over the controls to the sim, but the other drivers prod him on and tell him to keep going because they all either 1) experienced it themselves and want every other driver to experience it as well, or 2) just want to see how bad the simulator actually is. when seb cranks it up another level charles finally snaps, fully curling in on himself and desperately trying to hold back a whimper like he doesn’t want people to know he’s actually hurting, and seb’s protective instincts kick in so he immediately shuts the simulator off and rushes to look charles over. because he actually likes charles’s whimpers but never when he’s in pain. charles seems to be okay—of course, it was just a simulator—but then he looks up at seb with his big big doe eyes and. god okay whatever you say. so he doesn’t make charles do the rest of the simulator, lies smoothly to everyone to make it seem like charles actually did do it, and then keeps charles in his sight for the rest of the time. they’ll discuss this one in much much much further detail later.

aka this is seb realizing he has a soft spot the size of a planet for this boy who beat him in ferrari. charles has always known he had a crush so nothing new for him here. those doe eyes were definitely at least partially intentional though
