Shot in the dark, but does anybody out here know anything related to prop-making materials, cosplay, craftwork, etc, specifically for making:

a sci fi helmet, and a fake remote control for it

fake preserved body parts in jars and vials

a fake giant computer terminal (1960s ish)

a fake remote for the helmet

So basically, just asking for help sourcing things like visors, cheap but convincing-enough blinking lights that can be set up behind some cheap tinted translucent plastic of some sort (fake buttons effect), things like that. Websites, books, resources, videos, anything about production and set design and prop making would be helpful but especially if it points toward these specific ends.

Anyone got anything? My boyfriend's working on a short film and could use some leads for the practical effects, and literally the only thing about props that I know is that guy on youtube with the dad jokes

Moebius' failed attempt to create the first feature-length CG animated film.

The late & great comic book artist Jean Giraud/Moebius of The Incal, Arzach, & Blueberry fame partnered with animation company VideoSystem to create a CG animated film called Starwatcher in the early 90s. A short film was created to pitch it to film studios & investors. Had it been picked up, it could've been the first feature-length CGI film.

I found a YT upload of a segment in HD & a Vimeo upload of the entire short film, but it's sadly in a lower quality.

The California Justice Department released the educational short Auto Theft: Hot Cars, Cold Facts in 1991. The short about car theft featured Johnny Five and took place right after the events of Short Circuit 2. Russell Turner took over as the voice of Johnny Five. Not sure who this is, what it is, but it looks Duros-like. "Secret Level" was announced and apparently it's a short film series by different game studios, showing extra lore from their various franchises. I'm looking forward to December! Keanu Reeves is in one of the clips. I'm always down for more Keanu awesomeness.

And it looks like Riot Games (the studio behind League of Legends and Arcane) is submitting an entry. That's exciting. :D They have good stuff.
