bored out of my mind at work bc it’s the week before christmas and no one ever comes and i’ve cleaned this whole place top to bottom and i still have to fucking babysit it so i bring you….
what the jesusi would order from subway brought to you by your local sandwich artist (and why)
(no one will have ham or bacon bc THEYRE JEWISH. and don't fight me on this. i'm the expert.)
2012 bway jesus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he gets the philly steak because it’s the first thing on the menu and he gets frustrated because he doesn’t know how to work a subway without mary and judas (this happens more often than you’d think.) he gets it exactly how it comes on the menu but is dissatisfied bc he doesn’t like green peppers and didn’t realize they were there. he still tips. he inevitably fucks up every time he comes into the shop and ends up dissociating until it’s time to pay. but also buys a pack of the raspberry cookies for mary and judas!!!
arena tour jesus

a vegan, so he get the veggie delight! he gets it on wheat bread with no cheese (but the bread warmed!) and then he gets all the fresh veggies. lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, green pepper, and black olives. he also gets with olive oil, red wine vinegar, and a sprinkle of salt ✨but he WILL be getting a bag of crisps to go with it. a super chill customer who is really polite, but not overly bubbly to the point it’s grating. orders quickly and promptly leaves. tips, but makes sure to do it in cash so it won’t go to the company.
2k jesus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he would get the mexicali. it’s indulgent and earthy and rich. it’s a lot. and this jesus is a lot. also everyone who gets this is super nice and they know what the want. mexicali people are good people. he gets it with provolone cheese instead of pepperjack and has them leave off the onions and adds banana peppers. herb and cheese bread! because he’s extra! he does not tip but it’s bc he doesn’t know tipping is a thing at subway.
(okay i admit this is mostly bc there''s a guy who looks just like him who always gets this one even though its not on the current menu. i still make it for him. and that just has the vibes of glensus.)
1973 jesus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this dood is just classic. like yeah. this guy would eat fish. he would get the most basic sub you can think of. and it’s tuna. and everyone thinks he’s wrong for it. but he likes it, so it’s okay. he’s a whole grain guy and he doesn’t get cheese or sauce on it. he’s a cucumber and olive man. that’s it. he’s the type of customer that leaves the employees going “…huh.” he’s the type that just appears at the counter and you didn’t even hear him walk in. he will also always start at the wrong end. but super nice and easy. you learn his order and can make it as soon as you see him. super polite. not very talkative. he tips in coins.
2024 dutch tour jesus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sweet onion terriyaki chicken. the best one. he has the best taste. (this was my fav one before i went vegetarian.) it’s savory but also pleasant and light and it’s a nice little treat. and he deserves a nice little treat. i think he’s a flatbread fellow. for veg he would get spinach, onion, green pepper, and a light glaze of the sauce. maybe he would even add some pepperjack cheese bc he likes a diverse flavor profile! heated and not toasted bc he likes the bread soft like him! the type of customer the employees love getting because he’s always polite and kind (and pretty)! will also tip! this guy walks in and you'll tell your coworker “oh, i'll get him!“
50th anniversary tour jesus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a cutie sweetie pie. he just gets something quick so he can get back to it. he's been getting the same sandwich since he was a child and came in with the virgin mary. just a plain turkey and american cheese (get it for the american tour) on italian bread with lettuce and light mayo. never tomato though. if he gets tomato by mistake, he will politely pick them off and give them to someone else. but more recently, he's been indulging and ordering one of the soft pretzels with honey mustard to go with it. considerate and polite customer who will chat about music with you while you make his sandwich. (you'll slip him a coupon bc he's adorable.) forgets cash, so he doesn't tip but he will most definitely thank you profusely.
2014 Swedish Tour Jesus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
straight up just gets that terrifying footlong cookie. It smells amazing (so does he) and they're both intimidating as hell. he straight up walks into the store with his shirt unbuttoned and his sunglasses on. you've never seen anyone brave enough to actually buy this, but if anyone could do it, it's him. he would not eat an actual sandwich from the store. the idea freaks him out. your overly flirtatious coworker will try to ask him out. he'll laugh. then he'll ask for two forks (will he share with judas? mary? he hasn't decided yet.) and tips a surprisingly large amount that makes your jaw drop. you will be googling him to see if he's a celebrity afterwards. but no, he's just like that.

Happy birthday to the apple twins and I. As my gift for them, they get a story.
Enjoy.
508 years since is was born.
500 of those years I suffered. I was alone. No one had cared. Abused , alone, a folks story people would tell their children.
Why am I still here? Just to suffer?
"Boss! Open up! We need to eat eventually!" Killer yells through the door to the office, banging his fist on the old wood.
Damnit Kilz not again-
"boooossss plsssss! Murder isn't letting us eat until you do! Birthday rules or som-" Killer pauses, unfortunately remembering the day. It seems his memory is getting better atleast. Two years he wouldn't remember until Christmas.
Killer giggles, tugging the handle to the locked door. "oh bossy~! It's ya birthday!” Killer coos, taking his favorite knife out, running his index finger along the edge.
"don't  remind me. Tell everyone I will be downstairs in a moment." The king informs him, rolling off his  bed (which is a fake bookshelf that converts into a bed.)
Nightmare yawns, the balls of his feet hitting the floor and sending a static feeling up his legs and his knees locking. Of course... Two tendrils go to massage his knees and femurs.
This is getting ridiculous... Nightmare mutters to himself, the feeling  in his legs dying down. This was the third time this week. After a few more minutes the pain  is bare able and he stands up and walks to the door.
No need to change when you slept in your clothes.
In  the dining room the table was set with all of Nightmare's favorite foods and beverages. Wine, coffee, pie, pancakes, turkey dipped in the most mouth watering sauces and other savory things you would expect to see on Gyftmas. Not a birthday.
Killer groans, reaching out for the jerkey that was just out of reach. The result was Murder slapping his hand. "Damnit bunny just let me eaaaat!" Killer whines, his tears staining the vintage wooden table again. Killer was one of the few who had a seat just for him. Furthest from Nightmare where all the silver tear stains are.
"No kitty... We wait for mare mare." Horror says, brushing the fur on his jacket. He needs to look his Saturday best! Killer glares  at Horror, tempted to throw a knife at him. "aint talking  to you wolfki" He mutters, using the insult varient of the brute's nickname.
"c0uld y°u st0p." Error mutters, munching on a chocolate wrapper. 'To get all the chocolate goodness' he told Swap. Which was mostly true. Murder sits still, dissociating from the world.
"gods what do yo- oo wine." Nightmare brings everyone out of their brooding as he sits down at the head of the table, grabbing the bottle of vintage Italian wine and pouring a genorous amount into his birthday mug.
"Th€ gh0$ts 4®€ back. B33n 4-4n0¥y1ng m3 n0n $t0p" Error complains. Flicking away another pesky floating ded rat. Error is surrounded by floating objects. Plastic knifes and forks, a spatula and a dirty whisk. Error is glitching out alot.
Nightmare looks at the whisk, eye socket narrowing. "you made cake..?" He questions, growling softly at the batter falling to the flour covered floor. "we maDE CAKE?" Killer pipes up, grinning from eye socket to eye socket.
"ye-yes... T-teeth and Enough made it." Horror murmers, picking up his fork and fiddling with a grape in the salad. Murder looks down, a larger shadow casted on his face. Killer shrugs, reaching for the jerkey. Murder slaps his wrist again. "that vegan s[..]t is in the oven." Murder informs, stopping the recently vegan Killer.
"oh." Killer stands up, grabs  his plate and dashes to the kitchen to get his beloved plant based jerkey. Nightmare groans, glaring at the most mentally sane of the grou. "you know I'm not a fan of cake, Murder."  Nightmare says, dishing a healthy amount of turkey onto his plate. Once he finished dishing, Horror and Murder started dishing. Killer returns with his jerkey, mouth watering black ooze.
"hey you started dishing without me!" Killer when's and darts to the table to dish his greens. Who know all it took was a vegan teacher to get the dumbass to eat his fruits and vegetables? Although now he won't eat meat and sh[iz] now...
Goddammit Colour... Why did yo give him access to the internet...?  Nightmare wonders, chewing on his delicious turkey wing. Horror speaks up "It was Aliza's Idea... She's coming over later to celebrate too." Horror informs him. Nightmare stares at him, disbelief and silent disdain on his face. "your daughter... Wishes to celebrate my birthday?" the king questions, gaining another nod from Horror.
"Dream visit...ed. Brought food. I told him not to work on his birthday. Aliza heard." The brute further explains, mouth full of pie. Nightmare rolls his eyelight. She shouldn't care. He tells himself. "y0u® g1rlfriend  l3ft 4 ll3t ter. " Error says, handing a letter with a dusty snake symbol on it. It was the the stamp She made just for him.
She is his equal. His other half. Sure Nightmare is gayer than Icurus, but She is his. He is hers. He smiles softly, opening the envelope. Inside was a letter wishing him, her kraken, happy birthday. Even suggesting a date for the two of them and their little fetaherbaby.
Nightmare smiles, noting that he should write a reply letter later. Possibly arrange a flight to Greece to see his queen. He engulfs the letter in a burning flame of purples and blues. He continues to eat. The food is nice. Just how he likes it...
Maybe my birthday isn't a waste...
.
.
.
"Oh great guardian! Happy birthday!"
Again and again, those were the words he heard today. Seemingly a broken record.
"Great guardian, we need your help!"
That was a sentence he heard almost everyday.
You would think that after the truce Dream would finally be left alone. But nooo. It was great guardian this and great guardian that. It was tiring. He's supposed to be retired!
Dream sighs, getting a snake named Fluffy down from a tree. Lil Fluffy the anaconda slithers into his body, hugging him. Dream knows it is a hug because Fluffy broke his bones once and felt guilty as hell. Dream climbs down, looking down at his recent friend, a 8 year old girl who wears brightly colored hand made punk clothing.
"thank you Lemon Boy!" she says, gently holding her arms out so that Fluffy can slither back to her. Emily is one of the few Dream would want to go out of his way to help. He likes helping her. "no problem little Rockstar! Run off to your parents now, I saw them by the toy  bikes." Dream informs, running his hand down Fluffy's scales.
Maybe I should get a snake... He thinks to himself. The companionship would be nice. Maybe he could get a black mumba! Those get to like 10 feet long, I could raise it from a babe!  Cold things are nice things. The creature would love Dream's body heat. It's naturally high.
His phone pings. Then another ping. Likely the groupchat again. Wait didn't I mute that-? He thinks to himself, taking out his phone and opening his chats. It was Swap and Lust. His friends. Another ping came when Red and Edge messaged, then another from Cinnimon. All saying happy birthday. Dream smiles at the texts, replying with some difficulty.
The one day I forget my glasses... He sighs and puts his phone away, lazily moving his hand in a circular motion to open a gden glittery portal. He steps through and heads to the lounge, flopping onto the couch with a grunt.
"Someone's had a bad day." Reaper says, sipping his coffee. Dream lifts his head from the couch, looking up at the bringer of Bad deaths. "no s[..]t Sherlock." He says, catching the hot water bottle thrown at him "f[..]k you Watson." Reaper shots back, stretching his 3 pairs of wings.
"Still wondering why you don't want a private birthday party kid." Reaper informs, putting his mug down and grabbing his scythe, his 6 wings merging into 2. Dream shrugs
Dream says, clutching the water bottle.
Reaper chuckles softly. "awe, my baby boy has grown up since I found him." Reaper coos, checking out the baalde to ensure it is fit for reaping. Although it was never on paper, Reaper adopted Dream after finding him in that abandoned AU the kid o me called home.
He looks up at the demi-godling. "want to come with me for work? My gift." Reaper says, summoning the toy scythe he made for Dream when the child guardian asked for one. Dream looks at the scythe and sighs, stnwifng up with a smile. The scythe was nothing to be scared of, made of dead pyrike (frozen wood) and is smaller than Reaper's, but it means the multiverse to Dream "sure."
Atleast Dream can help people cross over to the underworld instead of silly little things he doesn't like.
(done. I the colors of their speech thingies represent the soul traits! Although I didn't have YELLOW for Dream. Hope you liked the insight on my UTMV)

Note
sophia do u have any vegetarian/vegan holiday recipes 🤲🏼
I'm so glad you asked, of course I do!
Tumblr media
Some of these things are from my cookbooks, so anything with a book emoji will be shown below the read more just to save space
Starting with desserts:
Vegan chocolate pie (Nora Cooks) - my favorite one to make for thanksgiving, my family (all meat eaters) loves it so much that I end up making two every year! It's really important to use the tofu that comes in aseptic packaging (the kind that's shelf stable) because the refrigerated kind WILL taste like tofu and you don't want that lol...works great in an Oreo crust or just as a mousse too!
Chocolate pecan pie (Isa Chandra Moskowitz)
Cranberry Spice Oatmeal Cookies (Isa Chandra Moskowitz) - these have great flavor but I recommend subbing butter for coconut oil so they don't spread super thin
Vegan Coffee Cake (Vegan Richa) - great for breakfasts! You could easily make them into coffee cake muffins too
📚 Pastry Crust (Isa Chandra Moskowitz's The Superfun Times Vegan Holiday Cookbook) - great staple pie crust that gets its flakiness from a mix of olive and coconut oils! I use this for savory stuff like quiches and pot pies too. Highly recommend the cookbook, it covers everything from Valentine's Day to Passover to Halloween!
📚 Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies (Isa Chandra Moskowitz's Isa Does It cookbook)
📚 Chai Spice Snickerdoodles (Isa Chandra Moskowitz's Isa Does It cookbook)
Savory Thanksgiving & Christmas things:
Easy Vegan Gravy (Nora Cooks) - really simple & much better than the store bought stuff
Easy Vegan Quiche (Jessica in the Kitchen) - more for lunch/brunch than anything, but I like to make a couple these around the holidays because they're so easy to customize & put together
Vegan Alfredo Sauce (Purely Kaylie) - you can put this on pasta of course but I like to use this to fold into mashed potatoes or make a gratin with during the holidays!
Green Bean Casserole (Isa Chandra Moskowitz) - made this one year at the request of a family member, it came out great!
📚 Maple-Mustard Brussels Sprouts with Radicchio and Pecans (Isa Chandra Moskowitz's I Can Cook Vegan cookbook)
Creamy Polenta and Mushroom Ragout (Good Food) - just comfort food tbh!
📚 Glazed Tofu Ham (Isa Chandra Moskowitz's The Superfuntimes Vegan Holiday Cookbook) - I swear by this and make several before thanksgiving because I inhale them - imo works better as a filling for sandwiches or on the side for breakfast, but could be used as a main dish as well!
📚 Winter Squash Cups with Wild Rice, Hazelnuts, and Cherries (Isa Chandra Moskowitz's The Superfuntimes Vegan Holiday Cookbook) - made this once and used cranberries instead of cherries!
Some Hanukkah stuff! which I highly recommend trying even if you don't celebrate Hanukkah, my family does a mixed holiday celebration so I keep these in my rotation for those occasions:
Latkes and Vegan Sour Cream (Isa Chandra Moskowitz) - can also dip in applesauce or top with caramelized onions if you prefer sweet!
📚 Raspberry Rugelach (Isa Chandra Moskowitz) - classic, chocolate, and raisin variations from her holiday cookbook
📚 Matzoh Ball Soup (Isa CHandra Moskowitz)
And I have to include a couple heavy hitters, these are for if you're serious about spending a lot of time in the kitchen and maybe want to show off a little lol - well worth the effort, but not for everyone!
Succulent Roast Turky (The Gentle Chef) - I haven't tried a seitan turkey that's come close to being as good as this one. Lots of time & ingredients, but well worth the effort
Anything from Miyoko's Artisan Vegan Cheese cookbook - the best vegan cheese you will ever eat. Requires a couple weeks prep because you have to allow time to ferment the base liquid and culture the cheese - I'm starting mine today! I made a detailed post about my experience trying this out here, and there's images with instructions for making the rejuvelac, cashew base, and a Boursin-style cheese in it as well! Of course if you don't want to do all that you can buy the Miyoko's cheese that's sold in stores, those are great too 😅
Peter Reinhart's Bagels (Smitten Kitchen) - if you suffer from lack of good bagels in your area, this is one way to fix that! Bagels are essential to any holiday celebration in my family so I figured I'd include this lol
Here's the stuff from the cookbooks!

Cheesy Spinach Quiche Recipe!
Tumblr media
New recipe time! This time, I tried out a recipe for making spinach mushroom quiche!
Tumblr media
The crust came apart easily, being graham, but it still came out delicious!
One thing I didn't realize while buying my ingredients was that the recipe actually calls for making your own pie crust, but I just went with a pre-made graham crust from a store. This worked out fine, let me skip the first four steps of the recipe and get right into making the quiche filling. when you DO pour it all in, the pie crust and tin may end up really full and almost overflowing, so I strongly suggest putting your quiche in a larger surrounding baking pan before putting it in the oven. I also did fine using pre-shredded cheese that comes in the little baggies, not wanting to deal with the awful mess that comes form cheese graters. And for the garlic, I didn't need to cut it super small, just make sure you remove as much of the flaky skin as possible and cut off the hard/pointy ends on every little garlic bit! With cooking they should come out nice and soft no matter the size.
Tumblr media
Shot of the mushrooms and garlic post-cooking. Yummy!
Tumblr media
It'll look like a big mess before it goes into the oven, but it comes out big, fluffy and tasty!
This recipe is not vegan friendly (contains eggs and milk), nor gluten free (contains a pie crust), but it is vegetarian safe.
You can get the recipe here!

Note
top five foods you'd feed glen powell. (this is unhinged, i'm sorry, i've had an entire bottle of wine.)
[ask me my top five anythings!]
His fridge tour in that Men's Health video was a product placement travesty - where's the food??? you live off Cali Water??? - as were most of those vague non-answers where he never actually mentioned what he ate. (My favorite part of those MH himbo videos is the what's in your fridge/what do you eat segments!)
Cheese! This "I don't eat cheese, it is moldy queso" business does not fly with me unless you physically cannot eat cheese for fear of death or veganism. The only instance of "I could fix him" I would ever employ in another human being would be to inspire an appreciation of cheese. Eat a pizza, buddy! Have some lasagna! Gnaw on some aged cheddar. Bake up some Brie. Let Halloumi into your heart. (I also don't understand how a person can be that into college football and not eat nachos. 90% of why I watch the Super Bowl is so that I have an excuse to make nachos! Also is his dislike of cheese limited to savory applications? Is he going through life not eating cheesecake? That's sad.)
Carbs for breakfast! I was tempted to try that sweet potato base breakfast situation he had going on but it did not look appetizing. (Maybe he's a bad cook?) Put it on a croissant! Have a classic bagel & lox sandwich with some nice tomato, capers, red onions. I need more hot men to shill for Russ & Daughters like Jake Gyllenhaal.
The product placement Doritos so we can hang out with Danny Ramirez.
A proper slice of pie, not that garbage Netflix handed him for Hit Man promo that didn't even have an egg wash on it.
I do not know what foods are on a craft services table, but what I'm setting down is chocolate bread pudding (I make the best) or Claire Saffitz's giant ass chocolate chip cookie from Dessert Person. (Each scoop is a quarter cup! It is the size of your hand but so delicious.)

The Australian Meat Pie: A Culinary Icon of Down Under
The Australian meat pie, affectionately known as the "Aussie meat pie," holds a cherished place in the hearts and stomachs of Australians. This small, handheld savory pastry has become a symbol of Australian identity, much like Vegemite or the kangaroo. Packed with flavor and rich history, the Australian meat pie is more than just a meal—it's a cultural institution.
A Brief History of the Meat Pie
The origins of the meat pie can be traced back to ancient civilizations, including the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, who used pastry to encase meat and keep it fresh. The pie evolved through the centuries, becoming a staple in medieval Europe. When British settlers arrived in Australia in the late 18th century, they brought their love of pies with them.
Tumblr media
The Australian meat pie we know today began to take shape in the 19th century. Pies were popularized as affordable, convenient meals for working-class Australians. Early versions were sold by street vendors and bakers, often filled with mutton, beef, or lamb. Over time, the meat pie became a fixture in Australian bakeries, cafes, and sporting events.
What Makes an Australian Meat Pie Unique?
The Australian meat pie is distinct from other types of pies thanks to its size, filling, and practicality. It typically consists of:
Pastry Shell: A golden, flaky pastry on the top and a sturdy shortcrust or puff pastry base. This dual-layer ensures the pie can be easily held in hand.
Filling: Traditional fillings include minced beef, diced steak, gravy, onions, and occasionally cheese or bacon. The flavors are rich and savory, designed to satisfy.
Size: These pies are compact, usually around 10-12 centimeters in diameter, making them the perfect snack or meal on the go.
Cultural Significance of the Aussie Meat Pie
The meat pie is more than just food—it's an integral part of Australian culture. From sporting events to school tuck shops, pies are omnipresent. They are affectionately referred to as "footy pies" at Australian Football League (AFL) matches, where they're often enjoyed with a squirt of tomato sauce on top.
Pies are also a staple at bakeries, with each establishment vying for the title of the best meat pie. The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition, held annually, celebrates innovation and tradition in pie-making, showcasing a variety of flavors and fillings.
Innovations and Varieties
While the classic beef pie remains a favorite, modern times have ushered in a wave of creativity. Bakers and chefs have experimented with fillings, resulting in an array of options, including:
Chicken and Mushroom: A creamy, savory option.
Lamb and Rosemary: Highlighting Australia's love of lamb.
Vegetarian Pies: Filled with lentils, mushrooms, or curried vegetables, catering to diverse dietary preferences.
Gourmet Flavors: Think Thai green curry, butter chicken, or wagyu beef.
The crust has also seen upgrades, with gluten-free and vegan options becoming more widely available.
The Art of Pie Making
Making a perfect meat pie is both a science and an art. The pastry must strike a delicate balance between being sturdy enough to hold the filling yet light and flaky. The filling should be flavorful and moist without being too runny, ensuring a clean bite without a mess.
Australian bakers often guard their recipes, treating their pie-making techniques as closely held secrets. The perfect meat pie can evoke a sense of nostalgia, transporting Australians back to childhood memories of family picnics, sports matches, or stops at a country bakery.

Where to Find the Best Meat Pies in Australia
While nearly every Australian bakery serves meat pies, certain places have gained legendary status. Iconic pie destinations include:
Harry’s Café de Wheels (Sydney): Known for its "Tiger Pie," topped with mashed potatoes, mushy peas, and gravy.
Four'N Twenty Pies: A household name, often associated with sporting events and quick meals.
Bourke Street Bakery (Sydney): A gourmet twist on traditional pies.
Country Bakeries: Many small towns boast award-winning bakeries with unique flavors and locally sourced ingredients.
The Meat Pie Abroad
The Australian meat pie has made its way beyond Australian shores, appealing to expatriates and adventurous food lovers alike. In New Zealand, a close cousin to the Aussie pie is equally beloved. In other countries, Australian-themed cafes and bakeries often include meat pies on their menus, introducing this Down Under delight to a global audience.
Meat Pies and the Modern Diet
As consumer preferences shift towards healthier and more sustainable options, the meat pie has evolved. Health-conscious bakers now offer low-fat, gluten-free, and organic versions. Additionally, the rise of plant-based diets has led to the creation of vegan pies that maintain the signature flavors of the classic.
Making Meat Pies at Home
For those inspired to recreate the magic of an Australian meat pie at home, here's a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
2 sheets of puff pastry
2 sheets of shortcrust pastry
500g minced beef or diced steak
1 onion, finely chopped
1 cup beef stock
2 tbsp plain flour
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 egg (for egg wash)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling: Sauté onions until translucent. Add beef and cook until browned. Stir in flour, tomato paste, and stock, cooking until the mixture thickens. Season to taste and let it cool.
Assemble the Pies: Line pie molds with shortcrust pastry. Fill with the beef mixture and cover with puff pastry, sealing the edges.
Bake: Brush the top with egg wash and bake at 200°C (390°F) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve: Let the pies cool slightly before serving. Don’t forget the tomato sauce!
Conclusion
The Australian meat pie is much more than a savory snack; it’s a cultural emblem, a symbol of shared experiences, and a testament to culinary craftsmanship. Whether enjoyed at a footy game, a country bakery, or in the comfort of your home, the meat pie continues to bring joy and sustenance to millions. As it evolves with the times, this humble yet iconic dish will undoubtedly remain a beloved part of Australia’s gastronomic heritage.
