If I needed confirmation that Bear is My Person? This is it. I get surprised whenever this happens. That when I share a fear or decide to be particularly vulnerable and show a specific side of me --- She's like...

"I like that."

...whereas a lot of people in my past have shamed me for those parts of me. My driven side? I've been lectured about it before. It wasn't a good feeling.

I guess I'm a High Functioning Dragon? Because technically I'm in the process of healing. That I have to be aware that even there's a part of me that wants to keep going, I have to rest.

What jumped out at me while I was talking the Kindle Sample, was I don't have those feelings with Bear.

(Actually I've got to amend that. Because when I read it to Bear...she was like...

"No frustration?"

....and I was reminded that I do feel those things. But as blips. That if it happens...she and I talk about it. It's not the majority of our interactions.)

Whenever I come across a book that pitches to help me find the relationship I want, I would likely say...

"Yes, please!"

....not because, I don't believe Bear is not My Person. It's more being able to make it easier for me to get close to me best self. I take this to mean that if I am able to be a better (healthier) me.... Then I'll be able to give Bear the space to be her best self too!

The idea is that as I love myself...

(I know! I sound a bit like the version of myself find the exercises in 'Mirror Work'!)

...more and more ...then I get more capacity to love Bear and have her love me.

(isn't that the idea about Self Love? Somehow the more we love ourselves, we are able to increase our capacity in loving others?)

I have to see when this was published, but if it is quite an old one, I get why Sandra might not have used the pronoun 'their' ---- as a number of writers are still in the process of adopting the phrase that recognises all genders instead of the binary (women and men).

With me reading a number of Quantum Manifestation related books, I was glad to be reminded that I'm not at a state where I feel constantly feel hopeless about figuring out the next step required to bring me closer to the outcome I desire.

When I got to this point, I wonder if it's about the company that Psyche has chosen. Though I'm not keen on the idea of being kept on my own...or me keeping Bear isolated. Maybe that's what was unhealthy in this whole myth?

I get that it's important to nurture a life that allows things outside a partnership, and I'm still in the process of trying to figure out the best approach to tackle Bear's fear that one day I might want to be with a person who could offer me a connection because they also write copious amounts of text or might be someone I'd work on a project with.

In that case...I would consider this person as someone that might be part of my Found Family. Depending on their openness to be part of that or if they just want to be considered a friend.

I also feel like the other reminder from the story is similar to something I picked from watching Season 2 of 'Couples Therapy' where Orna mentions the importance of sharing your anxieties with your partner. The idea is the anxiety is passed on to another person and each time that anxiety becomes less and less of something that affects the one initially carrying it because each time it's passed along between the couple there's the addition of perspective. Then at some point it would no longer be something that is weighing down on either person.

Another thing I found helpful is the questionnaire! 25 things that can help guide me to see what I am nurturing within myself.
