While Tatiana agonizes over votes, and Sandra over the missing campaign manager, Starling, unfazed by the effects of the magic portal that transported her, Mira, Morgyn, and her trusted bodyguard, Niko, arrives at the Gilded Pinnacle, ready to shine like the star she's meant to be.

Although Starling usually isn't the biggest fan of Tatiana's uncanny smile and unsettling demeanor, she appreciates the warmth and hospitality that she and Sandra are putting forth tonight, like proper in-laws.

Starling is really hitting it off with Mira's vampire friends, the Vatore siblings; everyone is charmed by her stories and her jokes seem to land perfectly every time. Even Morgyn isn't nearly as unbearable when Coraleye isn't around, and proves to be a lovely conversationalist when they want to be.

Mira is aware of tonight's agenda and how they're supposed to split their time between events. Though she'd love to watch her wife in her element all night, she knows time is ticking. Morgyn, ever observant, notices Mira's hesitancy and prepares the incantation for The Spot, giving Starling a moment to bid farewell to her new admirers.

Oh I have. so many. I'm saving a good chunk of them for a post (that'll eventually be finished) that details most of my “important” Wick headcanons.

Otherwise, here's a general list! ➵ Was actually quite tall for his age, towering over several of his classmates. ➵ Neurodivergent, but like Tim and Tom, was never diagnosed. This also influenced Mary's poor treatment of him. ➵ Speaking of Mary, her mistreatment of not only Caleb, but the rest, resulted in Caleb not being particularly fond of her. ➵ Grew up close with Tim, Tom, and Lillian. Benny on the other hand... the teenager always held his siblings at arm's length. This changed after everyone's passing. ➵ Braver than some might think. Every kid tried appealing to Mary in their own way, Benny with faith, Tom with obedience, Tim with emotions, and Lillian with being herself... but Caleb was slightly special. After realizing Mary would never see him as good enough, despite his athletic success, he became defiant in spite of his fear of her. Hell, his bravery isn't even exclusive to Mary. ➵ His favorite fairy tale was, in fact, The Juniper Tree. ➵ Had several friends during life, such as Molly Vogel, Sandra Reed, Melissa Ackerman, and Porter Butler. Although he started to forget some memories of them during the decades after death, he still misses them.

Strange year behind us, I watched move TV than ever, but visited the cinema at least once a month too (3x in January). The only thing I regret, that I haven't cried more and louder when All of us Strangers ended. Still couldn't re-watch it and since then I just can't listen Frankie's The Power of Love. I just can't.

Rose was a rock goddess that left the world, and her family, too soon. but she had quite the legacy left behind that went solely to her family. Julie wanted to follow in her mom's footsteps but she's trying to figure out what the best route is for her and not just bank on her mom's name to get there.

one of those attempts is to go to a less known club's open mic night, where she meets the lead singer of one of the bands and they get to talking about each other's music/lyrics and just really connect (so much so they forget to introduce themselves)

a seedy talent scout approaches her when she steps away to use the restroom but quickly makes it clear what he expects from her if she wants to move upward in the business. Before anything too terrible happens, the guy steps in "that's enough, you should know that's not how the scouts are expected to conduct themselves at Eats and Beats." or soemthing along those lines and the scout growls back "stop butting your head into my business, Patterson. I will blacklist your little band from ever getting signed"

OR SOMETHING.

but THEN

Julie can't let that stand. She is offended on how she was treated but she couldn't let scum like this man threaten those who try to help like that so she comes clean.

"what label did you say you were from, again? Jasmine Records? Let your boss know that your CEO Sandra will be hearing from the Petal Pushers management about the decorum of their talent scouts and their treatment of musicians including the daughter of Rose Sanchez"

and luke is there like whoa whoa whoa, i just wanted to help the wrecking ball of talent and beauty, this is ROSE SANCHEZ'S daughter?! Holy shit

and then julie has to go home and face her dad

from here, their lives go on separately, but luke can't get her out of his head and he knows the best way to get another chance to even talk to her.  SC needs to get signed so they go looking anywhere, follow any lead (not that they weren't already before) to try and get a record deal and move up into the world of those who've made it

and Julie's dad is well meaning but doesn't understand why she went to such a seedy part of town alone and refuses to use the resources left to her if she wants to follow in her mom's footsteps

and then Caleb enters the story

he's been talking to Ray for awhile, trying to convince him  that  Rose's songs should be managed by a label, his label. Why leave the day to day management to the family when they have other things to worry about?

Ray hasn't known what to do but he realizes that he doesn't know what he's doing and he needs to be there for Julie and mentions what happened to Caleb one day during one of their talks and Caleb offers her a contract right then.

"it's the least i could do for dear Rose and sweet Julie"

Julie is put in a strange position, not wanting to turn down such an opportunity but its also not sitting right with her

meanwhile SC get wind of a real exclusive club and manage to get booked there. It has a strange deal, you impress the owner, you get a contract right then, and it's worth looking into

they show up to the HGC and a man with piercing eyes looks down from a VIP balcony

they do it!

they get the deal

it's like a wish come true

life changes for them overnight

skip a bit forward, they are at the recording studio and while taking a break and wandering the halls, luke walks into Julie again. It's obvious that she doesn't recognize him (but unbeknownst to him, thats more because she is preoccupied by everything going on in her world, her dad had dropped the idea of giving a label management of her mom's songs) but they hit it off again

swirling romance?

THEN WE DISCOVER THAT CALEB IS BOTH JAFAR AND THE GENIE BUT DEFINITELY EVIL

Caleb tricks Ray into signing something that basically is a contract for Julie and all of Rose's solo songs

because she is still barely a minor she's "locked" in

and the guys discover that there is a downside to signing the first contract you get on the whims of a club owner, aka HGC owns all songs produced by SC and there is a fashion clause that they were unaware of

they have to help each other out but to break free of the contracts, they have to be willing to risk their music careers,

ultimately, the guys believe in being true to themselves and helping julie out

so SC and Julie expose caleb's underhandedness

Caleb sues SC for defamation and they get shut up real quick. also, Sunset Curve will never make music again

Caleb tries to do something similar to Julie but it comes out that he actually did some real illegal shit regarding her contract, and since she was a minor, it all got nullified and void and so she gets off fairly unscathed

But it's as all this is coming to a close and being more familiar with legalese, julie notices something interesting about the settlement with SC

they can't do anything about the songs already recorded and released by Caleb's label, but when told they wouldn't make music again, the word choice was something along the lines of "the band known as Sunset Curve will cease all current and future creations" but it never names the guys by name.

SO they make Julie and the Phantoms

experience/how many years:  i had a couple false starts trying to set up rp blogs for Samwise Gamgee from the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Wirt from Over the Garden Wall back in 2014 and 2015? but i just never really managed to get off the ground and start writing in-character for them because i was super heavily intimidated by the rpc and too nervous to approach anyone. finally in january 2017 i stumbled across a parody of Portal 2 on youtube called the Unauthorized Musical and discovered that there were already a handful of muns on tumblr who had picked up characters specifically based on that production and regularly hosted rabbit streams where they'd watch the video again together and welcomed anyone who wanted to join to do so. i noticed nobody was really writing any antagonistic characters against them so i wound up setting up a blog for GLaDOS and following everybody i met during the stream and that was essentially how i became hooked on tumblr rp. i've been kicking around on and off for about 7 years now.

best experience: there's so many to choose from, but i think i'd have to say my best experience was when i started writing Caleb. i was just fresh off watching Westworld season 3, i was actually feeling more compelled at the time to try and write either Dolores, Maeve, Clementine or Teddy but i felt like i wouldn't do any of 'em justice. i ended up making a sideblog to my old multimuse after deciding i would try writing Caleb, and that's where i almost immediately connected with melody/aworldofyou/copiesofme and was enthusiastically introduced to a bunch of other muns residing in the tiny but mighty westworld rpc. 🥰

rp pet peeves: one is pretty much the same as Sandra said; making a new main blog in the spur of the moment. exhausting all energy on curating a distinct aesthetic for icons/banners/promos/custom themes/etc, and then completely losing interest in a week or 2 without ever getting to write that character. and then more often than not the process gets repeated down the line until that person either becomes overwhelmed from having too many blogs to manage or too many memes to answer or too many starters to write.

i also don't particularly love memes that promote making rp into a popularity contest or seeking an almost constant stream of validation from other people. things like "send a _ and i'll rate your blog on a scale of 1 to 10/using a scale template" i try to stay far away from. arguably every notification you get on tumblr is an instant dopamine hit just like all social media is but. idk there was just something about those blog rating/character rating memes that made them feel more addictive to send and receive than like, taking the time to give someone your honest opinion on how you feel about them as a person or on their writing and characters and such.

another similar thing is reblog chains to the effect of 'reblog this if you actually like following me/seeing me on the dash.' i really don't like these. there's a level of self-deprecation and guilt-tripping involved and when people already feel awfully low and vulnerable to negative self image this just makes it worse. especially when people post with side commentary like 'oh nobody will reblog this from me lol.' and i don't think they're always necessarily aware that this is manipulative behavior, but...it is. even just the way the source post is typically phrased, it preys on insecurity and it makes me sad when i do see mutuals reblogging posts written like this because then i'm like. just sitting there thinking "i'm not a spambot so...if i didn't like following you or seeing you on my dash i would not be following you??"

other forms of reblog chains like 'reblog to give the person you're reblogging from a hug' or 'reblog this and say something nice about the person you reblogged from' are far better in my opinion because they don't inherently contain that same level of insecurity. they put the focus on lifting up and supporting the person you're reblogging from instead of centering on yourself.

plots or memes: i like both but i am very much a memes person because i feel like i'm not very good at plotting.

long or short replies: i don't really have a preference! but lately my thing generally seems to be letting the length creep up so my replies just get longer and longer over time. i never expect anyone to match me, but like. the one thing that would crush my soul is me posting like. 5-7 paragraphs and getting back a one sentence or one word response 😭

are you like your muses: i have a few things in common with caleb, one of them being that we're both neurodivergent and just trying to exist in a society where it is typically seen as undesirable to be classed as such. i stumbled across a venn diagram a while back comparing and contrasting common traits associated with ptsd and autism and it has given me a lot to take into consideration in the way that i portray caleb

A First Chance At Love - Chapter 1

Avery Chandler

My teeth were gritted painfully together as I stood outside for some peace and quiet but like always that was never going to happen.

Slowly I turned my head to glare daggers at the boy who as consistently bugged me to no end.

Growling I hopped he got the picture I didn't want him here.

"Oh, I love it when you growl. It is so sexy," Caleb husked stepping up to me and placing a hand on my chest.

I snatched his wrist in my hands and narrowed my handing warning.

"Will you just leave me be," I hissed.

But all he did was smile as he licked his lips suggestively.

"Oh come on Ave. I love it when you get aggressive," he smirked.

There were snickers and a few murmurs around us as I darted my eyes around so see a few older and younger wolves looking at us in disgust.

I really didn't care about what they thought.

I was more disappointed that they would look at this blatant display Caleb was showing in dislike when their Alpha's were two gay males.

I shook my head, shutting my eyes.

"Just give me a kiss," he whined and I snapped my eyes open to glare at him again.

He was pouting as he looked up at me.

"Please one kiss but I can't promise you that I'll leave you alone after that," he snickered.

I pushed him away and he staggered back but still caught his balance.

"I've told you time and time again Caleb that I'm not gay nor do I want to be involved with you," I growled at him as I stepped around him and walked off the back porch.

His footsteps were right behind me causing me to groaning in annoyance.

"Come on Avery. I know that you have to have some heart in that robot chest of yours," he said.

I stopped to turn to him and frowned.

"Excuse me?"

He skidded to a stop since he was jogging to keep up with me.

"Well it's true. It's like you can do nothing but kiss-up to Aiden's ass. You're always there. You only ever talk to him or give him the time of day," he shrugged and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm his protector Caleb. It's my soul purpose to be there for him at all times," I told him.

"I thought that was Liam's job. You can't let your life revolve around Aiden. What about... you know alone time with a special person," he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

Sighing, I really didn't want to go through this right now.

Or ever in fact.

"Look. It is none of your business what I do with others and secondly, you have a mate somewhere out there Caleb and I'm not going to let you ruin something so special between your mate and yourself. It's something that should never be tainted with, so keep yourself pure Caleb and you'll thank me in the long run," I said, turning back around to leave.

"Yeah right," he said, following me again.

'Oh my goddess this kid.'

"I don't want a mate," he said as he came up to walk beside me.

I just frowned at him.

"You won't be saying that when you see them."

He shook his head stubbornly.

"No. I don't want to be tied down to some girl. I would feel like I've been shackled to someone that I never wanted to be with in the first place," he argued.

"No Caleb. Oonce you meet them all the doubt and scared feelings you have will go away," I assured him.

He didn't know how lucky he was to know that his mate was somewhere out there waiting for him.

We made it to the side door of the kitchen to find it empty.

I trudged to the fridge and looked around.

I heard the metal chain that was attached to Caleb's wallet clank as he hopped on the counter but I just ignored him.

Spaghetti, that sounds promising.

I grabbed the container and stuck it in the microwave.

The only sound was the hum of the microwave as it rotated.

"Don't you find me attractive at all?" finally Caleb had to interrupt my sweet quiet and I closed my eyes exhausted.

"I have no feeling in that department."

"Well? Do you thing Sandra is hot?" he said, referring to one of the pack women who has a modeling contract.

She was remarkably beautiful and almost every unmated wolf wants her but I felt nothing when I looked at her.

I turned to him and looked him in the eyes.

"No, Caleb. How many time to I have to tell you that I am not attracted to anyone in this pack-house or out of it."

DING

I walked over to the microwave and pulled out my hot food grabbed a fork and sat at the table.

I stabbed at the noodles twisting them with my fork and bringing them up to my mouth to blow.

I didn't even jump when arms slid slowly over my shoulders, down my chest to wrap around my neck.

His chin rest on my shoulder and his mouth touched my ear.

"Aren't you going to offer me any?" he whispered, his breath caressing my ear but all I felt from it was annoyance.

"Caleb," I warned him.

Chuckling, he licked at the shell of my ear and bit it, making me jump.

"I'm not giving up Avery," was all he said before he walked out.

I just stared down at my food as I listen to his footsteps retreat.

Breathing a sigh of relief I finally bit down on my noodles.

That kid hasn't left me alone since he's got here.

Every time he would find me by myself he would try his hardest to get into my pants even though I always tell him there is no chance of that to ever happen in life.

I have one reason for being in this life and that was Aiden.

Caleb would only complicate my job.

Finishing off my spaghetti I washed to dish and walked up to my room.

There were kids running up and down the stairs as I stepped out of their way.

Sometimes I missed the alone time I use to have, when I would travel by myself.

Now I was surrounded by annoying people and a kid who won't get the picture that I wanted nothing to do with him.

I reached my door and laid back on my bed staring up at my ceiling.

The room was dark and bland like always.

I closed my eyes and focused on Aiden's life force.

He was happy as I watched the swirling pink mist behind my eyes.

His content energy seeped into as I opened myself to him.

I know it's not right but this was how I could go through my day.

I feed off his happiness to make the emptiness in my body fill to a certain extent.

Sighing I felt the pull of a small smile come on my face.

*knock, knock*

I frowned at the door as no one ever came to my room.

"Yeah?" I said.

Slowly he door cracked open and I saw Dom pock his head in.

"Hey man. It's time for patrols," he said.

I nodded as I slide from my bed.

Dominic... I've noticed a miraculous difference in his behavior.

When I met him he was always moping around the house or he was training his ass off.

When he had always showed signs of a rejected wolf.

The way his skin never tanned even though he was out in the sun for hours at a time during training and he never laughed.

I'm not a talkative person myself but he never interacted with anyone and if he did it would be just a one worded answer.

While at the mall with Aiden and Sadie... I met Jeanine, hearing that she had the gal, to reject her mate, even if she was human, it pissed me off and I had to admit... I did get carried away when I saw her grab Aiden and that nasty growl slipped out.

But the day Aiden came up with a way for them to get back together or at least talk I was glad to help.

And I will admit that I was all too excited to be the one to tie her up and lock her in the room.

A faint of a smile graced my lips... It worked though, Dominic was happy as ever with Jay.

He had his natural glow back and they had a pup on the way.

I guess their time in the old Alpha's prison resulted in that.

The sky was dark as we stepped out for patrol.

A few war wolves were gathered waiting for us to lead the way.

Liam had made it official that I was to be one of them and Aiden completely agreed.

Since Aiden thought I should I accepted.

"Team A... You're taking the right. Team B... You have the left. As for the rest of you, you are with Avery and I. Alright lets go."

Discarding of our clothes we all shifted and rushed in the woods.

The night cleared as my eyes sharpened and my senses heightened.

We had all spread out as I was alone for the moment.

I walked slowly, my eyes scanning over the trees never missing a thing.

I saw small animals running out of my way as I trotted... squirrels racing up to their cozy little holes in the trees with their families... birds sleeping in their nest... the soft whistling of the wind... the breeze ruffling my sandy brown coat.

My muzzle lifted in the breeze trying to pick up any unknown scents but it clear besides the soft relaxing smell of wild flowers and the earthy scent of the grass.

I trotted up to the border but still all was clear so I turned to go back halfway there I stopped.

My ears began to twitched in the direction of a twig snapping, moments latter the scent hit my nose and I growled in annoyance.

'Dammit,' I whined.

A brown wolf came out from behind the trees, his tail high as he strolled up to me confidently.

Growling, I lowered myself a bit in a defensive stance.

He gave me a wolfish grin, as he came up to me and rubbed his smaller body under my chin arching his back like a cat.

'Avery,' he purred repeating the process as he turned back around.

'What are you doing out here Caleb?' I snapped in impatience.

'Can he just leave me alone.'

'I saw you patrolling and I wanted to help,' he said now brushing his body down my side.

'Well... I don't need any... So leave.'

He snickered and pressed his muzzle against mine.

'I rather not,' he said, licking at my face.

I was a little worried why I wasn't pushing him off.

I usually always grab him before he touched me in warning but here I was letting him rub against me.... letting him rub his sent all over me.

I lifted my lip up and bared my canines at him as I pulled myself out of whatever that was.

Backing up I pinned my ears back.

'Leave me the hell alone Caleb,' I yelled in the mind link, he didn't of course. Why does he test me so?

I may be a really relaxed person, nothing really bugged me but there was about him that just irked me.

'Come now Avery play with me,' he teased and jumped at me playfully but I was having none of it.

He pawed at my face gently and I growled but stayed in my spot glaring at him.

'Caleb,' I said in warning.

He kept at it jumping around like a puppy.

I took a deep breath but it did nothing as he swiped at my face again but this time his claw nipped me in the muzzle.

The sting made me growl and pounce on him, pinning him on the forest floor.

I stood over him snarling in his face dangerously his eyes wide with sock.

'Stop,' I growled my teeth barred at him using too much power in my command.

He pinned his ears back and whined in fright... his bluish brown eyes were staring up at me in disbelief.

I couldn't move, as the aura of something I pushed back a long time ago, began to surge through my veins, for the second time in years.

'I'm sorry,' he apologized softly as his gaze searched my face curiously.

I watched him raise his head from the ground and I froze as his tongue licked slowly at the wound that was bleeding, none too badly, on the side of my nose.

I felt a light sir in my wolf as Caleb's warm tongue healed the small wound affectionately.

Our eyes met as he pulled away and I realized I couldn't look away.

Noticing I wasn't going to do anything he took advantage of the moment and licked at my cheek causing me to close my eyes.

What was this? My wolf began stirring again like he was curious as to where this was going but... no, NO.

I won't have that... I can't... I jumped away from him like he had burnt me and back up slowly shaking my head.

'Avery?' he got to his feet and I shook my head, still.

'Go,' I told him and his head tilted in confusion.

'What's wrong?' he asked me stepping closer to me.

'GO,' I screamed and he flinched at my tone, as he froze in his advances towards me.

'Damn it why doesn't he ever listen?' I whined.

Huffing I turned from him and raced off, leaving Caleb and whatever that was back there.
