Daily Chrisian Quote 6th March 2024
Darlene Cunningham March 06, 2024
God has planted in each nation sounds and colors and celebration that He longs to have released to bring glory to Him. These cultural expressions, when in alignment with the Word of God, allow people to express their love for Jesus from the core of their being. From the yoiking of the Scandinavian Sami, to the haka of the Polynesian Maori, to the arias of Italian opera, to the hip-hop of young Latinos, to the drums of the Africans, to the fan dances of Korea, and the Hallelujah Chorus of Handel’s Messiah. When the aim is to bring glory to Jesus, the joy is contagious. The celebrations of different cultures help all of us to worship God more freely!

Setting up Shaq, Sue, and a Stolen Screwdriver...
Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (3rd-7th May 2021)
Summer’s behaviour continued to climb further and further up the creepiness scale this week as her obsession with Sienna continued. Deciding to put Brody behind her once and for all, Sienna got herself on a dating app and soon secured a date with a man called Theo. Meanwhile, Summer broke into Sienna’s flat and whilst there, the phone rang. Realising it was Sienna’s date, Summer texted back, posing as Sienna, to ask if the date could be rearranged for an earlier time before pocketing a screwdriver as she left. Summer went along to meet with Theo and when the date was over, warned him to never contact Sienna again, flashing the weapon in the process.
Tumblr media
Sienna began to suspect that someone had been in her flat and she called the police when she realised that one of her screwdrivers was missing. However, when the police arrived to investigate (clearly an unusually slow crime day in Hollyoaks), the missing screwdriver had been returned. Once the police had gone, Summer appeared and came clean about her true feelings for Sienna, telling her that they were “two twisted, unloveable souls”. Sienna was stunned when Summer planted a kiss on her and insisted that it could never happen again. Sienna tried to put the kiss out of her mind and agreed that Warren could spend some time with the twins. However, this angered Summer, and she knocked Warren unconscious at the garage, meaning he missed out on seeing the twins. Believing that Warren had stood her up, Sienna was furious and told him he’d had his last chance. Later, Summer wrote in her diary, admitting that she’d been responsible for the attack on Warren and that she simply had to get Brody out of the way before she would have Sienna all to herself...
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Luke was shocked when his estranged Mum, Sue, returned to the village this week. Having not seen his Mum in several years, Luke immediately berated her for staying away for so long and demanded to know why she’d turned up now. Of course, Sue had an ulterior motive for getting back in touch, and told Luke that she was dying and that she was seeking reassurance that he’d be alright after she’d gone. Luke was devastated by his Mother’s bombshell and, despite misgivings from Cindy, insisted that they should keep quiet about his own illness. Cindy reluctantly agreed, however, Luke was left with some explaining to do when Sue noticed his shaky hand. Luckily, some quick thinking courtesy of Mandy diffused the matter and she told Sue that Luke’s alcoholism had left him with permanent nerve damage. Sue seemed satisfied with the explanation and was pleased when Luke and Cindy allowed her to move in. However, she made it clear to her son that she felt that Cindy was the wrong choice of partner, believing Mandy to be far more suitable.
Tumblr media
Elsewhere, Fergus and Warren overheard Shaq talking about his money worries and so Warren offered the newcomer a job at the garage. However, Shaq was unaware that he was being tricked and the pair soon convinced him that he’d been responsible for an expensive piece of jewellery going missing. Panic stricken, Shaq confided in his family and had Sami look over his employment contract, but it was watertight. Fergus insisted that Shaq would have to pay him back and suggested that he buy the Maalik home and rent it back to them. However, Misbah and Sami weren’t keen on the idea and insisted that Shaq would have to come up with his own way of paying back the money. Later, Fergus’ employee, Katja, arrived in the village and demanded to know why Fergus was streaming images of women from illegal CCTV cameras online...
Tumblr media
In other news this week, Tom decided to open up a cafe at the never before seen park whilst Diane returned from hospital and immediately started worrying about germs. Finally, Trish reluctantly took Marco on at the dance school...

Sort of BBS Superhero Au
It’s an idea I’ve had for a while but I don’t have the motivation nor creativity to write it (at least for now).
What I planned:
The basic story revolves around Jonathan struggling between his work as the infamous hero, Delirious, and trying to save the life of his father, Jason Voorhees, who has been in solitary confinement for sixteen years for the murders of countless people. Even more to add to his stress, because of his history of killing villains (who truly deserved death, Jonathan knew from his experience with his father’s work the difference between someone who could be saved and those who will always be trash) the media has portrayed him as one of the bad guys. If that’s not bad enough, the organisation of heroes, led by the notorious hero, Vanoss, believe him to be a villain and constantly goes after Jonathan during his hero work.
Jonathan does his best but there’s so much one person could handle. Then, suddenly a group of people claiming to be ex-villains fall into his lap and suddenly Jonathan is building his own (dysfunctional) team of heroes. Doesn’t help that those ex-villains happen to be the organisation’s past arch-nemesis that don’t know that the ex-villains had reformed.
His only salvation was the handsome man name Evan who visited him during his civilian job as a waiter. But, with the sudden threat of a real villain threatening his city and the whole world against him, not even that could save him.
Heroes/Alias:
Jonathan Voorhees (Delirious)
Evan Fong (Vanoss)
Tyler Wilde (Wildcat)
Brock Barrus (Early Bird)
Marcel Cunningham (WrktheBoyWonder)
David Nagle (Daithi De Nogla)
Anthony Brown (BigJigglyPanda)
Scott Youker (FourZeroSeven)
Ex-Villains/Alias
Lui Calibre (Mega Monkey)
Brian Hanby (Terroriser)
Craig Thompson (Formerly Maddlad/ now MiniLadd)
Ryan (Ohmwrecker)
Luke Patterson (Cartoonz, Delirious’ right-hand man)
Others:
Jaren Smith/Smitty (Chief Police, works directly with the heroes and is in charge of Kryoz’ case, the only one who isn’t an idiot)
John Keyes/Kryoz (recently reformed and on house arrest)
Jason Voorhees/Delirious’ Father (currently in solitary confinement waiting for his sentence to end)
Sami/Suni (Craig’s friend who looks after his dogs during his outings)
Squirrel (Delirious’ Co-worker and friend, knows of his secret)
Relationships:
Brock and Brian- dating for three years (want to marry)
David and Lui- just began dating (met on a dating website)
Craig and Tyler- dating for two months (met when one of Craig’s dogs got lost)
Evan and Jonathan- flirting stage (Evan fucking loves him)
Jonathan and Luke- Bros for life (brothers from another mother)
Ryan and Luke- interesting in each other/flirting stage
Smitty and John- interested in each other
Jason and Jonathan- Father/Son (very protective of each other)
Jonathan and Squirrel- co-workers (trust each other greatly)
Team Seven- organisation of heroes that protect Los Santos
H2O- the temporary name of Delirious’ Ex-villain team
Hero/(Ex)Villain relationships:
Early Bird and Terroriser- hate each other, Terroriser nearly killed him after trying to blow up a whole street
Nogla and Mad Monkey- cat and mouse with Nogla being the mouse (the least violent of the interaction)
WildCat and Miniladd- constantly try to hurt each other when they interact (wildcat is incredibly confused once “Madladd” disappears)
BigJigglyPanda and Ohmwrecker- hate each other but never actually try to hurt each other, usually ends with Ohm running away
FourZeroSeven and Delirious- genuinely likes when they face each other, 407 likes the banter (the only one who suspects that Delirious may be a good guy)
Vanoss and Delirious- Vanoss really wants to kill him while Delirious admires him (full of misunderstandings)
working summary:
Jonathan Voorhees has a very peculiar life. With juggling with his work as a server, keeping his identity as the infamous hero, Delirious, a secret, all the while trying to get his father, Jason Voorhees, out of solitary confinement; Jonathan really has his hands full. Not to mention suddenly having to deal with becoming the unofficial leader for a misfit of ex-villains. Luckily, he has help from an organisation of heroes led by the notorious hero, Vanoss, in keeping Los Santos safe. Too bad that the organisation hates Delirious with a passion. Add unnecessary feelings, secret identities, misunderstandings, and the fact that everyone keeps mistaking Delirious as a villain, and it’s a recipe for a disaster.
I sort of have an idea on where to take this, but for now, it will stay as an idea for another day haha
((Feel free to talk to me or let me know what you think about it!))

Facing Demons...
Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (5th-9th April 2021)
Toby displayed yet more worrying behaviour this week when Cleo’s abuser, Pete, made his return to the village. As the week began, Toby set himself the mission of tracking Pete down, but Cleo soon discovered what he was up to and begged him to stop. Later, Cleo feared that Pete may have returned to the village and her fears were confirmed when Pete turned up at The Dog. Pete attempted to convince Cleo that he’d changed and even admitted that he’d abused her. It was then that Toby arrived on the scene, and Cleo instructed him to lock the doors before giving him the password to an old email account that she and Pete used to use to communicate with each other. The pair discovered thousands of recent messages but Pete insisted that they were to his new girlfriend and that he really had changed. However, Cleo knew that he was lying and Pete soon did a runner, with Toby hot on his heels...
Tumblr media
Toby returned to The Dog a short time later, telling a worried Cleo that Pete had got away. The following day, Cleo was stunned when she came across Pete lying in the village. Pete was in a bad way and Cleo was horrified when he rolled up his sleeve to reveal that Toby had carved the word ‘predator’ into his skin. Cleo was later given more to worry about when she heard Toby utter the words “I didn’t mean to kill her” in his sleep. Cleo confronted Toby and whilst he insisted that he was simply having a bad dream, Cleo wasn’t convinced. It would be Joel who would eventually convince Cleo to give Toby a chance to explain and so she sought reassurance that he hadn’t hurt anyone else. Toby was happy to confirm...
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, it was Ollie’s 18th birthday. Luke was keen to build bridges with his son, and when Cindy announced that it was time that Ollie came home, Luke went to collect him from the Lomax’s. However, Luke was left worried when he discovered from Ste that Ollie had not been living with him for the past few weeks. Luke eventually tracked Ollie down to a garden centre, where he’d been sleeping rough and tried to convince him to come home. Ollie broke down as he recounted how difficult his life had been so far and his worries about the future. Luke reassured Ollie that he still had a future and encouraged him to get clean. Luke took Ollie home and Cindy revealed that she’d used some money saved for Hilton’s future to pay for rehab. Ollie was touched by Cindy’s gesture, but was clearly still anxious about something and he later confided in Cindy that, whilst he and Luke had been talking, Luke had forgotten the name of Ollie’s Mother. Worried that Luke’s condition was deteriorating, Cindy insisted that he see a doctor.
Tumblr media
Elsewhere, Sienna was plotting to get Brody back and snuck into Summer’s flat, hoping to find some evidence that would show her love rival’s true colours. Sienna managed to find Summer’s diary but was forced to hide on the stairs when Brody and Summer returned unexpectedly. Sienna listened as Brody and Summer talked and was delighted when an argument soon erupted between the pair. Summer told Brody that she loved him and was most put out when he failed to say it back, telling her that he felt it was too soon. Sienna was on cloud nine, believing that she still had a chance with Brody however, Summer, having discovered that Sienna had been in the flat, warned her off.
Tumblr media
In other news this week, internet troll, Cher, was being trolled herself, and Romeo decided that, as she’d suffered enough, he wouldn’t tell anyone that she had trolled Mercedes. Following Fergus’s orders, Brad left the village, whist Cindy and Mandy reached an understanding and Cindy agreed that Mandy could stay on in the house. Finally, Shaq’s attempts to get Sami and Verity back together backfired, resulting in Verity bringing forward her big move to New York...
