I certainly have my own concerns about the treatment of moo deng but um. well i think some of you may just be racist

#this ^ isn't directed at any post in particular but instead a lot of comments ive seen. but now im gonna talk about other posts down here #and prefacing anything i put in the tags here with DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH #but the biggest post ive seen going around rn about moo deng being mistreated and the general quality of khao kheow zoo is questionable #claims that the enclosure is mostly concrete seem to be false from all the sources i can find #the concrete section looks like its specifically around the feeding area which fits zoo care guidelines which specify that the feeding area #be a surface that can be easily cleaned separate from the substrate and is a surface present in other zoos #the lack of deep water also seems to be purposeful? older videos of the same enclosure show deeper water areas #and looking back through the news every baby pygmy hippo announcement from every zoo i could find mentioned periods where the baby had to #learn to swim and was slowly introduced from shallow water to deeper water as time passed #this was also corroborated by fowlers zoo and wild animal medicine volume 8 which suggests keeping the mother dry and then slowly #introducing water as the baby grows as a potential best practice #damn im treating this like a paper now. anyway the negatives #there are absolutely things that strike me as bad eg. public access to the hippos and the way the keeper interacts with them #for the keeper stuff in particular i'd really like to see input from someone who has experience as a zookeeper with pygmy hippos #the public access is something that i def think the zoo could improve on and even older footage from years ago shows people sticking like #selfie sticks and shit off the side of the railings and right into the hippos faces #however again the zoo seems to be making efforts to curb visitor behavior which is tough when you go from having 800 visitors a day to #4000+ and you can't remodel the whole exhibit right then and there #all this to say! just do your own research and take somewhat inflammatory comments on the internet with a grain of salt #also just to make it clear im not making any sweeping statements on khao kheow or the treatment of moo deng im just summarizing what i foun #based on what's being said in the most popular post on the subject ive seen.#for the potential like three people who will read all this hi :) hope ur having a nice day

I really like this ending. especially how it’s worded #my friend of war feels like it could refer to this new agreement they have #but also like Testament could be reminiscing about the days before they were a gear #and when they were in the holy order #both lead to the same conclusion though. they’re only friends when they have something to fight together #it’s very bittersweet but I do really like it!#yappin’

did anyone else’s public school system have like an obsession with the word/acronym “grit” and just like constantly shove the definitions of the words gumption resilience integrity and tenacity down their throats or was that just mine. either way what was up with that

ok so to preface my knowledge of buddhist culture/philosophy/anything is very limited

but going by the likely buddhist inspirations rain world uses for ancient philosophy, are the iterators tangential to the idea of bodhisattvas?

from what i could garner off of a brief wiki skim, bodhisattvas (at least those of the mahayana belief/branch) are those who are on the path to achieving awakening for the benefit of all others. The oxford dictionary describes them as capable of reaching nirvana, but delaying doing so in order to save other beings from their suffering.

in a sense, iterators are forced bodhisattvas: enlightened beings designed to never ascend, forced to remain in the hopes of bringing ascension to the ancients. They are designed to achieve awakening for everyone but themselves—self-sacrifice, without the choice that usually comes with it.

artificial bodhisattvas… hmmmm….

#wow i have a ramble tag now #rotating amaris as usual. don't mind me i'm normal about my made up guy #came to the wonderful (?) realization he's never really had to manage money. he knows what money is and he's handled money before #but he has never done accounts or whatever. his clan has an accountant whose job that is #treasurer of the clan lmao #and the inquisition obviously has people for that too #maker willing when he & dorian get to have an domestic (-ish) time together after everything #dorian is going to realize his partner has never done his own accounts #i mean. has dorian?? are they both looking at their money like 'okay how does this work?'#or more realistically. 'this can't be that hard. i know how money works!' <- amaris says that and he does not. not really :')#other things about him: if he's upset and trying to work through things he wants company #but it's either just chilling with one person quietly. or chilling while other people are there to provide background noise #the issue is he needs to determine which one it is #because if he needs quiet one-on-one having a group of people not including him in a discussion #is going to feel like he's not a person and he doesn't have friends. which is bad #but if he needs [asmr tavern ambiance 3h - special with your loved one's voices]#then quiet one-on-one is too focused on him and scrutinizing and pressuring. not good for working through difficult feelings either #what is rarely going to work is being alone in his room. but he still does it lol #also. i hope inquisition makes you choose between duty and loved ones and then it twists the knife about your choice no matter what #amaris is going to pick duty if it comes to that. and he's going to feel like shit about it #and some of his loved ones (cough. dorian) are also not going to love it. i need it to happen #but for now he's burning the candle at both ends to avoid having to pick :) surely that'll end well too #also home is his clan except not 100% (and even then they've settled in wycome so. not the same if he goes back)#but it's not skyhold either. kind of but not really #kind of sad but i think the closest he has to home right now is going on missions #the tents and his companions and nature around and concrete tasks #that's when he's barefoot most. that's the comfort sign. quiet and barefoot. that's at home comfy amaris #he's not running around skyhold barefoot. how unbefitting of the inquisitor!#but somewhere in the emerald graves with just friends around? in the evening after a long day?#he's listening to the companions chatter and he's barefoot and he's outside. and he falls asleep easily after

scream and cry idk but to NOT be smarmy i got two options: brute force your way through it with doodles or just take a break from drawing for a couple hours or days if you've been overworking yourself with drawing

Finallly got around to properly designing Demonstrator! She’s silly

#keese draws #oc art #oc #she’s a part of the story with lace and the others #she’s in fact a big part of the reason lace was able to find out everything she did in the first timeline #so Long story short she was from the very end of the time period that the creators were still around #well at that point only 2 of them were and the one that made her left super shortly after but yknow #but after the last creator died within their world the gods began fighting for power and control #the time god had seen what becomes of this and freaked out and tried to preserve at least one of the people of this era by sending her to #the future before he immediately stopped doing that since he has little control over his powers and was sent to a different time period #during that war pretty much every other original non god inhabitant of this world ended up dead #all the modern day magic relics are in fact pieces of these old inhabitants that carry enough of their original owners magic #to be used for casting purposes #the main party found demonstrator while they were working on their main quest and had assumed she was a relic before accidentally unfreezing #her and realizing this was a living person why was very confused as to what happened #but yeah demonstrator was mostly created as an experiment and she knows that so she’s eager to get the others to help her test her abilities #lace was very intrigued by her and her abilities especially given her concerns surrounding well. everything lately.#demonstrator basically just has shitty magic 8 ball magic where you can ask her a question and her abilities will show her some answer #these answers can’t be full on false but they can be extremely vague or even just complete nonanswers so usefulness carries #she can also only produce an answer once per question #although luckily it’s pretty loose on what one question is so you can just rephrase the same question a bunch of different ways if you want #so she and lace were still able to find out a shit ton of stuff and the rest is history #important to note that her role in the modern timeline is still pretty prone to change but I’m currently planning on her having also been #sentenced to the timeloop tumbler but in a different location so she and lace weren’t able to keep eachother company #I’m still working out what I want to do with her character tho I have ideas but nothing concrete #she’s existed conceptually for a couple months now but I have been mostly prioritizing the basic worldbuilding and story set up #but now that I have that done I’ve been slowly chipping at fleshing out the main cast so that means demonstrator too #I kind of want her and lace to be doomed toxic yuri post loops but again it depends
