The loft smells like cinnamon and nutmeg. It coats the air like molasses, sneaking under the door and into the hallway. Tommy inhales deeply as he steps inside. The door closes behind him and Buck turns to gift him one of those bright sunshine smiles Tommy treasured. He studied it for a moment, tucking it away in his memory in a bubble of amber so it would never be forgotten.

"You're early, sweetheart," Buck said, coming around the island and pulling Tommy into his arms. They kiss softly, a gentle press of lips. Then again and again. "I'd hoped to have the pie ready before you got here."

"It smells amazing in here," Tommy said, inhaling again. This time, the warm scent of Buck's skin accompanied the cinnamon. It made Tommy's mouth water. "What are you making?"

"Apple pie," Buck replied, turning and gesturing towards the mess in the kitchen. He kept his arm around Tommy's waist, holding him close. "Thought I'd go traditional for dinner tonight. Never made one before. It's got about ten more minutes."

"Long enough for me to do this, then," Tommy replied

Slowly, Tommy walked Buck backwards to the island. He rewarded each step with a kiss. One on each eyelid, one on the tip of his nose, one on the curve of his chin, two each on his cheeks, one on his birthmark. He let his lips linger over the strawberry-colored mark as Buck leaned into the island.

Then, finally, Tommy brought his lips down to capture Buck's again. He wrapped his arms around Buck's waist, pressing their chests together. He could feel their breaths syncing up, moving in and out with each other. For a moment, he swore he could feel their hearts beating in time. The sensation made him feel light, giddy, and so very at home. It made the next words out of his mouth all but inevitable.

"I love you," Tommy whispered against Buck's lips. He couldn't help stealing another kiss as their lips brushed together on the last word.

"What?" Buck whispered back, more breath than voice. As if he was afraid of breaking the moment. "Do you mean that?"

"Yeah, yeah I do," Tommy said. He leaned back enough to meet Buck's eyes, half afraid and half hopeful of what he'd find there. "Is that okay?"

"More than okay," Buck smiled, curling his arms around Tommy's neck and bringing him down for another kiss. This one had hunger burning around the edges of it though, for now, it was still soft and gentle. "I love you too."

Tears burned in Tommy's eyes as he broke the kiss to look at Buck again. All he could see was joy and happiness and, yes, love. None of the fear or doubt or regret he'd been afraid of seeing. A chuckle rumbled in his chest and suddenly, he couldn't not touch Buck's skin. Couldn't not be as close to him as possible.

Sliding his hands under Buck's shirt, Tommy splayed his fingers over the skin of his back. Buck's skin was soft and warm as he arched into Tommy's touch. They kissed again, Buck's hand sliding into Tommy's curls to scratch at his scalp.

They kissed for a honey-sweet eternity until a bright dinging sound brought their attention back to the kitchen. Buck broke the kiss with a huffing laugh, mock-glaring at the kitchen timer on the island.

"I should get the pie out of the oven," Buck said, pressing two more kisses to the corners of Tommy's mouth. "Five seconds then I'm back in your arms."

"Deal," Tommy replied, rubbing his hand up and down Buck's back once. "I'm counting."

It took a little longer than five seconds but, once the pie was cooling on the stove, Buck and Tommy laughed and caressed and kissed their way up the stairs to Buck's bed.

Later, they would share a slice of pie and ice cream, feeding each other bites and licking the taste of apple and joy out of each other's mouths.

I am going to be honest with you. I got this ask four days ago and I haven't been able to let it go. Your ask is one of the main reasons I was able to push through the fog that I've been in. I have adhd and depression, a rough combination. I barely have enough energy to work 40 hours a week and my days off are spent trying to recoup enough energy to begin all over again come Monday.

I've had the desire to come back and write but the energy to actually do it hasn't matched the desire. I am a firm believer that writers should write for themselves, that they don't get caught up in who or how many people read their stuff. Well, that mindset is something I still believe in but it's also a trap for me. If I'm only writing for myself then what does it matter if I don't write this week, the next week, next month and wow it's been an entire year already? How did that happen?

But I realized when I got your ask that if I can't write for myself then maybe I can write for you. Maybe I can write for other people. It's worth a shot and who knows how long it will last, but it gave me the push that I needed. It gave me enough energy to match my desire and I want to thank you for that.

Joker: I’ve never seen you with an orange much less eat one

Tara: can you just peel me the damn orange

10 minutes later

Joker: *handing Tara a bowl of just the orange peels* here you go :)

:(( genuine question though, do you think koreans actually know about the boycotts? im sure they know about the war itself and yes there are protests for it (but to be fair, protests in general are really common in korea), but as the boycott is mainly spread through the english-speaking side of social media, couldn’t it be that they just aren’t aware? like yes they are grown adults and they do have access to the internet, but if information on the boycotts/ those companies aren’t even spread on the korean-side of the internet, how are they expected to learn about it or educate themselves? of course if they’re supporting them knowingly then… :/ but it seems unfair to assume that koreans should definitely know about these boycotts, even if they do know about the war… wouldn’t it be better to give them benefit of doubt…?

the boycott exists in every language in all countries. if Italians know about it, koreans do too. you don't have to speak english to be aware of it. just because they're celebrities they don't deserve more benefit of the doubt or affection from me than any other person alive. doyoungs ig comments and bubble are invaded by people informing him of the boycott in all languages he can understand. all the people posing randomly with Starbucks cups (when they usually hide the labels - meaning they're probably paid to do so) are also invaded with comments informing them on the matter. Korean social media is invaded with information on the matter. koreans are suddenly aware of small issues such a insult left in the comments to be able to sue and yet they're suddenly unaware of something this big?

everyone is insulting the korean intelligence by assuming they're living in a bubble.

they're not children. they're not your friends. they're not your family. blind support makes no sense and any "attack" on the idols you love should not be a personal attack on you as a person and a fan.

you should like your idol because they're brave, wise, kind, and a source of inspiration. you should like an idol because they act right and are good. that's what an idol is. especially given their platform their actions are more impactful than mine or yours because they can impact a huge group of people.

you can do whatever you want to, no one is in your head and your home to know if you still like an idol or not but if your energy is now spent trying to understand an idol's pov and giving them the benefit of the doubt then you should put that energy into not being quiet about the Palestinians children murdered and people tortured, with no food to eat, no water, under constant bombing, being the victims of a GENOCIDE, whole the Israeli troops are feasting on FREE McDonald's in their tanks and posting it on social media boasting about how many people they killed that day

I imagine Marius villain as that he wants to completely remake pax to be free of austin & giann's influence, and if he can't, destroy the company instead. because what if austin & giann never truly got over carenina's death?

austin subconsciously holds marius to the Giann Standard:tm: and is generally more absent in his life, sometimes ignoring marius' achievements (like winning the art competition at his school) for giann's events.

giann despises marius for taking away his mother, and makes no secret of that. austin doesn't notice (austin never notices), and only the staff saves marius from the worst of the bullying. (he would have died when he was six, if someone didn't alert giann. and even then, the saving was for the sake of his reputation, not because he genuinely cared about marius surviving)

but that doesn't matter now. as much as austin disliked him, he has no reason to return to the job. and even if austin really does suspect that marius took care of his brother (because he did. the body would never be found), and every conversation they have are a careful dance around the accusation, he would never know.

after all, his name starts with m. m for marius. (m for monster. and what can they say when the truth comes out? what can they say to a monster of their own making?)
