Institutsmitarbeiter_innen verurteilen die polizeiliche Räumung aufs Schärfste!

Am frühen morgen des heutigen Montag, gegen 07.30, begann die Räumung des besetzten Institut für vergleichende Irrelevanz. Mit einem Polizeigroßaufgebot wurde die gesamte Senckenberganlage zwischen Bockenheimer Landstraße und Messekreisel abgesperrt, Absperrgitter weitläufig um das Haus im Kettenhofweg 130 gezogen und die ca. 300 Sympathisierenden mit dem Projekt nach und nach vom Gebäude weg gedrängt.

Die Aktivist_innen hatten bereits Hinweise auf eine heutige Räumung erhalten, um 04.30 morgens versammelten sie sich am IvI, errichteten Barrikaden auf dem Kettenhofweg und der Senckenberganlage und setzten und stellten sich in den Hof und vor den Eingang des IvI, um das Haus zu blockieren. Auch im Haus verblieben einige Aktivist_innen, um das Gebäude passiv zu verteidigen. Bei der Räumung der friedlich auf dem Gelände sitzenden Leute, kam es vereinzelt zu Gewaltausbrüchen von Seiten der Polizei, 3 Verletzte durch brutale Polizisten gab es unter den IvI Unterstützer_innen. Zudem wurde die Räumung von dem Franconofurt Vorsitzenden Christian Wolf beobachtet, der die vor dem Haus Protestierenden gegen ihren Willen abfilmte.

„Das Polizeiaufgebot und das martialische Auftreten der Staatsgewalt ist vollkommen unverhältnismäßig. Dass unsere Arbeit in der Art von der Polizei und Franconofurt kriminalisiert wird, macht uns einfach nur wütend. Für das IvI hätte es eine politische Lösung geben müssen und keine polizeiliche.“, sagt Sarah Schneider. „Von den Kosten, die dieser Polizeieinsatz verursacht, hätten mindestens 2 Jahre die Miete und die Arbeit des Institutes in einem Ersatzobjekt finanziert werden können.“ so Schneider weiter.

Sich von dieser Räumung demotivieren lassen wird sich hier wohl niemand. Die ganze Woche über wird es Aktionen für den Erhalt des unkommerziellen Kultur- und Bildungsprojektes geben. Morgen, am Dienstag, den 23.04.2013, um 18 Uhr wird am Kaisersack die X+1 Demonstration starten, für die das IvI schon seit Monaten wirbt. Am Donnerstag sind parallel zur Stadtverordnetenversammlung, auf der ein Antrag zur Unterstützung des IvI von Piraten, Linken und SPD Fraktion verhandelt werden soll, Aktionen in der Innenstadt geplant.

„Wir werden nicht aufgeben,“ sagt Oliver Sonnenschein, „auch wenn bisher wenig Unterstützung von Seiten der Politik kommt und die Polizei hart gegen neue Besetzungen vorgeht, werden wir nicht aufhören für selbstorganisierte Räume zu kämpfen. Ein Ort wie das IvI ist und bleibt notwendig in dieser Stadt und wir werden so lange weiter besetzen bis wir ein adäquates Ersatzobjekt haben.“

"We will not give up," says Oliver Sunshine, "even if so far is little support from policy makers and the police down hard on new appointments, we will not stop fighting for self-organized spaces. A place like the IvI is and remains necessary in this city and we will continue to occupy as long as we have an adequate replacement object. "

Am frühen Montagmorgen rückt die Polizei mit einem Groߟaufgebot vor dem besetzten Institut für Irrelevanz am Frankfurter Kettenhofweg an: Das IvI wird geräumt. Rund 100 IvI-Unterstützer finden sich ebenfalls ein. Die Senckenberganlage ist zwischen Messe und Bockenheimer Warte komplett gesperrt.
