Living with Swollen Ankles: The Everyday Struggle
Swollen ankles might seem like a minor inconvenience at first glance, but anyone who's experienced them knows they're more than just a superficial concern. This seemingly innocuous symptom can often be an indicator of an underlying health issue and can drastically impact daily life.
The Causes
Before diving into its effect on everyday life, it's essential to understand the potential causes. Swollen ankles can result from:
Prolonged Standing: Standing for extended periods can cause fluids to pool in the legs, leading to swelling.
Salt Intake: Consuming a diet high in salt can lead to fluid retention.
Medications: Some drugs, especially those for hypertension or certain pain relievers, can cause ankle swelling.
Injuries: Sprains or strains can cause inflammation.
Medical Conditions: Kidney disease, heart failure, chronic venous insufficiency, or liver disease can all lead to fluid buildup.
The Daily Impact
Mobility Challenges: Swollen ankles can make movement painful. Activities such as walking, jogging, or even simply climbing stairs can become a chore. This can limit one's ability to exercise, which has broader implications for overall health.
Shoe Problems: Swelling can make it hard to fit into regular shoes. This not only limits footwear choices but can also make walking even more uncomfortable.
Aesthetic Concerns: For many, the appearance of swollen ankles can affect self-confidence, making them self-conscious about wearing anything that exposes their legs.
Pain and Discomfort: Beyond the visible swelling, the sensation of tightness and occasional pulsating pain can make it difficult to concentrate on tasks, impacting productivity and general well-being.
Underlying Health Concerns: The ever-present worry about the underlying cause can also lead to stress and anxiety. Is it a heart issue? Kidney problems? These concerns can take a toll on mental health.
Coping and Management
Though living with swollen ankles can be challenging, several strategies can make life easier:
Elevate Your Legs: When resting, try to keep your legs raised. This assists in draining the accumulated fluid.
Stay Active: Gentle exercises can help improve circulation. Consider activities like swimming that don't put pressure on the ankles.
Compression Stockings: These can help reduce swelling and alleviate pain.
Limit Salt Intake: A balanced diet can help prevent fluid retention.
Consultation: Always consult with a healthcare provider to understand the underlying cause and get appropriate treatment.
Conclusion
Swollen ankles are more than a cosmetic issue. They can significantly hinder daily life, making simple tasks seem daunting. But with understanding, awareness, and appropriate care, it's possible to manage the symptoms and lead a comfortable life. If you or someone you know struggles with this issue, remember always to seek medical advice and take proactive steps to alleviate the condition.

Diet. Workouts. Lifestyle
We are now entering a period wherein we adopt the culture of South Korean artists, especially their food, exercises, clothes, dramas, and music.
Have you ever wondered why K-pop idols and actors are so skinny?
K-idols and actors balance and are strict with their lifestyles, including their workouts and food intakes.
Who wouldn't like to be as skinny as them? Let's start to be fit before the year ends.
First, be determined to workout once or twice a week at your convenience for thirty minutes to one hour. There are a lot of workout exercises on YouTube right now; you just have to do them and make a choice on which exercise is best for you. For me, cardio workouts standing I usually do once a week. First year of pandemic, usually I do workouts every day. Yeah, I was satisfied. In two weeks, I did achieve abs and became skinnier. Some of us hit the gym to become fit, which is also good.
But let's see how K-pop idols and actors do their workouts. As they said, before you make your debut in a group, you must undergo a series of training sessions in proper exercise, diet, singing, dancing, etc. Let's focus on their workout.
4th Generation Le Sserafim workout routine: 100 jumping jacks, 4x25 burpees, 2x10 jump squats (holding ears), 1 song plank crawl, 2x10 plank up and down, 2x10 plank twist, and 75 crunches
Girls Generation leg workout routine: 15 thigh hovers, 20 squats, 10 side planks, 20 inner thigh lifts, 15 hip kicks, 15 high knees, 10 lunges, and 19 hip raises
Blackpink Jennie Kim does pilates exercise for one to two hours for five days in a week. This helps to be flexible, strengthen, and tone the body.
BTS’s Jungkook Workout Routine: Knowing Jk, he does boxing exercises in his Weverse Live, but he also does 20 squats, 20 pushups, 20 jump squats, 20 pike pushups, 10 planks, 20 mountain climbers, 15 burpees, 20 crunches, 20 leg raises, and 20 Superman’s exercises to achieve his amazing toned body.
Exercise has advantages; it helps our brains improve, helps us manage our weight, strengthens our bones and muscles, improves our daily activities, and has a low disease risk (don't abuse it too much because it may also have a great risk in our body).
Second is food. Who doesn't like food? Do you know kpop idols and actors are forbidden from eating condiments, sweets, fried chicken, tteokbokki, pastry, ice cream, noodles, hamburgers, and jokbal before they debut as artists because they need to have a slim or skinny figure? They undergo really strict diets.
In the Philippines, there are a lot of fast food chains and restaurants opening from time to time.
Salt is usually what we put in our food, but have you heard that if we intake too much salt, there is a bad risk to the body? Salt intake in excess can be associated with disease, weight gain, and much more, but for us Filipinos, we can't remove it from our foods. We are fond of eating noodles, junk foods, fast foods, and restaurants. I read a lot of articles about how some salty foods can cause swelling. Sweets can gain us weight, and articles show they tend to give us acne or pimples. As per my experience, I am very observant about it. Back when I was in high school, I loved eating sweets like chocolates, candies, and much more, which gave me acne on my face and on my back. In time, I stopped eating chocolate, any sweets, and milk too. It slowly disappears, but then again, consult a physician for more information. Meat is really delicious, but the fatty part is no good if eaten too much, especially if you are really on a diet. The breadings, sauces, and ingredients we put on them are sometimes bad for our health. chicken, preferably the breast part for those on a diet.
Let's see how K-pop artists eat.
For IU, apple, sweet potato, and protein shake for a day
Suzy Bae ate one chicken breast and a banana for breakfast and drank a glass of milk. For lunch, she ate brown rice and a small vegetable salad. She finished the day with two sweet potatoes.
Blackpink Jennie's low-sodium (salt) diet, detox juices, and salad with avocado
That’s why they could lose weight in a short period of time. Remember to drink water.
I'm not saying it is bad, but in moderation, did you know that home-cooked food is still the best for me because we can control it on our own? Eating vegetables and fruits can also help us in our diet, but it really depends on a person's lifestyle and diet. There are a lot of apps now that you could try to help us plan our meals and exercises. We just need the determination within ourselves.
Wait for Part 2! for a more extensive how-to diet

hi bear!! i saw that writing prompts meme you reblogged, so: 4 for the Arisen and Phaesus? :D
Hello! Ah, thank you so much! ☺️
4. I still remember the feel of you under my palms; every curve, every line
Wake
She does not cross his mind.
Not for days. For weeks. Months.
He is not counting.
Close to his goals and he can almost touch his fingers to this world and spin it off its axis. The idea thrills him. Though it is late and he must sleep, he walks the shore of the Olta’Battahl Coastline, hoping the waves will quiet his mind. The morrow will be the day of change and tonight he will quietly celebrate with the hushed clapping of the waves.
Twilight horizon, amethyst locks, a sharp intake of breath and he halts. Heels digging into the shifting silt of the pebbled beach, he knows that silhouette standing stoically at the shore. Knows the arch of the back in front of him and the tattoos he’s traced with his fingers countless times. The curves of those hips that his hands have held, squeezed. Lips have kissed. Those shoulders that his palms have cupped while he smooths them up the soft skin of her neck, pulling her close as he whispered words that he told himself were lies; manipulations. But now he beholds this half of her in whole memories, and knows in his heart that the only lies told were the ones to himself.
The urge to experience her, rediscovering every inch of her body swells in his chest but his feet remain planted. Heart pounding, frozen in a wave of indecision, he wonders where her pawns are. Why she is alone. Why she is here, near the shore at all.
She bends, removing her sandals one at a time and tosses them far out into the water. The brine’s now shadowed tendril’s lash out, splashing and swallowing her boots and he imagines what little clothes she wears must be soaked now. Unbothered, she steps out past the shoreline, her ankles deep in water and desire is replaced with panic.
Boots slipping in the rocks, his feet feel caught in slowed time. He stumbles and slides, jaw agape with horror as she sinks into the grasp of the brine without a single cry from help passing from her lips. A crumbling to his knees, palms now bloodied with the sharp, jagged edges of stone in his skin and he reaches for her with shaking hands.
“Gwyn,” he whispers against the cacophony of the insatiable brine tendrils that have now swallowed her up.
Crawling to the edge of the shore just as the splashing settles, he falls prostrate, curling his fingers around the soaked pebbles, burning his wounds with silt and salt. There is a hollowness in his heart where maybe relief or tears or something should be. But then the brine stirs, shifting with a subtle scarlet glow and she reappears next to him, soaked, and eyes closed in peace.
He scrambles, hands closing over her body, pressing against her cheeks. “You must wake,” he tells her fervently, though without her, his goals would be easier to achieve. But he’s never expected ease.
Her hand finds his and squeezes, lips pulling into a slow, soft smile. “Phaesus,” she says, hushed like the waves lapping at the shore. “I have missed you.” She kisses his palm. The inside of his wrist.
Closing his eyes, he clenches his jaw to dam the emotions that threaten to flood him. Of course this world would not let her go so easily. The only redeemable quality about it.

Welcome to the next installment in my 15 minute fitzier first kiss fic challenge! For the anonymously submitted prompt "Could you write a fitzier kiss where one of them sustains a minor injury and the other kisses it better 🥺"
Hope this post finds you, anon!
A Metaphor for This
“Ah, damn,” James hisses, and flexes his hand, bending to inspect it.
There is a dot of blood welling on the tip of his finger where the envelope has cut it.
It is a vibrant, nearly lewd red against the pale of James’ skin, backgrounded by the slushy white of London’s slowly melting snow.
Francis’ heart is suddenly rabbit-quick in his chest, fluttering up against his ribcage in distress.
A memory, unbidden, of blood on shale. Blood dripping from James’ eye.
His throat is too thin for air to pass. When he attempts to gulp down a breath it stutters through him, strained. His mind is a susurration of buzzing sound, fuzzy and muddled.
James stares down at the blood now swelling from his finger, dripping down the side falling to dot the street.
“Clumsy of me,” James says, as if to himself.
Francis steps forward, shucking off his gloves as he goes, and takes James’ hand in his own lightly shaking grip.
He is gentle, so very careful, but he hears James’ sharp intake of breath nonetheless. He rubs a thumb over the soft underside of James’ wrist, reassuring. He will not hurt him.
“F-Francis?,” James says, voice lilting up a little at the end making it a question.
“Shush,” Francis tells him, and James does. He relinquishes himself to Francis’ care, posture slumping so that he rests against Francis’ side. As if he has just been waiting for this moment to lean on him, to be supported. Held. Cared for.
Francis fishes a handkerchief from his pocket, dabs ever so gently at the cut.
Within seconds, the blood is beading up again, the wound resisting. There is the vague thought in the back of Francis’ head, the specter of old wounds long-healed reopening, reopening, reopening–
He brings James’ finger to his mouth and licks it, cleaning the blood from it with a short swipe of his tongue. James makes a strangled sort of noise somewhere above him.
His blood tastes like iron, like salt, like the sea.
The cut is slower to bleed again, this time. It is working.
Francis lowers his head a bit further and slips the tip of James’ finger into his mouth, sucking.
Pressure, to stop the bleeding.
He pulls back to evaluate his work. The cut is still angry, red, but the active bleeding seems to have stopped. He nods in satisfaction and wraps his handkerchief around James’ finger for good measure, pressing the extra fabric into James’ palm and using his hand to curl James’ fingers around it. That should serve, until they can get home to proper medical supplies.
Duty fulfilled, he straightens to find James looking at him, wide-eyed and startled.
“James?” he asks, suddenly worried he has done something untoward, something to upset the man–
James drops the handkerchief, takes Francis’ face between his hands, and kisses him, once, firmly, right on the lips.
He pulls back just as fast, looking even more shocked at his own actions than he was at Francis’ suckling on his fingertip.
Francis feels as if he is melting, as if he is floating. He brings a hand up to card through James’ hair, thumb stroking across his cheek, and pulls him back in.

Yuan Yiqi Douyin Live Streaming "Super Tired, Very Sleepy." | 20241007 ENG SUB
youtube
20241007 Yuan Yiqi's Douyin Live Broadcast
(Yiqi, who got up early and was very sleepy after work)
Just a brief introduction. This set is just an ordinary shirt!
Why am I so sleepy? Help me, cheer up! I woke up this morning and ate steamed buns and nuts.
The hair is not dyed pure black, but black and gray. It cannot be dyed pure black, and it cannot be bleached after pure black.
I am really super tired and super sleepy. I took off my makeup and fell asleep when I got home.
I was thinking about not seeing you for a long time, so I will see you in the gap here. I am so sleepy.
Yes, I also thought about whether you are going to school. If you miss me, please give me a heart.
Yes, it's time to go to school~ You have played for seven days, so study hard. For people like me who don't have holidays, I am just like this, so "vicious." It's normal not to want to go to school; who doesn't want to play? I don't like going to work; I like going to the class I like. I'm probably better than most people. The class I'm in is already a very happy class for me. There may be some unhappy things occasionally. If you're in a class that you feel unhappy about, then you can comfort yourself by making money to earn a living. Everyone is earning a living, right? Don't make yourself too uncomfortable, and don't put too much pressure on yourself.
I don't know why I feel younger after dyeing my hair. Is hair color really the secret to reducing age?
I'm so sleepy. Can you tell that I'm actually hiding my sleepiness? I found a very important problem, that is, my hair color is very white. It's very suitable for matching with red eyeshadow.
I was so tired a few days ago that I was very swollen. I didn't rest well. I'm the kind of person who gets better only when I rest well.
Don't you guys want to eat? I'm having the last meal of the holiday. This holiday is over for me. I ordered takeout and ordered a lot of bad pepper. I'm so tired today that I can't eat one. I ordered a piece of bread.
I was shooting a music video in Korea a while ago, and there were many members’ birthdays a few days ago, so I ate a little too much, so I have to control my intake. But recently, because I ate too much salt, I couldn’t stand it, and my eyes were swollen. Every morning when I wake up, it feels like I was hit, and it takes a lot of time to reduce the swelling. I think it’s quite uncomfortable. I will drink another bottle of water later, and I won’t drink anymore.
Don’t feel sorry for me; applaud and support me. I will go home and take off my makeup and sleep.
I am very good at controlling my weight now. It’s a matter of minutes for me. After today, I will be a brave man again. This sentence is for all of us; after all, everyone has to take a holiday.
I haven’t exercised recently. I haven’t been to the gym since it closed down. I was completely hurt. It’s impossible to refund the money~ It doesn’t matter. You can earn money again if you lose it. It’s really unnecessary to keep entangled in things that can’t be taken back. It’s just hurting yourself. I
It’s not that I don’t care about that little bit of money; I just think people should let themselves go appropriately. If there is no other way, just take it as a lesson.
Okay, I’m leaving; I’m going back to sleep. Bye.
Bye, see you in Guilin!

Diarrhea – (not only) an unpleasant travel companion
Sun, sand, and sea – it would be so wonderful if it weren’t for diarrhea. Diarrhea is the most common illness when traveling. Bacterial infections are most likely the trigger. For healthy adults, these infections are usually harmless and disappear after a short time, even without treatment. Severe diarrhea, which is accompanied by severe water loss, is rare and particularly dangerous for babies, toddlers, pregnant women, diabetics and elderly people.
If you have only soft stools, you don’t have to worry. However, if you have to go to the toilet more often than three times a day, or when the stool is very watery and the overall amount has increased then these are symptoms of mild to moderate diarrhea. If there is no improvement after two to three days or the diarrhea is very severe, you should consult a doctor.
Our travel tips – how you can treat mild diarrhea yourself while traveling:
Drink plenty of fluids (at least 3 – 4 liters per day) with salts (electrolytes).
Adults with diarrhea can prepare an electrolyte solution for themselves:
Dissolve ½ teaspoon salt and 5 teaspoons sugar in 0.5 l boiled water, flavor with orange juice.
(Please note this is not suitable for children under 5 years old!)
For children under 5 years of age you can obtain special electrolyte solutions in the pharmacy.
Salt can also be consumed in the form of clear, salted soup or broth.
Bananas and apricots are rich in potassium, which is one of the most important electrolytes.
After the first few days of an acute diarrhea illness, you should try to consume products that contain little or no milk.
Eat normally as soon as you start to feel better with an increased appetite.
Medication for acute diarrhea is only useful in some cases, e. g. to slow down dangerous water loss or to survive a long bus journey.
Colas and pretzel sticks are not a suitable treatment for rehydration and salt intake.
Gentle colon cleansing with psyllium seeds act like a mild swelling and intestinal lubricant. They cleanse the intestines of putrefactive substances and intestinal gases and promote the growth of intestinal-friendly bacteria. Psyllium seeds are known as well tolerated.
In case of severe diarrhea, you should definitely consult a doctor.
Note: If you suffer from frequent diarrhea, this could be caused by food intolerances and allergies, e.g. lactose, fructose or histamine intolerance. In this case, we recommend that you get in contact with your health care practitioner (HCP) for further consultation. If these intolerances are not responsible for your diarrhea, the cause may be an IgG food hypersensitivity. IgG food hypersensitivities often remain undetected because the symptoms only occur a few hours or even days after the consumption of a trigger food. This makes them extremely difficult to identify. Fortunately, a reliable diagnostic test and nutritional concept can help: ImuPro. Find out more about the ImuPro test without obligation.

Ooooh you have snakebites (/ω\)
I've been thinking about getting some as my second and third ever facial piercings, probably for my 18th birthday? But I am a coward and terrified of needles
If you dont mind sharing, how bad was the initial piercing process? And what was the recovery like?
I'll preface this by saying I'm a very biased source; I love needles, and I have a pretty high pain tolerance.
I'll run you down what my piercing was like, though! So after I gave my ID (for age-verification) and did an intake sheet, I was led to the actual piercing bed. My piercer took a took at my anatomy and gave a general location. Depending on how your lips look, you might be pierced in different spots, so it appears even (my snakebites look even because my lips aren't symmetrical, they aren't even when you actually measure them).
You'll be pierced straight through the underside of your lip, of course, which might be sensitive. I would rate the pain a 3/10 at the worst part, but again, I'm biased. If your piercer is good and has experience with oral piercings, it usually will go smoothly (any good piercer ought to be honest in terms of their experience level, I think).
Recovery was the APP standard - I used NeilMed saline spray to spray the outside of my piercing, and I used alcohol-free mouthwash to clean the inside of the piercing (inside the mouth). You don't need to use saline spray inside your mouth! Saline spray can be expensive ($5USD/bottle in my area), so I ended up making my own. I used a gallon of distilled water and poured in about 2-3 teaspoons of non-iodized salt. If you DIY your own solution, you should not put too much salt in your water, it may become too abrasive for your piercing.
I cleaned the piercing twice or so daily (morning and nightly) until the healing was over, and now I only clean it about once a day or so. I have not changed my jewelry since I got it a year or so ago, so I don't have experience with that.
Your starter jewlery will be pretty long since the mouth swells after piercings. Mine didn't swell, but after a while, I started biting on my snakebites since they were too long. Please be careful eating and drinking during this part of healing. After about 2-3 months, I was technically able to get a downsize (I ended up going nine months before I could drive the hour to my piercer. It wasn't fun, and I'm so happy with the downsize! Don't skip out on it, it is super important!).
I know I threw a ton of info at you all at once, and I'm sorry. But I genuinely would love to help set you up for a good, smooth process. Your piercer should be somebody you trust to tell you how to go about this, too. Please ask them any questions. Despite how nerve-wracking it is, snakebites were SO worth it for me, they are such a beautiful piercing (especially if you want to pair them with other oral piercings. I think it compliments most other oral piercings so so well).

Water retention: know it, and then fight it!
Tumblr media
If there is a skin blemish that puts a strain on our self-confidence, it is water retention, especially with the arrival of summer. It makes our legs heavy and swollen, and we can add the emotional discomfort to the physical one. This happens because this condition often imposes itself as an obstacle too difficult to overcome, and that is why it tends to run for cover at the last minute, spending a lot of money to witness a miracle that never arrives!
Nowadays we often hear about many strategies against the accumulation of water in the body, such as facial lymphatic drainage massage that is becoming popular, but there is still a lot of confusion about it. This happens because it is not clear to everyone what the real causes are, and consequently, what the right treatment is.
What is water retention?
Water retention is a common condition that occurs when excess fluid accumulates in body tissues: the organism tends to accumulate liquids in the spaces between the cells, thus causing more or less evident swelling called edemas. These edemas are often spread in areas of the body predisposed to the accumulation of adipose tissue, such as the buttocks, legs, ankles, and abdomen. This condition is related to the action of estrogen hormones, typically female, which is why water retention affects women the most.
We often tend to confuse water retention with cellulite, but in reality, these are two different ailments: cellulite is an inflammatory process of subcutaneous adipose tissue, due to hypertrophy of fat cells and changes in the venous and lymphatic systems. Cellulite, compared to water retention, it is more difficult to treat. That said, water retention can be cured, especially if the causes are identified.
What causes water retention?
Understanding the causes and symptoms of water retention is essential to effectively combat this condition and improve overall health. Several factors can contribute to water retention, and some of the most common causes include:
• Sodium intake
• Excessive use of salt
• Dehydration
• Hormonal changes
• Some medications
• Problems of blood circulation
• Sedentary
• Keeping a static position for too long
• Clothes too tight
• Heels too high
• Smoking
• Excessive consumption of alcohol
How to combat water retention?
There are several effective ways to combat water retention and reduce swelling in the body, and many of them are directly proportional to the causes mentioned above:
• Reduce sodium intake and eat foods rich in potassium, because it helps balance sodium levels in the body and reduce water retention.
• Reduce the use of salt
• Stay hydrated (drink at least 2 liters of water a day)
• Treat hormonal dysfunctions
• Do sports or go for a walk
• Lead a healthy lifestyle (sleep well and eat healthy)
Follow these tips if you want to get many more results:
• Drinking draining herbal teas: herbal teas based on draining plants such as dandelion, nettle, fennel, or birch, can help stimulate lymphatic drainage and reduce water retention.
• Lymphatic massages: specific massages that stimulate the lymphatic system can be effective in promoting excess fluid drainage and reducing swelling.
• Raising legs to the wall: maintaining this position for 10-20 minutes stimulates blood circulation and reduces swelling considerably.
• Eating diuretic foods: many plant-based foods counteract water retention thanks to their diuretic action. The most common are: pineapple, watermelon, asparagus, artichokes, cucumbers, melon, blueberries, celery, apples, and tomatoes.
• Taking specific supplements: Using supplements based on natural components further increases the diuretic action. The most effective ones contain birch, centella, dandelion, melilot, pineapple, and bromelain.
Conclusion
Water retention occurs in the same way, through heaviness, swelling, and stagnation, but the causes are multiple. Fortunately, the solutions are no less, and they are not unattainable. Unless you are dealing with specific issues, following strategic precautions can cure and also eliminate the accumulation of water in your body. Once you individualize the cause, go and find the right solution. But don’t go too far... it’s closer than you think!

Hugo Herb Shop, Kyoto, Japan
》 Hugo Homare 's Point of View 《
A week, it has been a month since Adan, Ame, Arana and Dale, stayed in our home. Kida-jiisan, a father figure to me even for a short time, passed away a week since Amie, Dale, Arana and Adan stayed here for the night. Even I can't have any power against Fate and he told me that even for the short time they took me in as their daughter, he was happy and that he loved me.
“Any advice, Homare-chan?” An older woman who was frequent in our small tea shop asked me.
“I suggest don't put too much salt your cooking, from what you're saying, your husband has Kidney Strain. ” I say.
“How'd you know?” She asked me as she sips her Ollong Tea. There are a few customers who ask things and I usually answer... with pay of course.
“From the very list of things your husband feels... The Fatigue, Changes in Urination, Swelling in the hands and ankles, Side Pain, Loss of appetite Nausea and Vomiting, Shortness of Breath, Rashes, Muscle Cramps.” I ranted. “But I suggest getting checked by a doctor but still it will be nice to lessen your salt intake.”
“Of course, of course.” The woman nodded.
“Since our bodies are no longer that strong compared to our youths, we should take proper care of it.” I wisely said. “Oh and lessen the sake as well.”
“I will do anything for that idiot to stay healthy! Thanks Homare-chan.” The woman payed me about 800 yen, not too shabby seeing for small talk.
“Homare-neesan, Ayume-baasan needs you.”

Two brothers were pacing as their friend wasn't answering. The taller brother with brown long hair was looking at the blank piece of paper that they got from the mail.
“Come on, kid, pick up.” The shorter but older brother was the one pacing and worriedly calling their friend.
[This is Delayne Giselle, leave a message after thr beep. But if this is your nth time calling and I don't pick up, I'm out Whispering] His call went to voicemail.
“Dean, why don't we... Ugh...” The taller brother shake his head at the bad idea that he just got.
“Do what, Sammy?” The older brother, Dean, frustratedly asked his younger brother, Sam. “That perhaps the only lead we got is not answering her phone?”
“Since... Cas has his Grace now, why don't he you know, pop up at her place?” Sam asked.
“Or...” Dean trailed. “We call Cas has his grace now, why don't he pop US at her place?” Dean suggested.
“Are you suggesting we pop up in Japan?” Sam looked at his brother who looked like it was the greatest idea he got in a while, a very long while.
“I'm calling it!” Dean immediately called their angel friend, Castiel.
[Hello Dean.] From the otherend of the call, Castiel was in a Slip n' Drink when he received Dean's call.
“Look, Cas, we need a favor man.” Dean said. “Remember Giselle? The kid surgeon? Well she's not answering and we're worried... ”
“Uhm, Dean... I think I know why she's not answering.” Sam said as he just searched a news article in Japan. “I mean, my Japanese is a little wonky but... the only call that Giselle can answer is from a sèance.” He said, turning his laptop around where the article showed a memorial for the young doctor.
[What? Miss Delaney is dead?] Cas asked.
“Change of plans buddy, can you pop us up in Japan and make sure she's actually...dead.” The thrill that Dean felt was washed away. The article showed blurred body and he was pretty sure on the label is that it read Giselle's name and dead on it.
[Are you sure, Dean? You and Sam can handle...] Castiel trailed as he knew how the brothers valued their small but distant family and friends that they meet.
“Pronto, buddy. ” Dean stood up and got up, opening his wallet and fished out a picture of the three, it was when 18 years old Giselle helped them with a case during her and her grandparents' vacation in New York, years prior.
[I'm on my way...Ugh is it a right time for pie?] Castiel already paid for the things he pick up.
“Just... take it and get over here.” Dean said. “Thanks buddy.” With that he hung up, knowing that Castiel was about to say something.
“Let's pack up then.” Sam closed his laptop.
“She better not be dead.” Dean shook his head as he too, began packing.
“I mean, like us, she's some legacy right?” Sam asked, referring to them being descendants of a Men of Letter member. They managed to find a rather old scroll that dated back in the 1800s in Japan. About a case between the Judah Initiatives, Men of Letters and the Keepers of the Whispers, a huge alliance.
“Well it's that or her Gramps taught her to throw scapels when she's 5 years old and her Grandma teaching her how to hunt succubi at their age of 70s-ish.” Dean sarcastically said.
“Dean, I was 4 when you taught me how to pick a lock.” Sam gave him a look. “Well, other than the auto-magicked checklist of members that the scroll has is just something else.” Sam said.
“Sam, Dean, you guys ready?” Castiel had to drive to the bunker due to it being protected from anything really. With a serious nod, Castiel handed Dean the pie and touched the two brothers' shoulders.

In front of Toshiki Residence, Tokyo, Japan
“Huh, I was joking about the mansion-ish house.” Dean gave a small whistle at the modernized Japanese mansion. There were a few people wandering about and they didn't noticed the trio so they didn't startled anyone.
“The funeral was yesterday. Everyone are preparing to put some of their things in a storage room.” Castiel translated a few words that the housekeepers were saying.
“Uhm, hey!” Dean called out to a man who was visibly disrespected but the foreigners' yell.
“Can I help you?” The man asked.
“We are friends of Miss Delaney.” Castiel said in Japanese, making the two brothers look at him in disbelief.
“From America, we heard that she passed and uhm we are here to convey our condolences.” Sam said in broken Japanese but the man understood and he earned an eyeroll from his brother.
“I am Castiel, this is Sam and Dean Winchester.” Castiel introduced himself and his companions. Two of them bowed in respect, the other reluctantly bowed with a small thug of his sleeves.
“I am Nura Yamito, I am a guard. Please, come inside while I fetch Toshiki-sama.” He showed the three inside, adviced them to wear indoor slipper and remove their shoes.
“Dean, it's a sign of respect, okay?” Sam told his brother. The living room has tatami mats and floor chairs where there instead of the usual couches and sofas. “They cremated her then?” There was a small shrine on a display cabinet with two urns and pictures on them.
“That's not Miss Delaney.” Castiel's eyes furrowed when they looked at the pictures. One was a woman who looked similar to Giselle but older and has black hair. The other picture was a picture of a baby, new born to be precise.
“Dean-san, Sam-san, Castiel-sama.” Two old figures walked in the living room and motioned them to seat. Despite pushing through their 80s, they looked like they never aged from the 3 years they haven't seen each other.
“Hello.” Dean awkwardly waved at the old couple. The two motioned them to seat down and gave a maid who was trailing behind them to place down the food and tea and coffee.
“We are happy to see you three again, not the reason that we are meeting because of our granddaughter's funeral but a joy to see you three again.” Toshiki Hiroko, silvered and wrinkly now due to old age, gave them a small smile. Thankfully for Dean, the couple knew how to speak English. As well as Korean, Greek, Latin, Spanish, French, Italian and many more languages. It was from them Giselle learned how to speak multiple languages.
“We offer you our condolences.” Dean said, immediately taking the cup of coffee and taking out the pie that Castiel bought and placing it down on the coffee table.
“Giselle would've loved to see you or know you are here.” Yuro said.
“Uhm, we know that it hasn't been long since her death but can we ask what happened?” Sam asked, curiously watching Castiel who has yet to sit down. He was still staring at the baby picture.
“Ah, Castiel-sama, did Juno's picture intrigued you?” Hiroko also noticed the man's attention on the picture.
“Juno? Like the Roman Goddess?” Sam asked, elbowing his brother who was stuffing his face with pie.
“Uhm, yeah, the Goddess of Marriage and Jupiter's wife?” Dean continued.
“Ah, I see why Giselle liked the three of you.” Yuro smiled. “You are Anthropologist, yes?” Yuro didn't know about the case, nor about the three knowing of the supernatural. “She spoke highly of your the lores that you share.”
“Uhm, yes.” Dean just agreed. It was common knowledge in the Toshiki Residence that Giselle wanted to be one but chose to become a doctor instead.
“This is Miss Delaney's twin then?” Castiel asked.
“Yes, despite being born first, Juno was stillborn. Giselle on the otherhand was a healthy baby, silent but healthy.” Yuro nodded. Tears begin to fill both of the couples' eyes.
“Our daughter, you see, she was rebellious... Her actions lead to consequences but she got the blessings of her life.” Hiroko was crying now. “Then not aftet a few days after giving birth, she died due to hemorrhaging.”
“We are so sorry to hear that.” Sam sadly said but then he cleared his throat. “We are sorry for your losses, Yuro-san, Hiroko-san but it it's alright with the two of you, we would like to hear of what happened.”
“You see, like most of the people we meet... we care deeply for them, we value them despite being away from them.” Dean said, metaphorically and physically true.
“Of course, it was just a few days ago. Giselle has this patient that is at the countryside, she checks up on her twice a month and the day of the tragedy was her one of her checkups with her.” Yuro explained, his voice raspy and strained.
“Oh, it was horrible, she was checking up on patient when her car swiveled on a stormy night and crashed it on a lake, thankfully she managed to escape... Her burnt body was found near the lake you see.” Hiroko explained.
“Burnt? Why was her body burnt?” Sam asked, curious.
“She was struck by lightning, she was wet due to the rain or perhaps she swam to the lake's shore but like meat that escaped the pan, fell into the fire.” Hiroko was wailing now. The three gave the couple a chance to mourn, albeit mourn again but one can't simply just move on with a snap of a finger.
“Dean, Sam, I don't think Miss Delaney is dead.” Castiel said. “I don't know how but I think they brought in the wrong body.” Castiel said, making Sam and Dean to look around to see if anyone was in ears' length.
“Then where is she?” Dean asked. Castiel then went completely still, not blinking or not even moving.
“Cas?” Sam worriedly looked at his friend. With three calls, the angel snapped back to reality.
“Angel Radio.” Castiel said. “I managed to hear. A few things.” He said.
“Well, what is it?” Dean impatiently asked.
“I don't think the call will pull through if she's in the past.” Castiel said.
“What?” The two brothers knew that journeying in the past wasn't impossible but the fact that not knowing how and why she got there was shocking.
“One of the angels saw her, well, not sure if it was her but an angel's storm was the one that caused the car crash. ” Castiel said. “She's famous too, you know, human miracles you know.”
“We know buddy.” Dean said, knowing how Castiel was awestruck by Giselle when they first met.
“Did you heard why and how?” Sam asked.
“No, angel's storm happens when some angels can't control their you know graces in their human hosts. Euria, Nadine and a few angels can control the weather. Some in seasons.” Castiel rambled.
“And the reason why? Dean asked.
“Nothing either. No angel can pop to and from the past, not when the fall drained us.” Castiel said as a matter of fact.
“So she's stuck in the past?” Dean asked. “Then that's where the letter came from then? Samuel Colt managed to FedEx phoenix ashes to the future.” Dean concluded.
“But it's blank.” Sam pulled out the letter and to see the blank paper only to see it now no longer blank.
“It's a painting.” Dean had to stretch his neck to see the painting that was in Sam's hands.
“No way, is that the Shinsengumi?” Sam asked, shocked that the painting was a group of men wearing the same haori with the same kanji on it and there in the middle was a familiar face.
“The what?” Dean asked.
“Then she's in Edo Period then.” Sam concluded and walked back to the couple. “Yuro-san, Hiroko-san, do you recognize the girl in the middle?” He showed them the picture.
“Huh, I didn't know that any of our ancestors were affiliated with the Shinsengumi.” Yuro snickered.
“Our ancestors came from the South you know, we were far from the battle that was happening in Kyoto, and the few who were near didn't exactly like the Wolves of Mibu.” Hiroko explained, internally laughing at Dean's face. She liked the three, how they seemed so familiar despite not being actually close to them, it was Giselle who were in contact with the three.
“Werewolves?” Dean mouthed to Castiel and Sam, on which the latter shook his head in disbelief.
“Shinsengumi or the Wolves of Mibu.” Sam pointed out. “Perhaps a cousin many times removed?” He asked again.
“Oh no.” Yuro shook his head. “Most of our ancestors were men, to be clear my daughter and granddaughters are the only females in the last 7 generations.” He was looking intently on the painting.
“But it looks so much like our Giselle.” Hiroko smiled. “Where did you get this anyway?” She asked.
“Uhm, it was something Giselle found.” sent. Sam wanted to say. “We only received it not too long ago.”
“Unless doppelgangers or shapeshifters exists, I doubt there would be someone who will look like Giselle, now or then.” Yuro said, giving the painting back. The three inwardly winced at his statement.
“Another thing that we need to ask, is that, was Giselle acting weird before the accident?” Dean asked.
“Weird no, exhausted yes. Our granddaughter works hard in the hospital you know?” Hiroko said. “But she did received a small necklace from an unknown person, she even wears it.” She continued. Her statement caught the trio's interest.
“She wore it? Like without any hesitation?” Dean asked. He knew Giselle and that she was cautious and careful to let a little jewelry pass.
“Yes she did. We thought of a possible suitor or a lover but she didn't confirmed anything.” Yuro said.
“What did it look like?” Dean asked. He had a feeling he knew what necklace they were talking about.
“With my eyesight, don't hold it against me but it looked old, like some eagle or was it a deer head?” Hiroko said.
“Like a wide V?” Dean asked.
“Yes. Did you know of it?” Yuro asked. Everyone in the room looked at Dean in curiosity.
“She spoke of a clue in finding her father. She showed me a picture of a brass necklace that looked like a very wide V, before we all parted ways years ago.” Dean said.
“So she found her father then?” Yuro didn't know who Giselle's father was but he sure as hell hate the bloke to death.
“Maybe or maybe not.” Sam said. Gears turning in his head and an idea popped up. “Do you guys have it or is it in her things?”
“I'll go have someone get it.” Hiroko called for a maid and asked her to take out Giselle's jewelry box. “What's with the questions?” She was curious on why the three are adamant in asking such questions.
“We feel like there's something wrong with Giselle's death.” Sam stated. “It could be tied to the painting or her necklace or her father.”
“Don't care about that bastard is what I say.” Yuro was fuming.
“We understand but your granddaughter left us somethings, some questionable things but we really need to know.” Dean said. Then a maid handed a wooden box to Hiroko and left.
“It's this one yes?” Yuro asked, pulling out a deep V brass necklace which made Castiel's eyes to widen which didn't go unnoticed by the two brothers.
“Can Cas take a good look of it?” Dean asked.
“He's the expert in jewelry and artifacts.” Sam explained. The couple began to tell them stories of Giselle, small and normal stories that somehow made them a little reluctant of their theory of her being a legacy.
“Here you go.” Castiel gave the necklace a few minutes later.
“It's night, and I assume you three don't have any place to stay at?” Yuro asked.
“Stay, for the night, please.” Hiroko nodded and ordered a maid to prepare three guest rooms and asked the same maid to tell the chef to cook something American this time.
“Ugh, thanks.” Dean agreed.
“Why don't you three freshen up while dinner is being readied?” With that the three were ushered to their rooms by Yamito.

Ok listen I will jump at every chance to tell you that your fics - and your smut in particular - are so SENSUAL, so grounded in sensory language that it brings everything to life. But you’ve got such a deft touch with the emotional aspect too, and that’s what makes your writing such a joy to read. I always feel like I’ve been transported when I’m reading your fics, and it’s why I love to come back to them over again, just to take that little journey, just for a little while.
babe i'm crying you're so sweet i'm sorry i've been sitting on this for like a week i've just been screaming silently about it into my hands thank you so much that means so much to me and that's all i ever want people to experience when they read my stuff
i wanted to find something good in my wips for you but unfortunately my brain has just been mush lately, but i did dredge this nugget up for you so enjoy:
She feels the swell of the sea in her bones. Every rise and fall, every creak of wood and rope flows through her, natural, like the feeling of her own magic-- easy and comfortable. On the deck of Mazelinka’s ship, she leans over the port rail and breathes in the salt-spray, lets the dampness tickle and sting her cheeks in equal measure. There's a bite to the air that heralds rain. She can feel it in the pit of her guts sure as she can see the boiling of clouds to the far west, abreast of where they’re headed, but sure to cross their path eventually. She wonders, with a pang of homesickness, if the same storm has touched Vesuvia. If, when it passes over them, it will bring a piece of her city along with it. For now, though, the sun is bright above her, the wood beneath her folded arms hot to the touch, the air is still smelling faintly of pine tar from the ropes above, and it is almost like heaven. A familiar shadow falls over her, tall and lover-shaped, blocking the warmth at her back. Deft hands reach out to tame her hair, gathering it back as it twists and snaps around her face, caught in the breeze so that he can press cool lips to her newly bared shoulder. She leans back against the bulk of her companion with a contented sigh. “I think I love this,” she says, raising her voice to be heard over the churning of the waves. "I don't think I've ever loved anything quite like I love this. Except maybe you." Behind her, she feels the rumble of laughter in Julian’s chest against her back more than she hears it, like distant thunder. “It suits you,” he replies, combing a few snarls from her curls with his fingers, only to have them twist and wrap around them again, wind whipped and stubborn. “The ocean has that way about it, and you always did have a heart for the sea.” Curious, she shifts in his embrace, eyeing him as best she can over her shoulder. “Did I now?” She feels him tense, the sharp intake of breath before he calms. “Sorry,” he says, hand brushing in apology up her arm. “Don’t be sorry.” She turns fully, resting her hips against the rail. His hands threaten to drift away from her, so she tangles his fingers in her own, tethering him before he can slip away. “Tell me, I want to know.”

Wayfaring, do you know why rings on our fingers feel very loose then too tight then just right? Do you think it’s because our fingers change size in the heat and cold?
Yes. Fingers swell and shrink all the time based on our salt and fluid intake and weather.

Made it week 38!! My OB ordered a 24 hour urinalysis and blood work, to check for proteinuria. With the swelling and my moms history with preeclampsia we’re just being extra cautious.
I’m increasing my protein, fluids, and salt intake in hopes that will help. We’re praying that the results come back clear and we’re good to continue with the pregnancy without intervention.

Say Goodbye to Gum Infections: Effective Natural Remedies You Need to Try!
Tumblr media
As we all know, maintaining good oral health is important for overall health and wellbeing.
Gum infections are a common problem that many people face, and if left untreated, they can cause serious health issues.
Fortunately, there are several natural remedies that can help prevent and treat gum infections.
In this article, we will discuss some effective natural remedies that you can try to say goodbye to gum infections.
Understanding Gum Infections
Before we dive into the natural remedies, it's essential to understand what gum infections are and their causes.
Gum infections are caused by the buildup of plaque and bacteria on the teeth and gums.
Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that forms on teeth, and if it's not removed through regular brushing and flossing, it can harden and turn into tartar, leading to gum infections.
Symptoms of gum infections include redness, swelling, bleeding, and tenderness of the gums.
If left untreated, gum infections can lead to periodontitis, a severe gum disease that can cause tooth loss and other health complications.
Effective Natural Remedies for Gum Infections
1. Saltwater Rinse
One of the simplest and most effective natural remedies for gum infections is a saltwater rinse.
Saltwater has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce swelling and kill bacteria in the mouth.
To prepare a saltwater rinse, mix a teaspoon of salt with a cup of warm water and rinse your mouth with it for 30 seconds. Repeat this several times a day.
2. Oil Pulling
Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice that involves swishing oil around in your mouth for several minutes.
It's believed to have several health benefits, including reducing inflammation and killing bacteria in the mouth.
Coconut oil is a popular choice for oil pulling due to its antibacterial properties.
To try oil pulling, swish a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth for 10-15 minutes, then spit it out and rinse your mouth with water.
3. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic that can help kill bacteria and reduce inflammation in the mouth.
To use tea tree oil for gum infections, mix a few drops of the oil with a carrier oil like coconut oil and massage it onto your gums.
You can also add a few drops of tea tree oil to your toothpaste or mouthwash for added benefits.
4. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is a well-known natural remedy for skin conditions, but it's also beneficial for oral health.
Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that can help reduce swelling and kill bacteria in the mouth.
You can use aloe vera gel as a mouthwash by mixing it with water and rinsing your mouth with it.
5. Vitamin C
Vitamin C is essential for maintaining good oral health as it helps strengthen the immune system and fight off infections.
You can increase your intake of vitamin C by eating citrus fruits like oranges and lemons, or by taking supplements.
Bonus: Always Choose Right Dental Health Supplement
Dental health supplements can be a beneficial addition to one's oral hygiene routine.
They are designed to provide essential vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that support healthy teeth and gums.
These supplements can help improve overall oral health by strengthening teeth, reducing inflammation, and preventing tooth decay and gum disease.
In addition to a balanced diet and regular brushing and flossing, dental health supplements can help fill any nutritional gaps that may exist in one's diet, which can contribute to better overall health.

Preventing Gum Infections
Preventing gum infections is easier than treating them. Here are some tips to help you prevent gum infections:
Brush and floss regularly to remove plaque and bacteria from your teeth and gums.
Use an antibacterial mouthwash to kill bacteria in the mouth.
Eat a balanced diet that's rich in vitamins and minerals.
Avoid sugary and acidic foods and drinks that can damage your teeth and gums.
Quit smoking as it increases the risk of gum infections and other oral health problems.
As discussed above use best natural dental health supplement.
Conclusion:
Gum infections can be painful and uncomfortable, but they're preventable and treatable with natural remedies.

Plus, not to say something else that sounds scary, but if you have been outside sweating buckets chugging a bunch of straight water can be dangerous too, that’s what the electrolytes are for. Once you’ve sweated out the vast majority of your bodies salt content, you need to equalize both your fluid intake and your solids. There’s a history of workers like roofers who spend all day in the sun, sweating out everything their body had, chugging the gallon of water they brought with them and inducing water intoxication. It’s literally the cells trying to equalize and taking in too much fluid, causing cell swelling. You need equilibrium, electrolytes good. Or you have to eat something with sodium content alongside your water intake.
PSA: i keep seeing posts about staying cool in extreme heat that include advice like "gatorade is bad actually!" and "don't drink fruit juice it'll just dehydrate you!" and neither of these are true!
regarding fruit juice: there's apparently a misconception that Any Sugar At All will dehydrate you, and that's simply not true. yes, sugar will make you pee more when consumed in large amounts, but 1) the natural sugar in fruits won't do this to you 2) great news! a lot of fruit juices exist without any added sugar in them! 3) honestly even having a glass of the fruit juice with added sugar won't completely dehydrate you as long as you're also drinking water throughout the day. if its hot you deserve a cold treat of a drink!!! can't go wrong with fruit juice!!!
regarding gatorade: maybe this isn't an every day drink, but guess what: if it's 110F/40C or hotter outside, and you don't have AC, or you're moving around a lot outside of the AC, and you're sweating buckets: that's when you drink a gatorade.
gatorade exists to replenish all the electrolytes (salt) and glucose (sugar) that you sweat out. YES it is meant for athletes to drink during intensive work outs and not necessarily for people who aren't doing that kind of exercise. BUT GUESS WHAT! when you're sweating buckets because you had to walk to the bus in extreme heat, that's intensive exercise. please feel free to drink a gatorade after that! that's its intended use case!!!!
no: neither of these drinks should be a total replacement for water. but drinking a lot of water and then treating yourself to a fruit juice with lunch is a good idea!!! drinking a gatorade becuase you just had to walk for 20 minutes in the heat is a good idea!!!
Please Stop Spreading Misinformation About Drinks!!! It's fine if you drink things that aren't water!!!! Yes you should probably always be drinking water but drinking something else As Well isn't going to hurt you!!!! okay!!!! its fine!!!!!!
honestly so long as you are consistently getting Any (non-alcoholic) fluids in you, you're doing great!!!!!! okay!!!! i love you stay safe <3

Understanding  Hydronephrosis; Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment
Tumblr media
 What is Hydronephrosis?
Hydronephrosis is a medical condition where the kidneys start to swell due to the inability of urine to drain properly from the kidney to the bladder. This blockage or obstruction in the urinary tract can lead to an accumulation of urine, causing kidney damage over time if not addressed. The condition is commonly associated with kidney function impairment and can occur in one or both kidneys.
Symptoms of Hydronephrosis
If you experience any of the following symptoms, you may need to consult a nephrologist to rule out hydronephrosis:
1. Frequent Urination:  An urge to urinate more frequently than usual.
2. Pain in the Waist or Lower Back:  Pain in the kidney area, which may be dull or sharp, depending on the severity of the blockage.
3.  Fever and Chills:  Fever can indicate an infection, often due to urine build-up, making it a serious symptom.
4.  Pain During Urination:  Difficulty or discomfort while urinating.
5.  Swelling in the Abdomen:  Bloated feeling or visible swelling, especially around the kidney or bladder area.
6.  Change in Urine Color and Odor: Urine may become dark, cloudy, or have an unusual smell.
7.  Nausea and Vomiting:  These can be signs of advanced kidney issues and need immediate attention.
Causes of Hydronephrosis
Hydronephrosis can result from several underlying issues, including:
Kidney Stones:  Stones can obstruct the urinary tract, blocking urine flow.
Enlarged Prostate:  Common in older males, an enlarged prostate can press against the urinary tract.
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs):  Infections can lead to swelling and obstruction.
Pregnancy:  The growing uterus may compress the urinary tract in some women, leading to hydronephrosis.
Tumors or Cancers:  Growths in the urinary tract or surrounding organs can block urine flow.
Congenital Abnormalities: Some people may be born with structural issues in the urinary tract that cause hydronephrosis.
Diagnosis and Treatment
To diagnose hydronephrosis, a nephrologist or urologist may recommend imaging tests like an ultrasound, CT scan, or MRI to detect any blockage or swelling in the kidneys. Blood and urine tests are also common to assess kidney function and check for infection.
Treatment :for hydronephrosis depends on the cause and severity. Options may include:
Medication: Antibiotics for infections or medications to reduce inflammation.
Drainage Procedures:  In severe cases, a catheter may be used to drain excess urine.
Surgery:  If kidney stones, tumors, or structural abnormalities are causing the blockage, surgery may be needed.
Lifestyle Changes:  Drinking more water and reducing salt intake can help in mild cases.
