Scrooge McDuck, Flintheart Glomgold and John D. Rockerduck as Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus and Father Christmas (Deda Moroz) - Merry Christmas, Happy St. Nicholas Day and Happy Holidays - Crafts - Drawcember - My style - Duck comics and Duckverse
Although I'm late, it's definitely time for our favorite part of the year when we all prepare for one of the biggest Christian holidays ever, which is Christmas. There are certainly many days before Christmas, of which St. Nicholas Day is certainly an important one. Since the holidays are coming, what can I not do in terms of traditional customs related to Christmas. In European countries, especially among Catholics, St. Nicholas is celebrated every December 6 (for Orthodox Christians it is only on December 19, otherwise on the 6th according to the Julian calendar), otherwise one of the most important Christian saints who is the patron saint of sailors as well as the patron saint of families and good children. Yes, Saint Nicholas is a saint from the fourth century and yes, he is actually a real Santa Claus, as well as Father Christmas, as the legends surrounding him are still attached to this day. Yes, in many European countries, especially in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland and other European countries, Saint Nicholas comes every sixth of December to bring gifts to good children, and those who have been naughty, Krampus, a black devil with a whip, comes to torment children and usually leaves coal for them. Sounds familiar, right?
I've already drawn Scrooge McDuck as Saint Nicholas before, and you can see the previous drawing from last year here: https://ducktoonsfanart.tumblr.com/post/736359028883668992/celebrating-saint-nicholas-celebrating-christmas
The three billionaire ducks decided to dress up as Santa Claus, so I drew them however I wanted them to look. Scrooge would be Saint Nicholas, Glomgold would be Deda Moroz (Father Christmas), and Rockerduck would be modern Santa Claus. Deda Moroz is actually Russian Santa Claus. Jeeves (Lusky) as Rockerduck's partner is a Christmas elf as Santa Claus's helper, and I added a donkey carrying gifts, because according to legend, Saint Nicholas rides a donkey. I drew them according to my own will, because it would be interesting to see stingy ducks playing the roles of great Christmas givers. Yes, Saint Nicholas is the real Santa Claus, especially for me, but let everyone think what they want.
I hope you like this drawing and feel free to like and reblog this, just don't copy this without mentioning me and don't use it without my permission. Thank you! Happy St. Nicholas Day, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Also as part of Drawcember is dedicated to @ace-of-garlic-breads.

In honor of Christmas, could you please provide me with some fun facts about St Nicholas? I read a bit on Wikipedia, but I trust you more lol
Awwww thank you Anonie. I’ve only recently began learning about saints but I’ve known about Saint Nicholas.
I’ve been praying to St Nicky a lot lately. He’s famous for the story of how he sneakily gave dowry money to 3 young women whose father could not afford to give them the money for it.
What is not commonly known is how their father was gonna sell them into sex slavery. And that depending on who you ask he had wasted the money that should’ve been there’s on pleasures of the flesh. So… yeah. He is not merely a saint of generosity and humility, but also of the protection of young women and against the sexual slave trade (May our God of Love and Justice destroy the sex slave industry).
He is also famously a protector of sailors. His home town Myra is a sailing port so sailors pray to him a lot. There’s also a story of some sailors stuck in a storm and who thought they were going to die (I’m remembering this from memory so anyone correct me if I’m wrong). But, Saint Nicholas prayed to God and the storm was rebuked.
I often refer to him as “Patron of those Lost at Sea” and since my family’s been going thru it, and Christmas is a dark season for many people, I have been praying to him that he may intercede on behalf of all those who feel like they’re drowning.
I remember that when he was a young child, his parents died and he gave all of his wealth away to the poor and dedicated himself to the local church.
There are more stories I know of but not many details: St Nick saving the lives of 3 boys killed by an innkeeper; saving the lives of some innocent men
Merry Christmas and may we all be moved to greater love, generosity, and righteousness as we remember the birth of our Savior.

❄️ Winter Holiday Special Edition ❄️
Saint Nick is generally thought to have been a real person whose tradition of secret gift giving created the Santa Claus mythos. He was a bishop in the late 200's to early 300s, and is considered the patron saint of many things, including sailors, merchants, children, and toymakers.
The depiction of Santa Claus as a jolly rosy-cheeked plump old fellow with white hair and a big white beard who drives a sleigh pulled by flying reindeer most likely originated in whole or in part from the poem, A Visit From Saint Nicholas, also known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."
Personally I think Santa Claus would enjoy having a tulpa to talk to on his long night journey visiting every house all around the world, but Saint Nicholas might be more wary. The idea of Santa Claus having The Grinch as a tulpa is hilarious to me though!

Blessed Feast! Happy Saint Nicholas Day!
We are familiar with the tradition of Father Christmas in some regards, the more common name is Santa Claus in the United States. How familiar are you with Saint Nicholas of Myra, the real person that would be known as Father Christmas/ Santa Claus? Did you know that his feast day is December 6th?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saint Nicholas of Myra was of Greek descent and early Christian bishop, he became the Bishop of Constantinople. It was while he was Bishop that the first ecumenical council was held, also known as the First Council of Nicaea in 325. The discussion over the divinity of Christ became so heated that Saint Nicholas is reported to have physically struck a fellow priest, Arius, for heretical theology.
This is far different from the man we are familiar with as a Wonder-worker. He was known as a secret gift giver, and there is held the tradition of leaving out children’s shoes for Saint Nicholas to fill with tokens. It is said that he was born into a wealthy family, and after the death of his parents he gave up his wealth for his faith. Saint Nicholas is often attributed to children, this is because many of his miracles centered around children. One of his earliest incidents recorded was when he rescued three girls from being forced into prostitution by dropping bags of gold in their homes for their dowry. Other stories mention calming storms, saving soldiers from a wrongful execution, and destroying a demonic tree. It was after his pilgrimage to Egypt and Palestine that he became Bishop of Myra and was imprisoned by Diocletian but was released with the accession of Constantine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saint Nicholas was best known for his generosity and kindness, especially to children and the poor. The action of leaving out shoes or placing out stocking is a long standing Christmas tradition to be filled by the patron saint of sailors. Saint Nicholas is venerated in Catholic, Orthodox, and Episcopal churches. However, the image of Saint Nicholas is recognized by many winter season traditions throughout Europe, America, and other parts of the world.

Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Antarctica
A wooden Orthodox church was consecrated in 2004 in the harsh ice of Antarctica. Since then, the Divine Liturgy has been celebrated year-round in the middle of the white desert at the edge of the earth.
Peter and Valery took a blessing from Patriarch Alexy II and began collecting donations for the construction of the church. Over the three years of fund-raising, the church bells were cast and the iconostasis was prepared by artists from Palekh. In 2002, a cross was erected on the site of the future church on Mount Irina, above the Bellingshausen station.  On January 25 of the same year, a Divine Liturgy was first celebrated in Antarctica, praying for all the polar explorers who had perished here.
Finally, in 2004 the construction began. The wooden church was cut down and assembled in Altai. The materials used were cedar and larch, which become as strong as metal over time to endure the harsh Antarctic frosts and hurricane winds. Then the church was disassembled, with the logs numbered and transported by ship to King George Island (Waterloo) in Antarctica, where the Russian Bellingshausen station is located. In a few months, the church was assembled without a single nail and secured from the inside with steel chains to make it more stable on the cliffs. To avoid legal complications, it was formally registered as a mission of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra.
Peter Zadirov planned to consecrate the church (as he had already done in his homeland) in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of sailors and travellers. But God arranged things differently. The first Divine Liturgy, celebrated at the Bellingshausen station before the construction of the wooden church, was served in a plain metal container. The only icon on the table used as the altar was a small plastic image of St. Andrei Rublev’s Holy Trinity. Shortly before the service, this icon had been purchased in a Catholic shop in Punta Arenas, Chile by one of the construction sponsors travelling to Antarctica. This was seen as an omen, and the Antarctic church was subsequently consecrated in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity.
The consecration was performed on February 15, 2004 by Bishop Feognost (Guzikov), who was then vicar of the Trinity Sergius Lavra. Hieromonk Kallistrat (Romanenko) became the first serving priest in this church. Later, Father Kallistrat was chosen to be Bishop of Gorno-Altai and Chemal. But he did not leave his pastoral care of this church, and to the present day, Vladyka personally appoints priests to serve in Antarctica.
Surprisingly enough, it was in Antarctica that many polar explorers first came to God. On the next day after the church was consecrated, the Sacrament of Baptism was administered. The first to be baptized were the head of the Bellingshausen station, Oleg Sakharov, and the driver-mechanic Alexander Solovyov.
Oleg Sakharov later said that during difficult winter seasons and long polar nights, the station workers needed a place where they could come at any time to relieve their stress: “The church, whose warmth could be felt even by touching its logs, became such a place.”

Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.
The icon of St Nicholas will become a beautiful home decor or a great gift for any believer. This is one of the most venerated saints in the whole Christian world – his mercy, generosity, and kindness are enough to help all the needy, sick, and suffering. You can pray in the presence of his image when you need heavenly protection from temptations and evil.

Saint Nicholas is a patron of children, merchants, innocently convicted, unmarried girls, and sailors. He helps to reconcile with loved ones, heals from sicknesses and addictions, helps to find family happiness and to raise healthy children.

May the blessing of the Lord be upon you!

SAINT OF THE DAY (December 6)
Tumblr media
On December 6, the faithful commemorate a bishop in the early church who was known for generosity and love of children.
Born around the late third or fourth century in Lycia, Asia Minor, St. Nicholas of Myra is more than just the inspiration for the modern day Santa.
As a young man, he is said to have made a pilgrimage to Palestine and Egypt in order to study in the school of the Desert Fathers.
On returning some years later, he was almost immediately ordained Bishop of Myra, which is now Demre, on the coast of modern day Turkey.
The bishop was imprisoned during the Diocletian persecution. He was only released when Constantine the Great came to power and made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire.
One of the most famous stories of the generosity of St. Nicholas says that he threw bags of gold through an open window in the house of a poor man to serve as dowry for the man’s daughters, who otherwise would have been forced into prostitution.
The gold is said to have landed in the family’s shoes, which were drying near the fire.
This is why children leave their shoes out by the door, or hang their stockings by the fireplace, in the hopes of receiving a gift on the eve of his feast.
St. Nicholas is associated with Christmas because of the tradition that he had with the custom of giving secret gifts to children.
It is also conjectured that the saint, who was known to wear red robes and have a long white beard, was culturally converted into the large man with a reindeer-drawn sled full of toys because in German, his name is “San Nikolaus,” which almost sounds like “Santa Claus.”
In the East, he is known as St. Nicholas of Myra for the town in which he was bishop.
But in the West, he is called St. Nicholas of Bari because, during the Muslim conquest of Turkey in 1087, his relics were taken to Bari by the Italians.
St Nicholas is the patron of children and sailors.
His intercession is sought by the shipwrecked, by those in difficult economic circumstances, and for those affected by fires.
He died on 6 December 346.

WE CELEBRATE THE NEPTUNALIA AND HONOR ANTINOUS LINKS TO NEPTUNE
Tumblr media
THE 23rd of July is the ancient Roman Neptunalia festival, when Romans honored Neptune with feasting and frivolity. Although identified with the Greek Poseidon, god of the sea, the Roman Neptune was originally god of fresh water and prayed to at this time of year to prevent drought. Coins minted by a priest of Antinous in Corinth show Antinous with Neptune/Poseidon.  More clues to the link between Antinous and Neptune come from the Black Sea coast. Experts working at a dig on the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria say they have found a well-preserved altar to Poseidon/Neptune which suggests the surrounding ruins were once a major temple to the god of the seas. Archaeologists found the building in front of the medieval fortified wall of the seaside town of Sozopol, according to Bozhidar Dimitrov, director of Bulgaria’s National History Museum. It is a little-known fact that Antinous was associated in a gay context with the classical god of the seas, called Poseidon by the Greeks and Neptune by the Romans. Coins minted by a priest of Antinous at Corinth named HOSTILIUS MARCELLUS (from whom our own Julien Hostilius Marcellus takes his priestly name) show Antinous as Neptune/Poseidon. It is a reference to the myth that Poseidon became enthralled with another marine male deity, Nerites, who was said to be the handsomest of all males on Earth, in the Heavens or in the Seas.
Tumblr media
The sexual union of Poseidon and Nerites produced Anteros, god of requited love. In those days, few people could read or write, but everyone knew these myths. So anyone who held one of these Antinous/Poseidon coins could "read" the gay symbolism. So any discovery concerning Neptune/Poseidon is of great interest to us, since the dig could ultimately reveal Antinous-related artefacts. At the Sozopol site, Dimitrov said that the numerous pieces of marble found during excavations indicate that the temple was destroyed after the declaration of Christianity as the official religion of the Roman empire in 330 AD. The structure was partially pulled down and partially reconfigured as a Christian house of worship dedicated to a Christian saint, whose iconography was similar to that of the ancient god Neptune. Dimitrov said that in Sozopol, there was a simiar example of how a temple to the Thracian horseman in the centre of the old town was converted into a church dedicated to Saint George, riding a horse to slay a demon dragon. He said, according to a report by local news agency Focus, that in the case of the temple to Neptune – the god of the sea – the time of its destruction saw the building of a Christian church a very short distance away, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of fishermen and sailors.

To be fair I despise Christmas as well - but Saint Nicholas, patron of prostitutes, children, travellers, sailors, archers, falsely accused and repentant thieves is my second most revered saint(outside of any system, I am not christian or anything remotely resembling), only surpassed by Saint Anthony, patron of lost things, lost people and lost souls, since I am all three.

Celebrating Saint Nicholas - Celebrating Christmas at the Duck Family - Scrooge as Saint Nicholas and Glomgold as Krampus
Since the holidays are coming, what can I not do in terms of traditional customs related to Christmas. In European countries, especially among Catholics, St. Nicholas is celebrated every December 6 (for Orthodox Christians it is only on December 19, otherwise on the 6th according to the Julian calendar), otherwise one of the most important Christian saints who is the patron saint of sailors as well as the patron saint of families and good children . Yes, Saint Nicholas is a saint from the fourth century and yes, he is actually a real Santa Claus, as well as Father Christmas, as the legends surrounding him are still attached to this day. Sounds familiar, right?
Although I'm late, I definitely drew Scrooge McDuck dressed as Saint Nicholas and Flintheart Glomgold as Krampus for Donald's nephews and Daisy's nieces to give presents, if they were good. And Donald's nephews (Huey, Dewey and Louie) and Daisy's nieces (April, May and June Duck - Dutch version, which in my opinion is the best version of Daisy's nieces) rejoice together with presents and the arrival of Christmas. Except Huey opened the presents so no one can see. And there are their parents, Uncle Donald and Aunt Daisy who enjoy the Christmas holidays together.
I hope you like this drawing and even though I'm late, I certainly wish you a Happy St. Nicholas Day as well as Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! Feel free to like and reblog this if you like it. And it is not allowed to use my ideas like these without my permission, and without mentioning me. Happy Holidays and music related to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOEQDTtsW-w

ABOUT ROGER POST EXECUTION
Tumblr media
yes, he died.
no, he's not technically alive.
roger, with how he sparked exploration, and revolution against the world government, was deified. much like how nika was prayed to in hopes he would free those in slavery, roger is a deity to pray to so sailors shall remain safe on the ocean. he is a patron saint, much like saint nicholas to early modern sailors in history.
most of the time, he's no more than a spirit, watching over the pirates whom set out into the world due to his last words. sometimes, he's able to be corporeal, though that's very rare. he once appeared to rayleigh, much to the old mans' shock, and he only recently appeared to ( @/sillygums' ) luffy.
he technically can not mess with the course of fate, but he tries to.
