an insanely under appreciated aspect of smt5 is the showcasing of different kinds of relationships. for as messy as the plot is, seeing each human and demon relationship dynamic was neat and something i think is lacking in mainline. last to ever do it was 4a but not nearly to the same scope. i also like how not all of them are romantic or healthy despite pretty much being a soulmate au.
yes it could be handled better but that’s actually the fault of the story or lack there of, and though there’s a real possibility mandatory new girl with edgy backstory could defy it all and render that theming obsolete, i’m hoping it gets expanded upon or gets more focus.

[Pre-SMTVV doodles, so I guess Canon of Creation doodles]
(technically no spoilers dw)

So I made these before the new game came out, as hype, because I actually love the SMTV characters, and I was hoping to see them get the justice they deserve.
Especially these two, omg their friendship dynamic would be so!!!! (for any TGAAC fans, they are so Asoryuu, I sweaarrr)
I wish we saw more of them being friends before everything started, even though I know that really can't be feasible with this story- So I'll just continue to imagine their silly antics (delusional)
Please, do take some them art as a result 🤲 I care for them so.
[Anyway SMTV Vengeance route spoilers bellow-]
Guys what the hell was thaaaat-
Technically not done with the Shinagawa section so I don't know what they'll do with Tao's character yet BUT GOD
On one hand they speedran Sahori's plot even more so, but on the other, they?? Actually fleshed it out more?? And it feels way better, and I really like it?? Explain that to me, IDK-
But Tao, I'm glad she's getting this development, and she works really well in opposition with Yoko.
Am I okay or normal about the whole school area bit? Absolutely not, they actually made me believe they weren't doomed, Lilith isss enemy number one.
Will I ever recover from this? Absolutely not.
If I get more of Sahori and Tao I think my heart will perish, beware.

i saw someone hc that it wasn't the mc who killed sahori, but aogami, and well. i have some thoughts on that. thoughts below the cut:
first of all, the nahobino hugs her just before it kills her. this tells me that it was the mc who did it. there is indication that the mc and sahori knew each other prior to the lahmu incident, whether it was personally or simply due to the fact that they both knew tao. this factor may not have played into the decision to hug her, but i personally believe that it at least played a part.
building off of that, i like to think that the mc was the one who made the decision because he has humanity. aogami, at this point, is simply an ai (i believe) and would not have understood the idea that sahori would have needed comfort in her last moments. the mc, however, can understand her pain.
she was influenced by lahmu to kill two of her classmates -- and, sure, they had been tormenting her for a long time, but as soon as lahmu releases his control over her, she expresses immediate remorse over the fact that they are dead as a result of her negative feelings towards them. and, on top of that, lahmu uses her body to kill the nahobino -- killing both aogami and the mc in the process -- and then to kill tao, her best friend. when she shakes lahmu's control before killing the nahobino again, she shakes her head at it, as if to say that's enough -- it's too late.
and what does the nahobino do in response? it calmly walks towards her, wraps an arm around her, and kills her. and then it proceeds to hold her until she says her thanks and disappears.
additionally, i noticed something interesting in this scene -- we don't see the nahobino's face. well, the interesting thing to me is that we almost see its face, but not enough to see what kind of expression it's making.

of course, we know by this point that the nahobino is far less expressive than the mc is, so i can probably accurately guess that it was as inexpressive as ever, but i do believe that this decision to almost show the nahobino's face without actually showing what expression it was making was a symbolic choice. the way that the nahobino -- or the one i assume to be its main pilot, the mc -- is feeling is left up to interpretation here.
but, based on a later conversation with miyazu, we can guess that having to kill sahori was an emotionally exhausting task -- and understandably so. up until this point, your only opponents have been demons. you have never had to kill a human. and, that aside, tao had begged the nahobino to take her into da'at with her to save sahori -- and now both of them are dead, one by the nahobino's own hand. it was essentially a doomed rescue mission.
tldr: i assume that the decision to kill her was mainly out of necessity due to aogami's analysis of the situation, but the way in which it was done shows that the mc was the one who did it.
