one of my favorite bits about forrest's whole deal is that he's coming from what's safe to assume a longass background in the entertainment industry but in a much larger and complex scale than what he's dropped in when we play, so narratively he can come across as outright rude and gruff with constantly comparing the town to a big city and absolutely zoning out when people talk to him, but 1) he's openly homesick af, 2) outside of work, he's in what's an incredibly different environment than where he's lived for decades, and 3) he might not actually be used to the majority of his coworkers being as nice as peggy and the others seem to be. others in their positions may generally have bad reputations where he comes from, and he was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop and their true colors to show. whistling night accelerated his realizing that at least with some of them, they genuinely are just cool.

my gf and i are trying to figure this out and since neither of us have a solavellan inquisitor i figured Why Not Poll?

we're both enjoying him more as a character this time around in general & the interactions are more interesting from our side of things between him & rook but i've seen some Very mixed opinions on the romance aspects & in particular with regards to this game apparently being a solavellan 'love letter' (which is. evidently not the case??)

anyway yeah if anyone would like to expand on this for us that would be swell, this game succeeds in some places & fails in others and we're not sure where to categorize this part of it

just saw a post by goobiestar where tigerclaw has been put on babysitting duty and they doodled him surrounded by tiny babies thinking "i cant believe bluestar is making me babysit a bunch of drooling pathetic whiny pieces of--" and with bonefall tigerstar being a genuinely good dad (at least when his babies were tiny) i have this image in my head of firepaw imagining this is what's happening and then it cuts to tigerclaw calmly playing teeterstrike with the babies

I'm telling a super different story from the other guys in my orbit LMAO, I've noticed that also. A lot of my.... fellow satellites? Companion Comets. Peripheral Planets. Lean into the comedy angle of Tigerclaw being a nasty little boy

I especially love that one comic (I think it's Blimbo?) Where he sees his younger sibs and just starts kitty-smacking them like a real cat lmao. Top tier. If the punchline is "KITTY SMACK" you'll kill me every time.

But yah BB!Tigerclaw is really important to understand as like... a guy. Just a shitty guy, has some good things about him, but ultimately the darkness within him is run-of-the-mill. He isn't special. Firestar comes to understand that any one of the dozens of assholes in his life could have become Tigerstar-- and that's TERRIFYING.

Evil is mundane and common. Goodness is complicated and unique.

I already hc that Anders and Justice keep their respective mage and warrior specializations even after the merge, so usually Justice goes all out using the staff as a weapon because, Anders doesn't have swords and shields lying around. But I've been thinking, maybe mage Hawke also has some sort of tricks up in their sleeve called smash and that's just them beating them all with their staff. You can almost always tell if it was Hawke who did the beating or not, because obviously sword wounds generally don't cause concussions. Hawke is buff because swinging a staff for magic is one thing, swinging it for a crushed skull is another.

I've seen so much of "oh Su went behind Lin's back and let Korra follow Aiwei even after the sisters made up". And yeah, absolutely shitty behaviour. And huge breach of Lin's trust.

But also why do people ignore Lin immediately pivoting to accusing Suyin of working for a terrorist organisation that almost kidnapped the Avatar, almost killed multiple people, including Suyin's guards AND her sons. Lin's vendetta against Suyin in this instant was completely irrational, especially that without Suyin, they never would've rescued Korra. And yet she still goes on with it.

And frankly, if I were Suyin, I would also have just not told Lin how I really felt because it made their reconciliation feel like such an empty gesture.
