You know those AU's where the Batfam finds or learns about either hidden or thought to be dead Al Ghul Danny! with a deaged/daughter Dani (Ellie) (I should know, I created a few of those storylines) but what if, now hear me out, what if instead of them finding Danny first its Talia.

Do I want Talia discovering her thought to be dead son to be alive? Yes. Do I want her to find him while investigating Amity Park when the League gets reports of 'Lazarus creatures/water'? Yes.

DO I WANT HER TO KNOCK ON THE FENTON'S DOOR, fully ready to pretend/honey talk her way into the house to uncover what the Fenton's know, ONLY TO MEET A LITTLE ELLIE?!

Ellie whose eyes and hair look like a copy of her Beloved but she can see bits and pieces of herself as well. Talia knows the child in front of her was not fully her's though but everything makes sense when she hears a voice, a voice she hasn't heard in ages but as a mother just knows, speak out.

I’ve talked about this before but imagine what it’s like for someone in a country/place where eliot is Top Most Wanted and then your tech guy finds a breakout star baseball player on their visual scanner that looks EXACTLY like spencer. but…there’s no way that’s him, right???

and then the next year it happens again but this time it’s some one hit wonder country singer kenneth crane that has like 78 tween-run fangirl blogs dedicated to him. you see a grainy video of him being chased by a horde of screaming teenage girls and ??? no way Eliot Last Thing You’ll Ever See Spencer is a country singer star just. signing pictures of his face right…?

a few months later your intern shows you footage of an eliot lookalike who is in san lorenzo talking about how there is dog fighting in the presidential palace and you just. sigh. because of course. a scant few days later the political geography of the country changes drastically and damien moreau is imprisoned. …interesting

and then a year of silence goes by. he still shows up as blips on the radar but he must have a good hacker working for him because his tracks on the internet are expertly erased.

every time you ask through interagency channels some random interpol guy talks in (condescending?) riddles at you and it also somehow feels like he’s threatening you

and then your friend who recently got into foreign hockey teams sends you a dropyourgloves video of someone called jacques the bear. you immediately get a headache (and watch some more videos because even you can admit this guy is a good hockey player)

and you know he’s a Bad Guy but it’s been admittedly a bit entertaining seeing what claim to fame he will come upon next. and his most recent actions over the few years make you wonder.

a few months later your phone pings because multiple heads of state evacuated from DC. the reason? eliot spencer was in town. you hear two days later a bioterrorist was taken down by… the report was redacted. your hacker tells you spencer and two teammates were behind the successful operation. which, huh.

not even a full year later it is released that spencer is dead and… you don’t know how to feel.

So Sterling took Hope home to "meet" his kids. At first, she was nervous, but as soon as she saw them, she knew exactly who they were 😭 Things went pretty well with Phoenix, they were both happy to see each other, but Pandora kept her distance and wanted nothing to do with Hope after that first surprise hug 😔

Moments in Leverage (2008) that I definitely feel Very Normal about:

In the Mile High Job when Hardison realizes he's about to hear his entire team die over comms his team's lives depend very immediately on him

In the 12-Step Job when Eliot and Hardison have to defuse the car bomb and Eliot's hand shakes

In the Beantown Bailout Job when Eliot tells Nate "I hope you know what you're doing" when he KNOWS he's about to fake his death. WHy would you do him like that lmao

Speaking of, the 5 seconds where Nate fully believes he just got Eliot killed. This may have been a formative moment for me, holy shit

The almost-kiss at the end of the Two Live Crew Job. Mostly because it's the only almost-kiss I've ever seen that doesn't give me second hand embarrassment. It's respectful of both parties and just... sad.

In the Lost Heir Job when Eliot spots the shooter and screams Nate's name.

Eliot's pretty much constant fear for Hardison's life in the Gone Fishin' Job which Hardison Does Not appear to pick up on at all

Also the rest of the team's faces when the bad guy is like "oh yeah, i had those guys 'taken care of' if you know what i mean". The way Parker's voice shakes when she confirms she hasn't heard from them

No seriously, Eliot's thought process very clearly being "Get on the train. Please just get on the train. Screw everything else, I need to get you out of danger first" when Hardison starts figuring things out and chooses doing the right thing over personal safety. And Eliot's face, even as he accepts and respects that choice.

Eliot spends another entire episode in basically constant fear in the Big Bang Job, except instead of loud and angry, he's quiet and still, and WHY don't they carry this more thoroughly into the San Lorenzo Job???? Nate puts on a very good "look at me, not him" show but not THAT good!!!

The Long Way Down Job. Parker wanting to do the right thing. Her conversation with Eliot. I'm not insane about this one so much as I'm just crying really hard.

The Van Gogh Job! Also crying very hard! Holy fuck

The round of hugs at the end of the Grave Danger Job

Literally all of Eliot's behavior after getting drugged in the Queen's Gambit Job lol. Hugging Hardison. Immediately pushing him away. "I bet you wanna punch some bad guys." "...You know where some are?"

The Rundown Job. Just. All of it.

Listen. I know it's just a story Nate's telling to push all of Sterling's buttons. But the very concept of Parker living just long enough to watch Hardison and Eliot die before she bleeds out too is AAAAAAAAAAA *blows up*

Also. Sterling's FURY at Nate for getting them killed. And he's not even angry he got played, once he figures it out. He's just. Exhausted and relieved and maybe kinda numb

the frame-up job is such a good episode in general but from sterling's pov. its stunning. he's watching his old partner who he has an intellectual hard-on for and his new hot thief girlfriend who is also insanely intelligent flirt w each other and generally be super hot in front of him ......... rough night for ppl w a thing for competence
