Estinien didn't notice it at first, but when he did a little seed of pride nestled itself on his sternum. The dragoon has learned easily and even before the two of them were so close that G'raha Tia's tail was a dead give away when the rest of the man insisted on being enigmatic.

Currently it was fluffed up slightly, curled just so as if to grip Estinien in any meaningful way. Estinien elected to not bring any attention to it, though occasionally he noticed it would continue its thrashing from side to side before ultimately taking place back vaguely around Estinien .

Reaching out Estinien paced a palm between G'raha's tense shoulders, smoothing his palm down as they walked and while he might've typically left it within the small of the other man's back he boldly smoothed his thumb over where spine met tail, smiling with amusement as the Mqio'te's ears swiveled and the blush bloomed across his cheeks. Every intention of seeking what exactly had G'raha had so riled.

"Easy-" Estinien admonished, a warm chuckle emanating from his chest as he felt Raha finally lean his full weight into him as they made their way fully to Estinien's quarters in Radz-at-han. The warmth was wet and even though Estinien had mostly acclimated with his own temperature, that of G'raha's as well as still vaguely uncomfortable.

"You're making me sweat," he mused affectionately with no move of his own to release the man, "Guess we'll have to run the bath when we get back, won't we?" he intoned, thumb dragging again at that junction of the tail with an affectionate look.

actually,,, thinking of demon brothers au where danny is born first but dies during the birth,,, he was alive long enough for the pits to bring him back but ra's decided the death itself was a sign that danny was weak and wouldn't be fit as the heir so they plan to just get rid of him. something/someone interferes and Somehow baby danny finds his way to amity where the fentons adopt him. But twist is that talia doesn't know danny was rescued and raises damian fully believing that her first son was dead. talia doesn't need another reason to be overprotective of damian, but this Would be another reason.

she finds out somehow after damian is with bruce and she specifically goes to them for help so Boom now there's a big search for danny. i think it'd be better if danny's real/first name wasn't daniel/danyal so it's a Tad harder for them to find him. i feel like this au would also work well with the amity blocked off from world trope too

anyway, i feel like this would be a fun au to explore danny being half ghost in! like maybe him being a halfie is directly related to going into the pits so young or him dying before he got to Live. idk,,, so many interesting routes an au like this could go

*wistful* Any Cor/Ardyn thoughts? I miss them.

So I've been thinking of canon lately and how delicious this ship is from a canon perspective.

Because look - on one hand you have a man that was born to be king, you have someone whose crown was once gold and brilliant who is now confined to darkness when he was supposed to be light. Ardyn had everything torn away from him, his crown, his lover, his kingdom, his brother and if this were a different world perhaps he could have thought it was a string of bad luck.

But he has confirmation, he has confirmation that he is supposed to die. That he is the villain in this story. He knows the path he was headed down was dark but if he hadn't been left to suffer from the gods whimsy it might have been different-

So on one hand you have Ardyn.

On the other hand you have Cor. Cor whose loyalty is etched into the marrow of his bones. Cor who has killed for King and Country and would die for them if only he had been afforded the right. You have Cor who has sworn his loyalty to the grandchildren of Somnus and has outlived (or will outlive) every King he has been set to guard.

"Immortal" they call him yet he can be cut down just the same. It's not his fault everyone is so terribly bad at attempting to kill him.

You have a man who has been changed almost beyond recognition from what was done to him (Ardyn) and you have a man who despite the tragedy that informed his life has remained steadfast in his goals and loyal to those who deserve it.

Which is to say: I need them to see reflections of themselves and shades of those they love in each other and then I need them to bitch and snarl and make out about it.
