it makes me sick to my stomach thinking about how spock — touch telepath, by the way — touches jim and accepts his touch so freely, almost without hesitation, but denies touch from others. like, okay, you can argue he has his cool vulcan telepathic shields on all the time, but, surely, surely, he can feel jim's mind buzzing, electric and agitated, brushing against his own. like humans brush hands with the one they like.

and he shouldn't think about it, but maybe he does. maybe in the quietness and stillness of his meditation, he feels the ghost of jim's psychic, burning, tingling. like lips feel hours later after a kiss. the memory of it.

but then, he's sure jim isn't even aware of all this. so he keeps touching him and letting himself be touched. and it could mean nothing.

kirbtober day 9 - anime

escargoon was my favorite when i was a kid

thinking about l’manburg having festivals commonly. niki giving out free treats to the kids as they run around barefoot. wilbur scolding fundy for running too close to the river and how he could’ve gotten seriously hurt if he fell in. people dance around booths of homemade creations and fresh vegetables for sale. a band plays lively music that streches from wall to wall. tommy makes flower crowns for his favourite citizens and tubbo makes an announcement about the space program’s progress, one day they could truly go to the moon. L’moonburg becomes a running joke between the attendees that night.

At the end they hold flags and set off fireworks, but the final act is everyone setting a paper lantern off into the sky. some are decorated with swirls and doodles, some left ready for change. but the lanterns went far, a sign to the greater smp that they were free after all. even if its just in their hearts.

god, okay. fuck. i hate to say that i really underatand where simon's coming from, like, with his misunderstanding of betty and their relationship. because, well, autism. he's obviously used to being alone and people thinking he's stupid and weird, and is just very passive in his approach to other people in general. i know that feeling. it's a barrier you build around yourself to get through a world that refuses to understand you, and by this point you're so used to getting burned from making social missteps that you eventually stop trying to vocalize your own feelings and desires, so you're perpetually waiting for the other person to make the first move so you can follow:

'this cool girl i met has read my work and is really into it, she's so smart and even sees things in it that i missed! and she really wants to come with me on this next expedition? oh wow, okay, great! i mean, she's so excited about it she basically dropped her own plans and invited herself along, so this is clearly something she really wants to do! who would i be to deny her that?'

'and wow is she ever great! on our expedition together she always knows how to handle obstacles, she doesn't even need my help! i really should be following her lead, she really knows what she's doing so much better than me! i'm so glad she wanted to be here and help me!'

'i can't believe we found the enchiridion together! but she doesn't want to come along with me and take credit for its discovery? even though she helped me out so much and is so incredible and i really really like her- wait!! i shouldn't say that last part!! that would be really weird!! i don't want to make things weird!! she had a good time, and since all of this was her choice i won't try to stop her or make her feel bad or do something she doesn't want to. best to keep it professional.'

'oh hey! she left a note for me in that book i was going to check out, god she's so funny-wait. oh my god, SHE thinks we had something special too??! she says she's going on that trip, but she wishes she could travel the world with me??! she even gave me her address so i can come find her??! okay, mesage received, I GOTTA GO TALK TO HER!!!'

'uh oh, i don't know what to say to her, i obviously said the wrong thing just now and she thinks i don't feel the same way. i know she feels embarassed about the letter. i'll tell her letter was great!! it was incredible!! i want her to know that i want exactly what she wants, and that i feel the same way about her, i'll even say it to her the same way she did!!'

all i'm saying is... from somebody of This specific perspective, i can totally see why he didn't question her not getting on the bus, dropping everything to come with him, and all of her other desicions she made in ooo:

'okay i'm FINALLY going to apologize to betty for how the crown made me scare her away 1000 years ago! wait, hang on, she seems really confused that i'm saying goodbye to her?'

'oh no, we're running out of time but she feels really bad about the fact that she left me!! no, it's okay!! i want you to know that love you, and i forgive you for leaving me!! please don't feel bad about it!!'

to him, betty is unquestionably strong, competent, capable, and confident in everything she does. if she didn't want to do something she simply wouldn't do it, much the same way that he knows she would move heaven and earth if she wanted to make something happen; and who would he be if he didn't give her the chance to let her try? he simply doesn't PERCIEVE her to be insecure, overly self sacrificing, and in need of him to be a lot less passive about her choices, the way that someone from the outside looking in obviously can.

Big rant

Being an American is, very stressful right now...

I was excited to take advantage of working from home once we move so I can use the apartment gym and cook everyday before work. Which, I guess I still can it's just going to be harder. As an autistic person that experiences a high level of stress around people, it's so so so exhausting. I was banking on having the energy... but now idk if I'll be able to. Working from home has been a huge deal for me. And now that evil man is forcing federal employees back in the building full time. I know it's not the most horrible thing in the list of horrible things. Rolling back protections against discrimination due to gender and sex is pretty nasty. But I hope all my coworkers that voted for him are fucking happy. And I hate that some of them are work friends.

I do my job. I'm a good employee, I get shit done, and I do it correctly. I readily help when asked, I'm an asset to my team. But I, and probably a lot of people are going to become absolutely lazy and prove that working in the building doesn't make us more efficient. People that work from home work exclusively with digital forms. I haven't touched paper in years. This is so fucking stupid. He's just attacking us because he hates anything to do with the federal government. Look I'm not a fan either but it's a job and it pays my bills!

I have the displeasure of being almost physically unable to cry, even when I really want to :D I wish I was able to expel all the negative feelings and just let it all out right now...

one thing i'm fascinated with is how after betty made her wish and reset the crown, gunter/orgalorg seemed to physically FUSE with the crown, making it so it can never be taken off or used by anyone else (simon) in ooo ever again

farmworld finn was cured of his crown curse by prismo (in the funniest fucking way to address an animation error ever) removing the crown and placing it back on corpse simon's head before the bomb detonated again, removing it from the playing-field of the farmworld reality im assuming

my guess is that in every universe they venture to they're going to find one reason or another why simon can't access the crown again, all as an extension of betty's wish

... and going back to the subject of her wish

rewatching 'come along with me' got me thinking again. the line from betty's failed wishes to "banish golb from ooo" or for him to "disappear", that golb is "too powerful, even for the crown", it makes me think her assessment of the situation wasn't completely accurate. we know that wish magic is super powerful, but in the crown's case it needed to resonate with the deepest desire of the wearer - which in betty's case was having "the power" to keep simon safe

prior to her wish, she referred to golb's magic as "the most powerful force in the universe", which she was trying to use for the purpose of saving him. i'm wondering if maybe the pre-requisite for making a wish to banish golb/have control over him—the "most powerful force in the universe"—would be having to re-write reality itself to give someone else a level of power above even golb. with that in mind, this now kind of looks like a being above golb taking over his mind and possessing him instead of a straightforward fusion of the two

one thing keeping me rolling with this theory is that in the flash of golb before accidentally portal-ing cake, we see pre-wish golb's eyes flash, not the eyes of golb as we last saw them, and we do see them in prismo's time room.

my conspiracy theory that im definitely wrong about is that i dont think she actually fused with golb, i think she's actually something beyond comprehension now: a force in the universe that can control even the most powerful beings like golb, hold dominion over the multiverse, she can overwrite them and force them to obey her one and only command: get your fucking hands off my cringefail malewife this instant

one thing that completely and utterly baffles me is how people can play through the bring your daughter to work day but and still delude themselves into thinking that wheatley is nice. like okay maybe i can understand the lack of media comprehension anywhere else bc he backtracks a lot. but he does not say ONE nice thing about those childrens science projects at ALL. and find every way to belittle them. like come onnnnn. you have to see that right? right?? whats the excuse??
