Dear Boxten, do you happen to know why some of the doors in the lower levels happened to be... blocked off?

When Gardenview first shut down.. very few of us were aware. Most of them we weren't allowed in unless it was open and we had a reason to go to them.. others we couldn't go to at all.

By the time we realized that no one was coming back to us, it was too late. Without any maintenance, the elevator doors to most of them were jammed shut. And for other places, it was all locked up for protection, but of course, we didn't have the keys.

In the end, we could only access three rooms, the diner, the projection room and one of the warehouses.

But Dandy managed to bust into them! Somehow.. so that's where we're headed, in order to help Shelby! Or- Shelly? I don't know..

[ P03 met Carter (C4-RTER, but that's a lot to write out.) when he was out one day looking for parts around his factory, he noticed a body there. Carter was just kind of lying there, clearly dying. His body had been like EXPLODED by the wires (SCP 229, for context, but I'm trying to figure out how to make it fit with Inscryption.)

[ P03 was like "What the fuck" and dragged him inside, managing to help him through it via building him a new arm, most of his face and such, using the wires inside of Carter's body to stop the bleeding. ]

[ At first, their dynamic was very aggressive, I'd think. With Carter dealing with immense physical pain of having his body literally exploded from the inside by a hivemind clump of active computer wires he was a pretty big asshole and P03 wasn't in the mood to deal with that, obviously. Eventually, they of course, grow to getting used to each other's company. ]

[ Soon it turns to "Hey, if you're not doing anything, want to help me around the factory while you figure out to use the wires you're stuck with now?" and "I can't sleep.. can you project some stars on the ceiling or some shit?" "Fine, but only for a while." until P03 catches himself kind of staring often, once Carter finally falls asleep. ]

[ Carter has an organic brain and heart still, somehow his most vital organs survived pretty well. Because of this though, he needs to sleep. Can't go outside often because of his exposed wiring being pretty sensitive to the cold. ]

[ P03 cares a lot about Carter but is not the type to admit it unless he has to. (The recent doodles I've posted were comfort because of some IRL stuff that happened, so think of them as canon in the future, not main story?) He's not the greatest with emotion and shown to be a bit of a dick so I'd like to think of "Go away, you're annoying." is his way of "I love you." ]

[ Realistically, it's probably falls first/falls harder. I don't think P03 would like Carter much at all at first, viewing him as a constant "getting in my way of work" while Carter's just bored and hanging around since his entire life is pretty much GONE. ]

[ I love them. Now they live comfortably, very much so, building stuff together, having a love that they can't quite WORD if that makes sense. A mutual companionship that blossoms over time. Annoyance to friendship to "Hey, you're cool, can I kiss your screen?" "Ugh. Okay I guess." ]

[ EDIT: Yes, they do have a kid, but it was more of a "Hey wake up Carter, I made this." "Is that a fucking baby." "Yes." "Why"?? "I thought people in.. relationships did this?" "P03...." (P03 stole some of Carter's wires while he slept to make it "theirs.") ]

Uhhhhhhhhh welllll maybe? I dunno. I've had a really rough time recently due to the... YKNOW.

It's sometimes hard to be happy when a massive part of who you were gets ripped away from you. And I know it's something stupid to be sad about but it still kinda hurts, yknow? Soda was my coping mechanism after the incident. Sure, it wasn't the greatest, but it helped more than drugs or alcohol ever would. But while I was in rehab, it felt like I was being brainwashed (? I dunno if thats the right word for it but it feels right) into believing that the incident wasn't that bad and my coping mechanisms were shit. They downplayed the effects of what happened, blamed it on me being over dramatic and sent me home with a bottle full of water. The more I think about it, the more I see how it slightly fucked me up. So, nah, I don't think I'm exactly "happy". But as of recently, I have been feeling... better. Although I've been overdramatically sad, I've started realizing the little things in life that make me feel better. Like when emizel asks me to play smash! Or when the Demonz hang out at the hideout with me. Or when Hot Cheeto brings me small rocks and shit! All of these things (and more!) give me something to look forward to when I wake up in the morning. They make my day significantly less shitty and actually bring a smile to my face, which is more than rehabs done for me anyways. So, basically, I may not be happy, but I totally am better!

Idk if any of that shit was coherent but idc >:) you guys get to suffer with my shit storytelling skillz :D (<- the face of a man who didn't reread any of what they wrote)

(Also please go to Rehab if you think need it. My experiences with it are NOT universal. I've met others who have gone and it's changed them for the better. YOURE SO ONTO SOMETHING. he’s so serious about pda because he considers it all very private & he has an image to keep up around castle black, so pda is very limited and careful. he’d never ignore you in public, obviously, he just prefers to keep his hands to himself in public (hard for him if you’d believe it)

the pinkies thing is so cute i can’t. so freaking cute. and he’s usually the one who initiates it too, not because you don’t want to but just because of the whole pda (and dare i say ygritte) thing, you know it’s best case scenario when he has control of it. whatever, ANYWAYS. i think he does it most when you’re both atop the wall, walking around, standing and looking over to the forest etc. s4 ep9 “the watchers on the wall” you both linking pinkies before the horn blows and he sends you to hole up somewhere safe :(( KILL MYSELF ABOUT IT

and i’ve touched on this before but. jon snow sensitive hips. it doesn’t matter how it happens — accidentally bumping into his hip & your hand comes to lightly soothe it a bit as an apology, or like you said, full on brushing against it (accidentally, of course) he just short circuits for a second there. if it’s just you two alone, he’s sucking in a quick breath as he freezes. now he’s gone silent and is full on staring at you as you talk. but JESUS if it’s around OTHER PEOPLE. GAH.

he’s soooo cutting his own sentence off, stuttering a bit while trying to regain his composure, and eyes flicking between the people/person he’s talking with to where you’re standing now. even worse if you don’t even notice and you’re just walking away like it’s nothing. WHEW. getting that man all worked up over nothing… jail. jail time.

he’s sooooo silently embarrassed and also can’t stop thinking about it. what you choose to do about that is up to you girlfriend 🙂‍↕️

One aspect of ZoSan that Westerners may not get the full nuance of is the concept of “うちの”, literally “of our/my household”. There’s a reason why the EA fandom (mainly Chinese from my POV) disproportionally ship ZS over other ships, to the point where even dudebros hop the joke.

So there’s this Chinese saying that means “be strict to yourself but lenient towards others” which is seen as model behaviour for respected individuals. I don’t know if there’s an equivalent idiom in Japanese but both Koreans and Japanese hold similar attitudes towards treatment of self vs treatment of others in society. Here’s the fun part: thanks to collectivist culture, one’s “self” extends to your immediate family too. Since you’re seen in conjunction with your family, if you’re head of the house and your “inferiors” misbehave in public, it reflects badly on you as a person. That’s why strict parenting is more normalised in EA culture, because controlling how your kids behave is more or less the same as controlling how you yourself behave. This is also related to how tough love is a more common form of affection in EA families, there’s a sentiment of “being able to be mean to you means we’re close, being too nice means I see you as a stranger.”

You might now see how this relates to the Strawhats in general (see: Nami beating up members for acting out of line). Sanji is a funny one coz he was sort of a maternal figure secondary to Nami early on in the series. Women aside, there’s a difference in how he treats men on his crew and “outsiders” (e.g. Ace). He’s actually not rude towards men, it’s just that we predominantly see his interactions with the crew! Since his crew is his family, he can be strict with them like how he’s strict with himself.

How does this relate to ZS in particular? Well, it’s because Zoro is closest to him on the self—others sphere. Luffy is his captain so despite the usual bickering he has to obey him to some degree. Usopp and Chopper are younger and weaker, so Sanji has a responsibility to take care of them and show generosity as an “elder”. Franky, Brook and Jinbe are way older than him so there has to be some degree of respect when interacting with them. Nami and Robin are Women. This only leaves Zoro, who is his equal in both age, power and hierarchical position on the crew. Essentially, Sanji has every right to hold Zoro to the exact same standard as he would himself. And given that Sanji is extremely harsh to himself, he’s harsh to Zoro too.

This is why there was virtually no discourse over the “Sanji calls Zoro a liability” moment in the EA fandom. The unspoken context was that Sanji was apologising to Jinbe for Zoro, who wasn’t performing his best. And since Jinbe is relatively new to the crew and also much older than Sanji, it feels like a mother/wife apologising for her son/husband?? It’s giving “I’m sorry my Zoro embarrassed us”?? It’s giving “Zoro is my responsibility”?? On the flip side Zoro absolutely does this to Sanji too. I can’t name a specific anime moment but in one of the mobile game collabs he said something like “sorry our cook caused trouble for you”. The specific wording was うちのコック. (They both think they’re managing the other lmao I hate them)

Tldr: Zoro and Sanji see themselves as one household unit 😭 hence the bickering and bluntness and lack of pretences in general.

It’s easy to fall into catastrophe mindsets but I think something that’s very helpful and grounding is expressing gratitude to the people who want to fight for the same things you do. Art is so precious & I’m so glad there’s such a huge overwhelming amount of people who feel the same way. Art is everything to me and I cherish my ability to share it with other people

yellowjackets fandom can we please talk about Callie. the poor neglected teenage girl.

Shauna never being there emotionally in any way because she was too hurt by the wilderness babys death that she couldnt be there for Callie.

Callie asking Jeff "am I like mom?" because she was scared of her.

Shauna seeing no issue whatsoever in telling other parents "I don't even like my daughter."

The only time Callie and Shauna bonded was when Callie did an awful thing at school and Shauna found it hilarious. It literally got Callie suspended but she was happy she did it because she finally got some kind of approval from Shauna.

Callie just trying to get answers of what's going on because she has NO clue and no one's telling her anything. Shauna THREATENING her own child saying "Go. Go now. Join your father, before I do something I regret." Callie's answer being "I just want to be close to you ... I thought you wanted that, too."

Lottie telling Callie "You're not here because of some tape, you're here because you want to understand your mother. (...) Truth. I will tell you ANYTHING you want." meaning that she'll tell Callie everything that happened in the wilderness so she could understand her mom. The first thing out of Callie's mouth is "Does she just not love me?" Completely unrelated to the wilderness or anything that ever happened out there, she just wanted to be loved by her mom.

Lottie telling Callie she's exactly like her mom and talking about the wilderness, terrifying and angering Callie so bad that she pushes her down the stairs.

Your threads are very interesting.! Do you believe Sakura and suo will have conflict or rivalry? Or their dynamic will be kinda similar to killua and gon for example!

Hello! I’m very thankful you find my threads interesting, I put a lot of thought behind them, so this means a lot :)

To answer your question: I definitely think they will have some sort of conflict at a later point of the story. Specifically, one that will lead to a physical confrontation between the two.

As I’ve pointed out in my main Suo and Sakura analysis, the two are close; however their relationship feels disjointed compared to WBKs other dynamics since they cannot bring themselves to be properly vulnerable with people, much less with each other. It’s only in the unexpected moments where Suo reveals parts of his hidden self to Sakura (and the audience).

And whats the only way that they can properly learn to understand each other? Well, Umemiya says it himself during Shishitoren:

Heck, a potential fight between them has been hinted in that very same arc!

Sakura being the one to challenge a fight with Suo and the latter denying his request is very telling of their characters. Nii Satoru is a master at [subtle] foreshadowing through character dialogues and [visual] symbolism, so I believe this exchange was written with deliberate intent. After all, Sakura doesn’t go picking fights with people who haven’t done anything unjust. Though the extent of Suo’s mistreatment towards Kanuma can be debated…

I’m aware Nii sensei has stated in their interview given in Thailand that the trio wouldn’t get into a physical fight if they ever fell into conflict, but they never said anything about it’s individual dynamics >:)

About the possible Killua and Gon type dynamic: You’ll have to forgive me for any misinterpretations. It’s been a very long time since I’ve watched Hunter x Hunter (been due for a big catchup + rewatch), so I’m only basing my next thoughts from what I’ve seen so far.

From what I’ve understood and remember, Gon has a lack of self worth and Killua is a bit too eager to throw his life away (ie. they just dont have much self worth lol)—these two aspects of their characters interfere with their friendship even though their bond is very strong.

Their relationship is pretty different from Suo and Sakura’s, so I’m not sure who’d fit whom. I can see Suo being [somewhat] self-sacrificial as Sakura was in Noroshi. Or maybe Sakura (and Nirei too!) were Suo’s first real friends.

I can’t really say much right now because I’ve forgotten so many things that had happened in HxH (also im pretty behind on the story) . Sorry about that. Maybe when their relationship develops more, they’ll grow to be as close as Killua and Gon, just without the emotional angst :’)

Thats a real shame dude. Honestly sometimes it feels like rain world fans don't give a shit about its source material, esp compared to multiple other fandoms that actually do. It kinda feels like they wanna twist it into a completely different game sometimes.

I've also found myself becoming unreasonably bitter towards downpour, which sucks because I really do love the downpour DLC for making me actually pay attention to the game, but it also just brought a more mainstream audience that just doesn't care for the games source material

I’m really bummed that Rain World doesn’t hit the same for me anymore but I think that’s due to the mistake I made of going into the tag for it on here and having to witness such amazing takes as “Well maybe if the scavengers weren’t so mean then Artificer wouldn’t have attempted to wipe them all off the face of the planet in the first place, checkmate!”

hey since new sunday leaks pretty much confirms he’s going to join the astral express, i have a few (re: a lot of) things to say.

to start off, i honestly loved the idea of stellaron hunter sunday, but it just never sat right with me in a way? e.g. wouldn’t it be more fitting if he joined the astral express? that would grant him the freedom he longs for. unlike the stellaron hunters, who are bound by elio’s script and lack true "freedom," it’s somewhat ironic for sunday. 

the trapped charmony dove mentioned throughout penacony is a representation of sunday, so it's not a far fetch to assume sunday’s future character development will have a lot to do about metaphorical rebirth —which is a prominent theme in the astral express. (more on this later)

secondly, it is believed that elio invited sunday/predicted that sunday will join, and he has no choice but to do so. but that’s not all true. 

e.g in kafka’s story quest you can choose to help or reject her. if you chose not to help, it’s mentioned that elio foresaw a possibility that you rejected her —and in this case you made that possibility, a reality. 

elio might’ve invited sunday to join the stellaron hunters, but sunday doesn’t have to accept the offer; he can choose to make “not joining” a reality as well.

now for the astral express, the guiding principle is “letting go of your past, and taking control of your own life.” therefore, it’s reasonable to conclude that rebirth is prevalent in express members. relating this to sunday: 

he also has mentions of rebirth, which aligns with the express. 

moreover, jade’s lightcone: “yet hope is priceless”

despite her role as a debt collector, she demonstrates mercy by not putting a price on kindness and hope. this could suggest that at the end of penacony 2.3, she offers sunday hope and freedom without attaching a cost (ipc’s compromise) to it, allowing him to choose his own path now that he’s free and no longer confined —the beginning of his rebirth.

“so why does life slumber?”

the puppets in penacony grand theatre symbolise different stages in sunday’s life, but we are focusing on the final one.

the “unknown puzzle” may be referencing the main question asked in penacony —why does life slumber?

sunday has ultimately reached an answer (by trailblazer) to this question, that being by giving it a new meaning, as mentioned in his lc.

i'm guessing his “new life” involves discovering the answer to this question, and perhaps joining the express will provide the new meaning he’s seeking.

“if you are born weak, which god should you turn to for solace?” (absolutely banger line by the way) sunday cannot accept that the weak can manage on their own; those who are weak must seek guidance or comfort from a higher power to alleviate their perceived weakness.

so in the future, i hope when sunday joins the express, he will learn that even the weak can find strength, and that he will come to value their resolve.

I’ve been thinking of deleting this account— no this is not an April Fools prank, it’s genuine and real :,) I haven’t been interacted with in a while on here and I don’t have much motivation to draw a lot nowadays,,

also thinkin of maybe taking a break from drawing- some personal stuff is happening to me right now in my life, and it is the kinda stuff that is PRETTY serious,,,

I kinda feel like uhh,, due to some issues in the past btw, I feel like my art isn’t really appreciated that much no matter how much I show it or post it ^^;

I’ve also recently gone through some stuff with my friends. Problems that have left me stressed and guilty for no reason :,))) And I feel very heavy on the shoulders

i haven’t really thought it through yet, so unless something good happens for me, ig the decision will linger-
