Every year on March 12th, SD Gundam fans on Twitter post art in honor of "SD Gundam Day", which is the birthday of SD Gundam's creator, Kouji Yokoi and the mangaka of the Knight Gundam Story franchise, Hoshino Ryuichi.

This is the piece I did for today, and I wanted it to be focused on the Knight Gundam series since the new Knight Gundam work is coming for the 35th anniversary.

This is a franchise that has meant a lot to me and has helped me through difficult times in my life (specifically high school) and I genuinely hope both Yokoi-sensei and Ryuichi-sensei live long and happy lives.

When I flew into LAX on saturday the people next to me were from Poland and clearly had never been to Los Angeles before, and I know this because as soon as we got close to landing they were leaning over me and taking videos and pointing all excited.

So here is the punchline. Los Angeles is hideous. It's a cool city in some ways but it is NOT a pretty place. This is what it looks like landing at LAX:

And I just think this is so funny, because it's such a mythologized city. But this is the first thing you see when you arrive. Endless sea of gray and brown. Dirt and freeways.

But to people who have never been? That's the movie place! That's California, babey!

This blush is very opaque and vibrant when you first put it on! I created it with the intention of using the opacity slider to get the perfect level for each sim.

WOO000 ITS TIME TO POST SUN DUST REF SHEETSSS!!

We're sorry it took us a bit we've been feeling a bit shy about it, so here's all of SunDust's ref sheets as their story plays out!

SunDust; Child age

While Cobs still began very much like the canon version, SunDust melted the unsympathetic, cruel heart of his (somewhat no one changes THAT much).

Cobs found SunDust when they crashed on the planet, their calls intrigued him.

SunDust; Sunshine Host ver

SunDust works mostly in radio work, mostly working in a radio tower where

"something out there is always listening!"

SD very much hates interviews but Cobs says they're necessary..along with the mask.

SunDust: adult vers

SunDust often visits the hotel, at first it was to gain a closer connection to MP4, but would eventually meet their partners.

He loves his time there, and often wishes Cobs wouldn't make so many..comments on her "free time"

Sun d- Fall; Abducted

When SF's species found her; they were disgusted and under "new" management.

They found her, and punished her for a crime they had no decision in. They would do what they needed to survive, even if it meant the worst..

SunDust; post abduction

When Sundust came back (saved thanks to the shimmers) they cut off cobs almost entirely, as he had done things that came to light. Though things have changed, the poly gets them through day by day.

Rewatching San Andreas, I legitimately love this movie but man, they focus on San Francisco at the end because that was the bulk of the action

But there's the implied apocalypse part they don't talk about.

The entire CA coast is wrecked, LA and SD are likely as bad off as SF. The loss of life is apocalyptic.

The cities of Laughlin, Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City in NV/AZ were wiped off the map when Hoover Dam collapsed. Like they're GONE gone. Plus huge swaths of farmland in CA is also likely wiped out.

Las Vegas and indeed a good part of AZ and southern CA are kinda fucked with Lake Mead gone as they all depend on that water.

In fact the entire United States is several layers of fucked. Setting aside the economic catastrophe (CA is like, the 5th largest economy in the world), there's the fact CA supplies a lot of food to the rest of the US.
