Now that we have reached the last chapter of the year. It is time to do a 2020 roll call of what I like to call, “State of the Shippers”:
1. IzuOcha. Status: Placated.
-IzuOcha’s could celebrate several cute tidbits throughout the year. Mini moments as they say.
Anime Highlights: The OVA’s came in clutch with moments for shippers all around and IzuOcha is no exception. We got a cute tidbit where Izuku and Ochako bumped into each other and were flustered.
Tumblr media
Manga Highlights: Christmas kept on giving to this fandom as the AM doll Izuku gave Ochako made many appearances. A cute fist bump between the two was also exchanged and Mina was right there bouncing with y’all.
Heroes Rising: Izuku super man carried Ochako to safety. And was Angy she was injured. Fans could enjoy the small Lois Lane moment.
Troubling Signs?: Ochako said “I would like to be excluded from this narrative” when it comes to her feelings for Deku. She’s a hero damnit! So if they are in for something, probably won’t be while they are still in school.
II. DabiHawks. Status: Yikes.
- Dabi and Hawk’s very public breakup set this fandom in disarray but also kind of disayay?
Anime Highlights: None yet. This fandom was cruelly cock blocked by Bones. Sorry DabiHawks stans.
Manga Highlights: Where to begin, my goodness. With these fans, I guess the good and the bad is a plus in this homoerotic double agent relationship. We have the notion that Dabi may have known Hawks when they were kids, which may be a positive? Hori sure loves his childhood friends. Other than that. The GIRLS WERE FIGHTIN’. Hawks is now permanently scarred by Dabi and I don’t think it was kinky folks. Tokoyami inserted himself in the middle to White Knight Hawks, Dabi broke up with him via YT expose and overall, shippers could anguish in the absolute MESS that this ship endured this year. But I’m sure that’s part of the appeal. So...yay?
Tumblr media
Heroes Rising: They were both in it.
Troubling Signs?: The entire relationship is a troubling sign which again, is part of the appeal. Maybe Hawks will cuddle up with Dabi’s father after the war. That’s troubling! Speaking of...
III. EndHawks. Status: Yearning and Burning.
-If there’s one thing Endeavor couldn’t stop worrying about, it was his hot (in more ways than one) new side piece who probably should have looked at the fine print when signing a contract to be a recurring guest star on “Keeping up with the Todoroki’s”.
Anime Highlights: A fateful meeting finally in high definition for all our eyes to see! Hawks’s unwavering support of his biggest hero was endearing to watch and their shenanigans together spurred the anime onlies to finally jump on the biggest May-December ship in the series.
Tumblr media
Manga Highlights: Endeavor’s admiration and concern for Hawks seeped through the pages as we entered our most exciting arc in the manga yet. Fate split these two up yet entwined their downfall together. And that Fate’s name was Dabi...or should I say ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ or should I just say Touya!
Heroes Rising: “Don’t bite my head off, Endeavor.” Geez, can you flirt a little less loud Hawks?
Troubling Signs?: They say never meet your heroes and Hawks is in for a rude awakening. We shall see just how deep his admiration runs or if Endeavor’s past will split our dynamic duo up for good.
IV: TodoDeku. Status: “Precious”
-Shoto’s “Midoriya is in Danger” radar was highlighted in both manga and anime. 4th User’s quirk, who?
Anime Highlights: “Midoriya hasn’t returned yet.” “Where’s Midoriya?” “Midoriya! Grab my hand!” “Have some of my Soba Midoriya.” Shoto gets it. His emotional support friend is a danger magnet. TodoDeku’s also enjoyed tiny tidbits in the OVA such as a hand grabbing scene. Gotta hold tight to those crumbs.
Tumblr media
Manga Highlights: Two Words. “Precious Friend.” Deku comes in w/o arms or legs fighting for Shoto and Shoto’s honor. These two spent the entire year worried sick about each other, and going against all odds to save each other. Precious Friends indeed. TDDK fans ate.
Heroes Rising: Shoto kicks some dog ass and then faints thinking of Deku (and Bakugo but shh. Let the shippers rejoice.) On the bright side, we have a 3rd movie coming featuring “The Three Musketeers” so shippers of TdDk can HOLD TIGHT to what’s to come.
Troubling Signs?: Shoto still doesn’t know about OFA and he’s gonna have LOTS of questions after this arc. Will Deku finally tell him? If not, it could make or break the ship.
V. TodoBaku. Status: “Shining through the city with a little funk and soul.”
-Who knew the greatest comedy duo we needed was Shoto and his hot headed “friend” or not friend? It still remains unclear to Shoto. Regardless, these two had a fun year.
Tumblr media
Anime Highlights: “I wanna see your cute face”, disco dancing, and more fun in the provisional license training. Plus the OVA added some cute moments between the two such as Bakugo staying behind to save Todoroki during a dangerous excercise and his adorable plan neatly animated for us. I’d say TodoBaku’s really were resurgent and energized this year!
Manga Highlights: Shoto, that is not how you properly Catch a Kacchan, I’m sorry. But at least you did it you mad lad. As with Deku, Shoto spent the year worried sick about Bakugo. While the anime let us have our fun, these two were suffering in the manga.
Heroes Rising: Again, Shoto put a dog down and then fainted with Bakugo on his mind (and Deku but we ignore that. Shush.) TodoBaku’s have the 3rd movie to look forward to which is bound to have some amazing content!
Troubling Signs?: They have a lot of trauma to deal with. And a lot of Deku to worry about. I also imagine Shoto will be hurt about being left out of the OFA secret. We shall see what 2021 has to offer.
VI. KiriMina. Status: Unbreakable.
-Changing your hairstyle to match the gal who inspired you in middle school? Sorry y’all but if Mina were a guy, I’d say that’s gay af.
Anime Highlights: We got that backstory Bois. Red Riot’s origin might as well make him be called Pink Riot. Again with Hori and the childhood friends though I wouldn’t exactly call them friends. They just went to the same middle school but Kirishima was highly influenced by Mina’s Chivalrous spirit! A ship is born!
Manga Highlights: The influence is mutual! Mina creates a move based on Kirishima’s unbreakable and we all let out a collective “awwww”. Also in the war arc, we got Kirishima making sure Mina’s chivalrous spirit shines through right into Gigantomachia’s mouth! KiriMina may just be the unsung MVP’s of this arc.
Tumblr media
Heroes Rising: They were in it.
Troubling Signs?: I can’t think of a single one. KiriMina’s can enjoy a peaceful sailing.
VII: KiriBaku. Status: Crumb Collectors.
-2020 was an uneventful year for KiriBaku but Bones made sure there were crumbs aplenty! Thank God for OVA’s!
Anime Highlights: KiriBaku’s did thrive in one episode! Kirishima reflects on the sludge incident and evolves his quirk based on inspiring words from Bakugo! Hooray! KiriBaku’s can thrive in their blossoming friendship. The OVA also has Kirishima (and Kaminari but shh) once again following Bakugo’s lead when it comes to the training excercise. How can you not? He’s so manly!
Tumblr media
Manga Highlights: Not gonna lie. There is nothing much here this year. I did find a teeny tiny flake in Aizawa’s flashback. Kirishima and Bakugo are sitting next to each other. Oh! And at the hot pot gathering, Bakugo sits next to Kirishima! Eat your crumbs KiriBaku’s! There’s always next year!
Heroes Rising: Kirishima hangs with a lazy Bakugo and delivers the most hilarious line in the whole movie. “Silly Bakugo, there won’t be villains here!” Hahah... Silly Bakugo. Oh you~ KiriBaku’s can inhale the fact that those two sure love to hover around each other!
Troubling Signs?: With great crumbs come little responsiblity. No trouble if there’s no content! 🤔
VIII: KamiJirou. Status: Singing their hearts out 🎶
-If there’s any ship that’s coming close to canonization, I think this is it, folks! “Think of the person most important to you!” Can’t argue with Midnight!
Anime Highlights: Kaminari does non stop encouraging of Jirou and her hobbies! He works super hard to learn guitar for her sake! We love a king who can encourage his queen!
Manga Highlights: Kaminari thinks of the most important person to him and surprise! It’s Jirou! All of the feels can commence.
Tumblr media
Heroes Rising: They were in it!
Troubling Signs?: Kaminari does love his women. And men. Kaminari overall is a huge flirt. But Jirou appears to have his heart strings. ❤️
IX: BakuDeku. Status: Rising. 👑
-Alternative Statuses include Winning, Thriving, Soaring. It’s just been non stop content this year. 2020 is truly the year for BakuDeku. The shippers can rejoice.
Anime Highlights: Three words. Be. My. Cane. The OVA’s helped fan the flames of the BkDk hearts with a surprise! Deku tops! Not only that, we got a lovely shoulder tap of encouragement in the canon material. While in season 4, Deku’s primary focus was Eri. Bakugo and Deku still had their moments to be hella gay.
Manga Highlights: Where do I even begin? I guess we’ll just cut to the chase with Bakugo Katsuki: Rising. We finally saw Bakugo’s true feelings manifest for Deku and if getting stabbed for him isn’t the ultimate showing of love, then idk what is. BakuDeku’s rounded out the year with the Volume 29 cover AND the volume 29 cover drafts to eat at our heart strings. Overall, their relationship got the spotlight in the manga this year. And we’re bound to start 2021 with a dramatic confrontation. Hand holding seems to be the key with these two and it didn’t stop with Heroes Rising...speaking of.
Tumblr media
Heroes Rising: The entire movie. Like....yeah. That’s it. [OP, your bias is showing. You have to be SPECIFIC.] {But random criticizer in my head, if I lay out the entire plot of the movie, my post will be too long} [OP....] UGHHHH Okay okay. The POPSICLE MELTING. THE HAND HOLDING. THE CHARACTER DESIGNS OF WHAT MIGHT AS WELL BE THEIR LOVE CHILDREN. Did I mention? “It’s fine if it’s you?” CAUSE YEAH. Oh and All Might randomly officiating their wedding in their heads like idk. Isn’t it just simpler if I say the whole movie??!
Tumblr media
Troubling Signs?: Well these two’s relationship is extremely delicate and while it has non stop soared this year, Deku might not take too kindly to Bakugo almost dying for him. Will they stop pushing each other away? Time will tell.
That’s all for this year folks! Happy Shipping and good luck to everyone next year!

Chapter 3: A Woman Scorned
(Beginning | Previous)
Myghal was gone and if not for the clawing anxiety in Ira's skull, it would have been nice.
Tumblr media
No one around but Berma. The quiet of the wooded trail, only songbirds and the occasional rustle of a squirrel in leaf litter. But as soon as Myghal was out of eyesight, the curse curled itself up tight taking up as much space in the confines of Ira’s mind.
Ira nudged Berma on down the trail, Nepi towed behind. He could sense Myghal like a strong magnet. He was moving down the wooded hill at a crawl. Since leaving Felmire, he hadn’t stopped offering to hunt for a meal. Ira had no issue with their dried apples and bread, but Myghal insisted on something “real to eat”. It wouldn’t have been a problem if it wasn’t Myghal. He got distracted by anything and everything. Clouds. Animals. Plants. If he noticed something new, they had to stop, and wait, and watch.
It drove Ira mad.
While traveling alone, Ira rode as long as Berma was comfortable. Rain, sun, or snow, Ira kept moving. If it weren't for him at the lead, he doubted they would get very far. He claimed driving the horses the way they did to Felmire earned them a leisure pace. He wanted to take his time, to explore, to see everything there was to see. Ira tried, he could say that in earnest. He did try to move them along but he found was Myghal was stubborn, and Ira had no choice but to wait.
The anxiety waned as Myghal emerged from the brush holding a hare above his head in victory.
A quick meal later and Ira had them back on the road.
“So, the Cinders,” Myghal spoke up, “they’re the guild –who’s after you?”
“Part of it.” Ira hadn’t been bothered with Myghal’s questions because most of them weren’t about him personally, but about cities, villages, and more general areas. This one felt like a glancing blow.
“And they’re after you because…?” He passed Myghal a warning glance. “You told me you’d tell me, back in Felmire.” He thumbed behind them. “Let me guess, you’re just another dishonest thief?”
“It was competition. There, happy?”
“Come on, Ira. Can’t you tell me something about you? I’m the one dropping what I’m doing to help you along on your little quest.” Ira decided not to bite on that hook.
“That’s what it was. I was the best hand in the guild and that caught attention. Bad thieves are hungry thieves, and their jealousy turns to hate. So, they threw me out.”
“Thieves threw you out?” Myghal laughed in bewilderment.
“Well, they tried killing me. Same thing.” Ira tossed his shoulders, “it’s really not so different from living with the Northmen. Just a different kind of barbarian, right? You fight for survival. You can’t trust anyone—”
“You trust Darts.”
“I don’t trust anyone,” he almost stripped his blade for good measure, but the look on Myghal’s face told him he caught the hint. He pulled on his hood and the rest of the night was silent.
The next morning they were moving before the sun rose. It was drizzling, foggy and damp making it hard to recognize certain trees he was looking for. Ira didn’t make it a habit to visit a victim more than once, and certainly not some hut in the woods. The first time it had given him chills, and a second? He almost rather the Imperial keep.
“We go the rest of the way on foot,” he stopped them at a short, thick-based tree. He knew it by it’s twisting limbs, looking as if they had been braided like rope. “Don’t make a sound, don’t stop, just follow me.” He kept Berma’s lead short, stepping off the path and into the forest. The sun was giving light and color to the world now. Fog remained low on the ground, creeping around their footfalls and cascading between trees.
It didn’t take long for that feeling to come back. A sensation of something dreadful, something otherworldly that he knew at his core he would never understand, or want to. His palms grew cold, magic aching as if pressed against ice. It knew it was close. It was home.
They came across a dog sized rock and Ira stopped, tying Berma to a tree and signaling to Myghal to do the same. He skewed his brow but didn’t ask questions. By habit, Ira took the silent path. He couldn’t help but feel like these were the same steps he took before. Around sticks and fallen cones, weight on the balls of his feet keeping to moss and protruding stones when he could.
The short, wide hut emerged against shadowed trunks, made of lumber and long, slatted shingles. Ira crouched near the edge of the clearing, searching for movement in the windows. Myghal eased up beside him, taking a knee. Ira turned to him, pointing at him with a finger before diving it into his other palm.
Myghal shook his head.
He pointed at himself, using two fingers to mimic walking towards the door. And then he stood up and strolled off. Ira leapt up, darting around in front to shove against his shoulders. He didn’t budge. “I’m going to talk to her,” Myghal hissed, “You’re not the only one who wants answers.”
“You’re just going to walk up to her?”
“What’s your plan? Break in again? Do you really think that’s a good idea a second time?”
“What is she going to do, curse me again?”
"If you're trying to get her to remove the curse that's not a good idea." Ira didn't care. Either she was going to get rid of it or give him some answers. Myghal pushed past him, walked up the steps and reached for the door.
"What are you doing?" Ira yanked on the back of his shirt, almost getting him to lose his balance.
"It's called manners." Myghal turned to knock his hand away, "This is how most people use a door. You knock and you wait, and if someone's home they come to the door." In horror he knocked against the gate and Ira felt his stomach crawl for his throat.
The knob turned, hinges creaking as the gate was pulled open. Ira tensed, glaring at the short, hunched woman who appeared against firelight. She was stout, all of her silver hair combed to one side, wrinkled eyes shut. Fearlessly she stood there, face lifting as a wide smile pulled across her lips.
"Thief, you've learned how to use the door." Ira glared at her hoping she could sense it, "Come in, come in before you catch something in this chill." She waved over a shoulder as she turned. Ira passed Myghal his glare needing someone to see it.
Entering Ira looked around the small house, round, one level and one room. The kitchen was at the back, cauldron hanging over a low fire steaming up into the chimney. There was a bed on one wall, the other holding a desk with a number of jars and dry goods. Nothing had changed since he was last here.
"I have soup cooking." She shuffled over to the pot, patting the wall for the ladle hanging there.
"We aren't here to eat." Ira announced.
"Well, I have nothing else to steal," she laughed, "so what brings you back?" Ira looked around, from the desk up to the hanging dried plants.
"I did what the curse wanted. I found him so now what am I supposed to do?" She stirred at the soup, making a deep sound of indifference with a shrug of her shoulders. "You don't know?" Ira couldn't help his voice getting loud, "you put a curse on me and you don't know how to fix it?"
"There are different kinds of curses, none two alike. I don't know what the curse wants."
"You just used it on me." Ira snarled, stilling as Myghal placed a hand on his shoulder. "Why did you curse me?"
"Everything comes with a price, even for a thief." She turned from the pot, face impassive, "the curse is to teach you a lesson. So, what have you learned?"
"That you're useless." He growled. She only laughed.
"I wasn't so useless when you came for that magic, was I? Have you made good use of it in the past year, thief?"
"I have a name."
"I know that you do. I only want to remind you of what you are, considering you tend to forget."
"Don't speak as if you're familiar to me." Myghal squeezed his shoulder, "you have to know what I need to break the curse. You gave it to me, you can take it away."
"To do that, return what was taken."
"Then tell me why he's here? Why do I need him?" Ira threw his shoulder as if to signal to Myghal, but it was mostly to remove his hand. She took her time ladling the pale soup into two bowls, infuriatingly slow as she carried them over. One she handed to Ira, ignoring him as she turned to Myghal.
"Ah, well, it's good to meet you," she paused, searching for a name.
"Myghal."
"Myghal," she repeated, smiling as she placed the bowl in his hands. "You have a good heart, a good soul. I'm sorry that you've been caught up in all of this."
"So you'll apologize to him?"
"He's the innocent party here," she snapped at Ira. "He didn't steal ancient magic from a defenseless, blind woman."
"Defenseless," Ira scoffed. "Don't pretend you didn't nearly kill me in the process."
"It's a curse, don't be a baby about it." She swatted Ira's shoulder, turning to retrieve her bowl from the counter. "Sit down and rest. You've drug Myghal half way across the country. No telling what he's had to deal with, with you."
"I like her," Myghal chuckled.
"Sit, sit, rest out from the cold for a moment." She motioned them towards the pelt rug before the fire. Myghal didn't even hesitate. He strolled over, sat stretching his legs with a hum. Ira remained rooted. "So, let's hear it, thief. What have you learned?"
"Do you want me to say not to steal from old ladies?"
"Would you mean it?" She chuckled and shook her head as if knowing the answer. "You wanted that magic more than anything."
"I've heard it's the only thing that can stand against the Emperor."
"Ah, you're correct. Where did you hear such a thing?"
"I spent a lot of time with others who feel the same about the Emperor. Information spreads like a plague." Mirth worked over the fire, silent besides the occasional humming.
"You're the Rook, escaped from Dungaree, are you?" She poured herself a bowl of soup. Ira could feel Myghal watching.
"Dungaree is filled with those the Emperor wants to silence. It's more civilians than criminals and killers." He idly stirred at his bowl, "Its’ where he stores his secrets he doesn’t want the masses to know about."
"They must be sore you're missing," Mirth lost her playful tone, quiet and almost saddened now.
"What? Disappointed it wasn't some prince charming who came to take your magic? Someone to save the world? Instead, you got a guttersnipe."
"I would expect a prince would have a very hard time using The Foul." She turned and he was sure even the fire went silent, "That magic takes something dark to control, to barter with. But even you, Rook, must be careful opening up to it. Without balance, without control, it can decompose you." Ira snorted, drifting over to the desk to sit on its edge.
"So, the Emperor, he can send whoever he wants to prison?" Myghal sat his bowl down, turning to them with sunken brow.
"The Emperor is loved by most, He has a devoted following among the Empire, and not by force." Mirth shuffled to the desk, fingers running across the designs of notches carved into each container. "If you wish to end him, Rook, you will need more than The Foul."
"Would another curse help?"
"No, but I can give you another if you like. You have your magic, your destruction, and to balance such darkness you will need wisdom."
"Well, that doesn't explain the curse." Ira glanced at Myghal finding a glare. "Are you saying you want in?"
"I'm already helping you. You have my magic, but I appreciate your compliment." She chuckled to herself, an infuriating sound. Shooing him off the desk she opened a drawer for what looked to be a dried rat foot. "You will need the eye of a dragon."
"A dragon?" Myghal amazed him with how confused he sounded. "What's a dragon?" Ira cursed to himself as he strolled towards the counter.
"You may know it as a flying serpent, an Ophtenka." Mirth added with a wave of her hand.
"An Ophtenka eye?!" Myghal slouched, almost dropping his bowl, looking like a boy who had been told he was up for punishment. "Why?"
"She just said –I'm evil." Ira smirked, wincing as Mirth slapped his shoulder.
"If you want to be able to understand The Foul, to use it to its potential to over throw the Emperor, you will need the wisdom of dragons." Mirth dropped the ingredients into a mortar to grind together. "Your alignment has nothing to do with it. You're simply too stupid."
Myghal laughed.
"And you are too careless," she didn't spare him either. "Were you waiting for infection to set in? Hm? Neither of you are keen in self-preservation, I see." Myghal went quiet, shocked as he glanced to Ira. "Off with it. Let me fix it before you get yourself killed." Myghal scrambled to remove his belt, clearly worried at her raised tone.
"Infection?" Ira tilted his head, "don't tell me I'm going to have to start watching you like some ankle biter. This really is some curse, isn't it?"
"I'm a little sore, it's nothing bad –ah!" He bit off into a grimace as Mirth packed the mixture into his shoulder.
“Yes, well, you’ll be speaking a different verse when it begins to fester and spreads to your heart. You’ll be worse off than that louse over there.” She made a sloppy gesture towards Ira, scraping more from the mortar to pack. Myghal hissed a grimace.
“And… what happens if he dies?” Ira sat his bowl on the desk, crossing his arms in a dare for Myghal to look at him.
“I suppose you return to the state you were before you found him.”
“You mean, while I was looking for him?”
“Yes,” she deeply bobbed her head. “This curse chose him for a reason. I doubt it would search for another.”
“If he dies, I’m stuck with this curse, searching for him, when he’s dead?!” The icy ache melted in the rage, aiming it for Myghal considering she couldn’t see his face.
“Then, I suppose Rook, you best take care of your stolen goods.”
Tumblr media
"These dragons, where are we going to find one? Are they even around anymore?" Myghal had become more relaxed on his horse in the two weeks since leaving Mirth's. Nepi was no longer a means of escape or stolen property, but instead a familiar fixture. She had also given him a new staff, one she promised wouldn’t break no matter what it struck. Ira had forgotten Myghal had a weapon at all. It didn’t seem to suit him.
"No dragons in the Arctic Ridge?"
"Not that I know of. Besides, if there is, you couldn't pay me all the gold in the Empire to go back there."
"What about in the south? No... what did you call them? Open-tents?"
"Ophtenka," his voice was somehow deeper when he spoke his native language. "And no, we haven't seen one of those for centuries. The last one died when the People of the Plains came together to defeat after they got tired of it destroying their villages."
"So then, you know how to kill one?" Ira hooked his reins on the saddle horn, twisting about to dig through his satchel. He was out of dried apples and with a low canteen he didn't want the last piece of bread. They would need to restock soon.
"It took an entire village to kill it. No offense, but I don't think one fighter and a thief are going to have any luck."
"Optimistic, aren't you?" Ira gave up looking for a snack. "Then what should we get instead?"
"I'm not saying we can't. Maybe we can find someone who does or who can help."
"Well, where would you look for someone like that? Or to even find an Ophtenka?" Ira knew who he could talk to, but he had found Myghal saw things very differently. Learning about him made for shorter rides and gave him an idea of who he was working with.
"A Row House," he answered and then paused. "Is that what they're called here?"
"Don't think so. Not that I've heard."
"You know, a place where everyone gets together for drinks or a good meal. It's the place for gossip, tall tales, war stories and legends. It's a fountain of information."
"So, a tavern. A place to eat and drink. Usually dark and a hive of underhanded business and good-for-nothings."
"The first part, yeah." Myghal grimaced, "What is wrong with people here?"
"You'll get used to it." Ira noticed movement through the trees in the bend. The woods were thinning out and between the trunks he could see sunlit fields, and three people on horseback. He knew a roadblock when he saw one, but the black banner flickering from their halberd wasn't Imperial so Ira didn't care.
"What's this?" Myghal grunted, having noticed Ira was looking. "Trouble?"
"Looks like someone may own this road," Ira shrugged. Myghal gave him that infamous look of confusion and he began to wonder how people lived in the south. "Sometimes people set up places in the road to intimidate riders. Sometimes it's officials or soldier, others it's bandits. Either way, they want money. They see this as their road –their territory.”
“No one owns a road,” Myghal scoffed. They slowed on their approach as one rider got down from their horse to stand in the middle of the dirt track. It looked to be their usual place. Trees along the side of the road had long since been taken down, lying in piles topped with limbs and litter giving a horse little room to maneuver around them.
“Halt!” the man called, hand lifted as one of the smaller riders readied a bow. “By the order of the region, you must pay a toll to continue on this road.” Ira stopped Berma, looking to Myghal.
“Pay to use a road?” He asked, still fumbling with the concept. “We haven’t seen any other roads we have to pay to use.” He glanced to Ira and was given a shrug.
“This road you do.” The archer spoke up, a woman. She was young by her tone, still carrying some childish whine. “If you want to get to Galenia you have ta pay the toll.”
“Oh, so the funds go to Galenia. Is that a town that’s nearby? Do they have a tavern?”
“I’m sure they do.” The gruff man carrying the halberd on his horse waved for them to hurry. “You need to pay up first.”
“So, not for Galenia then. What about for the Empire?” The three of them laughed.
"It's a toll road," the young woman snapped. “Just pay up or I’ll put an arrow between your eyes.” Myghal looked to Ira, brow wrinkled in confusion as if they were speaking a foreign language.
"But the funds don't go to the town or the Empire? Shouldn't it go to trying to make the place better for the people, or, at least, fix the road?" He motioned to the rocky mud, and Ira let him walk himself through it. "All right," Myghal released a long breath, tossing his shoulders before getting down from Nepi.
"Toll is two silver." The lead man clarified. Ira watched his partner in curiosity.
"How much are you going to give them, Myghal?" He paused, looking over the top of the saddle at Ira.
"Well, there's three of them. Two a piece?"
"Two? Each?" Ira frowned. But he saw Myghal reach under his pack, hand freeing the buttons to the holster Mirth had given them.
"Why not? I'm feeling a little generous." He whipped the staff free, twirling it to grab one end and swing across the mounted man from his horse.  In an incredible flipping bounce of the staff, Myghal slid in an advance, spinning it on a wrist knocking the swordsman in the gut –one. Then the back of the head—two. The archer was too slow, having to reload. Myghal moved almost weightless, the way Ira had seen runners take rooftops.
A spin of Myghal’s staff caught the next arrow, and he leapt batting her across the stomach. One. And on the back of the head spilling her face down onto the road. Two. All three lay motionless in the dirt, Myghal taking a step back as he watched. Ira slouched in the saddle. He had expected money to be handed over, a loss on their part, Myghal as gullible as some noble's child. What he found he didn’t even have words for.
"What?" Myghal asked.
"Nothing."
"You're smiling."
"It's nothing." Ira assured, "two a piece, huh?"
"Yeah. That's what I said I'd give them." He chuckled, tapping his staff against a flat rock.
"I think your shorted him," Ira clicked his tongue pointing to the fallen horseman. Myghal glanced over, shoulders falling.
"Well, that's not fair, is it?" He reached out, giving a firm jab to their back. They gave a weak groan. "Even," he announced. "I've never understood the motive of highwaymen." He returned his staff to the sling before mounting again.
"Lack of skill or plethora of violence." Ira caught himself staring. Not that he could help it. He hadn't been this caught off guard since he was set up failure that put him in Dungaree. By Myghal's height and the width of his shoulders, Ira had placed him as a lumber oaf, not a weapons master.
"You know," he started, moving Berma around the unconscious woman. "This might not be so bad."
"What?"
"The curse.  If it’s supposed to teach me something, maybe you’re the one to teach it to me, even if you are an idiot."
"That was almost a compliment." Myghal glared at him.
“Give me credit, I’m trying.”

Countersunk Neodymium Pot Magnets
https://www.magnetic-holders.com/products/countersunk-neodymium-pot-magnets/
The magnetic assembly that a disc shape magnet with a countersunk hole housed with a flat steel cup is known as flat countersunk cup magnets or countersunk pot magnets, which are used as holding magnets and mounting magnets.
Rare earth neodymium magnets have high magnetic energy and always used to make mounting(holding) magnets for heavy-duty applications. Thanks to the steel cups, as a new type of countersank magnets with steel cups housed outside, the finished magnetic system has several times the magnetic holding force of the naked neodymium magnets.
The working surfaces of neodymium cup(pot) magnets with countersunk holes are north pole, are compact and practical for integrating into your projects or ideas. The central countersunk holes of the neodymium cup(pot) magnets are designed for screw, with the countersunk(counterbore) mounting holes, the cup magnets can be screwed on anywhere for holding applications.

Ferrite Pot Magnets
Pot magnets are the very useful permanent magnets assemblies, they are results of the development of magnets application, and play important roles in daily life. They can be used as holding magnets or magnetic holders, for example, some supermarket use ferrite pot magnets to hold product information board. Because of the usage and special structure, ferrite pot magnets also called as ferrite cup magnets, ferrite magnetic pots and ferrite magnetic chucks. The ferrite permanent magnets are fixed into the steel cups by glue, the steel cups cover the ferrite magnets and protect the ferrite magnets well. With the steel cup covered, the steel cups can transfer the magnetic line and make it into a magnetic circle. By this, the steel cup strengthens the magnets with more magnetic force, the magnetic strength of the ferrite magnet is more powerful. Then the magnetic strength of whole magnet assembly is much more than equivalent round magnets. The two parts combine and form a new magnetic system, which called ferrite pot magnets. With more powerful magnetism, the whole magnetic system can hold more weight than just magnets not fixed into the steel cups.
According to the actual application, ferrite pot magnets can be made into different types, meank magnetics often make the following types of ferrite pot magnets:
1. Round base pot magnets that disc magnets fixed into flat steel cups by glue, which used as mono pole magnets.
2. Countersunk ferrite pot magnets that fix countersunk ferrite magnet into the steel cup with a hole in the center, which used as base magnets/magnetic bases.
3. Shallow pot magnets that ring magnets fixed into the steel pot with a hole in the center, which used as a magnetic holder.
4. External thread pot magnets that ferrite disc magnets fixed into the steel cups with an external thread for a screw, which used as holding magnets.
5. Internal thread pot magnets that disc ferrite magnets fixed into the steel cups with the internally threaded hole for hooks and rings, which also used as holding the magnet.
6. Hook magnets(also called magnetic hooks) that twist a steel hook into the internal thread ferrite pot magnets, which use as ceiling magnets. The hooks can be closed or not, or just hand ring which called as eyelet ferrite pot magnets with.
Above types are just standard ferrite pot magnets types we make, we can also make other customized types. Our standard types of ferrite pot magnets are all made from high-performance ferrite magnets.Which have good market performance?
Compared with NdFeB pot magnets, ferrite/ceramic pot magnets have weaker magnetic force, but it can resistant higher temperature, and the price is cheaper than NdFeB magnets.

Bioshock Infinite - Burial at Sea: Crossbow [ENG][ITA]
Tumblr media
Ph: Solipsis-photography
[ENG] In this post I’ll drescribe how I built my crossbow for Elizabeth, from Bioshock Infinite DLC - Burial at Sea (Episode 2). Double language is used, English and Italian, each paragraph is labelled.
Facebook | Instagram | Tumblr | WorldCosplay
Planning -  Progettazione
[ENG] First of all, I collected proper reference pictures, including someone showing the character holding the weapon (this is not so easy for a first person shooter...) to get the right dimension of the prop compared to the body. Then I started drawing the weapon. It’s important to get the right proportion both between the prop parts and between the prop and your own body. I usually do a 1:1 drawing to check if the weapon looks good on me. In this case I also made a 3D paper crossbow, but it’s not necessary.
Poi ho iniziato a fare disegni.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Central body building - Costruzione parte centrale
[ENG] The central body of the crossbow is made out of plywood. This part was planned together with my boyfriend, he actually drew the CAD and used a laser cutter to make the pieces (only the wood is laser cutted, all the other parts are cutted by hand). We made 13 layers (1 layer is 4 mm thick), with different shapes to get a approximately the crossbow shape. The pieces were glued together. I sanded it down and plastered it several time, until the rounded part were properly shaped. At the end I applied the details, made out of forex (and a piece of pencil actually).

Central body painting - Verniciatura parte centrale
[ENG] Since the wood tends to absorb the paint, you need a primer first. I applied two layers of  wood primer, then a first layer of paint and at the end a metallic gray spray paint and a brown paint for the grip. Then I added some shading in a darker gray color. I added the golden decorations: I used some stencils to draw the lines, I painted it with a brush and I marked the edges with a black pen. At the end I drew the wood veins with a water-based paint, that’s easier to blend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arch building - Costruzione arco
[ENG] The base of the arch is made out of forex (5 mm), bended with an hot air gun and using a pot to model the heated forex. Both the faces are covered with a eva-foam layer (1 mm). I drew the decoration on the eva-foam and I engraved it with the pen itself. Then I glued the eva-foam to the forex.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arch painting - Verniciatura arco
[ENG] Since the eva-foam is porous, it needs to be primed. I applied three layers of  white glue as primer, then a first layer of paint and at the end metallic gray spray paint as for the crossbow main body. Again I added some shading in a darker gray color and I painted the golden decorations with a brush.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Assembly - Assemblaggio
[ENG] Time to glue the central body and the arch together. I used a strong glue and I covered the junction with eva-foam pieces. Then I primed (3 layers) and painted it (2 layers).
[ITA] Ora di assemblare il tutto. Ho incollato col Mille Chiodi e ho coperto la giunzione con dei pezzi di eva-foam. Ho poi steso il primer (3 strati) e la vernice (2 strati).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Details and rope - Dettagli e corda
[ENG] I applied the missing details. First screws and nails, some of them are eva-foma pieces, the others are real nails (painted to match the crossbow). Then I added the rope, with a ring in the place where the arrow touches it.
[ITA] Ho applicato i dettagli mancanti.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arrow - Dardo
[ENG] About  the arrow, it is built with a small pipe, a kind of silver vial (this just happened to have the proper shape), a lipstick case (the transparent part, for the actual vial) and a toothpick (for the needle). I added some details using the eva-foam (1 mm). I primed the foam and painted it. Then I worked at the vial: I inserted a transparent plastic sheet with the graduated scale and  yellow paper to get the color. Then my boyfriend made for me a small led circuit to light the vial. The vial is easy to open, in order to insert the circuit and to change the battery. The arrow is not glued to the crossbow but it's kept in place by small magnets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Final result - Risultato finale
[ENG] Just some pics of the finished crossbow.
[ITA] Alcune foto della balestra finita!

Part 4
We were about to fall into a round of awkward silence before Mickey—Micje suggested food. He said he was starving, since he was still settling into his living quarters as of that morning. His shuttle from Glau arrived so late the night before, he just passed out on the cheap bed as soon as he found the room.
I agreed because it got us moving on to something else...and I wanted to see what a public cafeteria was like on Zi'inra. And I assume Riche'e agreed just because it got us moving on to something else. I'd seen the parties he goes to; food that wasn't served on fancy plates smaller than my hand didn't seem like something that would excite him.
The mess hall—or floor, rather—was a massive buffet style area with various sized tables spread out. Flimsy partitions and half-walls lined blocks of three tables by three around the perimeter of the hall, with most of the larger tables in the center. Some two person tables lined the walls. Brown and white made up the bulk of everything, with orange, yellow, and green accents everywhere. The white noise of people talking and eating was muted, like a quietly noisy library. I wondered if it was the combination of carpet and walls or if galactic society just had a collective respect for food time and eating areas. The second option amused me more, so that's what I stuck with.
And it seemed I was right about Riche'e. Micje lead us into the hall, Riche'e went straight for a small table, sat down, and rubbed the edge of the red mark that had developed on the corner of his forehead.
I kept following Micje as he made his way to a buffet counter. He stopped at the end of it and slowly ran a hand through his shaggy hair. He was trying to look nonchalant when he turned and peeked over his arm at the tables, at Riche'e.
"I think I just lost my chance at Zega," he said quietly when he noticed me beside him. "I'm going to be dismissed." He nodded to himself.
I shook my head.
He nodded again with more force and dropped his hand. "I'm reckless! No self-control. Imagine if that was a real situation? Could've been deadly!" He cursed under his breath. "I turned down a gaming contract for this. I was so... And what happens before the day has started? I injure someone for not paying attention."
I pursed my lips; my eyebrows pulled together.
"He is not injured, just bruised," I said. "The fact you say those things shows you are not actually..." I searched for the Copan word for stupid. "You're not kuma." That wasn't it, but I was pretty sure kuma was close. It meant something like moron. "If that ball was something bad and deadly like some real situation, would you think that tossing it around would be something you would do? I do not think you would be throwing it at your people. I would not."
"True, I guess." He smiled and turned back to the counter, grabbing a metal bowl. His head swung right and left as he got a good look at everything.
"And have we started the actual test yet? I think you are safe still." That's what I was hoping for myself, at least.
"Either way, I hope they see it how you said." He settled on a pot of what looked like runny, gray oatmeal and started ladling to himself. Out of all the foods—most of which were colorful, if strangely shaped—he went for...that.
"No one saw, maybe. Do not worry."
"Someone always sees," he shook his head. He looked up and quickly looked around, then pointed a space in the air before he went back to ladling. I didn't see it at first, trying to find whatever it was on the wall he showed me, but then there was a slight wave in the air. The wave bobbed and drifted and I was able to make out a sphere.
"What is that?" It seemed like it was an invisible camera, which I hoped it wasn't.
"What do you mean what is that?" His eyebrows furrowed at me.
"Is that how they watch us?"
"Obviously."
And I had to get this question out of the way: "Those are not everywhere, are they?"
"Yes."
"No, I am saying...everywhere. Everywhere?"
"Eh..." He watched me for a moment. "Yes." He chuckled and shook his head. "Public safety. Yes, they are everywhere."
Okay, great, so the galaxy's version of CCTV was invisible floating balls that could follow you around? And people back home thought cameras on street corners were creepy.
I couldn't watch Micje prepare the bowl anymore as he moved on to sprinkling some powder from a tiny jar into it. (A dried version of the Essence of Pure Flavor, I hope.) I grabbed a purple fruit and spun on a heel, making for the table Riche'e went to.
It was a little disappointing there were no cookies stacked somewhere on the counter, as all good free buffets have, but the fruit would do. I assumed it was a fruit. It looked like a kiwano melon, just not orange, and had a sweet smell that made it a perfect candidate for a dollar store shampoo. I hoped the taste test was as interesting once I figured out how to open and eat it.
"Someone always sees," Micje mumbled. Some utensils jangled and his feet scraped on the floor in a seeming hurry to not get left alone.
Maybe we should have started a bet. Who would get kicked out for their fault first? Me for my lack of basic skills or him for his oopsie? Only time would tell.
"How is your head?" I asked Riche'e when I sat across from him. The event may have been satisfying but I felt bad for laughing.
Riche'e glanced up, but hardly, giving a vague shrug, a shake of his head, and a barely intelligible mumble. So I guessed that meant it was fine—or he was acting like a cat that didn't want to draw any more attention to the fact it got hurt. He was holding stiff and reading a wall of text on a clear, flexible sheet, a series of images scrolling up on the side it. They looked like ships. Or maybe shuttles. Jets?
"Where did that come from?" I looked around to the other tables to see if they had some laying around like leaflets left at a café, but I only saw a few other folks with them in hand. Riche'e hadn't been holding that before.
Both Micje and him moved at the same time. Micje, who'd only just sat and picked up his spoon, put his spoon down and shoved up his sleeve to reveal a cuff bracelet with that same type of sheet wrapped around it and his forearm. As the light hit it, a few symbols blinked on the sheet.
Riche'e rolled up his sleeve, but took his time doing so so the fabric would stay folded. He took his sheet and wrapped it, the edge guiding itself around as if it were magnetized. Once the edge of the sheet was touching most of the cuff, the text shrunk to a small box on his inner forearm. He held it up to model a moment before pulling the sheet off to go back to reading.
"You don't have one?" Micje asked, finally getting to dig into his mush.
"No... I am a little out of the circle." I had no sleeves to hide my arms, so I just held up my bare wrists. I felt 'out of the loop' was a good vague way to explain it.
"You should. With these, I don't know why anyone sticks to the big blocks."
I snorted. "Where I come from, those big blocks are state of the art."
Riche'e sighed as I said that. (I said it in English. I didn't know the Copan phrase for cutting edge!) His cheeks rippled as he clenched his jaw. His drifted up from the text. He laid the sheet on the table.
"Listen, as I was saying before..."
I bit my top lip as hard as I could bear and pushed myself against the back of my chair.
"Earth isn't an real planet. The Orphanage also searched for planets called Terra, Erde, and Diqiu—several others—and they don't exist either." He started twisting his cuff around his wrist. "They're just stories that are passed around among the groups of rudkjurt as they are discovered until they believe them because it's easier to believe than your past. It's a replacement for what you don't know." He stopped playing with his cuff. "And you shouldn't be here try to start a career based on it. You will be disappointed, and you won't make it far."
Micje looked up at soon as Riche'e said the magic word, but waited until he was finished. "You're a rudkjurt?" So much for that vague explanation and no one else finding out.
I stayed quiet, glaring at Riche'e. I didn't like the way he said to try. I didn't like anything he said. Where did he get off? He thought he was an expert because he read a couple of articles on the space internet?
"Screw you." I leaned forward, squeezing my not-kiwano. "You have only read things. I have true experience with the Orphanage. I am not going to try to start a career based on it. I will. I am going to pass our test for Zega. And he"—I pointed at Micje—"is going to pass our test for Zega. And I am going to prove that Earth exists. And if—if you pass the test, you will be right next to me when I do so I can see your face."
That was strong. I didn't know what I was supposed to be reading on Riche'e's face, but he didn't say anything. His eyebrows simply raised and twisted and lowered. I swallowed. I knew how stupid everything I just said was, but I held his gaze. Hopefully the panic wasn't written all over my face.
This was going to be an embarrassing week. I saw it right away. Tomorrow, the day after, the day after that, I was going to be tapped on the shoulder, discreetly asked to leave the premises, and Riche'e was going to give me the classic told-you-so.
So, great, I had to learn how to read, function, speak big Copan words, and not get kicked out in less than seven days. I should get a head start on space maps and real astronomy in the case I actually lived up to my word. The very unlikely case.
I wondered what whoever was watching on the invisible cameras was thinking.
I couldn't hold the stare-off any longer. He won this round. I dropped my head and lifted the fruit. "How do I eat this?"

U/C Channel Magnets
https://www.magnetic-holders.com/products/c-channel-magnets/
Different from a normal cup(pot) magnet, the U-channel holding magnet is not round-shaped, and it is rectangular bar shape. The composition structure blocks bar magnets housed in a u-shaped steel shell. The magnetic adhesive force of the block bar magnets is significantly enlarged by the steel shell, meantime the block bar magnets are protected by the steel shell and avoid being damaged.
U-channel holding magnets are especially suitable for carpentry, kitchen installations, exhibition stand construction, shopfitting, signage technology, etc,and used as rectangular base magnets. To make it easy to be mounting, the u-channel holding magnets are made with one or two countersunk holes for screws according to the length. Usually, neodymium block bar magnets with countersunk holes and ferrite(ceramic) block bar magnets are used to assemble U-shaped screw-on holding magnets(magnetic holder). The neodymium channel magnets are for heavy-duty application, and the ferrite channel magnets are for lighter-duty application. Choose it according to your application to save unnecessary costs. Channel magnets can be used in both indoor & outdoor applications, they are ideal for industrial & consumer mounting holding & fixing applications where high-magnetic strength is required.
The Application Of U/C Channel Magnets
Neodymium(ferrite) U-channel screw-on magnets are mainly used for holding or mounting heavy-duty applications.
neodymium (ferrite)U/C channel magnets commonly used a magnetic tools holder in repair factory of the automobile industry.
Neodymium(ferrite) U/C channel magnets can be used as magnetic door catcher
neodymium(ferrite) U/C channel magnets can be used as magnetic vehicle license plate holders
neodymium(ferrite) U/C channel magnets can be used as magnetic blueprint holders
Neodymium(ferrite) U/C channel magnets can be used as magnetic  sign and banner holders

Pot Magnet
Either pot magnet or cup magnets it is named after its shape and they both refer to the same group of magnetic products. By gluing a round shape magnet into a steel pot/cup you get a prototype pot magnet and based on that prototype there are so many extensions being made by adding different accessories, using different shape components. Some of them could look so different from the prototype pot magnet but as far as their core working principle does not change, we still call them "pot magnet". With the emerge of extension products other names are also used such as: round base magnet, hook magnet, etc.
 Pot Magnets for Sale
Pot Magnet with Mounting Hole
They are also called: pot magnet with borehole, pot magnet with mounting hole, holding magnet with borehole etc. This is one of the most widely used pot magnets.
 Pot Magnet with Screw Hole
Pot magnet with through hole shares the same structure while this series features a screw hole in the middle.
Flat Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Bush
We have two versions of them respectively made from NdFeB pot magnet and ferrite pot magnet. NdFeB version features superior holding force while ferrite version is cheaper in price.
 Countersunk Pot Magnet
They are also known as ‘shallow pot magnet with countersunk hole’. They are one of the most regular bought pot magnets.
 Pot Magnet with External Thread
Various as they are but every product is meant to resolve certain kind of problems. Pot magnets, as simple as they look, come with so many extensions aiming at making some work easier.
Shallow Pot Magnet / with Steel Cover
The principle of this pot magnet is to glue one piece of solid disc magnet, either NdFeB or Ferrite, into the steel housing.
 Heavy Duty Magnetic Clips
It is kind of creative to put clip and pot magnet together to make our lives handy. We really need to use our brilliance to bring out more of this combination.
 Pot Magnet with Metal Rod
This pot magnet can be used solely for holding with the metal rod providing an easy way for removal. Meanwhile, it also can be used together with something else.
 Application of Pot Magnet
When you want to, for example, hold something, fix something, either permanently or temporarily and it could be a label, a poster, a piece of tool, a Christmas wreath, a note, etc.
More importantly, if you want to do it with ease, then you might want to choose from our wide selection of pot magnets. Pot magnets from Weizhong Magnetics Co., Ltd, the pot magnet manufacturer and pot magnet supplier, come in different sizes, forces, and are mounted with different accessories to meet the application request as much as possible.
How to Choose the Most Suitable Pot Magnet for Your Application
Basically, the first priority for consideration goes to holding force – the one matches the weight of the object you are about to hold. More importantly, out of safety concern, if you are about to hold a heavy object, you should choose the pot magnet like the ferrite pot magnet that offers a higher force than the weight of the object. An extra 10% higher, at least, in force of pot magnet is advised and, of course, the higher the safer as long as it is within the budget.
 Technical Advantages of Pot Magnet
These simple-looking pot magnets are carefully designed following the physical practice of utilizing magnetic field strength, where, by conducting the magnetic field strength via the steel pot, an alternating-pole-pattern of; "S-N-S" or "N-S-N" is made on the holding surface of the pot magnet, and, as a result, it generates even higher holding force than using just magnet without steel pot.

Magnetic Core Market: Competitive Dynamics and the Growth Prospects with Forecast 2026
Magnetic core is a magnetic material with good magnetic quality that is used to enclose and guide magnetic fields in electromechanical, electrical, or magnetic devices such as electric motors, electromagnets, transformers, inductors, generators, and magnetic recording heads. Magnetic cores are made of ferromagnetic metals such as iron or ferrimagnetic composites such as ferrites. The magnetic field is generated by a current conducting coil of wire surrounding the core. Magnetic core can increase the strength of a magnetic field in an electromagnetic coil.
Read Report Overview @
http://www.transparencymarketresearch.com/magnetic-core-market.html
Magnetic cores are created form three basic materials: bulk metals, powdered materials, and ferrite materials. Bulk metals are processed into ingots from furnaces. They are is then put into the process of cold and hot rolling. As the powder core processing starts, ingots go through multiple steps of grinding unless the powder is of proper consistency for the required performance. Usually, machining of powder cores is not carried out after processing. Ferrite materials consist of ceramic materials of iron oxide, carbonate of manganese or alloyed with oxides, nickel, cobalt, magnesium, or zinc. Magnetic core material can be either solid metal, soft iron, laminated silicon steel, special alloy, vitreous metal, or powdered metal iron.
Magnetic Core Market: Key Segments
Magnetic cores can be segmented based on structure and end-use. In terms of structure the magnetic core can be segmented into straight cylinder rod, single “I” core, “C” or “U” core, “E” core, “E”& “I “core, planer core, pot core and toroidal core. Straight cylindrical rod is mostly made of powered iron and ferrite. It is used in radios for tuning the inductor. Single “I” core is square shaped and is rarely used. It is likely to be found in car ignition coils. “U” and “C” shaped cores are used to make square closed cores. Windings can be installed on single or both legs of the core. “E” shaped cores are used where a closed magnetic system is required. In most of “E” shaped cores, the cross-sectional area of center leg is more compared to individual section of outer legs. Therefore, the electrical circuit is placed around the center leg. In case of 3-phase transformer, all the three legs of “E” shaped core are of the same size and all legs are wound.

The “E” and “I” shaped core are stacked together to form a closed system. The “I” is stacked with the open end “E” to form three legged structure. The “E” and “I” cores are widely used in autotransformers, power transformer and inductors. The pot core is internally hollow and completely encloses the coil. It is round in shape. This design helps reduce electromagnetic interference and prevents radiations. The toroid core has a shape of a doughnut. The coil is wound around the circumference of the core. It is widely used in high frequency audio amplifiers. Based on end-use, the magnetic core market can be divided into automotive components, electrical components, and energy transfer equipment.
