Tiny AU where they just have a normal baby 🥹
They name her Rosalind Elizabeth, after Franklin and Blackwell. She has a thatch of dark hair like the pelt of a mink. She has the kyanite eyes of a storm witch.
*
“They look like a nice Stilton,” Mulder observes, Scully’s breasts blue-veined over skin so plump and creamy even her baggiest sweatshirts have a seductive air.
She wrinkles her nose. “You’ve been out of the game for too long,” she says. “That’s hardly complimentary. Mold, honestly.”
“I’m a fun-guy,” he says, and Rosalind turns her head to hiccup with disdain.
*
Skinner holds the baby with surprising ease. “Eleven nieces and nephews,” he tells Mulder, who surveys his daughter for any sign of distress.
“This baby is especially discerning,” Mulder says. “She is highly refined.”
Skinner pokes Rosalind’s fat little frog belly.
She gurgles with appreciation, reaches for Uncle Walter’s tie.
“You can tell the difference can’t you, sweetheart,” Skinner asks warmly.
Mulder scowls as Rosalind coos in reply.
*
“Fuck,” Scully hisses at her tiny daughter. “Sweet merciful Christ, we’re weaning her.”
Rosalind drools past four razor-sharp teeth, onto her mother’s bare, bitten nipple. Then she wails in disappointment, in deprivation.
Mulder pops a pacifier into her perfect rosebud mouth, watches her impossibly long lashes flutter against her cheeks like butterflies on Calimyrna figs.
The baby hums a little, settles. Sleeps.
Mulder nuzzles against the salt-caramel sweetness of her mother’s neck, his palm soothing the bleeding breast. “Sheriff Hartwell,” he murmurs into her pale throat. “I want a paternity test.”
*
“No,” Rosalind says sweetly to Uncle Byers. She pats his beard with fat starfish hands. “No.”
Frohike hoots. “Well, if that isn’t her mother’s daughter!”
Byers looks mournfully at his copy of the Junior Cryptids board book. “Rosie,” he says. “S is for Sasquatch.”
Rosalind beams back with a gummy smile. “Monkey,” she burbles.
*
Mulder holds her hand as she steps delicately across the grass.
Rosalind looks up at him, her hot chocolate hair a tumble of silken ringlets.
“Bye bye,” she says.
She releases his finger, staggers drunkenly towards her mother on the other side of the blanket.
“Daddy,” Rosalind observes. “Ma.”
She walks like Bambi on ice, like a coltish girl in her first high heels.
Mulder’s sinuses burn, his eyes are hot and wet as the deep-ocean thermal vents, where the most improbable life begins.

Everybody is all smiles for the group picture, from heroes to villains and everything in-between. Even characters who were otherwise sticks in the mud like Hank genuinely smile for the picture. Villains such as Muntz, de la Cruz, Lotso, Thunderclap and his gang, Syndrome, Evelyn, Randall, Waternoose, Hopper, Skinner, and Ercole, as much of evil psychopaths they were, are seen tenderly and respectfully singing along. Even Sid, who was a massive bully to Hannah, is seen giving her a kind brotherly embrace. Also, most movies’ main cast seem to be cramped together. Even the villains stand near their respective heroes, everyone in a healthy relationship with their families and loved ones are tenderly holding each other close, and many of the larger characters offer their bodies for the smaller ones.
Forky, Heimlich, Dory, Jack-Jack, Mater, WALL-E, and one of the triplets wave at the camera.
Dim and Wee Dingwall give the camera dopey smiles.
The egg-shaped bluebirds and the gawky bird stand perched above the entrance. The bluebirds are happy to have the gawky bird with them, a far cry from how they treated him in their short.
Sulley carries Boo tenderly in his arms. Helen does the same to Jack-Jack, as do Presto with Alec, Carl and Russell with Kevin’s babies, Elinor and Fergus with their triplet sons, Embarrassment with Envy, Massimo with Machiavelli, and Izzy with Sox.
Terri attempts to dance before his other half stops him.
Hank carries Marlin, Dory, and Nemo in a coffee pot.
Voyd and Abby giddily bounce in place, clearly the most excited for the photo.
Linguini carries Remy while Colette holds Django and Emile.
WALL-E and EVE hold the umbrellas from The Blue Umbrella.
HAN-S still can’t stay still, shaking aggressively as the photo is taken.
Kevin and her babies take the time to mimic Carl once again.
Maudie and the Clan Dingwall hunk share a loving look.
Young Macintosh flexes his pecs while giving the camera a cocky smile, the same type of smile given by characters like Terry, Darby, and Clod.
The Witch has her Crow standing perched on her shoulder.
Being stationary volcanoes, Uku and Lele are unable to leave their photo. Thankfully, they have Thunderclap to hold it so they can be in the group picture.
Nostalgia sticks her head out from behind Embarrassment, clearly hiding from the other emotions.
Riley, Grace, and Bree all carry Knick together while Riley’s parents carry the Miami and Florida knick knacks, Val and the Fire Hawks carry the Egypt, Jamaica, Palm Springs, Israel, and Death Valley knick knacks, and Coach Roberts carries Sunny Atlantis in her fish bowl.
Cindy, Son’s fiancée, winks at the camera as the photo is taken.
Machiavelli gives the camera his standard bored look.
Mei has her red hair, panda ears, and panda tail, continuing to embrace her panda.
Aaron Z gives the camera a thumbs up while Tae Young makes a heart with his hands.
Izzy gives Sox a neck scratch.
Alisha and Kiko’s inclusion also counts due to their backlash following the movie’s release.

slow dancing in the pouring rain
five times Mulder and Scully dance. because @imasquint made this post.
I rarely make playlists for fics, but I did for this one because there was very specific music I was thinking of when I wrote it.
2090 words, read here on AO3
I.
The first time he sees her dance, she’s three sheets to the wind, and he’s not faring much better. They’d had a long slog of a day, obtuse local cops and circular interviews that went nowhere, and on the walk back to their motel she’d dragged him into a bar, ordering them two fingers of rye and a bottle of beer each, ignoring his raised eyebrows and half-hearted, hesitant ‘Scully…’
He’d switched to water three rounds ago, around the time her head had started bobbing to the music crackling over the speakers. He was glad he had, happy in the knowledge that he’d still be able to remember her swaying in the morning, never wanting to forget the image of her arms spread and her eyes half-closed as she swirled herself around a couple of feet away from him with no real connection to the music. When she slipped, wobbling into him with a chuckle on her lips and a hand on his chest, he smiled and tucked a wisp of hair behind her ear, placing a hand on her lower back, ‘I think you’ve had enough. Let’s get you back to bed.’
She blinks up at him dopily, a smirk colouring her lips, and he has to clear his throat, shake his head, ‘not like that, come on.’
He can’t deny he hasn’t thought about it, contemplated unwrapping his pretty little spy, tasting the dimple at the base of her spine, flickering his tongue across her freckles as he charted their constelations - after all, she’d bared herself to him back when they first met, fueling many a fantasy over the past year. But he’d come to rely on her as his voice of reason, come to enjoy her company even more, and he had no desire to put that at risk, no desire to see her look of shame and disappointment in the morning.
He thinks if she looked at him like that, he might just die.
II.
He proffers his hand, pulling her up and spinning her to the throaty strains of Cher. When she collides with his chest, he holds her tight, losing himself in the depths of her ocean eyes as they slow dance in a crowded room.
She’s back from the dead, and he swears that he won’t take her for granted, not this time.
He spins her and she’s clumsy, a juxtaposition he can’t help but find endearing. This is a woman who can outshoot him nine times out of ten, whose steady hands have stitched him back together more times than he can count, but set her to music and she loses all semblance of grace.
Her eyes are bright, though, and her cheeks rosy as she crashes back into him, and he wants to fall to his knees at her feet, praise her for existing, swear fealty. Instead, her turns her under his arm and draws her in tight, presses a kiss to her temple and hides his face in her hair.
III.
They’re at a gala, some fundraiser that Skinner requested their presence at. She’s danced the night away in the arms of various assistant directors, following their lead and smiling politely at their jokes. He watches from a dark corner, swirling his untouched prosecco and quashing the tightness in his chest at the sight of her ducking her head demurely as Skinner cuts in. He knows she’s just keeping up appearances, knows that he’s the one she’s going home with, knows that the only person seeing what she’s got under that slinky dress tonight will be him, but the gnawing jealousy still tingles in his peripheries, itches at his palms, as the Skinman presses a soft kiss to her cheek, brushes a palm against her satin-clad hip.
She catches his eye across the room, an enigmatic smile playing at the corner of her lips as she extracts herself from their boss’s arms, inclines her head as she ducks out of the room, and who is he to ignore such an intriguing mystery?
He finds her in a service corridor running along the back of the ballroom, clearly a passage for the hotel staff and unintended for guests, but the string quartet that’s playing for the event can still be heard. She’s lounging against the wall, studying her manicure when he approaches, all black satin and coiffured hair, and he thinks she might just be the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, a silent movie star with dark-stained lips. ‘You haven’t danced with anyone all night,’ she murmurs as he slouches alongside her, straightening his tie without making eye contact, ‘I hope it hasn’t been on my account.’
‘There’s only one person I want to dance with here tonight, and I don’t think anybody would be happy to see it.’
‘Well, I’m sure if you asked, Skinner wouldn’t mind taking your hand. But I’ll warn you, he’s surprisingly light on his feet.’
‘And you think I’m not?’
She glances up at him, mirth lining the creases of her smile, and takes his hand, letting him lead her to the centre of the corridor. His hand settles on the small of her back, the other folding around her own, and he waits a moment to pick up the phrase of the music. She stumbles the first few steps, but he’s confident in this, at least, guiding her in a lilting waltz with the cadence of summers on the Vineyard, ocean waves lapping at the marina hulls. Sometimes she forgets his upbringing, old money and expectations, finds herself swelling with pride at the man he is.
The music fades, and he draws her close, her mouth pliant under his when he kisses her. ‘Take me home, Mulder,’ she whispers into him, and his hand tightens on her hips for a moment, anticipation fizzling in his fingertips. He has to pull away, knowing all too well that he no longer has the restraint he’s been reigning himself in with for the past seven years. Hand in hand, he leads her further away from the ballroom, through a set of swing doors, further into the territory of the staff, away from the threat of prying eyes and workplace rumours. They can hear the clatter of a kitchen not far off, and a little investigating finds them a tray of sweet canapes that’s yet to go out. He holds a fruit tart out for her and she takes a delicate bite, moaning at the burst of tart passionfruit, licks the fleck of cream that ends up on his top lip when he swallows the rest.
‘Do you think anyone will notice we’re gone?’
’Probably not,’ she murmurs, and they both know it’s a lie. She’s been the centre of attention the entire night, everyone wanting a turn to twirl the beautiful Mrs Spooky around the floor, ask her hushed questions about why she still skulks around in the basement with that crackpot, ole’ Spooky Mulder, when she could be working her way up the ranks. He could probably get away with leaving, would put money on nobody even noticing he’s no longer sulking in the corner, but she’ll be missed. She traps herself between his body and the wall, pulling him into her, and she tastes sweet and tart and like there’s no end in sight, like he’s hopelessly, inevitably lost in her, like she’s his beginning and end and everything in between. He’s melting, evaporating, solidifying and sublimating, convinced that he’ll fuse himself into her, and he feels tipsy, heady, drunk on her.
‘Hey!’ their heads dart up, wide eyes staring at the waist-coated waiter, ‘you can’t be back here!’
They lock eyes for a moment, a silent agreement passing between them, and then they’re off, running down the corridor hand in hand, the satin of her dress billowing out behind her as their dress shoes crack on the parquet flooring, grins plastered on their faces as they sprint through the corridors and down the front stairs. There was no need to run, the waiter had more important things to do than chase them, but their peels of laughter followed them down a block and a half before they pulled to a stop, crumpling into one another as they slumped against the cool glass of a late night pizza place, the warm light spilling out around them and casting their shadows long on the pavement. ‘Take me home, Mulder,’ she gasps as they try to catch their breath, her eyes twinkling as they catch on his.
The next morning she’ll get a call from Skinner’s assistant, informing her she left her coat in the cloakroom, her cell and wallet tucked neatly in the pockets. She’s just about to hang up when Arlene clears her throat, hesitates, ‘Agent Mulder also forgot his coat, and he’s not picking up his home phone. Do you know how I can contact him?’
IV.
The summer had been hot and sultry, dust accumulating on every surface, the grass crackling in the heat. He can feel the storm before it breaks, sense the tingle up his spine, itches at the electricity that fizzles across his skin. The first distant roll of thunder echoes through the open windows only moments before the fat drops of rain start falling, and he drags her out with the promise of puddles and petrichor.
The ground has dried to cracking, the hard earth too dehydrated to absorb the rainfall, and it splashes around their bare feet as he pulls her into the meadow, spinning her around with gleeful cries and cheers. Within seconds, their hair is plastered to their face, and their clothes are drenched. She’s beautiful, a nymph whirling through the downpour, joy spilling from every inch of her, and he watches for a moment as she pulls in a breath of crisp air, lets it out on a cackling laugh. Her eyes lock on his, and he’s falling in love all over again, tumbling head over heel into her arms. They sway to the rumble of thunder, the patter of rain in the dusty dirt as it works itself into a muddy slurry beneath their feet, a song only they can hear. Steps that have creaked across the porch, warmed by the golden glow of sunset. A rhythm established on the kitchen tile. Lightening splinters the gloom and he hoists her into his arms, making a beeline for the house.
They make love on the paint-peeling porch, wet clothes peeled off and left scattered in a trail from the meadow. She’s his safe harbour, his sanctuary, his retreat.
V.
She comes home to him on a Sunday. His old transistor sits on the desk in the living room, staticky but still functional as he brings in the last of her boxes from the car. She didn’t take much when she left, and she’s returning with even less. She’s bobbing her head along out of time with the music whilst she’s unpacking a box of medical texts, stacking them neatly along the bookshelf. When they were younger she’d always been so stoic around music, a tapping of the foot the only thing he’d ever get out of her. It took years to realise she was tone deaf with two left feet, even longer to realise she was so self conscious about it that he could count on one hand the number of times she’d felt free enough to dance around him.
Stevie Nicks is singing about rain, and he watches as her shoulders start shifting. The last book is slid into place and her arms drift up above her head, a soft smile playing on her lips as she closes her eyes and dances, right there in their living room.
She startles when he turns the music up slightly, freezes for a moment until he starts dancing too, and then they’re both dancing, singing loudly without a care in the world towards how they actually sound. He hasn’t seen her this free in years, maybe not since they danced in the rain, maybe not even since she spun under the dim yellow lights of a shitty dive bar. Her smile banishes the darkness that threatens to creep into the corners, though, and he falls in love all over again as she trips and stumbles into him, crying out his name with laughter as he picks her up and spins her around. It’s going to be different this time, he promises, and for the first time they both believe it.
She’s here. She’s home. She’s his.

Once Upon a Pixar (2026)
Hello. It's me, and this is the Pixar version of Once Upon a Studio called Once Upon a Pixar.
(The film opens with the headquarters at Pixar as the employees leave for the day.)
Pixar Intern: It's so incredible to think that George Lucas started Pixar back in 1979 until it was founded by Steve Jobs in 1986 40 years ago today. To think of all those talented animators and unforgettable characters who have been a part of the studio over the years.
Pete Docter: Yep. (as he and the intern turn around one last time) If the characters could talk to each other.
(Pete Docter and the intern leave as the door closes while the title comes up: "Once Upon a Pixar". The camera zooms into a photo picture of Woody, Jessie and Bullseye running on a record player. Woody glances back as everything seems quiet in the lobby.)
Woody: Psst! Atta. Princess Atta. You there?
(Princess Atta flies into the lobby and over to his picture.)
Woody: Is that it? They all gone?
Princess Atta: Yep, they're all gone.
Woody: Yee-haw! (he, Jessie and Bullseye leap out of the picture) Come on, Jessie, this is it.
Jessie: Let's get everyone. Yodel-ay-hee-hoo!
Joy: (gasps) There's the signal! All right, everyone! (she, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust jump out of their production cell) It's picture time!
Elio: That's tonight?
Joy: That's now.
Ember Lumen: The 40-year group photo. (she and Wade jump out of their production cell as well) And the sun's going down. Come on, Wade, let's feel the burn!
Wade: Ooh, a fire pun. (chuckles) Got to like that.
(Suddenly, Arlo and Spot come out of their production cell as Wade gasps and goes against the wall.)
Arlo: (chuckles nervously) Sorry.
Woody: Picture time, gang!
Mei Lee: (chuckles) Okay, here we come!
(Mei Lee, Miriam, Abby, Priya and Tyler jump out of their production cell while they laugh.)
Abby: Wake up, everyone!
(The Oozma Kappa come out of their production cell as Squishy yells while Russell, Carl and Dug walk down the hallway.)
Russell: Whoa!
Dug: Awesome!
Russell: Oh, Mr. Lightyear! Get the folks upstairs!
Buzz Lightyear: Roger that, Russell. To infinity and beyond!
(Buzz Lightyear flies upstairs as Lightning McQueen drives happily down the hall with Mater.)
Mater: Yee-haw!
Merida: (jumps out of her production cell) It's picture time! (runs to the lobby) We're meeting at the lobby!
Flik: Okay! See you there!
(Miguel Rivera and Riley Andersen ride on Dim as Dim flies to the lobby.)
Miguel Rivera: (hollers)
(Francis gives a fun ride to Dash Parr.)
Dash Parr: Whoa! Higher! (laughs)
(Francis chuckles as Remy and Emile slide down the stairs as Luca Paguro lands on the floor and sighs as he catches Nemo.)
Nemo: Water.
Luca Paguro: (shudders and rushes to the counter)
P.T. Flea: No, no, no, there's no time for snacks!
Luca Paguro: Uh, Andy! A little help here?
Andy Davis: Oh, uh, let me see here. There we go, a nice bucket of water.
(Luca Paguro dunks Nemo to a bucket of water.)
Nemo: (grunts)
Linguini: (chuckles) Oh, waiter! There's a fish in the bucket! (laughs)
(Ernesto de la Cruz tries to get candy from the vending machine while he curses in Spanish as Mr. Incredible and Frozone walk down the hall.)
Mr. Incredible: Yikes! Do you think all the villains might catch up?
Frozone: Hmm. (freezes Syndrome in his frame) Not all.
Syndrome: (strains)
(Rex goes to the elevator with Imelda Rivera, Manticore, Ian, Barley and Laurel Lightfoot.)
Imelda Rivera: Going down?
Roz: Hold the elevator. I'm going to the lobby.
Rex: Huh? Oh, you've got to be joking.
(Joe Gardner hums to "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" while he draws Hector Rivera.)
Brook Ripple: Hey, black man. Shake a leg, will ya?
Joe Gardner: The leg won't make a difference, it's all in the wrist.
(Hector Rivera bursts out of the drawing as Joe Gardner shrieks in surprise.)
Hector Rivera: Ay! I haven't seen a fall like that since Spain. (fixes the chair) Oh! Much better.
(At the men's room, Hopper, 4*Town and Chef Skinner freshen up as Chef Skinner blows a kiss and chuckles. Suddenly, Tuck and Roll appear in front of his eyes, laughing, as Jessie opens the door.)
Jessie: Let's move it, gentlemen!
(While Lorenzo Paguro tries to free his wife Daniela Paguro from her picture, Giulia Marcovaldo walk with Buster, Mr. Mittens, Larry and Machivelli.)
Giulia Marcovaldo: Uh-huh. Meeting at the lobby. Don't eat the rats.
(Scud tries to eat Remy and Emile but Dante pops up and scares Scud away, thus saving the rats' lives. While Izzy and her team walk by, Mei Lee and her friends watch a cartoon on a TV.)
Izzy Hawthorne: Come on, everyone, you're gonna have nightmares.
(Zurg pops out of the TV and scares Mei Lee and her friends away, laughing. Back at the elevator, Roz makes it in time.)
Roz: Thanks very much for holding the elevator.
Rex: (groans)
Evelyn Deavor: I'm also going to the lobby as well.
Rex: Huh? Oh, come on!
(While M-O is being followed and annoyed by Dot, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson follow down the stairs, where Mr. Anderson is the one to drop his wallet and they laugh. Buster picks up the wallet and runs off with it.)
Mr. Anderson: Hey, Buster! Andy, get your dog!
(Woody follows up the stairs as he looks amused when he sees Underminer leading Colette Tatou with his hypnosis watch.)
Woody: Underminer? Underminer! You-- You stop that now, Underminer!
Rosie: Don't worry, Woody. (chuckles) I got this.
(Rosie hits Underminer offscreen unconsciously.)
Woody: Huh. (gasps) Wow.
(Woody looks up at photographs of John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, Lee Unkrich and Joe Ranft while he takes his hat off.)
Buzz Lightyear: Oh, Woody, where are you? We're at the lobby!
Woody: (chuckles) Got to go, but thanks. (puts his hat back on) On with the show.
(At the lobby, Woody rides on WALL-E with a fire extinguisher)
Woody: Yee-haw!
Mike Wazowski: Coast is clear, Sheriff.
Woody: Great! (holds the door open) Right this way, everybody.
(Sulley bumps into the door.)
Woody: Oh! Sulley, are you okay?
James P. Sullivan: (grunts) Never better, Eastwood. (accidentally trips the trash can)
Stinky Pete: I knew I'm surrounded by... (gets startled by Slim who rides on EVE) Idiots!
Slim: Tallyho! Whee! I'll show you the world! (laughs)
Woody: Oh, great, the ladder.
(Buzz sets the ladder while he hums.)
Mr. Dicker: Every time it gets hard. Money, money, money.
Woody: All right, everyone. Get-- Get together now. (to Tinny) Oh. After you, Tinny.
Emile: Oh. Pardon me.
Francis: (holds up a camera) Here's the camera, Lightyear.
Buzz Lightyear: (takes a camera and chuckles) Thanks, Francis. (climbs up the ladder)
Woody: Buzz, be careful!
Buzz Lightyear: (makes it to the top) All right, now where's the timer button?
Molt: Oh, oh! Three, two, one! (Randall Boggs grins)
(Buzz accidentally falls off while he screams and breaks the camera. As Buster walks to the broken camera, Buzz recognizes it.)
Andy Davis: Come on, Buster. (Buster runs back to Andy)
Buzz Lightyear: Huh? Oh, no. It's ruined.
Anger: Well, that was fun!
Sadness: Maybe we can try again in another forty years.
(The characters sigh disappointedly and are about to leave.)
Woody: Oh, no, no, wait. Come back. It-- It-- It'll be fine. It'll be...
(Just as the characters are about to leave, Randy Newman appears from nowhere while he plays "You've Got a Friend in Me" on piano with his orchestra.)
Randy Newman: ♪ You've got a friend in me ♪

Hopper: I knew this was gonna happen.
Randy Newman: ♪ You just remember what your old pal said ♪

♪ Yeah, you've got a friend in me ♪
(While the song goes on, Mr. Incredible fixes the camera as Buzz looks excited and Sulley puts the ladder back in position. Manny and Gipsy lift Buzz to help him up as Buzz sets the camera up for the photo.)

(The camera flashes as the group photo in the Pixar hall is taken, and the short ends with a text "To the animators, directors and crew of Pixar who worked for 40 years on movies and short films, Thank You." and then the song ends.)
Well, I think this is the transcript. I hope you like it. I also hope Pixar does a new short film like Once Upon a Studio did. Have a Happy New Year.
