Low-key, isn't Rosie one of the most interesting overlords? She seems to have an outlook on life in hell that we've only seen in Carmille and Charlie.
What I mean is: her district is the most civilised one, from what we've seen. Charlie was surprised, she definitely wasn't expecting that from Cannibal Town after all.
Even in the Alastor comic that takes place there it's heavily implied that the district is generally orderly, and (this detail I don't remember if it came from the comic or a livestream) most people can transit it freely as long as they adhere to the district's take on "good customs". Compared to wherever the Hotel is (battle zone nearby), wherever Angel went to drink with Husk (riddled by Mafia, violence on the streets), the Vees zone (looked expensive but sketchy), it's not too bad.
Which, I think as a concept can be dissected in many ways. The series has already implied that sinners tend to stick to sinners from a similar era, often clustering as a result. So from that POV, maybe it's not weird that so many late 1800s-early 1900s peeps are in Rosie's district. But what if this was also encouraged by design, by Rosie?
There's a lot to say on the topic of "I will welcome you into this community that upholds this set of old-timey values. If you agree to comply, you'll be in one of the most civilised districts in hell". Which values are those, exactly? Is it fair to ask that from someone in exchange of security? Of course, this is hell, so maybe they should be thankful Rosie doesn't ask for more.
There's also the way Rosie seems to interact with the cannibals. She's friendly! She keeps tabs on the personal affairs they discuss with her, she seems to offer good advice in turn! She even allows Susan to stay and be a nay sayer and a heckler, even though she admits she doesn't like her.
She tells Charlie while talking about Vaggie, "so she's not perfect, who here is? / So she made a mistake, who here hasn't?" (Can't quite recall what she says in the English dub, this is probably not accurate lol), isn't that a very compassionate outlook of sinners? This is why I compare her to Charlie, maybe even Carmilla. She seems to believe that wanting to live a proper, relatively normal life in hell should be an option, regardless of what landed people there.
And don't get me wrong, this is still the person that enables cannibalism lol, and I do believe that the reason why she allowed her cannibals to decide if they wanted to fight against Exorcists is that it would've impacted the cannibal's food availability lol. You don't get to be an overlord by not protecting your interests, it's only logical that she'd make strategic moves like this.
It all makes me very, VERY curious about her backstory. How did she rise as an overlord, can she fight, is she powerful? She definitely seems influential within her circle, and she seems to have an excellent grasp on soft power. I'm thinking of this post theorising that she became an overlord through what's essentially community-building, and that that's why her cannibals look like her. Oh, how I'd love for that to be true. I'd loooooove to see an overlord rise to power using other strategies, although at the same time I'd LOVE to see her fight.
Anyways, I love Rosie. More of her forever please & thx 💜

SEE: Mellow/Ambient Music | Haux - “Claire De Lune”
Tumblr media
Haux, the alias of the Berkshires' Woodson Black, shares his new single "Claire De Lune." The new song is the second offering from his forthcoming sophomore album Blue Angeles, due spring 2024 via Ultra Records. Produced by Thomas Bartlett at Reservoir Studios, "Claire De Lune" is layered with cascading piano and soft guitar and arrives with a video featuring dancer Sayer Mansfield of Pilobolus and Compagnie Marie Chouinard. "Claire De Lune" comes after the lead single "Carte Blanche," which dropped with a self-directed video. Speaking about "Claire De Lune," Black shares, “I had a close friend who died in an accident six years ago. I was on tour in Vienna at the time and got the call after my show. I didn’t make it back for the service and the years flew by. I always wished I could like rewrite the script and be there for her at the end. It’s like this song became my own funeral fairytale. It gave me the chance to finally say goodbye in person.” Produced by Thomas Bartlett (Taylor Swift, Florence + The Machine, Sufjan Stevens), Maxwell Byrne (Mallrat), and Aug E. Rose, Blue Angeles was recorded in Los Angeles, New York City, and The Berkshires. The album follows Black as he attempts to outrun the past on highways across the United States until he eventually reaches the end of the road in Los Angeles, where he explores his own addiction and spirituality until ultimately finding healing in nature. When he returned home from Los Angeles, Black began a new chapter of his journey with his best friend at his grandmother’s East Mountain Retreat Center – a center practicing radical hospitality and interfaith spiritual guidance on the Appalachian Trail. Together, over the course of a calendar year, the two finished the remaining songs for the album, built a garden and began climbing trees. Woodson shares, “I was living in denial in LA. I couldn’t see the stars at night and the movie stars were living their lives in hiding. I needed to wake up and face the music. The mountain gave me a place to reconnect with my childhood and finally put down my phone. It allowed me to make peace with myself and to give thanks for the things I have in my life.” Woodson Black has been releasing music as Haux since his debut EP All We've Known in 2016. His elusive nature, dreamy falsetto, and self-directed style have created a world where listeners can breathe fresh air. Blue Angeles is the answer to Black's question, "What happens when we stop running away?" He adds, “I needed to grow up to write this record and that isn’t something that just happens overnight. It’s taken me the better part of three years and I needed all of it to be where I am today.” It is the long-awaited follow up to Haux's debut album Violence in a Quiet Mind, which was lauded by GRAMMY.com, The New York Times, and Pitchfork and features the stand out songs "Calico" and "Eight" featuring Rosie Carney. Check out "Claire De Lune" and pre-order / save Blue Angeles above and stay tuned for more from Haux coming soon. Read the full article

Various comments and tags to this post+some replies. (+Who said what "bring a said in the name of the sayer" etc.)
Some new details make it even worse than @alldayallshit (op) wrote.
@avi-on-jumblr
HE REALLY JUST SAID I'M NOT ANTISEMITIC MY LAWYER IS JEWISH
This is even worse. The same way Jeffrey Dahmar is "not racist".
@shofarsogood
#why are people still protecting a child molester?? #he was a bad person!
Bc ppl don't care about truth and right. They care about what they think is good and right. And no one is immune to Propaganda.
@ofmdmash
#not to mention the kid he molested was a Jew #Jordan Chandler #michael Jackson sucks
Just when I thought it can't be worst.
"I'm not antisemic! I rape jews :) "
Holly shit I can't even.
@thegayhimbo
#there's a whole discussion that needs to be had about MJ's inabilitiy to take any responsibility for his grossly inappropriate behavior #i didn't know he was peddling antisemitism like that.......YIKES! 😬#and i thought roger waters was bad with his antisemitism (and russian propaganda BS)
@rosies-den
#not every jewish person is white i thought that was obvious #jfc how can people be so stupid
This is more than that.
Every jew isn't white (as in "European". The same way you won't call Iraqis or Kurds or Indians (or Hindus) white, no matter their skin tone.)
Judaism is a religion, yes, but also ethnicity and history and. I have a whole post summarise and explain genetic study about it.
One of the experiences that really highlighted to me how willing the left can be to turn a blind eye to and gaslight Jews about antisemitism was trying to talk about Michael Jackson’s antisemitism, such as in the song “They Don’t Care About Us”, which was released with the lyrics:
“Jew me, sue me, everybody do me / Kick me, kike me, don't you black or white me.”
I feel like that is shockingly straightforward with how antisemitic it is, both in its specific language (the K-slur & Jew-as-a-verb) and its conspiratorial bent in the context of the whole song. But when it came out and Jews were obviously appalled and spoke out about it, MJ made the standard “but have you considered that accusing me of bigotry offends me?” and “I was taken out of context!” statements that bigots make when they get called out on their bigotry.
As for MJ’s claim that he was taken out of context, here is some context: In 1993, MJ’s relationship with the press deteriorated when they began covering allegations of his child sex abuse. In the midst of this, tabloids ran a lot of scummy, sensationalized headlines—ruthlessly mocking his appearance and eccentricities and even running entirely false stories. This marked a drastic shift in MJ’s lyrics, which began to focus heavily on his victimhood (both real and perceived, often conflating both and tying them to broader social issues), with many of the songs on the next album HIStory (1995) being about this. “They Don’t Care About Us” is on this album. In 2003, there were revelations that Michael Jackson had grown close with members of Nation of Islam (a fringe and antisemitic hate group), and in 2005, Good Morning America aired a phone recording of Michael Jackson calling Jews “leeches”, claiming Jews had targeted him for his wealth, and saying “It’s a conspiracy. Jews do it on purpose”.
This is the context of Michael Jackson singing about being a stand-in for the victims of all kinds of real world oppression like racism and police brutality, and then saying he was being “Jewed” and “kiked”. It came out that he was molesting little kids, and rather than face the music, he tried to dodge responsibility by conflating those allegations with racism and the gross, sensationalist bullshit that tabloids were running on him; he wove all these things together in a narrative that he could use to wrap himself up in victimhood & conspiracy to position himself as not just a martyr, but the very archetype of martyrdom so that the world could, as he sang on the same album in his cover of John Lennon’s song, “Come together, over me.”
The lyrics were later changed to replace “Jew” & “kike” with abstract noise that drowned out the words or repetitions of “sue” & “strike”. But even so, this is still a song, not truly about inequality and injustice, but using inequality and injustice to shield a child molester from responsibility. And the fact that “Jew” can so easily be replaced with “sue”, not simply in sound but in meaning, without disrupting the narrative and tone of the song, belies the fact that Michael Jackson believed himself to be a victim of some sort of conspiracy between “(((The Media)))” and greedy Jewish lawyers.
And yet, trying to talk about this to this day, even with the benefit of hindsight, when it’s pretty well-accepted that MJ was in fact a child molester and knowing what he said about Jews after this song came out, it is next to impossible to get people to see the antisemitism in him tying together all oppression in the world as him being “Jewed” and “kiked” by (((The System)))—even when he literally says “Jew”, even when he says the K-slur, even when he refers to Jews as blood-suckers, even when he literally says Jews are conspiring against him. When people started using the song as part of the George Floyd protests, and I was like “hey, maybe that’s not a great idea” and gently tried to explain this context, I was ignored, told it didn’t matter because the song was about inequality, told Black people have every right to distrust Jews “because Jews are White” and stabbed Black people in the back by embracing Whiteness, etc. etc.
I think that is one of the times that really started to make it clear to me, “oh, yeah no, leftists can be staring straight at a K-slur in the mouth of a known sex offender and still say it’s fine”—something leftists generally would not do for any other vulnerable minority. It still astounds me.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last few days...
Leah Messer Passed Her Real Estate Exams; Her Sister Victoria Says “In Your Face” to Leah’s Haters
Leah announced on Wednesday that she has officially passed both of the exams required to become a real estate agent in her home state.
Leah celebrated the achievement by posting a pic from one of her many, many professional photoshoots, captioning it with her achievements, which now include completing the Real Estate Salesperson Exam.
Tumblr media
Over the past few years, Leah has shared her desire to enter the real estate world, but during a 2022 episode of ‘Teen Mom 2,’ Leah attempted to take one of her required tests but was unable to, due to a “system flaw.” Leah was criticized months later for still not taking the test.
Last month, though, Leah told her Instagram followers that she had passed the state portion of her real estate exam, but still needed to pass the national portion of the test.
West Virginia requires that its real estate sales agents complete 90 hours of coursework before they can even take the exam. The four classes required are Real Estate Principles & Practices (30 hours); Real Estate Law (20 hours); Real Estate Finance (20 hours); and Real Estate Appraisal (20 hours). The applicant must score at least 70% or higher in each class in order to be eligible to take the exam.
Now that Leah has passed both the state and national portions of her exam, she has 90 days to apply for her real estate agent license.
Leah’s sister, Victoria Messer, took to Instagram on Wednesday to not only congratulate her sister but to also drag all of the nay-sayers who didn’t believe Leah would actually complete the task she set out to do. Victoria told the haters that she is very proud to say Leah, did, indeed, “finish through” her exams.
“This is for all you a**holes who like to troll the Internet and for the a**holes outside the Internet that liked to talk s**t and say she wouldn’t ever finish through with her real estate, y’all all just got smack in the face!” Victoria wrote in the caption of Leah’s “businesswoman” headshot. “As of today she has PASSED and she is now entering the real estate world!”
Victoria then seemed to get in a dig at Leah’s ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert, by implying that Leah takes care of their daughter, Addie, solo.
“Soo beyond proud of her for accomplishing this and taking care of her three girls and one child she takes care of all by herself and doing a damn good job! Keep going, keep shining, keep growing!! Love you infinity.”
Ashley Jones’ Mom, Tea Chapple, is Getting a Divorce
‘Teen Mom’ grandma Tea Chapple is getting back into the dating scene.
According to The Sun, the mom of Ashley Jones filed for divorce from her husband, Roosevelt Chapple, last week.
Tea has since gone on to confirm the news herself on social media.
“Many thought I would never do it but I love myself more… I filed for divorce,” she wrote on Facebook. “I thank Yah for the strength it took. Long overdue and thankful I’m escaping with my sanity and what’s left of my heart.”
As viewers saw on a recent episode of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter,’ Tea told Ashley that she had also been “constantly fighting” with Ashley’s stepdad and was concerned about the impact it was having on Ashley’s younger sister Rosie.
According to court papers obtained by The Sun, Tea is requesting sole custody of the couple’s 11-year-old daughter Rosie. She is also asking for $512 a month in child support, and $300 a month in spousal support for the next four years. Tea stated that a visitation schedule for Rosie and Roosevelt has already been established.
Surprisingly, Shen Williams— the mother of Ashley’s husband Bar Smith, shared some kind words with Tea this week regarding her recent split.
“Prayers to her I been there,” she commented on the @TeenMomFanz‘ Instagram post about the divorce. “When I went thru it I took a beating publicly and I’m private. I would never wish this on anyone nor should they endure judgement. Prayers for her healing.”
Cory Wharton Wants to Have More Kids With His Girlfriend Taylor Selfridge
Cory says his baby-making days are far from over.
In a new interview with The Sun, the father of three revealed recently that he wants to have more children with girlfriend Taylor Selfridge, who made her return to ‘Teen Mom’ this season
“I definitely want another kid or two,” Cory revealed.
As fans of ‘Teen Mom’ (or The Challenge) already know, Cory and Taylor are parents to two daughters: three-year-old Mila and one-year-old Maya. Cory also shares six-year-old daughter Ryder with ex Cheyenne Floyd.
While Cory is currently living that #GirlDad life, he says he’s determined to father a son.
“I want a boy. You guys know I need my boy,” Cory said. “So it needs to happen.”
Cory seemed to insist that this need to father a son is partially due to Ryder recently telling him that she didn’t want to play sports and instead, wants to pursue singing and dancing.
“I said, ‘Oh my heart!’ But I’m going to support her no matter what,” he said.
While Cory plans to continue adding to the population in the near future, he doesn’t plan to put a ring on Taylor’s finger anytime soon.
“No, we’re good right now, but we got some things coming out in the future,” he said.
Former ‘Teen Mom 2’ Grandpa Eddie Rivera Has Remarried
Jo Rivera‘s pops is once again a married man.
The former ‘Teen Mom 2’ grandpa shared photos to Facebook over the weekend featuring he and his new bride at their wedding.
Tumblr media
(Jo nor his wife, Vee Torres, have posted any photos of the newlyweds’ nuptials to their own socials.)
According to the couple’s wedding website, Eddie married a woman named Ysabel, and the nuptials took place in Union, New Jersey, on Saturday, September 16.
Longtime fans of 16 and Pregnant and ‘Teen Mom 2’ may remember Eddie and then-wife, Janet Mantalvo, often appearing alongside Jo and Kail on the show. The couple’s other son, Junior Rivera, was also featured in early seasons.
Eddie and Janet divorced in the early 2010s. Janet has not remarried.

Not a Book Friday
Tumblr media
When Rose Sayer's mission village is attacked and her brother dies, Boat Captain Charlie Allnut comes to her rescue, sort of, with his boat, The African Queen. Then, Rose comes up with an idea, World War I is going on, and there's a German boat out in a lake that is preventing the British from getting in and fighting the Germans in Africa. So, they (heh, mostly Rose) plan to blow up that boat, using the African Queen and some ingenuity.
Then, for most of the rest of the movie, it's Charlie and Rosie's journey down the river. And, it's not an easy one, reeds, bugs, animals that are not entirely friendly to those who go in the water. And, rapids and waterfalls too.
This, viewed in the current climate and time isn’t a perfect movie (I winced a couple of times at the very beginning). But, then there’s the fact that, it’s also brilliant. I'm not sure that there are any actors like Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart these days who could basically carry an entire movie. Just the two of them (and the boat and the River) was all that was on screen for something like 80 or 90% of the movie. And, they were good. And, it wasn't boring, the growth of their relationship, the troubles that they had to figure out ways out of. Her growth from a missionary woman with not much agency, to Rosie kicking butt and taking no prisoners, his growth into the guy that she seemed to see from the very beginning, a hero. It's called an Adventure Movie in most of the PR, but, it was that, and also quite the romance too. Just, an amazing movie, ah, once you got past the few minutes at the beginning.

Book Recommendations: New Mysteries
A Murder at Balmoral by Chris McGeorge
The royal family has gathered at their Scottish retreat, Balmoral Castle, for a traditional Christmas--and King Eric has given nearly all of the staff the day off. As a blizzard gathers outside and a delicious dinner is prepared, the family circles up for the traditional holiday toast. King Eric makes clear he has something momentous to say--in fact, he will name his chosen successor. But as he raises a glass of his favorite whiskey from a bottle that has just been sealed, he drops dead.
The King has been poisoned, only the royal family are present, and each one of them has opportunity and motive.
The only person at Balmoral who keeps his wits about him is the beloved head chef, Jonathan--an outsider in the eyes of the royal family, and one who is now hurled into the role of sleuth. In a state of shock, out of his depth, and possibly in a killer's crosshairs, Jonathan must confront a hopeless case. Why would one of the king's own family members want to kill him? And how did they do it?
The answers will shake the monarchy and the entire British Empire to its core.
A Trace of Poison by Colleen Cambridge
Phyllida Bright, housekeeper for Agatha Christie, must uncover a killer among a throng of crime writers.
In England’s stately manor houses, murder is not generally a topic for polite conversation. Mallowan Hall, home to Agatha Christie and her husband, Max, is the exception. And housekeeper Phyllida Bright delights in discussing gory plot details with her friend and employer . . .
The neighboring village of Listleigh has also become a hub of grisly goings-on, thanks to a Murder Fête organized to benefit a local orphanage. Members of The Detection Club—a group of celebrated authors such as G.K. Chesterton, Dorothy L. Sayers, and Agatha herself—will congregate for charitable events, including a writing contest for aspiring authors. The winner gets an international publishing contract, and entrants have gathered for a cocktail party—managed by the inimitable Phyllida—when murder strikes too close even for her comfort.
It’s a mystery too intriguing for Phyllida to resist, but one fraught with duplicity and danger, for every guest is an expert in murder—and how to get away with it.
This is the second volume in the “Phyllida Bright Mystery” series.
Blackmail and Bibingka by Mia P. Manansala
It's Christmastime in Shady Palms, but things are far from jolly for Lila Macapagal. Sure, her new business, The Brew-ha Cafe, is looking to turn a profit in its first year. And yes, she's taken the first step in a new romance with her good friend, Jae Park. But her cousin Ronnie is back in town after ghosting the family fifteen years ago, claiming that his recent purchase of a local winery shows that he's back on his feet and ready to give back to the Shady Palms community. Tita Rosie is thrilled with the return of her prodigal son, but Lila knows that wherever Ronnie goes, trouble follows.
She's soon proven right when Ronnie is accused of murder, and secrets and rumors surrounding her shady cousin and those involved with the winery start piling up. Now Lila has to put away years of resentment and distrust to prove her cousin's innocence. He may be a jerk, but he's still family. And there's no way her flesh and blood could actually be a murderer...right?
This is the third volume in the “Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mystery” series.
Dead and Gondola by Ann Claire
Ellie Christie is thrilled to begin a new chapter. She’s recently returned to her tiny Colorado hometown to run her family’s historic bookshop with her elder sister, Meg, and their friendly bookshop cat, Agatha. Perched in a Swiss-style hamlet accessible by ski gondola and a twisty mountain road, the Book Chalet is a famed bibliophile destination known for its maze of shelves and relaxing reading lounge with cozy fireside seats and panoramic views. At least, until trouble blows in with a wintery whiteout. A man is found dead on the gondola, and a rockslide throws the town into lockdown—no one in, no one out.
He was a mysterious stranger who visited the bookshop. At the time, his only blunders were disrupting a book club and leaving behind a first-edition Agatha Christie novel, written under a pseudonym. However, once revealed, the man’s identity shocks the town. Many residents knew of him. Quite a few had reason to want him dead. Others hide secrets. The police gather suspects, but when they narrow in on the sisters’ close friends, the Christies have to act.
Although the only Agatha in their family tree is their cat, Ellie and Meg know a lot about mysteries, and they’re not about to let the situation snowball out of control. The Christie sisters must summon their inner Miss Marples and trek through a blizzard of clues before the killer turns the page to their final chapter.
This is the first volume in the “Christie Bookshop” series.
Because I Could Not Stop for Death by Amanda Flower
January 1855 Willa Noble knew it was bad luck when it was pouring rain on the day of her ever-important job interview at the Dickinson home in Amherst, Massachusetts. When she arrived late, disheveled with her skirts sodden and filthy, she'd lost all hope of being hired for the position. As the housekeeper politely told her they'd be in touch, Willa started toward the door of the stately home only to be called back by the soft but strong voice of Emily Dickinson. What begins as tenuous employment turns to friendship as the reclusive poet takes Willa under her wing. Tragedy soon strikes and Willa's beloved brother, Henry, is killed in a tragic accident at the town stables. With no other family and nowhere else to turn, Willa tells Emily about her brother's death and why she believes it was no accident. Willa is convinced it was murder. Henry had been very secretive of late, only hinting to Willa that he'd found a way to earn money to take care of them both. Viewing it first as a puzzle to piece together, Emily offers to help, only to realize that she and Willa are caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse that reveals corruption in Amherst that is generations deep. Some very high-powered people will stop at nothing to keep their profitable secrets even if that means forever silencing Willa and her new mistress....
This is the first volume in the “An Emily Dickinson Mystery” series.

Characters: Charles “Charlie” Allnut and Rose “Rosie” Sayer Allnut
Media: The African Queen (1951)
Played by: Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn
Setting: 1914, Uganda
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Charlie Allnut is a rough, hard-drinking, chain-smoking Canadian mechanic who delivers supplies to the English missionaries on the African coastline on his way to the mines where he works, sailing in his trusty boat, the African Queen.
Rose Sayer is a prim and proper British Methodist missionary who lives with her brother Samuel in the African village of Kungdu, where they tolerate Charlie’s coarse behavior whenever he arrives to deliver their supplies.
When WWI breaks out and Samuel is killed by German troops, Rose flees aboard the African Queen, where she and Charlie clash in every possible way. However, after a very rocky start onboard, Rose hatches a plan: to use the ship as a torpedo and destroy a devastating German gunboat. Though Charlie is opposed to this idea at first, they finally ally and work towards completing their plan, coming to respect one another in the process. Fighting their way through merciless rapids, poisonous leeches, and military executions, Charlie and Rose fall in love and stubbornly decide that they want to be together, no matter how different they are and no matter what they have to battle along the way.

‘They had played there from after dinner (12.30 according to the gate-keeper) till nearly tea-time (four o’clock). She was absolutely sure the nasty man had not come through the railway-wickets. If he had, she would have run away.
This seemed to dispose of the last lingering possibility that the mysterious Mr Martin might have left the Feathers rather earlier than he was supposed to have done, walked to the crossing and been picked up by a car on the other side. Wimsey thanked Rosie with grave courtesy, gave her sixpence and drove on.’
--Dorothy L. Sayers, Have His Carcase (1932), Chapter XII. “The Evidence of the Bride’s Son.”
