Low-key, isn't Rosie one of the most interesting overlords? She seems to have an outlook on life in hell that we've only seen in Carmille and Charlie.
What I mean is: her district is the most civilised one, from what we've seen. Charlie was surprised, she definitely wasn't expecting that from Cannibal Town after all.
Even in the Alastor comic that takes place there it's heavily implied that the district is generally orderly, and (this detail I don't remember if it came from the comic or a livestream) most people can transit it freely as long as they adhere to the district's take on "good customs". Compared to wherever the Hotel is (battle zone nearby), wherever Angel went to drink with Husk (riddled by Mafia, violence on the streets), the Vees zone (looked expensive but sketchy), it's not too bad.
Which, I think as a concept can be dissected in many ways. The series has already implied that sinners tend to stick to sinners from a similar era, often clustering as a result. So from that POV, maybe it's not weird that so many late 1800s-early 1900s peeps are in Rosie's district. But what if this was also encouraged by design, by Rosie?
There's a lot to say on the topic of "I will welcome you into this community that upholds this set of old-timey values. If you agree to comply, you'll be in one of the most civilised districts in hell". Which values are those, exactly? Is it fair to ask that from someone in exchange of security? Of course, this is hell, so maybe they should be thankful Rosie doesn't ask for more.
There's also the way Rosie seems to interact with the cannibals. She's friendly! She keeps tabs on the personal affairs they discuss with her, she seems to offer good advice in turn! She even allows Susan to stay and be a nay sayer and a heckler, even though she admits she doesn't like her.
She tells Charlie while talking about Vaggie, "so she's not perfect, who here is? / So she made a mistake, who here hasn't?" (Can't quite recall what she says in the English dub, this is probably not accurate lol), isn't that a very compassionate outlook of sinners? This is why I compare her to Charlie, maybe even Carmilla. She seems to believe that wanting to live a proper, relatively normal life in hell should be an option, regardless of what landed people there.
And don't get me wrong, this is still the person that enables cannibalism lol, and I do believe that the reason why she allowed her cannibals to decide if they wanted to fight against Exorcists is that it would've impacted the cannibal's food availability lol. You don't get to be an overlord by not protecting your interests, it's only logical that she'd make strategic moves like this.
It all makes me very, VERY curious about her backstory. How did she rise as an overlord, can she fight, is she powerful? She definitely seems influential within her circle, and she seems to have an excellent grasp on soft power. I'm thinking of this post theorising that she became an overlord through what's essentially community-building, and that that's why her cannibals look like her. Oh, how I'd love for that to be true. I'd loooooove to see an overlord rise to power using other strategies, although at the same time I'd LOVE to see her fight.
Anyways, I love Rosie. More of her forever please & thx 💜

Final casting announcement for concert version of Camelot
London Musical Theatre Orchestra is proud to announce casting for their forthcoming concert version of Camelot at the London Palladium.
Lerner and Loewe’s majestic Camelot, winner of four Tony Awards, returns to the West End for the first time in over thirty years. Packed with some of musical theatre’s best songs, LMTO’s concert version with full orchestra will celebrate the centenary of Alan Jay Lerner’s birth at the West End’s favourite theatre, the London Palladium.
The role of Arthur will be played by Olivier Award-winner David Thaxton (Passion / Les Misérables / Jesus Christ Superstar), Guenevere will be played by Savannah Stevenson (Wicked / Aspects of Love / Follies), and Lancelot will be played by internationally renowned opera star Charles Rice (Mozart’s Requiem / The Barber of Seville / Candide).
Sam Swann (Jekyll & Hyde / Mr Selfridge / Vicious / Wendy & Peter Pan) will play Mordred, Clive Carter (Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again / Oklahoma! / Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert / We Will Rock You / Into the Woods) will play both roles of Pellinore and Merlyn, Nimue will be played by Celinde Schoenmaker (Barnum / The Phantom of the Opera / Les Misérables), Matthew McKenna (Sunset Boulevard / Starlight Express / We Will Rock You / Legally Blonde / The Phantom of the Opera) will play Sir Dinadan, Sir Lionel will be played by Emmanuel Kojo (Girl From the North Country / Show Boat / The Scottsboro Boys), Sir Sagramore will be played by Oliver Savile (Wicked / LMTO’s State Fair / The Phantom Of The Opera) and Raphael Higgins-Humes (Lion King / Motown The Musical / Matilda The Musical) will play Tom of Warwick.
The LMTO Chorus includes: Jake Byrom, Elissa Churchill, Charlotte Clitherow, Ed Court, Emma Fraser, Lee van Geelen, Erin Hair, Daniel Hall, Adam Hepworth, Matthew McDonald, Emma Oliver, Cameron Potts, Lydia Shaw, Rosie Williamson, Lizzie Wofford and Thomas Wright.
The London Musical Theatre Orchestra is conducted by founder Freddie Tapner, who said: “I’m extraordinarily excited to have this sensational cast join LMTO at the London Palladium for Camelot, led by Olivier Award-winner David Thaxton and Savannah Stevenson. I’m particularly thrilled to introduce opera star, Charles Rice, to musical theatre fans – I know you’ll fall in love with his voice, just as we did at LMTO HQ when we found him. Camelot hasn’t been seen in the West End for 30 years, and we can’t wait to share this glorious score with you on Saturday 6th October.”
This much-loved musical brings the legend of King Arthur to vivid life with an extraordinary score and book based on T.H. White’s novel The Once and Future King. When Guenevere falls for Lancelot, one of the Knights of the Round Table, Arthur’s loyalties and beliefs are tested, and the fate of his beloved Camelot hangs in the balance.
Camelot includes the songs “If Ever I Would Leave You”, “How To Handle A Woman”, “The Lusty Month of May” and “Camelot”.

+ “The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” ― Christopher McCandless

Blind Date With A Book!
I’ve kind of wanted to do something like this for a while, but wasn’t sure how to go about doing so. I get a lot of new books, which never end up being read. Some are from well known authors, some are debuts, self published books, ect. Both paperbacks and hardbacks. But they all need love, right?
I would put them up for sale on etsy/ebay and so forth but I feel like it wouldn’t gain much attention, so I’ll try here first. All books would be in new condition and unread. Some MAY be signed by the author, or have a written message addressed to me in, that would be specified. Seeing as tags and genres can be a bit off, and differs between each person, I think posting the blurb would suffice. This would be for UK residents only, sorry. Each book would cost £7.00, and this includes postage, If one of these takes your fancy, please send me a message! Books below the cut. If you’re a booklr, please share?
Book 1
Sometimes you have to dig deep to discover what you really need. Marketing events manager Molly Keir doesn t realise how much she still cares for her ex until she meets him with another woman. Her answer is to seize the chance of a glittering job in London even though this will mean leaving behind her aging father and pregnant best friend Lexie Gordon. Adam Blair is in the wrong job. Pressured by his father to join the family law firm, the stress of work helped break his marriage. Now Molly is moving to London, and he knows he needs to move on but events soon overtake his best intentions. A year ago, Caitlyn Murray quit her well-paid job to avoid becoming a whistleblower. Now she is stuck at home with her overworked mother and four needy step-siblings. Tempted by the offer of a good wage, she returns to her old firm where her nightmare comes back to haunt her. Molly and Adam seem to have gone too far to recover the love they once had, and when Caitlyn finds the courage to speak out, she brings all their worlds tumbling down.
Book 2
In October 1947, after a summer-long drought, fires break out all along the Maine coast from Bar Harbor to Kittery and are soon racing out of control from town to village. Five months pregnant, Grace Holland is left alone to protect her two toddlers when her husband, Gene, joins the volunteer firefighters. Along with her best friend, Rosie, and Rosie's two young children, Grace watches helplessly as their houses burn to the ground, the flames finally forcing them all into the ocean as a last resort. They spend the night frantically protecting their children and in the morning find their lives forever changed: homeless, penniless, awaiting news of their husbands' fate, and left to face an uncertain future in a town that no longer exists. In the midst of this devastating loss, Grace discovers glorious new freedoms--joys and triumphs she could never have expected her narrow life with Gene could contain--and her spirit soars. Then the unthinkable happens and Grace's bravery is tested as never before
Book 3
When retired bank clerk Dave Prendergast makes the find of a lifetime on eBay with an opening bid of just a few pounds, he sees the route to a rosy future. As the auction clock runs down, all that stands between Dave and the highlife are rival bidders, his conscience ...and a big pile of ironing.
Book 4 - Written message from author
Kids in Bravo Hills trailer park usually have to grow up fast, and fifteen-year-old Jesse Sampson is no exception. With a meth addict for a mom and a drug dealer for a stepdad, Jesse spends most nights taking care of his sister, Pony. But when the cops arrest his mom for a mini-mart robbery gone wrong, Jesse hides his sister under a pile of dirty clothes and escapes through a window. In the morning, he finds his mom and stepdad have been arrested, and Pony is gone. And due to a botched drug deal, she may also be in danger. Scared, homeless, and desperate to find her, Jesse sets off on a trek that sends him from dusty rural back roads to the drug-infested streets of Los Angeles. He must dodge drug dealers, gangs, cops, and social workers as he searches to find Pony and ultimately, himself. A gritty story told from the point of view of those most affected by other’s actions. Those with the most to lose. Disillusioned by the institutions designed to help, Jesse is forced to become an adult, and does his best to protect his sister and their way of family. Sometimes without much success. Jesse is villain. Jesse is a hero. Jesse is a survivor. Chance encounters teach him not everyone is who they appear, there are reasons . . . and there are consequences for everything.
Book 5 - written message from author.
1648 and the forces loyal to King Charles 1 are defeated; the English Civil War is over, but some would not have it so……. Leading a resurgent Royalist army, Sir Charles Lucas enters the Parliamentarian town of Colchester in Essex. But the enemy, Sir Thomas Fairfax’s undefeated New Model Army, encircles the town. In the pitiless siege that follows, Katherine Wade, bound to a husband she loathes, discovers a perilous form of liberation. Beth Sayer, an impoverished weaver’s daughter, fights for the survival of her family and Tobias, a wounded soldier, must choose between duty and love. Based on one of the most harrowing episodes in the history of Colchester and the English Civil Wars, this is a story of human endurance and the cruel consequences of conflict, for victor and vanquished alike.
Book 6
Why would a girl who has everything want to run away and never be found? Willow has staged runaways ever since she was a little girl. She has everything a young person should want: a rich daddy, clothes, money, a pony and a place at a prestigious boarding school. In reality, she has everything except the thing she really wants: a father who cares enough to find her. Aged sixteen, on the eve of her father’s wedding, she ruins the bride’s dress and escapes through a window, determined never to return. Her missing mother was a circus performer, and Willow wants to follow in her footsteps. But the performers she meets don’t want her. When her last bit of money is stolen by Suze, another runaway girl she thought she could trust, Willow becomes really homeless. Then Suze comes tumbling back into her life and a desperate Willow has to decide whether to trust her all over again . . . So begins their frightening, exhilarating odyssey though hunger, performance, desperation and dreams. Will they both survive and will Willow make it to the circus of her imagining? Olivia Levez takes you into the very heart of a girl who wants so hard to be lost, but saves herself through a powerful friendship and the awakening of a need for home.

Critical Perspectives: Visual and Cultural Hierarchies Blog Task
Make a top 10 list of your favourite practitioners in your field and consider what it is about their practice that you value -
Juno Calypso / work using her alter ego, ‘Joyce’, addresses how exhausted women are by the laboured construction of femininity, captures this character (or possibly an array of imaginary women) in solitary moments of preparation and anticipation
Harley Weir / Weir tries to be inspired by her own life as much as possible, her images reflect what is happening in culture at that time - marking a generation, images are real and raw yet show the sensuality and tenderness of the human body, her work challenges gender stereotypes and female beauty expectations
Corinne Day / bleak but intimate images documenting friends and out of work models in their familiar spaces, real people struggling to pay rent living in a dump surrounded by glamorous magazines, her photos are an archive of images combining documentary and fashion to present a mood of the times
Juergen Teller / always uses 35mm film and his work is rarely - if ever - retouched, insists upon creating a narrative that goes beyond simply just showing the clothes, photographed Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs campaign capturing one of the most telling fashion photographs of the age - commenting on the disposable nature of both fashion and the modern day icons we ‘love to hate’
Iris Van Herpen / goal is to make the intangible visible and wearable - she does this using technologies like 3D printing and specially woven metal gauze, inspired by science (specifically biology), her designs are incredible and original
Shae DeTar / works with photography and mixed media to create other-worldly images, adds layers of paint to photographs to exaggerate colour, create texture and add elements of fantasy - creating a magical reality
Rosie Sayers / aims to transport the viewer to other magical worlds through digital and hand-cut collages, her work has a psychedelic vibe and a colour palette of divine femininity creating a harmonic utopia
Maya Fuhr / work plays with the aesthetics of androgyny, femininity and the internet, regular contributor to youth culture magazines, inspired by people who are comfortable in their own skin - regardless of gender and shape, comments that the fashion world is a fantasy world that she loves but it provokes feelings of insecurity and frustrations as it generally promotes unrealistic body types and social classes
Alexandra Marzella / work shows the inextricable connection between photography femininity and capitalism in our time, discusses the jealousy issue - the constant looking at curated images of selves can be so hypnotising it can often lead to serious insecurities, for me her work is crucial for creating awareness of our social media culture and its affects on mental health and body image
Yeha Leung / custom creator of Creepyyeha, a brand that is beautiful but dangerous, that embraces and intimidates, fed up of not being able to find clothes she wanted to wear Leung began to make her own, a really original brand that has already been cheaply copied by so many

Calendar Lead Up Work Idea #02
Photographs of nature/collage inspired by Rosie Sayers
I finally discovered Rosie Sayers Designs and instantly decided that I would work on incorporating her style and appropriating her techniques into my calendar design.
I sourced variable photographs from a variety of sources and collaged them together in photoshop, adding text and the calendar format over the top. I found that some images weren’t a good background to place text over as the image was too busy.
I overcame this problem by changing the hue of the exported jpeg so that individual layers were binned together in a colour set that text could be easily read over.
