Unfair Treatment: Lessons from Jordan Chiles' Bronze Medal Situation
Unfair Treatment: Lessons from Jordan Chiles’ Bronze Medal Situation The recent controversy surrounding gymnast Jordan Chiles and the judges’ decision to award her a bronze medal has sparked a vital conversation about fairness, mistreatment, and yes, even the insidious presence of racism in sports. Astro obs part 9
🐌 The planets in your 12th house indicate your sleeping style:
Sun in 12th house - their sleep schedule is extremely messed up; for them, daylight hours = nighttime hours and vice versa, so they have trouble being themselves during the day; their true self comes out at night
Moon in 12th house - goes to sleep very late; full moons have a special effect on these people; their intuition is more clear at night; as kids, they probably slept a lot with their mother
Mercury in 12th house - loves texting/calling people late at night; they might journal their thoughts before sleep because they overthink a lot and it helps to clear their mind or maybe they just like to relax by reading a book at night
Venus in 12th house - cares a lot about getting their "beauty sleep"; sleeps with sleep masks on, buys expensive bed lingerie, skincare night routine might be very important; loves sleeping in general lmao
Mars in 12th house - enjoys working out before going to sleep, can go to sleep angry because they tend to get into conflict more at night than during the day
I have Uranus in 12th house and i can be both a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper, depending on where i am. For example, when i'm traveling, during the first night i wake up several times, but from the second night on i sleep like a baby lmao. Another thing would be that i can't sleep in a quiet car but i don't have any problem sleeping during a thunderstorm
🐌 Mars in fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sag) and Mars in 3rd house individuals love riding motorbikess
🐌 While Mars in 9th house peeps would probably love to go on a world tour on their motorbike. The sign ruling their 9th house represents the countries they would love to visit (i'm aware that some of these can only be visited by plane, take it with a grain of salt):
♈ in 9th house: Ireland, Poland, Japan, Zimbabwe
♉ in 9th house: Cuba, Paraguay, South Africa, East Timor
♊ in 9th house: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Montenegro
♋ in 9th house: Canada, USA, Bahamas, Argentina, Slovenia, Madagascar
♌ in 9th house: Hawaii, France, Italy, The Netherlands, India, South Korea, Peru, Bolivia
♍ in 9th house: Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Vietnam
♎ in 9th house: Belgium, Portugal, China, Equatorial Guinea, Lesotho
♏ in 9th house: Panama, Spain, Turkey, Arab countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE), Palestine, Lebanon
♐ in 9th house: Finland, Lithuania, Romania, Tanzania, Thailand
♑ in 9th house: UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia, Camerun
♒ in 9th house: Greece, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka
♓ in 9th house: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Mauritius, Saint Lucia
🐌 I have a feeling Pisces Suns like to spend their time in a garage lmao. Mostly because their opposing sign, Virgo, would hate to spend time in a garage due to how dirty it can get.
🐌As a 7th house Sun who's been in love for almost a year now (haha, are we surprised, ofcours not; i'm not even in a relationship with him but ugh we're so perfect for each other), i realised that Sun in 7th house people tend to behave differently with their partner when they're in a healthy relationship vs when they're in a toxic one
Sun in 7th house in:
♈ Aries in a healthy relationship: empowers their partner, knows how to balance me time vs us time in a healthy manner, encourages their partner to take safe risks
♈ Aries in an unhealthy relationship: impulsive, impatient, selfish, dismisses their partner's feelings, often controlled by rage, prone to abusing their partner
♉ Taurus in a healthy relationship: veryyy generous (their love language is gift giving), accommodating to their partner's wants and needs, cooks for their partner
♉ Taurus in an unhealthy relationship: stubborn af, hard to please, focused more on the material gain from their partner rather than the love they share
♊ Gemini in a healthy relationship: curious, always lightens the mood of their partner by cracking up tons of jokes or telling them funny stories, knows that communication is key to everything so they're not afraid to discuss serious topics, teaches their partner a lot of random stuff
♊ Gemini in an unhealthy relationship: superficial, doesn't have a problem moving on from their partner to another person in a matter of seconds, if they're still in school/college, then they prioritize studying over their partner
♋ Cancer in a healthy relationship: nurturing, knows how to balance babying their partner vs being babied by their partner, emotionally vulnerable, feels safe enough to present their partner to their family early on in the relationship
♋ Cancer in a unhealthy relationship: if they don't trust their partner, they tend to become emotionally closed off to hide their deep sadness; defensive, but if their partner attackes them, then they'll hide, worries excessively, avoids presenting their partner to their family
♌ Leo in a healthy relationship: treats their partner like the king/queen they are, keeps their ego in check so it doesn't interfere with the relationship, if they've got artistic talents (music, acting, art etc.), they'll show their love for their partner by performing in front of them
♌ Leo in an unhealthy relationship: egocentric, shows off their partner/relationship too much out of pride, often feels entitled in the relationship and wants to be put on a pedestal by their partner
♍ Virgo in a healthy relationship: selfless to a healthy degree, remembers every lil detail from every casual conversations with their partner just to please them, remembers every important date and plans ahead for it, takes care of their partner when they're sick
♍ Virgo in a unhealthy relationship: critical, overfixates on past hurts and mistakes that their partner made in the relationship (often times their partner doesn't even remember those things because they're usually not that serious), loves their pets more than their partner
♎ Libra in a healthy relationship: romantic, charismatic, truly values their partner and the relationship with them, acts fair in the relationship, teaches their partner lovingly about the importance of honesty, truth and a healthy give and take dynamic in a relationship
♎ Libra in an unhealthy relationship: doesn't prioritize the relationship; instead, they flirt with others despite being in a relationship, emotionally detached, cold and calculated in their current relationship
♏ Scorpio in a healthy relationship: loyal, loves their partner deeply and intensely, but without suffocating them, keeps their partner's secrets like they're a locked safe box with no public access
♏ Scorpio in an unhealthy relationship: obsessive, manipulative, seeks to dominate their partner, displays stalkish behaviour in the relationship, liar
♐ Sagittarius in a healthy relationship: exposes their partner to various cultures, belief systems and philosophies to expand their mind and form their own opinion on certain topics, loves freely but is still able to maintain a long-term relationship, improves their partner's mood, usually brings an element of surprise and excitement to the relationship
♐ Sagittarius in an unhealthy relationship: travels in order to avoid dealing with their partner, parties a bit too much, doesn't take the relationship seriously
♑ Capricorn in a healthy relationship: loves their partner in a mature, serious and secure manner, doesn't shy away from improving their partner's social status and/or career if they can, discusses plans for the future (getting married, having kids, adopting pets, buying a house) with their partner early on in the relationship, they make time for their partner, despite the fact that they're busy most of the time
♑ Capricorn in an unhealthy relationship: displays no emotions or physical affection in the relationship, has a hard time communicating their thoughts with their partner, settles in a relationship for the wrong reasons (money/kids/safety/"i'm getting old and i need to have my life established"), prioritizes work/career over their partner
♒ Aquarius in a healthy relationship: flexible, makes their partner's dreams and aspirations come true (whether they're related to the relationship or not), has got a very open-minded attitude towards their partner's opinions, lifestyle and identity, takes the time to become friends firsts with their future partner because they value a relationship built on solid foundation (often times their partner is also their best friend), knows how to balance couple time vs time with friends
♒ Aquarius in an unhealthy relationship: displays wishy-washy behaviour, emotionally detached, prioritizes their friends over their partner, seeks online validation from strangers and acquaintances to fulfill their needs
♓ Pisces in a healthy relationship: sensitive to their partner's emotions, knows how to balance wearing their heart on their sleeve vs hiding their emotions in unfavourable circumstances, always honest with their partner
♓ Pisces in an unhealthy relationship: prone to drown their relationship problems and sorrows in alcohol, drugs and meds for mental health issues, runs away from problems instead of dealing with them with their partner, displays dishonesty to a fault, prone to self-sabotage

Osu World Cup Bracket
This is just for me to keep track. Below each read more is the matches that have been played + the next few if I want to keep track of the schedule.
Final score is in brackets before the countries. The country on the left is higher seeded (number in parenthesis after country is seed # [what the country is expected to place, essentially]).
Matches are in the order they were played. If two or more matches were played at once, the one that was on the main stream is first, the one on the alt 2nd, and if there are any others they go last.
Weekend 1
Round of 32
[5-3] Chile (10) vs. Sweden (23)

TARGOVISTE – NOVEMBER 21-22 & 27-28 – MCDSARE 2023 – ROMANIA
An article published in Psychology Research, David Publishing Company, 3 Germay Dr., Unit 4 #4651, Wilmington DE 19804, USA, https://www.davidpublisher.com/, “300,000 (at Least) Years for Homo Sapiens to Develop Writing: A Review of Silvia Ferrara’s The Greatest Invention, Tr. Todd Portnowitz.“ Then my presentation on Monday, November, 20, 2023 on DISJUNCTURE vs REVOLUTION, POSTGRESSION vs. PROGRESSION, in Romania within the 8th MCDSARE Conference (November 20-28, 2023). The central question of the emergence of language and the passage from oral language to writing will be fundamental. All Information at IFIASA MCDSARE 2023 conference, Boerescu Zaharia, Târgoviște, Dâmbovița, Romania https://www.ifiasa.com/mcdsare-event
First, a video presentation covering the newly discovered Hominin Homo Naledi in South Africa, on the IFIASA site, presents this Hominin who had reached the level of transcribing his oral language into symbolical geometric signs around 300,000 BCE. Compare with Neanderthals who did the same in Gibraltar around 100,000 BCE, and with Homo Sapiens who did it in his European and Indonesian caves around 45,000 BCE. Who is the bad pupil? Who is precocious?
Second, the phylogeny of language from the emergence of oral articulated language to the writing of all languages. Writing is the transfer from oral language to visual engravings or symbols. This will bring up the question of freedom and freedom of choice in archaeological times for Hominins. Did they choose to use their genetic means to develop articulated language, or did they just do it without even thinking about it? Same question about transcribing their oral language into some visual marks, engravings or painted symbols for writing?
The third part on the Versailles Treaty and how it still dictates the present and future of the world will be kept for publication, soon, I hope. It deals with the ferocious consequences of this treaty. Hitler and the second world war. The Holocaust and the creation of Israel, and the impossibility for this state to come to a balanced cooperation with and recognition of the Palestinians. The constant changing camps of Ukraine all along. From 1918 to the early 1920s hostile to the USSR. The vast cooperation with Hitler and the Holocaust under the occupation by Nazi forces. The submissive cooperation with Stalin and the other leaders of the Soviet Union up to 1989. Their independence and the impossibility to live as a bilingual country with two languages, two separate branches of the Orthodox religion, the deep divide between heavy industry and other activities, etc.

a few days of cold and rainy weather unlocked some memories so I have even more recommendations, that are more or less fitting the theme of ocean horror:
The Shallows (2016) - a woman vs angry shark Deep Blue Sea (1999) - people vs angry mutant sharks Dead Calm (1989) - stranded on the sea and the horror is other people Old (2021) - cursed beach The Cave (2005) - cave diving in Romania; no ocean but a lot of action takes place underwater. Guess what type of creatures are living in these Romanian caves. Have I mentioned that it does take place in Romania? Virus (1999) - computer virus from space had taken control of a ship. I only remeber that as a kid I liked it.
a man vs Nature: The Perfect Storm (2000) - drama with the creepiness level zero, but I remember some big scary waves The Guardian (2006) - the only thing I remember about this are big waves All Is Lost (2013) (drama) - one man on a dameged boat vs dangerous ocean. more beautifull than creepy
claustrophobic submarine vibes (WWII dramas/thrillers): U-571 (2000) In Enemy Hands (2004) Below (2002) - I'm not sure if I actually saw this, but this one has 'horror' in description
Classic USSR submarine vs USA submarine (subgenre of the above category, but in more modern times): K-19: The Widowmaker (2002) The Hunt for Red October (1990) (an adaptation of Tom Clancy's novel of the same name) Crimson Tide (1995)
Books: Duma Key by Stephen King (more of a seaside horror than ocean horror) Icebound by Dean Koontz (I have zero memory of what exactly was the plot, but description on wiki seems to fit the theme)
and this post and this one, and this music video, and this video
And from my 'to watch later' list: Breaking Surface 2020, The Beach House 2019, Extortion 2017, The Boat 2018, Triangle 2009, Harpoon 2019, Abandoned 2015. Deepwater Horizon 2016, The Ice Road 2021, Against the Sun 2014, The Finest Hours 2016, The Last Voyage of Demeter 2023. Pressure 2015. Adrift 2018, In the Heart of the Sea 2015. Nordsjøen 2021. Pionér 2013, Deep Rising 1998. The Reef 2010, DeepStar Six 1989, Shark Bait 2022, Mary 2019, Sweetheart 2019
This list is. Amazing. Thank you so much. Definitely some that had been on my list but a lot of others I hadn’t yet come across! I ended up watching The Cave this weekend while knitting.
Also really hoping to get to the theater to check out The Last Voyage of the Demeter!
#sea dread#thank you this is also very late but i was making sure i copied down the ones i wanted onto my to watch list

6.13
Oh boy, it was somewhat steamy last weekend, into the middle of the week. With a "Feels Like" temperature at 107F on Saturday…when we decided it would be a good idea to go out to the Phillips gallery. We were definitely walking a lot slower than we might at other times of the year!
We've had a NATO summit in town this week. The impact has, I guess, been minimal though it did cause one phase of a project to be postponed and made getting to and from work on Wednesday a bit of a challenge, even by bicycle. Though it was way easier to travel by bike than it would have been by car. I was zooming past them on every stretch of road on the way home.
This evening we're going to the USA vs Scotland rugby game at Audi Field, the DC United stadium. I'm not expecting too much as Scotland beat Canada 73-12 last weekend, scoring eleven tries. USA lost narrowly to Romania last weekend, 20-22 so they'll be doing well if they can keep Scotland under 50, methinks. And of course after a week of very warm weather, there's a pretty high chance of rain during the game.
Another note on politics, I'm afraid.
President Biden gave a press conference yesterday, with open questions from the Press. Largely these were about his capability to be President for another four years and about whether he should reconsider running. He was actually a lot more animated and looked less like a mannequin than at the debate a couple of weeks ago. But prior to the event he had called the Head of Ukraine "President Putin"; and during the press conference in referring to his Vice-President he used the former guy's name. Now I know I make mistakes when speaking, but at least I generally know I've done it and correct myself. To be fair, I've heard this morning that he did correct himself on introducing President Zelensky.
But, he still seems to be determined to remain as the candidate and time is running out for that to change. In at least one state the deadline for naming candidates for the ballot in November is early August, I believe. Though how they would cope if a candidate died between that date and the election, I'm not sure - I assume the vice-presidential candidate would be substituted.

USA Eagles v Romania Rugby in Chicago | 2024 July 5
This summer, USA Rugby added two more test match events in the 2024 American Series. The USA Eagles will play Scotland in Washington, DC on Friday, July 12 and Romania in Chicago on Friday, July 5.
The games, which will be produced in collaboration with AEG Rugby, will complement the two USA vs. Canada matches that will conclude the 2024 American Series. The Women’s game will take place in Los Angeles at Dignity Health Sports Park on April 28 and the Men’s game on August 31.

USA Men’s Eagles vs Canada August 31, 2024, Los Angeles, CA
tickets for the Romania vs. Scotland match will go on presale to USA Rugby Members. On Friday, March 22, tickets will be made available to the general public. Emails with presale information will be sent to USA Rugby Members, and tickets for the general public can be purchased via rugby.com/tickets. FloRugby will provide live streaming for both games.
Just last summer, the USA Eagles defeated Romania 31–17 in Bucharest. The Pershing Cup, which honors US Army General John J. Pershing for organizing the 1919 Inter-Allied Games, a multisport competition from Paris, has been revived with these matches.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the classic match between the USA and Romania at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924. When they played last in 2018, the Men’s Eagles notably triumphed over Scotland as well. The team’s first win in modern times against a tier-one country, and one that the Scott Lawrence-led group hopes to duplicate.

^cranky cause you're a garbage country huh?
every country has and has had its problems of course but unlike america most european countries have learned firsthand what blind patriotism can cause and people have been more weary of what is going on with their politics and laws.
our countries weren't brainwashed by capitalists into thinking all things communist were the devil and do not get me wrong we are educated enough to know the harm communist regimes have caused but we were also wise enough to take from communism sensible methods to make sure our rights won't be taken away from us. for example since we're on the topic we unionized.
I am personally sick and tired of you always pointing the finger back at us like we're the dumbasses who have been bragging about how great their country is with no self awareness whatsoever.
no country is perfect, ever since ww2 we've also struggled to progress in a civilized humane way but at least we haven't been idolizing our nation with blind adoration and endless bootlicking only to end up where you are today.
Oh and since you're always so ready and so good at butting into foreign affairs and trying to ""fix"" disputes that have nothing to do with you why don't you solve your little problem yourself since you're so strong and mighty and free (:
"smug comparisons?" please. up until 2016 you wouldn't even allow any kind of fucking criticism about anything about you...oh..wait...you still don't! funny behavior for people from a place were freedom of speech is valued so highly ((:
you are and have always been the smug ones this is just our tired "i tried to warn you but you wouldn't listen"
you don't get to annoy everyone for decades by never shutting up about how awesome your country is and then get upset when they've had it with your bullshit. fuck you.
sincerely, all of europe.
americans are wild.
theres a convo on reddit going on rn abt how europeans see americans working conditions and a bunch of americans are like "its really not bad unless you work an entry level job, i have a medium wage job i got with my degree and i get about 15 days of paid vacation a year and i even get some sick days and can accrue more, the people complaining are low wage workers who should get something better"
like. you realize that for a fulltime job 20 paid vacation days are mandatory here right? and that even entry level job offer more paid vacation days? and that any ot you work gets paid more AND counts as more vacation time right? like if your work week is 38 hours and you work 40 hours a week you get paid overtime AND an extra paid 12 vacation days a year right? and that sick days are mandatory to be paid by your employer right? that theres no limit on sick days, right?
you realize that what youre listing as good benefits is literally the bare minimum here right?
