Could you please do some headcanons about Batmans cooking disasters over the years?

Age 5: Bruce puts tinfoil in the microwave. Alfred shakes his head and laughs

Age 6: He decorates a cookie so badly another kid cries until they throw up

Age 7: He tries to make a PB&J and the countertop is sticky for a week

Age 8: He tries to make Martha's chicken noodle soup but ends up crying on the kitchen floor surrounded by half-chopped vegetables

Age 9: He tries to impress a houseguest by recreating Thomas's mixology tricks (sans alcohol). There's still a stain on the ceiling to this day

Age 10: He makes green eggs. It's not on purpose. He's never even read the book

Age 11: He makes lava in the school cafeteria

Age 12: He tries to make cheese bread by drilling holes into a baguette and filling it with melted nacho cheese

Age 13: He melts a cutting board in the oven

Age 14: He folds a Pop Tart

Age 24: He makes an ice cream cookie sandwich to eat while he and Batgirl work on a case, but he's so engrossed in the work that he doesn't notice it melt until Babs points it out

Age 25: He enters the first annual Justice League cook-off and immediately gets banned from ever entering again

Age 26: He tries to comfort little Dickie Grayson by making fried cornbread from a book of Roma comfort recipes. It turns out about as well as you'd expect when you give Bruce Wayne hot oil. Bruce is genuinely bummed out, but Dick says it's the thought that counts

Age 27: Clark delivers a huge hunk of beef from the farm. Instead of waiting for Alfred to come back, Bruce and Dick try to break it down with a power saw

Age 28: Bruce and Dick's latkes are burned so badly they can play floor hockey with them

Age 29: He makes stuffed mushrooms. Badly. Like imagine the worst way you can fuck up a mushroom. It still won't compare to what Bruce did. And it's for a potluck with the West-Allens that Barry won't let him live down

Age 30: Bruce sees Dick struggling to make ravioli and he's like "Let me show you how it's done" before proceeding to make it infinitely worse

Age 31: Bruce sees a hungry Jason Todd and the first thing he does when they return to the manor is make a double-decker bread sandwich. That's bread with two more slices of bread in between

Age 32: Bruce packs Dick and Jason's lunchboxes when Alfred is out of town. They're supposed to include a salad. Instead, Dick gets a whole head of lettuce and Jason's is just a bottle of ranch

Age 33: He makes hot chocolate after patrol... but forgets the chocolate

Age 34: The Manor is too cold, so Bruce tries to warm it up by making Jason's favorite soup. His hands shake the whole time. Suddenly, he's eight years old again, sitting on the kitchen floor surrounded by scraps reminding him of his failure

Age 35: Jack and Janet Drake are out of the country again, leaving young Timmy by himself. Bruce decides to bring some dinner over. It's baked perfectly, but it's full of things that shouldn't be anywhere near a casserole dish. They end up ordering takeout and watching old detective movies together

Age 36: Steph walks through how to make waffles. Bruce is standing there, watching closely and taking notes. They still come out looking radioactive

Age 37: Cass asks if they can get smoothies. Bruce says he can make them at home. She gives him a warning look but that's not enough to stop him. Cue Bruce forgetting to put the lid on the blender

Age 38: Jason's first night back at home, Bruce tries to make that soup. It shoots out like a geyser and hits the lights. He's panicking until he hears Jason laugh, and then the soup doesn't matter

Age 39: Damian screws up hummus and he desperately tries to hide it so people won't see him as inadequate at something so basic. Instead of getting upset, Bruce assures him it's okay and offers to fix it. (He doesn't fix it, he just makes it worse)

Age 40: Bruce's birthday happens while he's fake-dead and away from home. He grabs a convenience store cupcake and sticks a single candle on it. Then he closes his eyes, pretends his family is around him, and makes a wish. (The candle droops and sets the hotel sheets on fire)

Age 41: Back at the Manor, he attempts to make lemonade on a particularly hot day. Selina offers to help, but Bruce declines, saying, "How hard can it be?" (Spoiler alert: it's not supposed to be full of seeds)

Age 42: Kate shows him a video of Canadians pouring maple syrup into the snow to make candy, so he gets her to boil the syrup so they can do it together. The problem comes when they can't control the pour and end up with a glob the size of Damian

Age 43: As part of a school project, Bruce and Duke try to deduce the Coca-Cola secret formula. Duke's teacher takes a point off because at the beginning he told her he'd taste the results, but there's no way he's doing that now

Age 44: The family gets together to make a full English breakfast Alfred's birthday. Each person takes a part—Dick has eggs, Jason has the grilled tomatoes, Tim has mushrooms, Duke has the bacon, Steph and Cass are tag-teaming the sausages, Damian just has to open a can of beans, and Bruce needs to put bread in the toaster. It goes South immediately when Damian reaches for his katana instead of the can opener

idk if this is way too much to ask of you 😅 but can we have more info on the barça b babies? 🫶🏼I’ve only focused on the women’s team since getting into football last summer and don’t know much about them and their team, stats, injuries etc.

so some basics: the first team squad for barça currently has 21 players, but you can use players from the reserve team for first team matches. it's a great way to give more experience to the b players who have potential and a way to have more squad rotation.

the main b girlies for us this year have been vicky lópez, martína fernández, giulia dragoni, and lucía corrales. and the b team has been a very successful feeder into the first team!

per uefa rules: players who are 16 years of age or older by the end of the calendar year when the match is played are eligible to play. each club is responsible for submitting to uefa an A list of players (list A) and a B list of players (list B). no club may have more than 25 players on list A during the season. (there are even more detailed rules that you can read on the uefa link above).

la masia has a reputation for a reason, and there are protocols in place to make sure that the b girlies are not doubling up on practices and their health is monitored. that's why barça tracks biometrics for all our players, so that they are not overworked or overconditioned. and the b girls play mostly for the b team, except for some matches against lower ranked opponents or as subs. so it's not like they are all playing 90+ minutes against first team real madrid on saturday and then have to do another 90+ minutes against a b team opponent on sunday. now of course, there is an epidemic of injuries in women's football with no easy answers, and sadly that's affecting b team girls too.

so i won't go through all the barça b players, but here are some who have shown great potential:

vicky lópez - she's 17 years old and is one of the regular subs for the barça first team. and she already has two caps with the spanish national team. she's one of alexia's daughters and has a lot of flair as an attacking midfielder. also, her mom passed away when she was 11 (another way she relates to alexia in losing a parent when young), and the goal celebration above is to honour her mum.

giulia dragoni - another 17 year old wizard in the midfielder and has earned 8 caps for italy and went to the world cup last summer! it looks like giulia will be loaned to roma's first team next season, which will be a great move for her and i think she has the potential to be a regular starter there before coming back to barça. she was the youngest non-spanish player to make her debut for the first team.

lucía corrales - she's an 18 year old winger and has been a force for barça and the spain youth teams and has scored some important goals in important matches for them. mundo deportivo has described her as the heir to mariona and you can see some shades of her in the way lucía plays.

martina fernández - she's a 19 year old defender and captain of the b girlies and the spain u23 squad. she was part of the first class of female students to be in residence at la masia. she's training to be one of the cb successors to mapi and paredes. also, she's a brainiac and studies biomedical sciences and works in a lab in her free time!

ariana arias - ari is a 20 year old striker who came over from real madrid, if you can believe it! she has spoken out about suffering from harassment and psychological abuse while at real madrid! and last year was the top scorer of the primera federación (b league). she's had two goals for the first team so far.

ona baradad - ona is a 20 year old forward who already has multiple caps for the first team, having debuted back in 2021. she ruptured her acl last year but has recently returned to play. she has a lot of explosive and dynamic quality.

txell font - she's the sister of gemma font and is an even better gk in my opinion! she's also recently injured but has so much potential. barça really churn out some of the best gks around!

honourable mentions: martine fenger (norwegian national who some say have the potential to be better than ada!); onyeka gamero (one of the nominees for young player of the year in usa). emilia szymczak (17 year old who nows plays for poland national team).

anyway, this is just a start! can't wait to see more from them in the future!

Season 7 FANON Speculation: Buddie Multi-Chapter Fanfic - Hiatus Reading: “I’m still in love with you but... I needed to learn how to love myself too!”

I'm excited to finish writing Chapter 22 because there's less than one day remaining until Buck and Eddie get married.

For anyone who hasn't read Chapter 21, here's a brief overview: Buck and Eddie finalized everything before they left on Friday, December 15th. On December 10th, Buck agreed to meet with his biological father and the three of them will be present at the restaurant Edward selected. Buck still doesn't know Chris is going to ask him to adopt him on Christmas morning and neither Buck nor Chris knows anything about the gift Eddie bought to commemorate the special moment. Also, Eddie's planning several big surprises for Buck on their wedding day and for a week later when they arrive in London but Eddie doesn't know Chris and Buck are planning a surprise for him too. The three of them are speaking Italian more frequently and finally, Maddie, the 118 and Athena are still planning to throw them an engagement party because they don't know they're getting married which means New Year's Eve at Maddie's and Chimney's is going to be interesting 😉.

Buck and Eddie will tie the knot before Christmas 2023 but they are NOT getting married in the U.S. and they won't have a wedding ceremony until May 2024. They've revealed their relationship, their engagement and the fact that they're going to Europe to their found family during the 118's Thanksgiving dinner (Chapter 17), to Eddie's parents, his sisters, his abuela and Tia Pepa (Chapter 18) and Buck told the Buckley parents he's getting married and that he has a son (Chapter 19). Only three people know they're getting married in 7 days and they are Chris, Carla and Malone. They told Carla and Malone (Chapter 19) because they asked them to be their witnesses at the Italian Consulate and they told Chris (Chapter 20) that evening after they got the "Atto Notorio" (Declaration) signed but no one else knows. In Chapter 21, Buck, Eddie and Chris arrived in Rome, Italy and they're preparing for the big day.

Here's a romantically fluffy snippet from Chapter 22 of Eddie and Buck having a conversation while they're in their bedroom inside of their villa in Roma, Italia.

Buck turns to look at him and says, “I’ll be right back, I’m just going to put these away.”

“Va bene, amore mio.”  [“Ok, my love.”]  Eddie responds with a wink.

Buck blushes because he loves it when Eddie calls him my love and when he winks at him.

He quickly goes to their bedroom and after he enters, he opens the walk-in closet, heads to the back of it, opens the door that hides the safe, then he enters the digital combination and after it opens, he places their legalized documents along with their recently received “Declaration of Intention to Marry” papers inside of it.  He lays his right hand on top of the folder and nods because in less than one day, he’s going to marry the love of his life.  As he closes the door to the safe, he smiles and once he does, he grabs the handle and pushes it down to make sure it’s locked.

When he stands up, Eddie’s standing in the still open closet doorway smiling at him.  He takes a few steps forward and once he’s standing behind him, he wraps his arms around his waist, kisses his neck and whispers into his ear, “My love, in 23 hours and…”  He briefly pauses to look at his watch then continues, “16 minutes, we’ll be married”.

Buck smiles then he turns around while remaining in his embrace.  He wraps his arms around his shoulders and replies, “You’re right.  In less than one day, we’re going to be Mr. Edmundo and Evan Diaz or to quote the civil registrar… Signore Edmundo and Evan Diaz.”

They both chuckle as they remember the way Giovanni pronounced their names with such emphasis.  After they finish, they have a silent conversation that expresses how much they love and mean to each other.

A minute passes, then Buck kisses his cheek and once he leans back, he admits, “Tu sei l’amore della mia vita.”  [“You’re the love of my life”].

Eddie unwraps one of his arms, lifts it and uses his thumb and forefinger to gently pull Buck’s face closer to his and replies, “Anche tu sei mio amore.  Ricordalo sempre e per sempre?”  [“You’re the love of mine too.  Always and forever, remember?”]

“Sì, sempre e per sempre.”  [“Yes, always and forever.”]

Since he can’t resist kissing his future husband anymore, he closes the millimeters of space between them and presses his lips against Buck’s.  When he runs his tongue across Buck’s bottom lip, he opens for him and their kiss turns heated.  It’s filled with promises of tomorrow, the next day and their future together as husbands.

In the back of his mind, Eddie knows they have to leave especially since their driver Armando is waiting for them and they only have a few minutes to make it to the suit store so all three of them can get fitted.  But he doesn’t stop because he’s currently engaged in a tantalizing kiss with his fiancé and he doesn’t want it to end.

As they lick, moan and gasp into each other’s mouths, Buck feels like he’s in heaven the way he always does whenever they’re engaged in a kiss.  When Eddie rolls his tongue, Buck’s knees buckle but he manages to remain standing.

Will Buck and Eddie stop kissing in enough time for them to arrive at "Giorgio Armani" for their suit fittings? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Fic Summary: Months after Buck and Eddie were hit by the same lightning strike; they’re still struggling with the aftermath of it.  But before they make their love confessions, they’ll spend time getting to know themselves as individuals first. Eddie learns to enjoy the simple things in life as he participates in activities on his own and with new friends while Buck learns the rest of the 31-year-old deep dark family secret about his conception and birth. Their journey to forever is still a work in progress but once they finally admit they’re in love with each other, everything that follows their love confessions will be cataclysmic.

Chapter Summaries

Chapter 1 - Eddie makes a new friend while Buck receives devastating news regarding the sperm donation he made for Connor and Kameron.

Chapter 2 - Buck does a lot of research to learn more about the abnormalities found in his red blood cells and Eddie starts a new therapy journey that’s all about him and not the traumas he’s experienced.

Chapter 3 - After more than a month, Buck and Eddie finally spend time together outside of work but it doesn’t end well and they part with a lot of uncertainty regarding their places in each other’s lives.

Chapter 4 - Eddie has a few realizations about his life which causes him to consider moving back to El Paso, TX while Buck continues to be reminded of his past which causes him to take an impromptu road trip across America.

Chapter 5 - Both Buck and Eddie have difficult conversations with their parents and Buck finally learns the truth behind the reason why his mother despised him while Eddie finally tells his mother about the way she tries to control him.

Chapter 6 - More than two weeks after Buck pushed Eddie away after suggesting they needed a break; Eddie decides to try again. Eddie’s there for Buck when he’s at his worst just like Buck was there for him when he was at his worst and he won’t let Buck give up.

Chapter 7 - After Buck’s mental breakdown, Eddie has his back the same way Buck had his when he had his own breakdown more than a year ago.  They share several vulnerable and emotionally intimate moments with one another and they begin to realize their small, sweet and caring gestures matter just as much if not more than any grand gesture ever could because these are the foundations of a long-lasting love relationship.

Chapter 8 - Buck, Eddie and Chris all have their own therapists and during their sessions, they reflect on their pasts while they’re in the present so they can prepare for their future together as a family.

Chapter 9 - Buck and Eddie are there for each other when Buck has to testify as a witness during the trial.  But by the end of it, they’ll both realize their individual and shared traumas are going to keep resurfacing until they talk about them, deal with the fact that they’re in love with one another and face the fact that they can’t live without each other.

Chapter 10 - As Buck and Eddie finally begin to confront their past traumas, they realize how much they need each other to fill in the gaps of their memories.  Additionally, the universe screams at them for what appears to be the one hundredth time so Buck can realize he doesn’t have to ‘find it’ because he already ‘made it’ and Eddie’s reminded tomorrow isn’t promised and he doesn’t have to die alone if he doesn’t want to.

Chapter 11 - A “virga” or dry thunderstorm is in the forecast but once the rain starts, the thunderstorm happening outside won’t be able to match the storm brewing inside between Buck and Eddie.  It’s the universe’s final scream and when the tumultuous winds begin to blow, they’ll have one last chance to hold onto everything they’ve built over the last six years or they’ll lose it all forever.

Chapter 12 - Buck and Eddie have always shared a deep physical attraction and an emotional intimacy that’s unmatched but now that they’re in a relationship, they’re learning how to navigate the romantic intimacy they’ve been waiting for six years to explore. The love they have for each other is a once in a lifetime, soulmate, love of their lives type of love that transcends space and time.

Chapter 13 - While navigating the newness of their romantic relationship, Buck and Eddie take advantage of every moment they spend together. As their individual lives, people from their pasts, time constraints and the possibility of losing each other again make attempts to interrupt and interfere with their journey to forever, they love, care for, support and hold onto each other even tighter to withstand it all.

Chapter 14 - Buck and Eddie can see the lights at the end of the tunnels regarding the results of Buck’s Cancer Screening along with everything else they’re dealing with. But are the lights they see exits to the tunnels or are they headlights on different runaway trains that are speeding towards them in an effort to interrupt their forever?

Chapter 15 - Buck and Eddie have known they were exactly who the other one wanted in a partner since they met six years ago when they agreed to have each other’s backs. They’re in a romantic relationship, they’re both preparing to ask the other one to spend forever with them and by the end of the seventh week into their relationship, together they will plan their most important and greatest adventure for their future.

Chapter 16 - As Buck and Eddie begin to prepare for their marriage ceremony that will take place in Rome, Italy in December 2023, they start planning their first international adventure as a romantic couple. Even though Chris is still the only person they’ve told about their relationship, several people who know them have already witnessed the love they share and as the days continue, others will witness it too.

Chapter 17 - As Buck and Eddie get closer to departing Los Angeles for their international adventure, a moment in time will remind them; life is fragile, tomorrow isn’t promised and every second of everyday should be cherished because everything can change in an instant. The result of that realization will cause them to hold onto each other even more.

Chapter 18 - As Buck, Eddie and Chris prepare for family gatherings before and during the Thanksgiving holiday, the “Santa Ana Winds” start to blow and all sorts of expected and unexpected familial drama ensues.

Chapter 19 - As Buck and Eddie get closer to their wedding day, the universe begins to align everything so that some of their parent and children's relationships are strengthened while others come to an abrupt end.

Chapter 20 - With only 14 days remaining until Buck, Eddie and Chris depart Los Angeles, CA traveling to Rome, Italy, for their first family adventure, an early morning conversation about “tying up loose ends” helps Buck and Eddie realize there are still several things left unfinished on their ‘To Do’ lists. The question is will there be enough time to complete all of them?

Chapter 21 - Buck, Eddie and Chris are finalizing their ‘To Do’ Lists, double checking their itineraries and packing their suitcases in preparation for their trip to Europe so they can board their flight that departs Los Angeles, CA on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 3:25PM.

Finally, the playlist is FINISHED! I gathered all the songs a while ago, the reason it took this long is because I wanted to make a nice cover for it, which I did! See above.

LA PSA IN PROVINCIA DI PAVIA, FATTI E CONSIDERAZIONI - di Elisa Trogu, suiatra

Per approcciare correttamente il problema Peste Suina Africana (PSA), ritengo che in primis sia necessario chiarire un aspetto epidemiologico che sta venendo travisato anche sui media: la Peste Suina Africana NON è una patologia scatenata/causata/esacerbata dagli allevamenti intensivi. La PSA in Sardegna è presente dal 1978, e in Sardegna gli allevamenti intensivi sono pochissimi: nel contesto sardo la persistenza dell'infezione è stata mantenuta dai suini bradi illegali, animali quindi liberi e che vivono in un contesto di benessere assoluto. In Penisola Iberica, dove l'ingresso del virus si è avuto nel 1960, si è risolto definitivamente il problema depopolando gli allevamenti estensivi che utilizzavano una peculiare tipologia di strutture dove albergava un ben determinato tipo di zecca molle, Ornithodoros erraticus, che, come accade in Africa con Ornithodoros moubata, è serbatoio dell'infezione. Anche in questo caso, quindi, il problema NON erano affatto gli allevamenti intensivi. In molti paesi del Nord Europa oltre ai cinghiali il problema sono i piccoli allevamenti familiari, estensivi o semiestensivi, i cosidetti "backyard".

Veniamo a noi: la PSA in Italia sul Continente è arrivata tramite l'uomo, verosimilmente con qualche scarto alimentare. Nell'autunno 2021 ha iniziato ad infettare e uccidere i cinghiali in Piemonte/Liguria (focolaio scoperto nel gennaio 2022, quando ormai il virus era diffuso su un'area enorme), dopo la Pasqua 2022 la stessa problematica si è avuta a Roma (in un parco cittadino, probabilmente causata degli scarti di qualche grigliata), quindi in provincia di Salerno e poi Reggio Calabria. Queste sono tutte zone a bassissima, se non nulla, presenza di allevamenti intensivi. Interessante notare come in tutti i casi il numero di cinghiali morti sia enormemente superiore rispetto ai focolai negli allevamenti (unica eccezione Reggio Calabria, dove semplicemente con "allevamenti" si intendono piccolissime realtà familiari, anche di 1-2 capi per autoconsumo, e contestualmente la ricerca delle carcasse di cinghiale, in zone come l'Aspromonte e la Sila, non è affatto agevole): nella nostra realtà è proprio Sus scrofa ad essere il serbatoio dell'infezione e i numeri assolutamente folli delle popolazioni di questi animali, anche in contesti urbani, stanno rendendo difficilissima l'eradicazione della PSA.

Ma cos'è successo in provincia di Pavia?

Il giorno 18 agosto 2023 il Centro di Referenza Nazionale ha confermato la positività alla PSA di un piccolo allevamento (un agriturismo con 166 suini stabulati) a Montebello della Battaglia: dopo la morte di un paio di soggetti l'allevatore aveva contattato l'ASL, che in data 16 agosto ha effettuato un sopralluogo. In quel momento gli animali mostravano unicamente una lieve sintomatologia respiratoria. Il 19 agosto erano rimasti in vita 39 animali che sono stati abbattuti.

Chiariamo anche questa cosa: la PSA non uccide gli animali in maniera rapida e improvvisa: è lenta a diffondersi, strisciante, ma il genotipo attualmente circolante (il 2) manifesta una mortalità prossima al 100%.

A Montebello viene completata d'indagine epidemiologica da parte dei Colleghi di ATS Pavia e da essa si evince che il focolaio è stato causato da falle nella biosicurezza: l'allevatore infatti possiede e lavora molti terreni, i suoi mezzi agricoli entrano ed escono dall'allevamento e in zona sono stati ritrovati cinghiali positivi (il virus della PSA è estremamente resistente e può essere veicolato anche con le ruote dei mezzi, oltre che con le calzature). L'unico allevamento intensivo in zona di protezione (che seguo io) è negativo, e a fronte della presenza delle adeguate misure di biosicurezza rafforzata i maiali non vengono abbattuti.

lo e tutto il resto dei suiatri del Nord Italia ci illudiamo, per un istante, che il disastro sia evitato. II 24 agosto scoppia il bubbone: una collega di ATS Pavia si reca per un controllo di routine (fissato giorni prima proprio a seguito del primo focolaio) presso un allevamento di Zinasco. Al suo arrivo si trova davanti un allevamento vuoto (la mattina stessa erano stati inviati gli ultimi tre camion di suini al macello, in fretta e furia) e una trentina di carcasse. Grazie alla sua competenza comprende immediatamente la situazione e riesce ad intercettare i camion prima che i suini vengano scaricati nei macelli, allerta l'ATS e la Regione. Quello che emerge è AGGHIACCIANTE: da tre settimane (le prime ricette alla farmacia erano arrivate ai primi di agosto), nell'allevamento in questione (circa 1000 capi), i suini stavano morendo. In tre settimane erano morti circa 400 maiali (il 40%), erano state fatte innumerevoli ricette e nessun campionamento. Né l'allevatore né il veterinario che segue i maiali avevano segnalato la mortalità abnorme, al contrario avevano scientemente omesso la cosa e venduto tutti gli animali, anzitempo, pur di nascondere la situazione. I maiali infetti erano stati inviati in 4 strutture del Nord Italia, ma fortunatamente il virus non si è diffuso, probabilmente anche grazie alla prontezza a alla competenza della collega, che ha evitato che gli ultimi suini venissero scaricati nei macelli di destinazione. Ad oggi tre persone, tra le quali il soccidario e il veterinario, sono indagate; è opinione diffusa che ci siano altri individui implicati, ma sarà la magistratura a fare luce sulla cosa. Personalmente spero tanto che le pene siano esemplari.

In seguito a questo focolaio l'ATS ha iniziato una serie di controlli: altri due allevamenti intensivi, nello stesso comune di Zinasco, sono risultati positivi (anche in questo caso, considerato che il virus stava iniziando a circolare in quel momento, la mortalità era lievissima o assente). Tutti i maiali vengono chiaramente abbattuti, come stabilito dalla normativa.

Il 31 agosto risulta positivo un piccolo allevamento familiare (5 capi), dove era morto 1 suino. I restanti vengono soppressi.

II 4 settembre, viene ufficializzata la positività del "santuario" Cuori liberi. I responsabili avevano segnalato la morte di 2 soggetti su 40 e le analisi confermeranno che i maiali erano morti per la PSA. Da qui parte la follia. Mentre i focolai fortunatamente si fermano (si avranno ancora un caso a Dorno sempre il 4 settembre e un ultimo caso l'8 settembre a Sommo, sempre in zona di protezione), l'ATS inizia a scontrarsi con i tenutari del "santuario". Invito tutti a guardare la loro pagina: è allucinante. Non vi era nessuna minima misura di bio sicurezza: una foto del 28 giugno ritrae tre persone, con normalissime scarpe, senza calzari, che sono all'interno di un box con i suini. Il 16 aprile invece si trova l'immagine di visitatori esterni, anche questi privi di calzari e camici usa e getta, che accarezzano un minipig.

Vediamo di chiarirla questa cosa: la PSA se la sono tirata in casa loro. Loro non hanno tutelato minimamente i suini che avevano in stalla. Vi ricordo che la provincia di Pavia, per la vicinanza con quella di Alessandria dove i casi di cinghiali positivi sono numerosissimi e in espansione geografica, è sempre stata considerata ad alto rischio! Questa situazione di allerta era nota a chiunque si occupi di maiali, dai veterinari agli allevatori. I suini di "Cuori liberi" sono stati contagiati a causa delle persone che entravano senza nessuna attenzione dentro la struttura (vi ripeto che l'ATS è stata chiamata proprio perché due maiali erano morti) e stavano morendo per la PSA già ai primi di settembre.

II 4 settembre vi erano 38 maiali vivi. Quando è stato attuato l'abbattimento degli ultimi maiali in data 20 settembre ne erano rimasti in vita 9.

Gli altri sono morti e no, non è una bella morte quella da PSA: nel caso migliore (raro) la forma più acuta causa una morte repentina; negli altri casi i soggetti sviluppano febbre, sindrome emorragica, vomito e diarrea con presenza di sangue. Questo è quello che è stato fatto sopportare a quelle povere bestie.

Intanto l'ATS si rende conto della delicatezza della situazione: viene contattata anche la facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria di Lodi e viene deciso un protocollo farmacologico per l'abbattimento. In data 14 settembre il Collega Chiari (regione Lombardia) chiarisce la cosa durante un aggiornamento via web con gli stakeholder. La stessa sera mi chiama un caro amico, suiatra, che mi racconta di essere stato contattato da qualcuno del santuario che gli ha chiesto se può occuparsi della soppressione farmacologica dei suini rimasti. Lui, chiaramente, dice di no. Perché? Perché nessun veterinario suiatra vuole avere a che fare con quelle persone. Su alcune pagine vengono pubblicati video girati con i droni durante gli abbattimenti programmati (che tra l'altro interesseranno anche alcuni allevamenti negativi, ma correlati epidemiologicamente con altri infetti o comunque in zona di protezione) oltre che messaggi dai toni in alcuni casi quasi deliranti. Si inizia a leggere la parola "assassini" collegata a chi sta semplicemente eseguendo quanto imposto dalla legge. La violenza di queste persone è evidente e in aumento, giorno dopo giorno.

Intanto dal "santuario" continuano i messaggi strappalacrime, con richieste di soldi e di presenziare ai blocchi. Decine di persone si accalcano DENTRO e FUORI l'area, creando un pericolo enorme: molti di questi soggetti infatti hanno a che fare con altri suini in altri santuari. Di conseguenza in data 19/09 Regione Lombardia emette una circolare con oggetto "Sorveglianza santuari correlati con focolaio PSA 190PVO44" nella quale, al termine di una serie di misure di biosicurezza, viene riportata la frase "In caso di necessità la vigilanza di cui al punto precedente può essere effettuata anche con il supporto delle forze dell'ordine". Siamo arrivati al punto di dover esplicitare un'evenienza simile, manco stessimo parlando degli ippopotami di Escobar

La mattina del 20 settembre, a fronte di una situazione di stallo da una parte e di elevatissimo pericolo epidemiologico dall'altra, i pochi suini rimasti in vita sono stati abbattuti. Si poteva fare altro? No.

La PSA è catalogata nel Regolamento di esecuzione (UE) 2018/1882, che è uno degli atti derivanti dalla Animal Health Law (Regolamento UE 2016/429, in categoria A + D + E:

«malattia di categoria A»: malattia elencata che non si manifesta normalmente nell'Unione e che, non appena individuata, richiede l'adozione immediata di misure di eradicazione (articolo 9, paragrafo 1, lettera a), del regolamento (UE) 2016/429);

«malattia di categoria D»: malattia elencata per la quale sono necessarie misure per evitarne la diffusione a causa del suo ingresso nell'Unione o dei movimenti tra Stati membri, di cui all'articolo 9, paragrafo 1, lettera d), del regolamento (UE) 2016/429);

«malattia di categoria E»: malattia elencata per la quale vi è la necessità di sorveglianza all'interno dell'Unione (articolo 9, paragrafo 1, lettera e), del regolamento (UE) 2016/429).

Da settimane i suini del santuario stavano morendo. La PSA è stata introdotta dalla totale mancanza di attenzione dei tenutari. Alcuni scrivono che il loro veterinario avrebbe potuto occuparsi dell'eutanasia dei maiali: chi è il collega? Perché non l'ha fatto visto che sono stati contattati Veterinari esterni? Ma soprattutto: questo collega perché non ha tutelato i suini a fronte della situazione epidemiologica del Nord Italia? Vi ricordo che il 18 agosto vi era stato il caso di Montebello, ad una manciata di chilometri: perché nessuno ha fatto nulla per evitare il contagio? Incompetenza? Menefreghismo?

Vi è poi un altro aspetto che vorrei chiarire: i suini non amano affatto essere toccati da persone che non conoscono e il contenimento per questi animali è fonte sempre di grandissimo stress (considerate che già entro due minuti dall'inizio del contenimento si hanno alterazioni del leucogramma). Per i suini quindi le manipolazioni necessarie per la soppressione farmacologica comportano senza dubbio una sofferenza maggiore rispetto, ad esempio, a un improvviso e rapidissimo colpo alla testa.

Comunque, l'ATS aveva concesso ai tenutari del santuario di utilizzare il metodo farmacologico, proprio per cercare di risolvere la situazione. Inoltre, nei maiali lo "scodinzolare" non è sovrapponibile a quello dei cani, bensi in moltissimi casi è indice di un atteggiamento aggressivo e di difesa: basta con la storiella dei maialini che correvano felici incontro ai loro carnefici. Pensiamo invece come per due lire c'è chi li tratta come i cetacei dei delfinari, obbligandoli a contatti con umani che non conoscono ma che sono disposti a versare un obolo per la foto da postare sui social.

Ricordatevi poi che a, fronte di una situazione epidemiologica tanto grave, i Colleghi delle ATS devono giustamente sottostare a quanto riportato dalla Normativa (e dal Regolamento di Polizia Veterinaria del 1954 all'Animal Health Law (Regolamento (UE) 2016/429) molte cose sono cambiate, ma certi capisaldi permangono), oltre che ad eventuali Decisioni della Commissione: i Colleghi che una massa di violenti esaltati sta minacciando di morte hanno semplicemente eseguito quanto prescritto da norme che sono il frutto di studi, conoscenze decennali, oltre che di competenze acquisite tramite il lavoro di migliaia di persone ed anche, perché negarlo, la morte di milioni di animali. Che si abbia la decenza di tacere almeno di fronte a questo.

Inoltre vorrei riportarvi due articoli del nostro Codice Penale:

Articolo 500: Diffusione di una malattia delle piante o degli animali Chiunque cagiona la diffusione di una malattia alle piante o agli animali, pericolosa all'economia rurale o forestale, ovvero al patrimonio zootecnico della nazione, è punito con la reclusione da uno a cinque anni. Se la diffusione avviene per colpa, la pena è della multa da euro 103 a euro 2.065.

Articolo 416: Associazione per delinquere

Quando tre o più persone si associano allo scopo di commettere più delitti, coloro che promuovono o costituiscono od organizzano l'associazione sono puniti, per ciò solo, con la reclusione da tre a sette anni.

Per il solo fatto di partecipare all'associazione, la pena è della reclusione da uno a cinque anni.

I capi soggiacciono alla stessa pena stabilita per i promotori.

Infine, una semplice domanda: cosa rende diversi i suini dei "santuari", o comunque "non DPA", rispetto ai suini di un allevamento intensivo? Perché un esemplare di Sus scrofa domesticus di tot anni, stabulato in un contesto assolutamente inadatto (come ad esempio un appartamento), obbligato a defecare ed orinare su di una traversina, con calori mensili a vuoto, obeso, impossibilitato a grufolare, privo di interazioni con i conspecifici, MALATO, dovrebbe essere più tutelato di un maiale di tot mesi SANO che, sebbene destinato al macello, sta in quel momento vivendo la sua vita tranquillamente, senza alcuna sofferenza?

Voi che vi stracciate le vesti, che urlate, minacciate, postate frasi allucinanti di una violenza assoluta, me la spiegate la differenza? Perché io, che da più di un mese non riesco a dormire una notte intera, che passo i fine settimana a studiare, correggere piani di Biosicurezza, che passo ore al telefono con i Colleghi per cercare un confronto, o anche solo conforto, che da anni combatto davvero affinché i suini degli allevamenti soffrano il meno possibile, io, che i suini se serve li uccido con le mie mani, per evitare sofferenze inutili, io, questa differenza, non riesco proprio a vederla.

Timeline (1985 - 1990): Pietro and Wanda grew up in a Romani ghetto in Transia, raised by their maternal aunt and uncle. They never met or knew of their father until they were adults, and their mother Magda only visited them once when the twins were five. Magda spent most of her time with Wanda, and though Pietro was the last person she met with before departing, she was reportedly cold and sparse on words with him. Wanda has suspected it was because Pietro reminded Magda of their father.

In spite of this, Pietro was not bereft of affection in his formative years. Well before gaining his powers, he was an energetic child. One of the few things that could reliably relax him was his uncle Django's puppeteering. There would be less time for these puppet shows following the collapse of the Eastern Bloc, radically altering Transia's economy and forcing Django and their aunt Marya to work long hours to keep the family afloat. Pietro's rambunctiousness would shift to bitterness and rebellion as he got older.

Timeline (1990 - 2000): As true as it is today, Pietro had a short tolerance for insults, especially ones lobbied at Wanda, and was unafraid to pick fights with anyone should he feel slighted. Depending on the person, this attitude made Pietro a hero, a laughing stock and a bad egg all at once. In the case of his aunt and uncle, they were distraught over who Pietro could provoke, should he pick a fight with a non-Roma outside the ghetto. They kept Pietro out of trouble for a time by arranging him to help with the cooperative farm out in the countryside. He complained at first, but quickly found the fresh air and open spaces extremely uplifting.

Such a luxury was once more revoked due to radical changes in Transia. Following General Novoty's rise to power, Transia's economy was remade to serve a small aggregate of oligarchs, one of whom bought the cooperative farm out from the Romani. The rampant injustice of the world became cruelly apparent to Pietro and he soon fell into petty crimes with other young hoodlums, participating in the sweep of criminality in Transia following the fall of Communism.

Timeline (2000 - 2003): To quell Pietro yet again as well as bolster the family under desperate times, Marya took Pietro and Wanda with her to England to do seasonal work. Pietro continued his thievery, where he first earned the name "Quicksilver" for his uncanny evasion of the law. Pietro had reportedly been quick since he could walk, but his knack for speed became more and more uncanny until one day, where he and his group's getaway car was sputtering out and the authorities were on their tail. In his fluster, Pietro ran down the street faster than the car could have--entirely on foot.

Having resented the lowly status he had been forced to live all his life, Pietro reveled in his newfound powers. Such elation gave him little patience for the opposition he encountered among his gang almost immediately, be it anti-mutant bigotry or Pietro's own ego as he sought to take more active leadership. One supporter of Pietro was Toad, a fellow hoodlum that Pietro thought little of before.

Mortimer divulged to Pietro of his own mutant status and introduced him to the London chapter of the Brotherhood. The organization's rhetoric of mutant superiority was tantalizing to Pietro, but much to his chagrin he was barred from membership until he could convince his sister to join alongside him, explained away as the likelihood that she was a powerful mutant as well. Pietro had been aware of his sister's "hexes," as she called them, but was adamant that they were not a mutant ability, but some sort of witchcraft first taught to her by their estranged mother. Regardless of this, he begrudgingly carried out the request of the Brotherhood representative, who was none other than Wyndgarde.

Wanda was defiant of Pietro's cajoling for a few days until they returned home one night to see it in flames. Pietro witnessed Wanda break down in anguish, and in a state of distress himself could think of nowhere else for them to go but a Brotherhood safehouse. Neither sibling was aware that the flames were but a convincing illusion conjured by Wyndgarde, and that their Aunt Marya was sleeping soundly in the home the twins abandoned. The deception nonetheless succeeded, as by the time Wanda awoke from her grief had turned to wrath. For the first time in their lives, the roles were reversed, and Pietro found himself having to keep Wanda in check.

Timeline (2003): In spite of their youth and relative inexperience, the Maximoff twins were brought onto the Santo Marco mission. Pietro and Wanda were among those tasked with sniffing out intruders, aka the X-Men. Pietro personally confronted me, blocking me away from the rest of the team and wearing me down with rapid blows from all directions. The stride in his step was swerved courtesy of Bobby, while Wren took his feet off the ground altogether.

Pietro attempted a rematch with us in the city square during Magneto's confrontation with the Stranger, but that left him vulnerable to capture once the military swept through the country. He and Wanda were arrested and remained in captivity in the Neverland Containment Center for the next few months. They were among the many inmates who fled during our jailbreak, but in the chaos of it all a falling out apparently occurred between the siblings, and Pietro and Wanda went their separate ways.

Pietro's tenure going solo did not last long. Shortly after we had regrouped back at the Mansion, he had appeared to begrudgingly ask our help in finding Wanda. We were still quite shaken ourselves, with the Professor still in a coma and Wren being MIA since Neverland. We eventually agreed to help, with Jean and Hank staying behind to tend to the Professor while Bobby and I accompanied Pietro. Hy happenstance, our respective missing persons problem was mutual, as Wren had given Wanda sanctuary in her family cabin in Colorado.

Pietro was understandably hesitant to go back to prison, though we swore we would vouch for both of them (At the time, he bluntly told us that didn't make it much better). With his relationship with Wanda relatively mended, however, he ultimately agreed to finally step away from the Brotherhood. The twins were given sanctuary on Muir Island for a time, and when Steve Rogers headed a reserve team of Avengers that would grant a pardon to convicted super-villains in exchange for service, the Maximoffs were quickly put through. That project is still underway, but if there's anyone on the planet who can take Pietro's bad attitude and whip him into shape, it's Captain America.

Exemplo 19: Júnia, a companheira

Júnia é citada uma só vez nas Escrituras como parente e companheira de Paulo na prisão. Ela se converteu ao cristianismo antes do apóstolo se distinguindo entre os discípulos de Cristo e foi lembrada por ele quando ela vivia em Roma. Certamente ao se converter, Júnia deveria ter ouvido da perseguição que seu familiar incitava antes de ir a Damasco. A tristeza de ser perseguida ou morta por um da própria casa devia assombrá-la naquela época.

Não é dito o espaço tempo em que Júnia aceitou a Cristo antes de Paulo, mas provavelmente ela orava para que o Evangelho se expandisse e a missão da Igreja fosse alcançada, a qual incluía Paulo e sua conversão. Se antes eles não eram próximos, com o decorrer do tempo e das perseguições se aproximaram a ponto de serem companheiros de sela (Rm 16:7). Cristo os aproximou em meio a dor e ambos foram fortalecidos NEle.

Não é fácil ter uma família que não crê em Cristo ou até mesmo que O persegue assim como não é fácil orar por quem nos ofende por causa da fé. No entanto, orar e bendizer àqueles que nos perseguem é o que Cristo quis dizer com ‘ame o teu próximo como a ti mesmo’ (Mt 5:38-47; Mt 22:37-39). 

Se olharmos para a história de Júnia podemos observar que Paulo, antes de sua conversão, era o familiar que odiava a Cristo. O apóstolo era aquele parente perseguidor, blasfemador e que incitava os outros parentes a pecarem. 

Paulo era o parente perseguidor da Igreja, enquanto Júnia orava.

O apóstolo era o maldizente enquanto Júnia se apegava em Jesus.

Júnia é o exemplo da mulher que ora por sua família, de cooperação à sua parentela, seja esta distante ou não de Deus. É o exemplo de perdão, pois não se recordava das antigas ações do parente, mas o acompanhava na prisão por causa da fé e do amor, sendo não apenas parentes sanguíneos, mas agora irmãos diretos, participantes da família de Deus. 

Seja como Júnia e clame pela alma de sua família, escolhendo o perdão em vez da separação para com aqueles que ainda não conhecem a Verdade, mas que por meio de você podem conhecê-la e segui-la. Pois assim não importa onde se esteja, na prisão ou com liberdade, haverá alegria por estar com quem se ama vivendo pela mesma missão. 

Que sua família e parentela faça parte de suas orações para a glória de Deus.

For figuring out Juliette’s height, all I can offer is that I am 5’5 and I am almost as tall as like all the boys I have met (age range like 16 to 19?) (my social interaction is all school and classes so 🫡) and I am definitely taller than most of the girls I have met too, the only ones taller than me are like 5’6-‘7

So I think Juliette being 5’5 should fit well, cause then Roma could be like 5’6-5’7, which would make sense cause he does have Russian genes after all

I Depeche Mode il 24 marzo tornano, a sei anni da Spirit uscito nel 2017, con l'album, prodotto da James Ford e con la produzione aggiunta da Marta Salogni, che prende a prestito la citazione latina e le atmosfere cupe che la frase suggerisce per esplorare sfaccettature diverse. Il primo album di inediti (Columbia Records/Sony Music), e a seguire il primo tour, che vede Dave Gahan e Martin Gore senza Andy "Fletch" Fletcher, che per 40 anni è stato parte integrante della band e della vita dei due artisti, scomparso improvvisamente a maggio scorso. Quando, scherzi del destino, il titolo del disco era stato già deciso. Ed ha così assunto un significato ancora più potente e incisivo. Così come le dodici tracce che lo compongono, nate per la gran parte durante le prime fasi della pandemia da Covid-19, per cui alcune tematiche trattate al suo interno sono state direttamente ispirate da quel periodo: dalla cupa apertura fino alla chiusura finale, le canzoni spaziano dai temi come la paranoia e l'ossessione per arrivare poi alla catarsi e alla gioia, con tutte le infinite sfaccettature che vi sono nel mezzo.     "Per me è stato uno degli album più difficili che abbiamo mai realizzato - ha dichiarato Gahan a NME -. Ricordati che devi morire è un esortazione a trarre il massimo dalla vita".     La pubblicazione dell'album sarà seguita da un tour mondiale, il primo dei Depeche Mode in più di cinque anni e il diciannovesimo in totale, che comincerà a marzo e arriverà in Italia con tre date: il 12 luglio allo Stadio Olimpico di Roma, il 14 luglio allo Stadio San Siro di Milano e il 16 luglio allo Stadio dall'Ara di Bologna.

Este es uno de los doce bocetos al óleo de Rubens para un ciclo de tapices que representan la vida de Constantino el Grande, el primer emperador romano en convertirse al cristianismo. El boceto (también conocido como modello) representa la entrada triunfal de Constantino en Roma después de su victoria sobre Majencio que lo dejó como el único gobernante del Imperio Romano de Occidente.
